    Tots with bacon and cheese

We use to frequent this place a lot more often when we lived in the west side. We decided to meet some friends there to watch the national championship game and enjoy some cold beer and food. It was our first time back in awhile and it appeared to have undergone some changes. For starters the service was awesome, they were very prompt and friendly and adjusted tvs around us to watch the game. The only negative was durning the game music was played a fair amount and it would be nice to hear the sportscast during big games as I felt most people were watching it throughout the bar. The food was good for the most part. The cheese logs are old faithful as they are our favorite appetizer, the tots were perfect, the nachos were good however all the middle chips underneath were crumbs like they were out of the bottom of the bag. We also didn't care for the boneless wings as they were more like chicken breast chunks rather than boneless wings so we would stick to traditional next time. Overall our experience with the new place was good but not what we remember. We would go here again when in the area but order a little differently next time.

Loaded tater tots were the best thing I ate there. Wings were ok. I had asked for blue cheese and got ranch, which I didn't care for - tasted like it was straight from a bottle. Lol

What an excellent stop on our trip to Cincinnati! We were in the area visiting friends, and upon landing (we are from NJ), this place was recommended. Our Air BnB was close to Wishbone, so we decided to stop here for a quick lunch and a cocktail. This is not a fancy stop, but definitely served its purpose - cold drinks, TVs with the games, bar food (lots of it fried), and really friendly service. Shout out to Carissa (or Karissa!) for helping us during our visit - she was extremely attentive and a genuine pleasure to have as a waitress. The table ordered the fried chicken sandwich, the BLT, and the grilled chicken sandwich. Both the BLT and the fried chicken sandwich looked amazing, and my party members agreed as such. The fries that came with the BLT, while not handcut, served their purpose for being salty, crispy, potato-y. My grilled chicken sando was ok - it was a bit bland, but to be honest, it was my fault for ordering it. I didn't want anything fried - so just keep that in mind if you are coming here. I would have definitely preferred the BLT or the fried chicken. However, I asked for the crispy brussels on the side and they were excellent - better than the sandwich, actually! I believe there was a loaded crispy brussels app that I would absolutely try the next time I am in the area. For sure, a place to revisit when I am once again in the area!

Blue cheese burger . Caramelized onions and blue cheese were very good. Love the pretzel bun option.

This great place was hidden away in shopping center. Looking for lunch place after football camp at MSJ. Plenty of seating - regular tables and chairs, high tables around the bar area. Lots of big screen TVs with various sporting events on. Immediately greeted by a great waitress. Very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. They have great selection of beer on tap. The appetizers were amazing! Recommend the Brussel sprouts. Looking for laid back great place to have a beer and bite. This is the place. Everything was excellent. Must stop when visiting MSJ!

A bartender harassing my girlfriend because someone walked out on a bill. I've never been here.

Best wings in Cincinnati! The service here is great too! The pot roast sandwich is also a favorite go to! :)

Equally impressive was their food. The pizza was delicious and I had to cut myself off before I over ate. The Buffalo chicken salad was probably one of the best I've had in a long time. I sat at the bar and ordered the cod on marble rye with coleslaw. It was delicious. The cod fillet was generous and nicely breaded. It was crunchy and cooked to perfection. The coleslaw was obviously prepared in house. It was also great. I jokingly asked the lady tending bar if she was Jim or Jack, and she replied that Jim was her last name. I'm not sure if she was joking, but it made me laugh. She was very busy but attentive. I left feeling a lot better than when I went in. I really like this place, and would go back in a minute if I didn't live in Houston. It's just a mile or so down the road from the Anderson Ferry, so if you're flying or driving into Cincy from northern Kentucky, take the ferry and stop at Jim and Jack's for lunch. You won't be disappointed. Please tell Mrs. Jim I said hi.

The portions for even a tasting menu were extremely small. My entee (salmon) came out not hot. Our server was not attentive (never once refilled our water glasses or asked if we enjoyed any of our dishes). Overall we were left with the question of: what is all the fuss about with this restaurant? We will not be back.

What's striking about the restaurant itself is how quiet and calm it feels. With limited nightly seatings and every dinner table doing the tasting menu there's a sort of orchestrated flow that permeates the space. Not to say energy is low or it's so quiet you feel self-conscious talking; it's just that nothing about the experience feels rushed or accidental. As expected, the bread course was phenomenal as was all the food we enjoyed! We opted for the wine pairing along with dinner, which results in about 1.5 or 2 full glasses over the course of the meal. The sommelier did an excellent job introducing and explaining each wine, as well as why it was selected to pair with each course. All told, a lovely experience and one worth repeating--and not just because the menu changes every season.

I was greeted at the door with a small menu to precede the course themes and a glass of delicious sparkling wine. The restaurant was very warm, welcoming, and artistic. The mushrooms on the wall were stunning, and the themed pictures throughout gave it a down to earth feel. Everyone was so kind and the service was impeccable. I started the meal with a hot towel to clean my hands - it was this moment I knew I came for a treat. Each course was brought out in a timely manner, and explained thoroughly. The food was beautiful, complex, flavorful, and hearty. Each dish was crafted so meticulously. I could taste the passion for their craft with each bite. The drinks were also made perfectly. Overall, this was right in line with many Michelin starred restaurants I have dined in. I can't wait to come back and try the dining room menu. I hope that our city can support this restaurant and they will stay for a while. I'd love to come back for the chef's experience again when they seasonally change their menu. Thanks for a memorable meal, Wildweed.

I don't understand the hype around Wildweed…read more We walked in without a reservation and were able to sit at the bar. The bar scene itself was very boring, honestly one of the least interesting bar dining experiences I've had in a while. The food was mediocre and not memorable. The only dish I clearly remember, and probably the only one I would order again, was the watermelon salad. Everything else was fine at best, but nothing stood out or made me want to come back. I'm honestly surprised this restaurant is getting James Beard recognition. There are so many better places in the area, such as Colette, Baker's Table, and most notably Grist in Dayton, that feel far more deserving and seem to be overlooked. It makes me wonder if Wildweed has some kind of connection or ownership that helps it get more attention, because based on this visit, I don't see it.

For appetizers, we got the whipped feta. Delicious, creamy, and perfect for sharing -- but fair warning: avoid the peppers if you're not into a little kick. They sneak up on you! My friend and I split the house salad and WOW. A complete showstopper. So fresh, the vinaigrette was bright and delightful, and those fresh bacon bits? Chef's kiss. It's rare that a house salad stands out like that, but this one absolutely did. Now let's talk about the prime rib. I typically do not like steak or prime rib... but our waitress recommended it as the best thing on the menu, and honestly the Yelp photos had already convinced me. When I tell you it was BOMB -- I mean it. So tender. So flavorful. Perfectly cooked. Paired with broccolini and mashed potatoes, it was a whole experience. To end the night, we shared the apple tart with cinnamon ice cream -- warm, sweet, comforting, and the perfect finish to an already amazing meal. Overall, this was a fantastic dining experience from start to finish. Great service, incredible food, and such a vibe. I cannot wait to come back.
