I have been here a couple of times now and have left feeling disappointed each time. This last time around, I went in on a random Monday around 10am. They were definitely constantly busy. The servers can use some serious training on customer service. I mean I ever smiled at one while waiting for my daughter to use the restroom, but instead got an uncomfortable glare. The hot chocolate that we ordered came to the table cold. My mom took one sip and told them. They had two servers come hold the cup and give us dirty looks and be like what do you want us to do. Finally taking it back and bringing another one. The attitude of multiple servers sucked! Not to mention their food was bland. My dish needed everything more. I was hungry so ate what I could, but honestly it was sub par. My daughter's chicken was half on the burnt side. We ended up taking the breading off to give her the bland chicken inside. This place is always packed and I have yet to discover why. Food is mediocre at best and service is subpar.
Great food. Huge servings. The menu is Hawaiian/Filipino-inspired breakfast flavors like ube, guava, spam and Portuguese sausage. They have a small indoor seating area but lots of tables outside. I am very impressed with how clean the outside is. There were always 2-3 people bussing and wiping tables. Amazing! These ladies need a raise! Ordering is easy. They have a giant menu on the wall so if you're not up at the counter yet, you can decide while browsing the breakfast and lunch choices. By the time I finished ordering, a long line had formed around 10AM. Food came out fairly quickly. We ordered: * 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon with pancakes * 2 eggs, Portuguese sausage with pancakes * Loco Moco with spam Everything was delicious and filling! This is the type of place you want to keep returning to so you can try all the different Belgian waffles, pancakes, crepes, fried rice, etc. I really wanted a Belgian waffle but I was so full from my Loco Moco! Next time. :)

Was great! It reminded me of Hawaii. I really enjoy good Ube and they did Ube right. I tried their cow and eggs and the cow beef was spot on. And I had a side of the Ube pancakes and they were decadent. I would recommend for anybody to try them. The service was welcoming. It was friendly and definitely inspired me to want to go back. Thanks for the great breakfast. Look forward to the next visit.
It was pretty crowded on a Saturday morning but line moves fairly fast! Service was great ans they have many tables inside and outside. 1. Loco moco (3/5): the gravy was on the sweeter side to my liking and the meat was a big dry. Not sure if I'll get this again 2. Egg benefit pork (4/5): this one was good but on this day the eggs were not running. They overcooked it a little so I was abit sad about that. The pork was also a bit drier for some reason. Potatoes were good tho!
Sunday brunch and we came at the perfect time no line and we got seated right away. I suggested this spot to my boyfriend while we were doing some Trader Joe's shopping nearby, and it didn't disappoint. He loved the food and said he'd definitely come back to try more items. This place is an OG spot for me growing up in OC, especially around Irvine. We ordered the chicken fried steak and loco moco with drinks iced Milo Dino and an iced latte. Everything was about an 8.5/10. Servers were very nice ! We sat outside and it was a good timing to be seated outside was a perfect weather
Sadly, I was really disappointed with my food this time around. My Guava Toffee French Toast was just okay. I didn't care for the sauce. What was really disappointing was the Spam Musubi. There was way too rice compared to the small slice of spam and piece of seaweed you get. And I could barely taste the sauce, so mine was really dry.
Stacks Pancake House is a great casual brunch spot with a relaxed, welcoming vibe. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, and the setup is simple and efficient--you order at the front counter and take a number if you're dining in, or wait for your food if you're doing takeout. You can also order online for takeout. We ordered the Captain Crunch Nut French Toast, and it definitely stood out to us --perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and just the right amount of sweetness when paired with the syrup. My husband ordered the Prime Rib Loco Moco for $28, a weekend-only special, and it was absolutely worth it. The portion was generous, with a full 12 oz of prime rib served with egg and rice. The food came out quickly, and the service was friendly and efficient. Even my husband, who doesn't usually crave brunch, said we should come back more often. Overall, a solid brunch spot with great food and smooth service. Definitely worth checking out!
Stacks Pancake House reminded me of Aloha Stacks I visited at Mission Viejo and RSM. Similar menu, similar style of ordering and serving. The Culver location has many tables outdoors shared by eateries nearby. I enjoyed the CBH omelette I ordered. It came with a small serving of salsa which is pretty tasty. I had a bite of Portuguese sausage which is good too. There is only one size of coffee available but you can get free refill if you want to take the time to see the cashier at the counter. The ordering line could be long depending on when you arrive. Fortunately it moves pretty fast. We were able to grab a couple of adjacent tables for our large party. Overall it was a good breakfast experience.
The food is amazing! Service, ambience are amazing. The service is prompt! Our food was hot and delicious. This was our first time at this establishment. We will be back!!! Spread the word about this great place!
I'm sad to leave this 1-star review. We have been ordering delivery from the Irvine location for about 6 years. We enjoy the food and our kid loves their French toast. However, we had an issue with a breakfast burrito a few weeks ago that had a big metal piece in it. I almost broke my tooth... It looked like a commercial food bag tied (shown on the picture) fell into the food during prep. I've reached out to the restaurant via their "info" and their Instagram page. I sent follow up email and a message. I waited longer than I probably should have. They didn't bother to respond. It was a simple customer service issue with very simple resolution - reply to the email, recognize the issue and offer a resolution. Instead, here we are... We might or might not order from Stacks Pancake House again, but we feel our patronage wasn't appreciated at all. This is a privately owned business, and we are disappointed in their customer service or the luck there of...
This place is clean and has plenty of seating. Also to mention if inside the restaurant is full there's plenty of seating outside too and the servers will being the food to your table as they give you a number locater to put on your table. The food was so ono (delicious)!!! It came out hot and fresh. The Kalua pork had good flavor with the perfect hint of saltyness to it, as what Kalua Pork should be. The mac salad was on point with the right balance of mayonnaise. The omlette also had good flavor the only downside of the omlette was that it seemed thin. We're used to getting omlettes that are fluffy, but overall the flavor of the Kalua Pork was what made our meal good. The Spam Musubi had great flavor with the Teriyaki sauce glazed on it and the Spam with fried perfectly. We will definitely be back to try out some of the other onolicious looking items on the menu.

The morning after a birthday celebration in Irvine, California, I slept in and texted family on where they wanted to go grab brunch. We selected Stacks. Any breakfast place is generally good, since it generally has majority of what people enjoy at breakfast. Traditional foods and plates makes breakfast the most popular of any meal. Enter Stacks. My family and I came here around 10am on a Sunday morning in September 2026. It was busy but we got a table almost immediately for a table of 4. We probably spent about an hour here before eating and enjoying the food and paying for the food. Truth be told that my weekend in Irvine was nice and too bad I didn't get a chance to extend my stay here. The restaurant itself was small, but it felt like 2x the size of Starbucks cafe, maybe 2.5x the space that Starbucks usually allows. The decor was nice, cool, and felt like it was home for a little bit. We ordered from the breakfast side of things and I had the corned beef hash platter with pancakes. We paid upfront first like a fast food counter. We would take a number thingy and they'd bring the food out in porcelain plates like normal restaurants. I guess it beats having servers to take your orders and other staff to bring out food. Cuts down on dividing up tasks and jobs within the restaurant I suppose. For the most part though, the brunch here at Stacks was good and nice. Definitely good and typical for breakfast and lunch, depending on the time of day you come here. Recommend the corned beef hash. It was cooked beautifully and the eggs were good too. My niece ended up not touching her French fries she ordered so I got to eat those as well. All in all, it was a swell meal here in Irvine before flying home. The overall experience here at Stacks restaurant in Irvine California was good and very chill. I enjoyed the fact that they had a large chalkboard that had had their menu and specials written out. The chalkboard was a nice touch than a digital menu, which stood loud and was large. I don't know if they had paper menus but the chalkboard menu still works since it's large and easy to read and explain to many customers. The food itself was good and definitely worth coming here. The service was generally good and friendly. Stacks is your quintessential place for your breakfast needs and can be budget friendly place to be on a Sunday morning like I was. For the most part though, it was a good place to have breakfast in Irvine, California before heading north to LAX for the flight home. The restaurant itself was clean and quite stylish for a restaurant that seems almost decorative like a cafe. And so, if you find yourself here in Irvine and want breakfast, consider coming to Stacks for your breakfast and lunch. They'll be glad to have you. I definitely recommend coming here, especially the corned beef hash. While traveling, I try to enjoy the finer things in life especially during breakfast time. Stacks restaurant is located in Irvine, California. It's physically located in 1441 Culver Drive in the heart of Irvine. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, there's a good amount of parking here, depending if you get here early enough. We got here early on a Sunday morning to secure a prime parking spot. Best bet would be to come early before the parking lot fills up to capacity. As far as public transportation goes, choose the cheapest option you can to get here to Stacks restaurant. There's always uber and lyft to cater to your needs as well, but not always the cheapest. And so, consider yourself prepared for a good meal here at Stacks restaurant. The pancakes are good and fluffy while the eggs and French fries are delicious and tasty. Do yourself a favor and come here on your next trip to Irvine, California. We've been coming to this place and we really enjoyed it. The service is fast. The servers are friendly and the atmosphere is Old School Cafe. The pancakes are good. The eggs are done right it's a little pricey, but I'm not mad at them. You get great food and the service is good for the two of us for breakfast. Came out to a little bit over $40 so that's not too bad. For satisfying breakfast or lunch this place has an eclectic menu that is bound to please. I love Stacks (all locations)! We decided to go to this one on Culver and I would say the food is pretty similar to the other Stacks locations. This time we ordered the Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs (my usual) and we tried out the new Garlic Loco Moco. The Garlic Loco Moco was yum, but only if you like a strong garlic flavor. If not, I wouldn't order this. The Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs is always great, but I wish the home fries were crispier. The home fries at Aloha Stacks at the Woodbury Town Center are bigger and crispier. read more

Haven't been to stacks in a while, brought my sister here to try their pancakes which were DELICIOUS! The buttermilk pancakes were fluffy, not too oily, and you can adjust the sweetness with maple syrup. I got the breakfast egg burrito which was pretty good, I just think the potato's were a bit too mushy. Salsa = yum. We also got the Katsu Curry, would not order again Let me just say, the portion sizes are amazing for the price! You do order at the counter and it gets crowded. Seating is limited indoors so many sit outside. Would definitely come again to try the Huevos Ranchos plate and the other pancakes flavors!! read more

We are a fan of stacks- this one is only 2nd time we been to this specific location. Overall it was fine. The steak for hibachi steak was not consistent with pieces being cooked enough. So that was a downer. Other than that the staff was friendly, clean place, eggs, spam, and pancakes were good. The musubi was also really good but sort of $$$. read more
I love Stacks, all their dishes are always a hit. This time I decided to try something new and I got the kalua pork eggs Benedict. Each Benedict was filled generously with soft and flavorful kalua pork, which works really well with the hollandaise sauce. The potatoes were also well cooked and delicious. Highly recommend, one of my favorite brunch spots! read more
We went in as a party of 10 and the staff was amazing. I ordered the crab fried rice and Kalua chiliquiles and Mac nut French toast. Omg so good! We was also celebrating my bffs birthday and we brought a cake. The staff was super kind to give us plates and forks for the cake. As someone from Hawai'i, I try not to have high expectations for Hawaiian food. However, I was pleasantly surprised by this place! My friend got the Kalua Pork Omelette and Buttermilk Pancakes. The kalua pork was soft, tender, flavorful, and not too salty. He really enjoyed the potatoes and pancakes as well, saying it "tasted like Liliha Bakery back home". I'm knocking down one star for my order of Spicy Chicken + Bacon Waffle. It wasn't awful, but the combination of flavors was definitely overwhelming and strange. The fried chicken was coated in cheese and spicy mayo, which was way too heavy on top of the thick buttery waffle. The ingredients tasted great individually and would have much much better served separately. I might come back another time and try something more simple/classic, because my friend's dish was great and the workers were really nice. :) read more
Was looking forward to trying this Hawaiian fusion brunch spot but it fell short. You walk up to the counter, order and pay, and someone brings out your food! My pancakes were lovely but my iced macadamia latte tasted watered down. Eggs and bacon were standard. Tried my friend's ube pancakes and was not a fan. The ube sauce is smothered on top and it overpowered the poor pancakes. For the price, everything was just decent. Their savory options look promising so maybe I'll give Stacks another chance next time. read more

Stacks Pancake House is one of our go to spots. First thing I always recommend are the ube pancakes. They are unreal. Fluffy, moist, packed with ube flavor, and topped with this ube cream and whipped cream that is honestly perfect. Sweet but not too sweet. Easily one of my favorite pancake plates anywhere. Next is the Kalua pork omelet. They load it with tons of pork and it has amazing flavor in every bite. The potatoes on the side are crispy, salty, and just really well done. Add a little cholula and it is game over. It also pairs really well with their lily koi drinks which I love. This time I wanted to switch it up and finally try their crab omelet. Same experience. Great flavor and a crazy amount of crab. They actually include a full mini crab on the plate so you get that crunchy bite which was super fun and surprisingly good. I was really happy with it. My wife ordered the crab fried rice which is one of her favorites. The crab freaked her out at first but the rice itself is always flavorful and such a huge portion that she always takes some home. Service here is always quick and everyone is super kind. It is just an easy, reliable breakfast spot that always delivers exactly what you hope for. Always recommend it. read more

First, let me say that the food tastes great. It's the staff that is having issues. They either need hearing aids or customer need to repeat the order to insure accuracy. I just spent $41.60 with tip for an order I did not want. The order taker just looked and tried to explain but she did acknowledge our conversation. Tried this place out on a Saturday around 11:30 AM -- right in the middle of peak brunch rush. It's located in the heart of a super busy plaza, and between the foot traffic and packed parking lot, it was chaotic. You order at the counter and then try to snag a table. I got lucky -- someone was leaving just as I walked in, so I was able to slide into their table right away. Otherwise, it might've been a bit of a wait. I went with my girlfriend and two friends, and between the four of us, we ordered: * Spicy Chicken Bacon Waffle (plus a side of corned beef hash) * Banana Nutella Crepe * Chicken Katsu Plate I'll start with the spicy chicken bacon waffle. I'm someone who really doesn't usually like mixing sweet and savory, but I actually really enjoyed this. We didn't add any syrup, which probably helped, but the spicy sauce paired with the crispy chicken worked really well. The bacon added a good salty crunch that rounded it all out. One thing to note: it came absolutely smothered in cheese, which we weren't expecting. Not a bad thing, but if you're not a fan of cheesy breakfast items, maybe ask if you can get it without. The corned beef hash on the side was a great call -- savory, crispy, and well-seasoned. Just a solid hash, and I'd 100% get it again. As for the banana Nutella crepe -- not a banana fan myself, but I tried a bite and thought the crepe itself was tasty and cooked perfectly. If I were to get it again, I'd probably go with strawberries or another fruit, but it definitely hits the sweet tooth if you're into that combo. The surprise standout was the chicken katsu plate. I didn't expect much from a breakfast joint doing katsu, but it was genuinely really good. Crispy, juicy, and not greasy. It shows they do more than just breakfast well -- their menu has range. Even with the crowd and slow-moving line, I appreciated the vibe. The food came out at a decent speed once we ordered, and everything we tried was well executed. The only downside was the hectic atmosphere -- it's very busy, so just know what you're getting into. That said, I'd definitely come back, just with a little more planning around timing (or on a weekday). Great spot if you're craving both comfort breakfast foods and some curveball options done right. read more

I wanted to try the biscuits and gravy, but it was discontinued. So I got the country fried steak with gravy and eggs. And side of sourdough bread. It was sad the gravy was overpowered with pepper. My friend told me about this place and was raving about how good their ube pancakes are. I get the hype now. I love a good Hawaiian breakfast spot so this really hit. Stacks is the perfect casual breakfast/brunch spot! You wait in line which gives you plenty of time to browse their huge menu of items, order, and then claim a table. They have indoor and outdoor seating! Their breakfast items are Hawaiian inspired and have so many unique flavors to choose from. - Spicy Chicken Waffle: 8.9/10. GET THIS!!! This is my go-to item at Stacks, especially when I can't choose between a savory or sweet breakfast. Spicy, cheesy, saucy fried chicken on a sweet belgian waffle. This offers the best of both worlds. Tastes even better after adding tapatio/hot sauce AND maple syrup. - White lava pancakes: 8.9/10. GET THIS!!! This is my favorite sweet item on the menu. It's banana pancakes topped with a delicious white lava sauce. It's surprisingly not too sweet and you can adjust the amount of sauce you dip each bite of pancake with. Perfect the way it comes. - Fruity Pebbles French Toast: 7.5/10. I love how the fruity pebble crusted french toast comes with a milk like sauce. No need for extra syrup or anything. Perfectly tasty and sweet as is! Definitely on the sweeter side. - Captain Mac Nut: 7.0/10. Captain Crunch coated french toast ?! Such a unique dish. I wish it had a similar milk-like sauce to the Fruity Pebbles french toast because alone it is a little dry or needs syrup for extra sweetener. Came for an early brunch, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I usually get the pancakes or loco moco but I tried the breakfast burrito for the first time. I chose the mixed veggies and it was very filling and healthy! I think next time I want to try the protein option instead but the salsa is refreshing. No, it's a fast casual restaurant so first come first seat; there are indoor and outdoor dining.
Did you change the coconut syrup? The consistency and flavor have not been right the last two times we were there. Embarrassing because we rave about the coconut syrup and took friends. It was really NOT GOOD.
