For the price, it's hard to give it less than 4 stars. Yes, there's lots of hype, but it's a mom and pop style Greek lunch and breakfast restaurant. Mmmmmm thank goodness for strip malls with hole-in-the-wall eateries. My husband and I were on our way to Disneyland, starving because we skipped breakfast. Rather than drop about $50 at Disneyland on lunch for two, I Yelped the area and found Willy's Eatery. I was hooked as soon as I saw the word "Greek." The restaurant itself is more like a cafe - teeny tiny, and terribly charming. The owners were incredibly friendly and greeted us as soon as we walked in the door. The inside of Willy's was packed with various professionals on their lunch breaks, there was only a single table left. We both ordered the gyros plate which came with rice, salad and pita bread. The salads came quickly, very simply put together with a great vinegar/olive oil dressing. The gyro sandwiches were delicious, warm and flavorful. The rice was honestly some of the best I'd ever had - it had a buttery flavor and arrived piping hot. We don't live in the area but would absolutely recommend Willy's Eatery for lunch! read more

This was my first time here with a few of my friends. We were warmly greeted by who I believe is one of the owners. She said that the baklava is her grandmother's recipe, which is a must try! Baklava - fresh and sweet but not too sweet. I usually don't like baklava but this one is delicious. Gyro sandwich - I learned on this visit that gyro is a mix of lamb and beef. It was quite tasty. No traditional spit here but the owner said that she has it special made and ordered from somewhere nearby. The ingredients taste fresh and the sauce is good. Eggs benedict - Delicious as most of the other yelp reviews state. The hollandaise sauce is not overly creamy. All of the ingredients go so well together. I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the ham, but overall, it's among the better eggs benedict I've tasted. The owners are behind the counter, taking orders, and also serving. I guess that's one way of keeping everything consistent and making sure quality is delivered. The restaurant is quaint and literally a mom and pop shop. Parking is easy with a big lot. Thank you Yelp for pointing this place out to me! I was on my way to Disneyland and had no idea where to get lunch before hand. Willy's was one of the first places to pop up on the Yelp mobile app. I'm half Greek myself, so I truly appreciate authentic Greek food. Willy's is run buy an elderly couple; the husband is in the kitchen and the wife is at the counter. I thanked her for the food in Greek and it made her day. I had a gyro and it was perrrrrfect. I also ordered their avgelemono (that's Greek lemon soup to you non-Greeks) and it was just like grandma makes it. Everything is very affordable too. You can easily spend less than $10 a meal and be satisfied. So if you like good food, Greek food, grandmas, or any combination of those you need to eat at Willy's. My friend & I randomly decided to try this restaurant because we were in the area and looking for something new. Don't let the outside appearance or location of the restaurant deter you from trying it out. We were pleasantly surprised by how much we loved the food here! We ordered the Gyro Sandwich & Greek Salad, which I'm told is their most popular dish. The greek salad was pretty average, but the gyro sandwich was so delicious! The gyros were served in pita bread that was super fresh and warm, and topped with tomatoes, onions and tzatziki sauce. The flavors were the perfect combination. It was $7 for the sandwich & salad, which I thought was a little bit pricy given the size of the sandwich. Willy's is a family owned business that's been in the area for 25 years now, and the atmosphere was definitely very friendly and welcoming. The owners were more than happy to provide recommendations for us and had no problem serving us even though we came in just a few minutes before closing. On that note, the one downside is the hours of the restaurant - they're only open Mon.-Fri. from 8:00-3:30 PM. As a college student, my schedule is not flexible enough to allow me to really stop by during lunchtime or any of their other hours, which is really unfortunate. Worth the drive and the wait. 99 cent store next door (not the chain) with the sweetest friendliest helpful-est clerk (owner?) ever, to pass the time while you wait for your food. The owner who may, or may not, be Willy, (I didn't ask) is as friendly and accommodating as can be. Potatoes are excellent, and the kid loved his pancakes. But the star of the show is the ham..never tasted anything like it besides at Gramma's on Easter when a child. Even the kid talked about the ham for hours afterward. My partner and I ordered the bacon egg benedict, salmon egg benedict (both with side of avocado and veggies in our hash brown), and a Caesar chicken salad. I ordered the salad just to get some veggies, but the quality of it surprised me. I was expecting cubed chickens that I see often at other places, but what I got was real shredded chicken breast. This is my go to spot when i'm in Anaheim. Everything i've eaten here is delicious. My go to is the chicken plate, it's a perfectly seasoned plate of chicken served over a bed or rice, served with a salad and pita bread. My husband always gets my #2 choice, the gyro plate. Its more like wrap, also served with a salad. Price wise, completely reasonable and a great deal for the 5 star quality food you receive. The service is also excellent. Tip, its get's very busy between prime lunch hours, 11:45-12:45. If you arrive and see an empty table, grab it. This place is definitely a whole in the wall so seating is slim. Total, you'll get 14-18 inside if people sit along the bar top. There is one table that is usually reserved and and 6-8 people can sit outside. Parking can also be hard to find. There are other food places in the same plaza and the Puddles car wash. read more

Great little greasy spoon joint that is typical for your Greek / Gyro place. We walked in with a large group and they welcomed us with open arms. The folks there were wonderful, friendly, and talkative. The hidden secret here is their breakfast, which is wonderful. Eggs cooked just right. Great place to grab a breakfast. My only passing thought, is that I wish they had gyro meat cooking on a spit. The pre-packaged slices fall short of what I would expect from a true greek/gyro joint. This is a typical mom and pop shop, with the nice homey feeling and genuine care for their craft. The service was excellent and the settings minimalistic, my only complaint is that the food was mediocre at best. We both ordered the gyros and weren't too happy with it. The shaved meat was not fresh, but rather frozen slices that were overly salty. The greek salad that came with it wasn't fresh either and it was had too much cheese on it. Two friends and I were trying to decide between Mediterranean food and traditional breakfast fare, when we found Willy's on Yelp. We aren't from the area but with 4.5 stars and over 570 reviews, we thought we'd found the perfect place. We were wrong. We ordered the Greek omelette (menu says tomato, basil, feta), 2 gourmet omelettes (mushrooms, tomato, cheese, avocado, sour cream), and one of the famous Egg Benedict plates to share (with those potatoes). This was $48. And it took 40 minutes to receive our food. Greek omelette: this had olives inside. I hate olives. I thought about asking, but it wasn't mentioned in the list, so I thought I was safe. The omelette itself was fluffy, though there was no salt or seasoning. The feta was strange - grated? I asked for cottage cheese and peaches/pears instead of potatoes. They were fine; the fruit was canned (which I expected and liked). I received one slice of sourdough toast. Gourmet omelettes: these were basic. Not bad, but bland; nothing special. We wouldn't pay for them again. They had no salt or seasoning. Eggs Benedict with those potatoes: a colossal disappointment. To every single person who wrote this dish was the best they'd ever had - I'm sorry. Maybe this is the best Orange County has to offer, but it's terrible. Come to LA and have some breakfast some time. The hollandaise sauce wasn't good, it wasn't even really okay. It definitely didn't taste fresh or hot. The poached eggs were overcooked and I don't believe the muffins were toasted. If you're going to eat something as decadent as Eggs Benedict, it should be delicious. Don't waste your calories here. Another note: we sat outside and watched a server take a to-go order to the barber next door. She was wearing gloves as she left and when she came back. She used them to open the door of the barber shop. The server who brought our silverware to our table also had on gloves, which seemed like a nice touch at the time. But now I question whether the servers wear the same gloves all day, cross contaminating everything? Yes, this is based on one experience, and yes the staff was nice.
