Went to libby's for lunch yesterday, and of course, chicken was great. My shrimp and grits were overcooked, unfortunately I've had before, and to say the least, it's never consistent, unfortunately. I did let the waiter know when he asked how things were, people need to speak up at that time. He apologized, and I told him I had before, and it wasn't the same down to the little pieces of tasso ham in it. The check came and he discounted my meal as I was ok with that because I did eat the shrimp but it was different.

Came to Cincinnati for a concert, initially planned to go elsewhere to eat but couldn't find parking anywhere. We stumbled upon Libby's and we're so glad we did! They had parking, and although they were full on reservations, 2 spots at the bar opened up and we grabbed them happily! First, the food was FANTASTIC! I had the Willy Burger and my husband had the fried bologna sandwich and we both loved what we ordered and vice versa. The sauce on the burger was phenomenal! The drink menu was extensive and looked so good but we were in a bit of a hurry and I'm 6 months pregnant so we settled for waters. Second, the service was excellent. Everyone was so kind and helpful. The ambience was great, I loved the big open garage door and patio seating they offered. The decor was so cute! We are bummed that brunch reservations for tomorrow are full, but we will absolutely be back!

This is brunch vibe for every aesthetic person on social media. Walking in there is a chill vibe and the staff is so friendly and you feel like you are at a friend's dinner party. We went with a group of friends, sat on the patio and played cards while we waited for our food. Perfect end of summer place. The drinks were delicious and refreshing without tasting too strong. The Bee's Knees is my personal recommendation as I think I had two during brunch. Usually I measure a "southern" style place by the chicken and waffles and this was no different. The chicken was crispy the way I like it while still being juicy and flavorful. My only critique is the size of the waffle I wanted more to balance the chicken pieces. Will be back and ready to try something else on the menu.

Some good fried chicken and sides!

There are two stops on the B-LINE for fried chicken, The Purple Poulet and Libby's. You need to eat at both. Very different environments and ambiance. Both have delicious chicken with its own flare. I ate a late lunch at the bar. Not crowded so the bartender, another patron, and I had a nice conversation while I ate. The chicken was hot, crispy, flavorful. The sides were good. They cooked it order so it was fresh but the breast was a bit dry. Not overly so, but a 1-star hit. Libby's is a diner-style place with bar seating, as well. Varied menu. Parking can be a pain in the area at some times of day so give yourself time for dealing with that.

Excellent service and nice patio area. Our server was always nearby and even apologized when she was busy. The only thing to complain about was how loud the outdoor patio could be with all of the trains passing by. Food was excellent and I really enjoyed the appetizers. For the main entrees we received large portions of everything.

Excellent service and tasty food. I arrived early and had the Bourbon Cheerwine Slush while I waited. It was unusual, delicious, and felt very local. The server let me read in peace and checked on me a few times, but did not make me feel rushed, even as tables started to fill. Once my friend arrived, we had another round of cocktails, also excellent, and the goetta hush puppies, which were far better than I expected, as I don't even really like goetta. Not a lot of vegetarian options, but they do have a few dinner salads which are well-presented and make a good meal. Don't miss the scratch made oatmeal crème pies for dessert.

Ordered Charlie Brown (aka Ky Hot Brown)-ok for the price_at least 2 servings. Ordered the shrimp & grits -do not recommend Ordered fried green tomatoes to start. Good portion served with pimento cheese & onion jam. Suggest putting the onion jam on the side with the pimento cheese. Service was pretty fast; good lunch crowd.

Nice eatery near Braxton. Pleasant atmosphere, staff is very friendly and attentive. Food was really good and the service was quick. We'll be back for sure. Small parking lot and street parking. A 3% charge is added if you use a credit card.

First of all the ambiance here is amazing! Doors open and there is a nice breeze blowing thru. Drink menu seemed to have a lot of rum items. I got shrimp and grits but it was loaded with fried French onion stick things and the shrimp was too charred. My bf got the fried chicken which he said was the best fried chicken he has ever had and that's saying a lot as we are travel foodies and he's a chef! I wish I would have gotten the fried chicken. The service was good but a lot of young staff so take that as you will. Nice place for dinner overall.

Fried chicken and mashed potatoes live long in my childhood memories so it was a natural choice for this year's birthday dinner out with the fam. And I was looking for a place with great fried chicken with a couple steps above the "we serve the world's best chicken out of the back of our garage" kind of place. Which led us to Libby's. Excellent dinner all the way around! We had 2 orders of the two piece dinners (one light, one dark), one BLT salad and one chicken thigh dinner. The chicken dinners were outstanding. Good sides -- mashed potatoes, black eye pea salad and collard greens -- not outstanding, but really it's the chicken I was there for. The chicken thigh dinner was reported to be excellent by hubs, with sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Oh! And we started with the Big Dipper app which was crostini with 3 different spreads: feta, crawfish and pimiento. Delicious! My favorite was the crawfish- nice light flavor. Salad was deemed delicious. The menu changes so don't count in what you see online (the chicken thigh dinner wasn't listed online though I assume the standards stay consistent). Just go and know you'll find something great. We made reservations on a Saturday night, and were directed to an outdoor, plastic'ed in room -- it was ok. The main restaurant has more ambiance but is quite small, tight and maybe more noisy?? Let's call it "bustling". Our waitress was super - nice, attentive, friendly. There's parking attached, on weekends. We would definitely go back next time fried chicken calls our name!

This little corner restaurant is legit. The staff is wonderful and service is outstanding. The restaurant is quaint and very comfortable for being a small restaurant. The food is outstanding and the price is a great deal. I ordered the 2 piece chicken meal (breast and wing) (option dark meat as well) 2 sides collard greens Mac and cheese served with a home made biscuit. Great flavor and good size portions. The fried chicken was the best I have had in a long time. The chicken was moist, tender, and great flavor, the batter was perfect not too thick not too thin just right. The collard greens were tender and great flavor and the Mac and cheese were perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the Cincinnati area.

    Half chicken + 2 sides

Stopped in for Restaurant week and got quite the bargain for $36. Fried green tomato appetizer, half chicken meal with 2 sides and an oatmeal pie desert. The oatmeal pie was the best part of the meal. All vegetable sides are made with pork, so I tried the blackeyed pea salad (yum!) and macaroni and cheese (weakest part of the meal). Chicken was well seasoned and a huge portion. Biscuits are the reason you MUST try this place. Flaky, buttery and melt in your mouth.

    Goetta hushpuppies
    Laura C.

Great good and great service. Had the goetta hushpuppies and 2 piece fried chicken with collard greens and Mac and cheese. While you're there, pick up a homemade oatmeal cream pie for dessert later at home.

Ask the Community - Libby’s Southern Comfort

Are they doing bottomless brunch? (March 2021)

Yes, I believe it's 20 per person for the mimosas.

    Can you make Reservations?

Yes, just call the number on the website.

Are there any gluten free options?

Looking at the online menu, it doesn't look like there is a distinction for gluten free options, making me think the salad menu might be your best bet.

Everything is seasoned perfectly, cooked right, and served hot. The fried fish was crispy and flavorful, the mac and cheese was rich and comforting, the greens tasted like they came straight out of someone's family kitchen, and the candied yams were sweet and done just right. It's the kind of plate that reminds you why Southern cooking is so special. But what really stood out to me wasn't just the food. It was the customer service. In most places, you either get incredible food with average service, or great service with food that's just okay. Southern Grace somehow manages to deliver both at a very high level. From the moment you walk in, you're treated with genuine kindness and respect. The staff is welcoming, attentive, and you can tell they actually care about the experience they're giving their customers. I have to make a special mention to one of the team members LaDon for his exceptional professionalism. That kind of consistency between food quality and customer service is rare. It makes the entire experience feel personal rather than transactional. If you're looking for authentic Southern food paired with top-tier hospitality, Southern Grace is absolutely worth the visit. Places like this remind you what real customer service is supposed to feel like.

The Goetta is a regional dish popular to the area comprised of sausage and potato fried like a smash burger. It was packed full of flavor and was nice and crispy. A must get was the biscuit and gravy. Unlike the southern style which is usually thick and creamy, this has amazing seasoning, plenty of the sausage crumble, and rich texture. The biscuit underneath was soft and savory and paired very well in this dish. The filet and eggs were perfectly cooked and had good flavor. There were a lot of diced potatoes on the plate to enjoy which was also well seasoned and crispy. Lastly the big easy omelette was very good. I do like the fact it was plated on top of a piece of toast. The biscuit and gravy along with the omelette gave a very strong New Orleans feeling. The cocktails also hit their mark. Local distillery Riff was the maker of the bourbon for the mule. I'm not sure of their lineup but it compared to Bulleit Bourbon. Very stable in the cocktail without being overpowering. The hard truth was a coffee with a punch and a great way to start a vacation morning. The restaurant was deceptively large from its outward appearance. There is lots of seating available and the tables moved swiftly. The large garage style doors allowed for full fresh air circulation and opens the brightness from the natural lighting. Being a corner location they were able to maximize on the opened interior dining experience. Overall 4.7 out of 5

Finally, at 805pm, I went to the bartender and said, "those are our drinks that have been sitting there for a while". Our server brought them over like we ordered them 5 minutes prior. But the lovely owner/manager came over and said the "drinks are on me" because we waited so long. We appreciated that! The fried chicken was good, but the breading was very salty. The green beans were almost inedible because they were so salty. The mashed potatoes were average. The biscuits were fantastic. The fried deviled eggs were okay. A regular deviled egg is better. The shrimp and grits had a lot going on. The shrimp was lightly battered and fried (?) and the flavor of the dish was bold. I think sauteed shrimp and a little less gravy would make it perfect.
