Nobody was clearing our plates? Nothing worst than going to a restaurant and having to look at your dirty plates while talking to your friends and family celebrating a 69th Birthday. So I start clearing everybody's plates & Even when the manager and staff are talking and watching me clear our party of 15 and not one of them came to help & acted as if it's normal to have their customers clear their own tables ? Ok so I can understand the shrinkflation because this economy, HELLO? The meat portion on my pork pita was outrageously tiny. Compared to a long time ago, it's like a quarter of the portion, but FINE I guess, I'll let it slide even though the pork is hiding behind the slivers of onions. At least it tasted good. The fries are *chefs kiss" But if I am going to draw the line, it's at this. I added a side of tzatziki ordering through Doordash. It cost $5.50. Ok that's fine. Get your bag Kentro, you do you. Amazing Greek food! I saw all the amazing reviews on Yelp and I had to give this place a go! I ordered my food to-go since I was in a time crunch. That could have impacted the quality of the food a bit. I get that not eating it fresh/ right away could change the experience somewhat. However, my food was still great. The veggie pita wrap was fantastic!!! It was so fresh and hearty. I loved all the veggies and hummus. The pita bread was so fresh! The French fries were piping hot and had a nice flavor. Kentro Greek Kitchen serves some delicious food. Food that warrants 4 or 5 stars. Went here for date night and got a chicken pita and a lamb sandwich. Both are fairly priced, come with a generous portion of their signature "kentro fries," and taste pretty good. The service is quick and servers are friendly and reliable. The interior is nice and the lighting is cozy, the vibe is chill and it isn't the busiest place. The only gripe I have with this place is when I was seated, I noticed quickly that the cups and plates that were put on the table for us were dirty and not washed very well. There was food stains and crumbs, and I had to ask for another cup for water. It didn't sit right with me. Would I recommend coming here? Absolutely. It is great food for a decent price and a good sitdown place. Their fries are phenomenal and addictive and the service is amazing. I was perusing yelp to find ideas for a date in the fullerton area and I stumbled upon this place. We went during lunch and I would say that this is a great place to have a 2nd or 3rd date as it's relatively quiet despite being in like the heart of downtown fullerton and the interior is immaculately clean and modern. I myself got the lamb flat bread with the kentro fries. Now for context, I was somewhat under the weather the day we went so take it with a grain of salt, but I would say that the flat bread was pretty decent for the price. My recollection was that the pickled red onions were definitely present in the flat bread. Almost to the point where it was fighting for control of my taste buds. Once you order at the cashier and seat yourself, they'll get you your order relatively fast; however, it might be because we went during non rush time but I think they can be more mindful of the needs and wants of the customers as they were generally behind the counter until some of us had to be more vocal to get their attention Parking wise, downtown fullerton is surprising convenient, it's next to the metro station so there's plenty of parking in the plaza behind it, public parking lots as well as relatively easy street parking too if you know where to look. read more

Kentro is located in the heart of downtown Fullerton on the southeast corner of Harbor and Commonwealth. There is plenty of parking in the lots behind the restaurants on this corner. The entrance is on the rear parking lot side of the building. The restaurant has a nice modern feel. Seating is mostly tables but there are also a few half booths. There is a black granite-topped bar with stacked stone below, which gives the space a classy look. Upon entering, there is a food menu on the wall. Proceed to the register to place your order. There is also a drink menu on the wall behind the register. They give you a number to place on your table and your order will be brought out when it is ready. I ordered the lamb pita and it arrived at my table pretty quickly. The pita was very soft and pillowy. There was a good amount of lamb inside, and the vegetables were extremely fresh. The feta cheese stood out and highlighted an excellent pita. It came with a huge serving of their fries which were thin and crispy with a great seasoning. We got to the restaurant around 11:45 am. And the restaurant was empty, no problem getting a seat. We ordered at the counter and they bring the food to us when they are ready. There are ample of parking behind the restaurant. The ambience is simplistic. If you want refill for your drinks, you have to go up to the counter to get refill. Service is always friendly and excellent. We love the eggplant dip, calamari (it is not fried or chewy, but tender and served with an amazing tomato sauce), beet salad, lamb chops and the makaronia ( like spaghetti Bolognese but with a thicker noodle) and the manori flat bread. 3.5 stars. I've been craving Greek food for a while and I'm glad that we stopped by here. Kentro has a lot of options for lamb and I went with their lamb pita. It was juicy and flavorful. For appetizers, I went with their saganaki and calamari. The calamari was served in a marinara sauce and goes well with bread, but we had to order the bread separately. The saganaki (fried cheese) was nutty and savory, but I would have loved to have it warm and melty and I would have liked to have had it with bread (which I had to order separately). Their fries were thin, crispy, and buttery and they had a nice rich flavor. I also had a roasted corn dish that was buttery and cheesy with some nice char. Overall, we had a few dishes that had some nice flavors; however, service was limited, appetizers were okay, and I'd recommend that you proactively order extra bread if you buy appetizers and/or spreads. read more

We stumbled upon this place by chance and wow was it great! The host greeted us so nicely, you just order at the register and choose where you want to sit. They have a huge menu selection but we tried the octopus and the Spanakorizo. They were so so flavorful! The octopus was so soft not chewy or hard at all! The rice had great lemon flavor. I was very disappointed with my lunch, I ordered the Yemista, the tomato was raw and warmed up with rice inside. I waited about 30 minutes to get my dish and my friend was already finished with hers or I would of sent it back.The fries were not fresh and greasy refried. This place was very disappointing. I went for lunch given the good reviews and I ordered a salad with chicken which they told me had to be the entree salad (more expensive but larger). What I got was the smallest salad with a bunch of pita bread for filler and maybe one strip of chicken shredded to make it look bigger. There was also so much dressing at the bottom that the whole salad was soaked and soggy. Super disappointing read more

Came to eat here on a Monday night around 7:30PM and easily found parking and got seated quickly. Kentro is an establishment where you order your food before sitting down. The restaurant is very clean and nice with music playing softly in the background. There were a few people working in the kitchen and one woman working the main dining area, taking orders and serving food, doing a great job. We had a quiet and intimate dinner here and everything was delicious! Before this visit I had only tried the pitas, but I was so happy I branched out and tried new items that day. It makes me sad to write this review as a 14 year regular who not only eats there often, but sends friends and family there every chance I get. Kentro has changed. It is not about price. Everywhere is more expensive. It is about consistency of product and customer service. On Mother's Day, I received some pretty bad service and I tried to reach out to management through a feedback entry on the Kentro website; I found an email online - wrote to that. I even called and left a message - I have received no response. On Mother's Day, I got slimy rice, very fishy tasting calamari (I think it was spoiled), a weird curdling in my soup, and overcooked lamb. What was meant as a treat for my wife of two toddlers, turned into a waste, throwing food in the trash - and I guess no one at Kentro cares? The past year at Kentro has been weird and now, time to say goodbye; I really think Kentro had a great run but this past Sunday was the straw that broke the camel's back. In my opinion, as you read reviews for this restaurant, it is probably true that you are reading great reviews of a restaurant that no longer exists, a restaurant of the past not the present. It was our first time, but the two ladies working there made our experience easier to navigate through the menu and what was bomb. Food looks and tastes incredibly upscale, while having a casual walk-in restaurant atmosphere. It is, of course, delicious. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Prices are pretty low, considering the quality that you will be receiving. If you don't know anything about greek dish names, then the menu might be a bit confusing, but the staff will help you out, if you ask. We got the calamari, which was made way different, but still equally addictive. The chicken skewers and rice was beautifully plated and yummy. I'm personally in love with their frozen yogurt dessert that comes with pieces of baklava in it. They make the yogurt in house. However, we still got a piece of baklava on its own. But I got their house Greek salad, which was well dressed and had lots of onion, tomato and cucumbers. No protein included but Very refreshing! Went here on a Friday night and it was fairly busy. It has a good laid back vibe. OK about the food Calamari 2/10: part of it was my fault for assuming it was gunna be fried. It's not fried, and the menu doesn't say it isn't fried. The calamari was BARELY cooked, it was almost see through, and you can still see the purple dots on the skin so it's almost raw. I was driving past last night and wasn't surprised to see that Kentro in DTF was completely gone...signs torn down and empty. I immediately came to the Yelp and saw it is permanently closed and then to the website. My family and I came for 15 years. It sort of felt like losing an old friend. But here's the kicker...Kentro management left behind a sappy note on their website about how they served people through family events, graduations, yada yada...blah, blah, blah. A couple months ago in May, my husband and I got the worst food and worst customer service we had ever encountered here...food that smelled fishy, curdled soup, small portions, overcooked lamb....after giving our business here for FIFTEEN years, it was a terrible experience. We loved it here. Naturally, wanting to fix the issue, my husband called management......no response.....then emailed management......crickets......then I Yelped......nothing. How shameful. If this is a business that is going to start franchising (per their sign inside), then maybe they should show they give a damn about 15 year long customers who spent thousands upon thousands there and recommended it to everyone. When you start letting your business go like this, when customer service goes to the back burner, and when you neglect the people you are serving, it is absolutely no surprise the business cannot carry on. I absolutely feel that something else was going on here besides an "expired lease". Very very sad Kentro. Clearly, you didn't care for your customers the way your customers cared for you. This has been one of the longest standing restaurants in Downtown Fullerton, and for a good reason-- consistently amazing specialty greek food. I've been here a few times years back in highschool, and recently brought my boyfriend to experience their food. Food: I got the charbroiled seabass, and he got the lamb burger. Both were PACKED with flavors and textures that complemented each other and we both scraped our plates clean. He ordered his burger medium, which is what one of the servers recommended, and it was perfect. The bun was so soft and fresh, and the pickled onions gave the burger a little bit of a spice kick which paired really well with everything else. The house fries are also to die for, they're tossed in zataar seasoning, cheese and butter and I would recommend even ordering a side on its own! The seabass has a perfect sear, and had lots of beautiful color throughout the entire plate. Service: Our server, Paulette was super fun, attentive, and kind. She had a really good understanding of the menu which ultimately helped us decide what we wanted. There was another younger Asian guy who was great as well but we didn't get his name. Ambiance: Super cute and cozy date/brunch spot. It honestly wasn't busy when we came in around 3pm, there were only three other tables but they were all of different ages and backgrounds so I'm sure everyone would love this spot! I can't believe I haven't written a review yet for this place! My fiancé and I discovered Kentro's about 6 months ago and we are in love! We have been there one week ever since. The food is absolutely delicious! We are big fans of Mediterranean and haven't found a place better than this. The prices are reasonable, the ambiance is chic and clean and the service is excellent. We usually have an early dinner on Friday afternoons there and have noticed we feel good and satisfied for the rest of the day. I've been coming to this restaurant since they first opened and have always loved it, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I almost always order the lamb burger and have for years. This time I asked if I could add extra cheese to it something that is a very normal request at almost any restaurant. I made it clear I was completely fine paying an additional charge. Instead, I was immediately told they couldn't do it because "there's no option on the screen to add extra cheese." The staff kept repeating that they couldn't do it because the system didn't allow it. After going back and forth, they eventually told me the only way they could give me that cheese was to charge $8 because that type of cheese comes with an entirely different dish. So essentially, adding a small amount of cheese to a burger would cost $8 because of how their POS system is set up. What made the situation worse was the attitude. I was treated like I was being unreasonable for asking a very simple request. Instead of trying to accommodate a loyal customer or find a basic solution, the response was essentially "that's just how it is." It felt incredibly rigid, trivial, and honestly unnecessary. I've supported this place since the beginning and have always recommended it to others, so it was surprising to have such an unpleasant interaction over something so minor. I hope management takes situations like this seriously and empowers staff to use common sense rather than hiding behind a computer system.
