The customer service was just as amazing as the food. It's rare to find a food spot in a mall that's this good, but this place definitely stands out. Kebab Lab inside the Brea Mall gets an absolute five stars! We were hanging around and doing some shopping inside the mall and started getting hungry, so we headed to the food court. We decided to try this Mediterranean kebab spot since it looked really healthy. Honestly, since it's just a stall in a mall food court, I went in with pretty low expectations and was preparing for mediocre food. We ordered the chicken and Lule plate with rice and salad to share, plus a side order of dolma. It did take a little bit of time to get our food, but that's because the chef was literally making the kebabs fresh to order on the open grill with real fire and everything right in front of you. Let me tell you, it is absolutely worth the wait! I have to say, this is probably some of the best kebab and dolma I've had in my entire life. The chicken was flavored perfectly and cooked to absolute perfection, not dry at all, which is amazing because chicken kebabs are usually super dry. The Lule was also perfectly seasoned, cooked to perfection, incredibly moist, and insanely delicious. The dolma was soft, perfectly seasoned without being overly salty, and you could actually taste the rich filling as well as the freshness of the grape leaves. Nothing was overpowered by excess salt or heavy spices; the intrinsic flavors of the high-quality ingredients really shined through. I was completely, pleasantly shocked by the caliber of the food and the incredible flavors coming out of a food court stall. The portion sizes are really generous, too! The two of us shared the single plate plus the dolma appetizer and walked away extremely full. If you are at the Brea Mall food court, this is hands down the only place you should be eating at. We saw this place open up at the Brea Mall food court. They have a large Halal neon sign, which attracted us. My husband ordered the burger while I ordered their chicken kebab special. There was a ton of food given for the price. You get to pick if you want rice or fries with the special. You receive a full skewer of chicken kebab along with two pieces of pita. The chicken was super moist with flavor. Although I did not take a bite out of the burger, my husband mentioned multiple times of how fully loaded it was and how much he was enjoying the taste. So happy we have a new business in the food court. Especially now that I can order some delicious Kebab and juicy chicken meal. I've tried 3 times now with their family meal. Pick two proteins, comes with rice, a huge order of hummus, and tabbouleh. The one thing that I'm wondering is the type of rice that comes with the meal, I'm use to the type that's a bit more fluffier, longer grain, and has sometimes saffron/cumin... but this one is a bit more wet, shorter grain, and no seasoning. Maybe this is another particular version of rice? I usually eat the Tahdig version with this type of food. Overall the meat is tender, juicy, hits the spot. No complaints there, I could eat here once a week and wouldn't be tired of it. The sides went well with the rice, and I've never seen such large sides with the family meal. read more

And we're sure glad we did because it exceeded our expectations and will definitely make it a regular stop whenever we come to Brea Mall! Even though it's a restaurant that's part of the food court, the hospitality was top notch. Oh man our food took forever to get. We ordered the steak and chicken plate and our order got lost amongst the others. I figured it's a new place and they still have to iron out some kinks. When we sat down to finally eat our plate the steak was 90% all fatty pieces, and the chicken was fatty as well. I was in the food court and decided to give it a try. They advertised a $10.99 special for a single skewer, beef or chicken, which comes with rice and flatbread. I ordered this, specifying chicken, which was verified by the cashier and printed on the receipt. After calling my number, I picked up the food and went to my table, and I discovered it was beef. I took it back and inquired whether "chicken" is supposed to look like beef. They said "This is Order #77" as if I'm an idiot and this is the right order. I insist that it's wrong, then they finally admit the mix-up and they say "It'll take 10 minutes for a new order". OK fine - but no compensation, not even an apology? After the additional 10 minutes, I get my corrected order - it's fine, but I don't like the texture of the chicken that much, and it comes with a white sauce instead of the green sauce shown in the pictures - if there's a sauce choice, the cashier should prompt the customer. All in all, I'd rather go to Baran (if I have enough money) or to a kebab shop that's within a store (like Wholesome Choice). Not coming back. read more
