A little bit of Hong Kong in Cincinnati had us wishing we have been visiting this gem for years. To say the service is top notch would be an understatement. Our server was not only knowledgeable, he was super accommodating and on top of everything and a visit from Susanne and share of love for Asian cuisine made our stop even lovlier. We have the siu mai dim sum as an appetizer. These four tasty dumplings were some of the best I've had in the area. Our entrées included the spicy grouper with an add-on of shrimp and was one of the best meals I've had in recent memory. The Singapore noodles were perfection and included plenty of shrimp, which were just as juicy as the ones in our other dish. The staff even shared a complementary after dinner, beverage, and dessert with us - over the top and much appreciated. There are a lot of items on the menu, so that could be a little overwhelming for some, but everything looked really delicious. To begin, we ordered some lettuce wraps, chicken maki, and the ma la dumplings. Each of them were really fantastic. For my main meal, I ordered the sichuan triple because I couldn't decide! It was plenty for my meal and enough to enjoy the next day. When we came, we didn't have a reservation, so we did have to wait a few minutes (which was totally fine). Carry out only review: We placed an order for pick up. When we arrived we were a little unsure about parking vs pulling up to the door due to signs stating it was valet only. Upon walking inside, a kind man told us he would have brought it out to the car, so next time just pull on up! That is nice to know. I think the eggrolls were the best i've ever had. They had chicken and peanuts inside which is unusual and quite tastier than the normal cabbage and shrimp. The chicken fried rice was a huge portion and tasted fine but could have used more seasoning. The hot and sour soup was good, definitely spicy and did include a small amount of crispy fried noodles for topping. Seasoned chicken wings were nice and crispy. Very plain so easy to use any type of dipping sauce you like. I used the sauce that came with eggrolls and it was tasty. Beef and broccoli meal was decently portioned and tasted good. The side of lo mein was large and i really enjoyed the sauce. It was not just grease like most places! In fact, it really wasn't greasy at all. I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars because that is the experience we had. I was celebrating my birthday and that is how we were treated. I am so glad we made a reservation because it was a busy Saturday night. We started with the ma la dumplings in spicy oil and an egg roll, both were so flavorful. The staff and owners were so attentive and full of information and friendly. The decor and vibe of this place is very authentic and attention to detail is amazing, you would never guess driving by this apartment building. The menu was full of regular items but also had some extra gems. My husband tried one of those the scallop and mushrooms, he also asked for extra spicy special sauce and they delivered. At the end of the meal I was treated to the birthday celebration ice cream, budda and gong fireworks then even more treats a rasberry chocolate after dinner drink. Seriously, it's my favorite Chinese restaurant in the city. The majority of my visits are spent in the bar area for Happy Hour Tuesday - Friday from 4pm-7pm. The bar staff is awesome, and they serve theeeeeee best Lychee Martinis. In addition to the staff's awesomeness, you will also meet the friendliest patrons in the bar area. It's certainly one of those places you can go solo yet still engage in friendly conversations. Our last night visiting Cincinnati, we were in search of a nice sit down restaurant. We stumbled upon Oriental Wok and decided to try them out. We were welcomed right when we walked in and seated right away. Our server, Brenden, was great! Polite, attentive and knowledgeable. We started off with an order of krab rangoons. As Brenden said "the best krab rangoons you've ever had". They were fried perfectly, loaded with sweet and flavorful cream cheese filling. A must order item! For dinner, we shared an order of pork fried rice, side of white rice and general Wong's chicken. Absolutely amazing! The fried rice was fantastic and full of flavor. The general Wong's chicken had no breading but was lightly fried. The sauce was flavorful, not overly sweet. The veggies were also cooked well. Everything tasted very high quality and fresh. We were very full after dinner but wanted to try the mango custard. We ordered one to-go and shared it back in our hotel room. It was so delicious! The texture was smooth and creamy, not eggy like custard can be sometimes. One of the best mango desserts I've ever had! I highly recommend Oriental Wok! I went to this establishment after a co-worker recommended them. The ambiance was nice, and the food was delicious. My girlfriend was leaving our deployment, so it was a farewell dinner. She had the seabass grilled well done. It was the best seabass I had ever had. I alo ordered the egg roll. It was way too much chicken in it. The spring roll has fresh veggies you will enjoy. Their crab rangoon was banging. It had a sweet and spicy dipping sauce. I ordered the Mongolian beef dish. It was spicy and amazing. I'm not going to lie. I had dinner here recently with my cousin and we both had a great time. The food was really good and the service was excellent! We started by having cocktails and an appetizer. We ordered the Crab Rangoons to share. I ordered a Manhattan - my cousin ordered the Easy Tiger from their cocktails list. The Crab Rangoons were delicious! Great flavor and fried perfectly. My cocktail was divine and my cousin said her cocktail was really tasty also. For our entrees I ordered the Cumin Beef off the authentic menu and my cousin ordered the Sesame Chicken. It was such a pleasant dining experience today. I loved every moment. They were so kind, efficient and the food was exceptional. Fabulous evening and really felt like a special occasion. We tried the shrimp toast, crab rangoon, spring rolls, mala sichuan chicken, chang stir fry, and pan friend noodles. Every morsel was memorable. Even the sauces that accompanied the appetizers were memorable! Items are around $20 and one entree plate is probably enough per person. We are already looking forward to going back. GLUTEN FREE choices abound and the flavors are fantastic. I had dim sum (shrimp dumplings), and Singapore Street noodles - the BEST I've ever had. A delicate curry sauce without the oil/grease, yet the veggies were perfectly stir fried. And, it came with chicken, shrimp AND pork. Our server was attentive and helpful, the bar (cocktails - amazing!), wines, and beers offered had a very nice selection (a Cotes du Rhone rose was perfect). I'm kicking myself for not trying this place earlier! It's really good. Their vegetables are fresh, meat is tender, grains are cooked just right. You can tell this restaurant pays special attention to their prep work and quality which I can truly appreciate. I am also in love with their wonton soup. The wontons are made of chicken and it is very simple yet comforting. The overall design of the place is incredible, I could spend several minutes just admiring the decor. I will be honest and say the price is pretty high but it is worth it if you are just getting 1 or 2 entrees. I want to try more of their menu since the food that I have tried is really good but will have to space it out overtime. Luckily this restaurant is here to stay. WOW!! My family and I ate at this restaurant for the first time tonight and we're now forever customers. Everything here is positively notable. First, the ambiance of dining room is absolutely gorgeous. The koi ponds, the lanterns, the dragons leading upstairs, the chandelier - just beautiful. Our waiter was out of this world awesome - very attentive, conversational and spent a great deal of time with us. The owner also walks around and chats with the customers, which we thought was super nice. All of our food was amazing and I highly recommend the shrimp and mushroom dish. The ice cream, key lime pie and red blend wine are also fun items to choose from. Seriously, this was some of the best food I've ever had and you have to check this place out at least once. My favorite (other than the food) is the display of pictures throughout the years.... So much joy, love and happiness has occurred in this restaurant. Family restaurants that do it right are a favorite place to be, for me. -- I rarely take a picture of a bathroom (never if a person is there) but this bathroom is clean, beautiful, fully stocked, and again, more memories in picture form to further feel the warmth of this restaurant. Throughout the years we have been here a handful of times and I always felt the same about this pleasant restaurant and liked the food but I had never explored the menu like I did this experience on a Monday at 11 am and I am glad I did as I am now a LOVER of the food and not just the environment. The waitress was super friendly and has been working at this restaurant for 27 years-- WHAT???? Wow- loyalty is certainly another indicator of a great restaurant. In any event she was helpful in ordering as I really just wanted a couple appetizers that I had not tried before....I have always wondered what shrimp toast was but never ordered. After reading the amazing reviews about their shrimp toast I was motivated to order but my husband doesn't eat seafood and it's a pretty big appetizer and I was getting more food.. the waitress was emphatic about how good they are and I ordered them, as well as, chicken potstickers to split, wonton soup, and chicken fried rice for our kiddo for after school but I wanted to try at the restaurant.. chicken fried rice was good... standard but good standard and I enjoyed it as did our kiddo. The chicken potstickers are not my favorite (in the soup they were better) and I wouldn't order again but my husband loved them. I am used to the pfchangs and these were very different- felt healthier but just dry.... Again, he thought they were great. The wonton soup was AWESOME and the fact they make it with chicken is so cool as well as we don't eat a lot of pork so we never do the wontons in most places... Above all though and my favorite new treat -food is their shrimp toast, that I almost talked myself out of ordering.... Holy moly!!!! it was amazing and it was hard to put it down no matter how full I was as it's toasted perfectly and the flavors are just all really good and while it's a fried dish it just didn't feel too oily at all and was just well... perfect, perfect crunch, flavor, texture, dip, all of it.... This toast is why this restaurant will get to know our smiling faces at least a couple times a month........ When I took all the leftovers home I was excited to share the shrimp toast with our 11 year old as she also loves shrimp. I air fried it to heat it up and it maintained a good amount of the crunch and she LOVED it too... we already have a mom/daughter date to go back. Definitely get the shrimp toast....this was a celebration for my husbands birthday so we went a bit crazy with ordering a variety and this was the perfect restaurant to do this as I fell in love with a restaurant I have always admired and enjoyed going to but just hadn't found MY dishes :) We (I) will forever order the shrimp toast and wonton soup....... i will keep trying all the main dishes to find my fav and will Update.... Husband got a chicken noodle dish that I can't remember the name of... he enjoyed it very much and I also thought it was very good (pictured)....like me, he LOVED the wonton soup and he also enjoyed the potstickers... Last note, they serve Pepsi products and while I prefer Diet Coke I never expect a restaurant to have both. Husband asked if they had any while I was at the car and the waitress got me a can of diet Coke with a glass of ice... LOVEd that as any meal is better with your drink of choice. Excellent food and service! The decor is absolutely unreal. I was obsessed with it. It feels like a more formal restaurant but the staff / host are so welcoming to small kids (we came with two). We also celebrated my son's birthday and our waiter came out with a Buddha statue and ice cream to sing happy birthday to our son. My family and I tried this restaurant for the first time tonight. We all really enjoyed it! The interior of the restaurant was beautiful. Everywhere in the restaurant you could spot Asian-themed architecture and decorations. It was especially pretty since it was still decorated for Christmas. Our waitress was wonderful! She was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. She gave great recommendations and solved a problem with our table quickly and politely. She gave great service. The food itself was excellent. The calamari appetizer was rather salty, but it was still tasty. Everyone in my family enjoyed their entrees, even my sister who doesn't like Asian cuisine and is a picky eater.
