One of the wonderful things about Pita Hot is that you can order dishes a la carte. I got a side of shawarama meat with tahini and a medium tabbouleh, and the portions were great!!! Behold: a gorgeous, fresh tabbouleh shawarama salad. I also ordered one of their coffee drinks for the first time. I really liked the cardamom latte: it was at a great price point, and not too sweet. I will definitely be coming back!

But where Pita Hot sets itself apart from those places is the community. When you walk in, you're greeted with smiles, a question about how your day is, and if you've been there a few times, a quick "how's the wife and kids?" Although some people may see the price tags and wince, they do not skimp on portions. They will fill your plate to the absolute brim, give you one huge pita, and send you on your way. The flavors on the food are nothing to scoff at either. The hummus, tabbouleh, and beef skewer are absolute hits. Flavorful bites with the perfect amount of balance between the acidity of the tabbouleh, the light and rich hummus, and the meatiness of the beef. The shrimp skewer is tasty as well but not something I think I'd get again. The rice pairs well with everything, and as I've mentioned before, the humongous pita they give you is delicious as well. A three skewer plate is enough for two people! All in all, Pita Hot has been around this long for a reason. Their business model and recipes are tried and true. Overall, 9/10.

Literally saw the sign while walking and I have no regrets!…read more First off, the ambience is beautiful. The dim lighting and candles are super romantic. I got a seat with a bit of sunlight coming in from the window and that felt like the perfect touch. Avery is so kind. She immediately mentioned the Soup of the Day and the blend for the herb water and I knew I had to get both! They rotate both out every single day depending on what they have on hand, which is a great indicator that they source their ingredients fresh. The soup was puréed eggplant with a coconut milk or cream base and it was the creamiest eggplant dish I'd ever had in my life. Very smooth, no seeds. I didn't even know eggplant could get to that consistency. It's a beautiful soup and I would come back just for that. Arabic tea was not as strong as I'd had in other restaurants but for a nice dining place like this, I think it's good that it wasn't so bitter. Maybe it's also because I dunked a whole packet of honey in mine beforehand Beef stew was great. There were only a few beef chunks but if you're a fan of the vegetable you're choosing (I love zucchini so that worked out well for me), then it's a perfect portion for one. I can't believe I've just been passing this gem behind for so long! Will definitely come back with some company next time around.

Here my go to is usually the lamb Jairo or the lamb chops but lately I've been trying to try different things. I am happy I chose to do this as I have found items that I have loved that I just hadn't tried. I had this year tuna one day and it was really good. It was perfectly cooked and it had a good sauce but the one item that I was honestly surprised was the half roasted chicken. I tend not to order chicken at restaurants because I am worried that the chicken will be dry, but that was definitely not the case here. The chicken was really good and I will definitely get it again. My boyfriend tried it and he wanted to switch dishes, but I absolutely did not allow him to. The chicken was just very juicy and tender. For the sides, I used to always get hummus, but I didn't know that they had an eggplant dip similar to baba ghanoush. Now that I have tried it, it is my go to. You can really taste a roasted eggplant in there and the texture is similar to hummus. My other go to side are the artichoke hearts because they are so big they are roasted and it's a good portion. Overall this remains to be one of my favorite restaurants in the area and I will be back.

This Greek spot in Orange County has decent Mediterranean cuisine. The dolmades are alright, but…read morethe sauce could be better. The spanakopita is mediocre, not remotely as good as what our family makes at home. But the Feta Fries are incredible! That's my best recommendation here! The lamb dishes and various kabobs are also pretty good. The restaurant is in a great location in the heart of downtown Brea, and the service is excellent! But the Olive Pit isn't going to wow you as much as some of the best Greek restaurants in SoCal.

Great service, friendly environment and delicious food, what more can you ask for?…read more We got the falafel platter appetizer, solid first course and definitely shareable with 4+ people. The pesto was preferred over the Bolognese. The Mediterranean salad was tastier than the Caesar. The meat lovers is a good option if you're indecisive. I usually love Panini Grill and count on them for consistent food and service, but my first visit…read moreto the Brea location today was a total mess. My friend and I had lunch on the patio and waited a solid 30 minutes just to get water. The service was painfully slow and careless; tables around us were left uncleaned, and when our food arrived, we had no utensils. After asking the food runner and waiting around while our meals got cold, my friend finally had to get up and track down silverware herself. When the waiter finally acknowledged us, he literally threw the utensils onto the table. Then, when we asked for extra napkins, he actually put his hand up to block us and just walked away. I was so shocked by the blatant rudeness that I called for the manager. While the manager apologized and gave us a free dessert, a sweet treat doesn't fix a total lack of professionalism. If employees hate being there that much, they shouldn't be working in hospitality! Management is also to blame by keeping them employed. When reading some of the other reviews, seems like service is really lacking here and the waiters have major attitude problems. The food is always great, but this type of behavior and level of disrespect makes me never want to come back. I will take my money elsewhere.
