Worst service. Period. Went on a Friday night so we understood it's a busy night. Ordered an appetizer and our food, an hour later one of the back of house staff brought out our appetizer. It was so cold. When we finally got a chance to talk to our server that clearly didn't care at all, she just looked at us like she didn't care when we told her that the appetizer was cold and asking about when our food would be coming out because everyone around us that got there after us already had that food but they had other servers. She didn't even go back to the kitchen to check on our food. We finally decided that we were over this service. We got up went to the front and asked for a manager. A manager came up we told her what happened and she pretty much looked at the same like she didn't care and that she just wanted us gone because we were standing up in front of all the people waiting for a table. The worst service and management. I've work and many different restaurants and I've never seen anything like this. I would share the server's name but she didn't even tell us what it was. I have been here 3 times. The first two the service and food were great! Yesterday I took my niece and mom for lunch. The waitress was terrible! We chose to sit outside since it was a beautiful day. Ordered ice teas, mine unsweetened because I like to add sweet n low. She didn't even offer to bring out the sugar packets nor salt and pepper. I sent my niece back inside to grab some from a table. We placed our orders for appetizers. Waitress puts the order in and immediately comes back out to get our lunch order. We place the order: my niece wanted soup and salad, no tomatoes and olives, mom puts in her order for a sandwich no special requests. I put in my order for the crispy chicken salad, chicken on the side please ( I don't like my lettuce wilted by the hot chicken), I also keep a menu to later order something to take home to my husband. The appetizers arrive, we're talking and eating-not five minutes have gone by and the waitress brings out our order! How rude is this?? My nieces salad comes with tomatoes and olives loaded on her salad, my chicken is all over the top of my salad. I didn't want to send it back because I didn't want spit in my food upon return. I put in the order for my husbands sandwich as ask that mayo be put on the side and not on it, you know to prevent the bread from becoming soggy. Waitress shakes her head like she understands, 4 minutes later the sandwich is brought out with mayo spread on it. How hard is it to handle simple requests? Our waitress Rasheeda L. should be looking for a different line of work. She sucked as a waitress. On a $51 bill I left a $5 tip and felt even that was too much. I took my wife to Cheddars for her first Mother's Day dinner (our first child together), and it was likely the worst restaurant experience we've ever encountered. I wanted her day to be special, and she chose Cheddars, and I'm completely disappointed. After arriving, and waiting a short 20 minutes we were seated. My daughter, and I ordered appetizers as our meal and received them fairly quick. My wife, and sons food never showed up. After waiting an hour Jimmy the manager came to our table and told us Patricia our waitress forgot to put in our order. Seriously?! He said he would rush the food but it was another 45 minutes before it came out, and in that time Patricia never returned to check on us. We had plans after dinner and had to have their food boxed up and they ate it cold later in the evening. I emailed the GM Phillip Harmon but never received a response. It's easy to see why his team drops the ball, attitude reflects leadership. The food that we got was good, but the service and follow up was so terrible I can't see us ever going back. BEWARE! How disappointing. The retirement group goes out to lunch monthly and was looking for someplace new to go. They were unwilling to accommodate 9 people...refusing to put one more chair at a table of 8, so the party got split up. The worst thing was the rude and consdescending attitude of the gentleman who refused our request to be put together. We're so sorry to have bothered them by wanting to frequent their restraurant. My husband had a Christmas lunch at this Cheddar's and raved about the prices and the food and the service so we decided to invited 4 other couples and go! We went last night a Saturday night at 530 knowing we would have a wait we would just hang in the bar and we did our wait was an hour but we were prepared so it was ok. The bar area is small and cramped but we made it work. Our first attempt at ordering drinks was a bit hectic we had to beg a bar tender to take our order but after the initial begging service was faster drinks were not to pricey and they were strong. We went to sit at a side by side booth due to space for large groups and this is where the hell started! We were met by our waiter and ordered drinks 8 drinks and 22 minutes later we got our first round of drinks I seriously thought I was going to snap but then my appetizers came and delivered with no plates and we asked two different servers for them and never got them so the 4 at my table just ate with out them. We ordered potato skins they were ok nothing special. We ordered more drinks not all of us just the ones who wanted to be tortured! WE ordered dinner all 8 of us and we waited and waited and waited over 40 minutes at this point our side booth got there food and we did not and did not and did not after 20 minutes of only half our party having food we asked and were told the wait was because of a well done burger! We asked for a manager and should of long before this but we were really out wanting to have a great time! We had no kids and a sitter and wanted to just drink and eat! Our food came 2 of the 4 were cold not even warm! My girlfriend did pay the up charge of $2 for fries with her burger and did not get the fries neither girl got there fries the one burger was supposed to be mustard and cheese and no MUSTARD! I realize its a Saturday night but are you serious? I asked the manager for a box for my cold food so I could take if home and warm it up AND HE NEVER BROUGHT THE BOX! Last thing my son and date were charged for someone elses bill!!!! We did get our 4 meals comped and payed for our forever waiting drinks. VERY DISAPPOINTED I have been to Cheddar's a few times since their opening. Those visits were pleasant. Last night was the WORST. It was my daughter birthday so we has a party of 10. They insisted on putting us in booths back to back. After refusing to be seated like that we were able to be seated a table. Immediately upon sitting I noticed a stink bug crawling across the table. I placed a menu down and had the bug crawl on to menu, which I handed to a manager standing near my table. He immediately took menu and exited dining area. When he returned continued talking with other party and never returned to my table to offer apology or anything. Waitress was horrible, drink orders taken immediately, we had to flag waitress down to take food orders. Orders were slow to be served, some food was never even brought to the table, and was eventually taken off tab. We were one of the last parties to leave as restaurant was closing. I noticed I had left my umbrella in the restaurant. I called early this morning before restaurant opened to get my umbrella only to be told it was not turned in. I read the reviews first and they were right, manager had waitress send out food that they saw was dried out (spinach dip). Waitress was informed that consumers like myself will not tip that well when its obvious you wouldnt eat this. So her $8 tip went down to $5, she was a polite waitress. read more

I just called Cheddars in Northgate to place a carry out order for lunch today. The manager told me that they do not take phone orders, but that I will need to come in to the restaurant and order and wait! This is very inconvenient for those of us who work and have limited time at lunch to go out and get something. I asked the manager why they do not do this and he replied back saying that McDonalds do not take phone orders! Is he really comparing his restaurant to McDonalds? I replied back and said that Friday's, Chilie's, Applebees, Olive Garden, etc...do. He said, well, we don't. He just lost a ton of orders from a large corporation in the area! we will never use Cheddars for our meetings again. Friday's was very accommodating for our large order! read more

Ate there on Sunday after church. Was disappointed to find that ownership has changed hands and the cat fish which was a popular menu item had been taken off and replaced with Whiting. Ordered my usual favorite the southern fried chicken. Flavor was disappointing. Seasoning had been changed and or reduced to something less than the standard that I am accustomed to from cheddars. Service was slow as the waitress seem to have too many tables to handle at one time. Also the flavor of the Whiting doesn't even compare to the catfish that used to be on the menu. It seems that this change of hands has been designed to change the demographics of The customers. Probably won't be going back for a while. Also my husband had the macaroni and cheese and found the flavor to be disappointing compared to the macaroni and cheese that was on the menu before the ownership changed. I wanted the reviews to be wrong. I read several reviews that the service was awful and hoped by waiting almost a year after they opened the kinks would be worked out. My mom wanted to go to cheddars despite the reviews so we went at 5:15 on May 29th, 2014. We were seated right away, which was a plus. A few minutes later our waitress took our drink orders. They soft drinks were brought out 8-10 minutes later, leaving us ample time to study the menu and know what to order. I ordered a half slab of Ribs, substituting mashed potatoes for the fries. My mom ordered the bacon cheeseburger and asked for onion rings in place of fries. We were told the only onion rings were the appetizer portion but decided that was ok. We thanked the waitress and that started her annoying habit of responding "no problem" to every time we said thank you. I don't think this is proper response to a guest thanking an employee and if there isn't a corporate policy one should be established. We waited 15 minutes and our waitress came by to tel us our order should be out soon, it was taking awhile since we ordered the onion rings which were prepared by hand and the burger was well done. About 7minutes later a food runner brought out our food! Yay we were ready to eat, but why did we have spinach dip and no hand cut gotta wait for them onion things??? We told the runner what as missing, he said he would tell our server. A few minutes later our sever came to check on another table, we waved her over to tell her of the issue she said she knew about it, but to go ahead and eat, we told her the point was to eat the rings with the burger, she said they would be out soon... Not sure how if that was one of the reasons for the slow service in the 1st place hmmmm. A quarter of burger later, the rings came out with the server and a manager to let us know the rings were on them. Nice, but from other reviews typical. Oh and they were the only hot food we were served! Cheddars need to close for 2 weeks and rehire/retrain. The service is not good and needs to be corrected. The only reason Im giving this restaurant a 1 star is because theres no option for "0" star! This review is for ALL Cheddars Scratch! Unfortunately most Americans don't know the difference between real food and plastic food. I even wrote to their corp. headquarters and told them, "how dare you call yourselves Cheddars Scratch". The name should be "Artificial Imitation Fake Cheddar Scratch Food Product." Anyhow, they didn't respond........Our experience was over the top crappy food with decent service. Its not the waiters fault the food is plastic. My potato skins were the worst Ive EVER had! Fake cheddar, fake sour cream, fake butter, and fake creamer in my coffee! Are you kidding me??? The onion rings looked really inviting due to the interesting presentation, but were not flavorless and so was the lack luster dipping sauce. Based on my first visit, this restaurant is fine. The decor is very pleasant, better than other rest. chains I have visited. it looks very clean too. The service was very good, very welcoming personnel as well. In regard to the food, I can only judge for what my daughter and I had that day. She had the chicken tenders with fries and a green salad with Ranch dressing. The salad was good, big chicken portions and fries, nothing extraordinary. I had 6oz medium-rare sirloin steak with sides of veggies. The steak was pretty good, I really enjoyed it but I was pretty disappointed with the veggies. i had green beans, which were wide flat shaped ones, cut in small pieces, they had no bite 'cause they were overcooked. The baby carrots also had no bite way overcooked. I think they use frozen veggies. The waitress offered me to choose another veggie instead but I had not too much choice to go for but broccoli which I am sure it was going to be just the same, bland and overcooked. I might go back to try something else but I will omit the veggies, what a shame 'cause I love my veggies. The price very affordable. read more
