I love Aloha Stacks. I have one close to home but we were at The Maker's Mart, so we came here for lunch. I would've given 5 stars but I'm taking it down to 4 , almost wanting to take it to a 3 honestly. This is all because the lady who was handing us our food was just putting plates down like we were inconveniencing her. It was just weird. Like she was having a bad day or was pissed off about something and just dropping plates. I unfortunately didn't get her name. Made me not want to return to this location again which is fine. I'd rather frequent the one closer to where I live. The restaurant had some tables inside and it was clean but not really room for larger parties. There was six of us which required that we sit at two separate tables. Most of the seating was outside and had dappled sun. On hot days it's not ideal. What we ordered: 1) kahlua pork omelette - delicious with juicy strips of shredded pork. 2) ube pancakes - this was DARK and I mean DARK in color. Not the color I am used to with. I was a bit scared that this would be too sweet but I was so wrong. The pancake was so good. I loved the sauce on top and the coconut shavings. They don't do online orders, so expect a line. The good news is, the 20 minutes you stand in line may seem like an eternity, but once your order is placed, your food comes out within minutes. Even though the line was way out the door, the person at the register kept a friendly demeanor and didn't let the stress get to her. It's located in a busy plaza but parking wasn't too difficult to find and there was more than enough seating for how busy the place got. I've been having the craving to try Ube pancakes. Luckily I was able to find one while I was visiting this area. We ordered the Ube pancake, the fried rice, the kids chicken strips, the guava pancakes, s'mores French toast and the chicken and waffles. Also ordered the iced Ube coffee drink. Hands down the Ube pancakes was the best thing we ate. So good and delicious. Everything else was good but nothing as spectacular as the Ube pancakes. Runner up would be the s'mores French toast. The place is busy but by the time you place an order usually a table is leaving. We've ventured out and tried other breakfast places in the area somehow we keep coming back here. We tried the Mac nut pancakes, Tutti Frutti French toast, Spicy chicken and bacon waffles, Island Chilaquiles, fried rice and Portuguese sausage. The Portuguese sausage was good, but the fried rice was just that, fried with a bit of soy sauce , no veggies or meat. The pancakes were good, nice and fluffy. We paired it some Ube sauce. The pancake syrup was not sweet, so we had to pour more to get a good taste. The rest of the food was okay, but felt they were a bit under seasoned. To start, I absolutely love the food at Aloha Stacks - everything is delicious. We live close by and often call in orders for pickup to avoid the long line. Just like most other restaurants lately, they've gradually begun raising prices. Disappointing, but understandable. However. We tried calling to place an order today and discovered they have a new automated phone answering service. We selected the "place pickup order" when prompted. However the recording told us if we want to place a pick up order, we need to use their website. Calling in an order was no longer an option. We went to the Aloha Stacks website and found most of the prices to be around $2.00+ more in price than their in-store menu (chilaquiles are $17.50 on their website and $15 in-person) and . This is common practice on most 3rd party food ordering sites, but the fact it's their own website doubled with completely removing the option to call in an order was a terrible disappointment. It also feels like a really scummy business practice. It breaks my heart, but we won't be coming back here until we're able to order pick up for the same price as in-restaurant. I overlooked it when you guys switched your latte drinks to medium cups and charged the price of a large, but this is too much. read more

My friend and I tried Aloha Stacks for the first time today. Since It's a holiday the line was long but the manager did a great job of making sure the line was moving and keeping everyone informed. We tried the chilaquiles which were especially delicious with the salsa. The Mac Nut Banana pancakes were delicious especially with the coconut syrup as recommended by the manager. The star of the show were the Ube pancakes. The sauce is decadent and light at the same time. It's definitely a must try and wonderful addition to the foodie culture in Whittier. read more

When we looked up "local breakfast" places we came upon "Stacks pancake house" and proceeded to the route, but, we didn't see it when we pulled into the parking lot. Maybe there is a recent name change...? Anyway, it was confusing but we figured we were at the right spot, sorta! We walked in and ordered, paid, (option to tip ahead of time) got a number, and selected a table. They brought the food out within 10 minutes. We kept it simple: avocado omelet (mushroom, tomato, spinach, cheese, with sliced avocado on top) which included a choice of house potatoes, a side of pancakes, regular or fried rice, or toast; and a simple short stack with bacon on the side. Total was around 38 with tip. All were cooked and prepared well. Tasty and satisfying. We like to avoid chain restaurants, but this tucked-away spot in a strip mall was just fine for us. Service was quick, but no one checked on us. No biggie. The coffee was just ok. It wasn't super hot the way I'd prefer, and I didn't love how there were no free refills, plus cream came in those mini plastic containers. It was quiet when we arrived, but shortly after, a giant group came in and took over the whole front area which made it difficult to grab our own water refill. It would be best to get here early. Really similar to Stacks over in the Walnut Village Center. Good tasting Hawaiian breakfast and a really good selection. The line was super long but at least it moved fast. We were able to find a table pretty quickly and the food didn't take very long. Everything we had was pretty good. I had the corned beef hash loco moco and I would definitely get it again. Nice brown gravy, nice and crispy corned beef hash. I got it on top of the fried rice and that was really good. My wife got the ube coconut pancakes and those were really good. Found my favorite pancake place hands down... these ube pancakes are a dream!!! They're so soft, moist, creamy, and not overly sweet. They are a definite must-have during each visit to Aloha Stacks. I also recommend the chilaquiles! They are not too spicy and very flavorful! However, I wasn't a fan of the Chorizo Scrambler...nothing special about it. Flavor was pretty bland. The restaurant itself is pretty small, and it might be hard to find a table inside especially during the weekends, but I've managed to find seating outside, so it's not too much of a downside. I'm so happy that Stacks opened in the Woodbury Center. The new location is crazy busy. It took 30 minutes in line to place an order with 10 people ahead of us. When I got to the front, there was only one cashier. I guess the kitchen couldn't keep up. There were a lot of people who ordered online. So this explains the long wait. It was so exciting to find this spot in the Woodbury Plaza! The line was out the door on Sunday and it was super crowded outdoors. It was interesting to see the workers cater the food out the same door due to it being such a small space. We waited about 20 mins to order and got lucky with a table inside. Our food shortly came and we got the Kalua Pork omelette/burger/breakfast burrito and an Avocado omelette. We also had the ube iced coffee, green tea latte, and POG juice. Unfortunately, we did not like the drinks as much. Both ube lattes were inconsistent with each other and the latte was straight milk. As for the food, it was a 7/10 for us. I assume the pancakes and sweeter dishes were more their specialty over the foods we ordered. We were super happy to have tried out this spot regardless. And while the kids waffle comes with choice of egg bacon or sausage but yall wouldn't let me take the egg option as I don't eat pork..... hopefully losing a loyal customer over such a minor thing was worth it! Went to the restaurant at around 1:30pm today and saw that the place had 2 - 3 tables ( not that busy). Ordered a Chinese chicken salad to go to eat at home. The veggie was fresh, nuts still crunchy, and the sauce was just right. However, the chicken tasted burnt with a strong burnt scent with a strong bitter taste to it. There aren't enough quality dining options around the Great Park in Irvine, so I'm sure locals are stoked that Aloha Stacks has opened at Woodbury Town Center providing a great breakfast/brunch option for all. We visited shortly after the restaurant's opening, so the masses had not yet descended upon this establishment like they have at the other Irvine location. There are tables inside the restaurant but if it's standing room only, you should be able to find seating in the courtyard area which also offers heat lamps if it's cold out. I started with the POG (Pineapple/Orange/Guava) beverage which in my opinion was too concentrated. I took it home and added water to dilute it and it tasted so much better! I love a good Loco Moco and it's nice that Aloha Stacks offers alternatives to the traditional hamburger patty including chicken katsu, corned beef hash or Portuguese sausage. Served with steamed rice and topped with two eggs and brown gravy, all I can say is yum yum! I only wish they included more hash in my order as the portion size underneath the eggs was smaller than I had hoped. I also ordered the Pancake with Bacon from the Kids Menu for my daughter and she finished every last bite! Hawaiian breakfast is always great. Stacks is a chain but this is a wonderful location inside Woodbury. Find it next to Onezo. There is a ton of outdoor seating and limited indoor seating. The menu is the same as other locations and the quality of the food is just as good. Since it is still brand new, expect a 15 min wait for your food. If you order coffee, just know you can get free refills. I may have had two cups while we waited. You cannot go wrong with their Benedicts. The Kalua pork is a nice twist to a classic but just needed a little salt. The potatoes are fried nice and crispy but again, just need some seasoning. The pancakes are massive. Ordered the banana Mac nut which had chopped macadamia throughout. No coconut sauce like Hawaii but was very good. The stack comes with 4 hot cakes. I would suggest the mac nut French toast if it's your first time and the Ube coconut pancake if you want to be adventurous. Nice job, Stacks! Another prime location and good food. read more
