I went with family at noon on a weekend, and the wait was thankfully only a few minutes given that this is a small restaurant. We decided to share both the charbroiled chicken shish kabob ($19.99) and the fresh Atlantic salmon kabob ($22.99). Each kabob entree comes with salad and rice. We chose a variety: romaine avocado salad, Mediterranean Greek salad, basmati rice, and bulgur pilaf (a nutty cracked wheat simmered usually with tomato paste). The salmon was my favorite kabob because it was juicy and flavorful. However, we only got five chunks, which is unfortunately not a good portion size for a dish costing more than $20. The chicken had a great smoky flavor with some char, but the meat didn't feel as tender as I hoped. We decided to try bulgur pilaf for the first time, and it tasted better than the basmati rice because it was simmered in a tomatoey broth. Service was good, and there was a moderate amount of waiting for food. Our server refilled waters and was friendly with other customers. Looking back, we thought that both kabobs didn't have much meat because the entree includes a salad. Great food, but the service was the worst. One server in particular, a blonde girl, was extremely rude. I asked her for a to-go box and she rolled her eyes, said "sure," and then never brought it. After that, every time she walked past our table she completely ignored us. I understand servers have to multitask and get busy, but repeatedly ignoring your table isn't acceptable. Also I asked for well done and one piece of meat was medium. The service was too slow on this particular day. I had to get up and ask for the check. The waitresses and cashier were very pleasant and friendly. The inside is small, and there's also a little patio up front which seems nice. The food itself though is a little lacking in flavor. This Brea location is found right next to pho ha, and has a small outdoor patio with seating for about 12 The interior is also cozy, seating about 20. This used to be a gyukaku Japanese grill. I placed my order via their website for the first time and it was so seamless! Because they prepare everything fresh; there is usually a 20 min wait once you order is placed. I give it a 3 based on the meal I ordered, but would give customer service alone 5 stars. I ordered the chicken Caesar wrap. It came with a side salad ( I chose Greek), and hummus. I will say that service was very friendly and the salad portion was huge. However, the salad was mostly greens with minimal other ingredients and very little dressing. The hummus texture was a bit gritty compared to most versions I've eaten elsewhere. Flavor was decent though. The wrap was not good to me. The chicken was so juicy but a smaller portion to the ratio of the wrap. I hated having super hot lettuce in the wrap. I also didn't taste the dressing in my bites. I placed a large pick up order for my Dad's birthday, my parents picked it up in Brea and came to my place in Irvine bc they love the Brea location (even though there is a PKG down the street from me). Part of the order included a hummus trio. Thankfully this was after my Dad's birthday lunch, but when I later was enjoying the leftover hummus with carrots and bit down on a piece of METAL! I called the Brea location immediately and spoke to a manager and she was unapologetic and just provided me an email. Sent the email that same day and got no response. To just confirm they got the email I called the following day and spoke to the same manager. She again, was unapologetic and said her and the GM saw the email together but gave no resolution. I was told by Monday I could get an answer due to days off between them both. At the time of our arrival we noticed how busy it was for a Saturday so we can understand waiting outside before being sat down. One of the cooks from the back was actually the first person to acknowledge us after waiting the first 5 minutes and went to grab someone. We were sat inside and ordered within the time our waiter returned to get our drinks out of the way. We waited a good 30 minutes and noticed another couple sat behind us and ordered the same meal within 15 minutes and finished their food as soon as we began eating, this was due to the "beef" taking longer to cook but the chicken was sitting on the window for a while when they brought us both plates. First thing to catch our attention was how hot the beef was and how barely warm the chicken was. I'm no cook but i'm pretty sure it's know beef cooks faster than chicken, still doesn't make sense that the couple behind us ordered the same meals along with wine and were in and out less than 40 minutes meanwhile we waited almost 50 minutes just for our food and made us late to an event. Beyond disappointed with the food I received in my pick up order. I placed an order and was told it would be ready at 8:13pm. I arrived at the restaurant at 7:59 and my order was already sitting there bagged. She said it was ready in 10 minutes when I was told 30. I had ordered the family meal with a side of pita bread. The bread was hard as a rock, none of us ate it. The rice was half soft, half stale/hard. The salad had too much water inside the packaging, so it made the little bit of dressing they give really watery and the salad was a complete waste. NONE OF US ATE IT! Lastly, they give you so many vegetables on the chicken kabobs that they look full, but the actual pieces of chicken are much smaller, squished between giant pieces of tomato. Why would I want 9 huge pieces of tomato with teeny tiny pieces of chicken in between!? I also asked for utensils and was not given any. I prob won't be back. There are better Mediterranean options in the area, don't waste your money! For the price of your food you guys really need to GET IT TOGETHER. read more
