This was my first time to this restaurant. While it was very nice on the inside they seated us under the wall air conditioner. I was freezing as it was blowing cold air directly on me. My group all felt the blowing air and we asked if we could move to the next table or turn the air down. She said that they can't turn the air down and she did move us to the next table but seemed a bit annoyed with us. The food came quickly and was average. Two of the meals, Chicken Parm, were tender but had an overcooked cheese top. My scampi's was extremely bland and I had to salt it quite a bit. Eggplant Parm was very good. We never got drink refills and had to ask. Since we are a party of 6 they added the tip which I am never a fan of. I want to tip based on my specific service. We did feel a bit rushed and the staff is not overly friendly. I feel like they could have invested themselves more into making our experience the best it could be. All in all I would return, as I love the atmosphere but I will order differently and ask to not be seated under the air unit.

Lunch at Violas. Friendly staff great food. Good size portions- yep we have leftovers. I had the chicken Marsala with angel hair pasta. The chicken was very tender and yummy. Wife had chicken Parmesan with pasta. We ordered their garlic bread excellent and a side of spinach. Both good For dessert their tiramisu really good definitely recommend this. Plenty of parking- yep a very popular place and worth visiting. So 5/5.

Earlier than normal, and quite honestly the perfect time for an early table. Calamari was good, the sliced fried peppers are an added treat that cut through the breading just right. The Redfish was perfectly cooked and my Piccata was absolute perfection. The angel hair pasta was cooked just right. Really, everything was very good. We were an early table and maybe between shifts, but we felt ignored. Easily added 30+ mins to our visit. Can't give top marks on this visit, our first. But not last. Next time we're in the area!

Delicious! Service was super friendly and very professional- almost formal. I do wish they cleared our table more often or quicker because our table wasn't large. The mussels were tiny but the flavors were good. Calamari was fried perfectly. The clam linguine was plentiful and delicious. The aperol spritz was not my favorite but the Pinot noir always works. Ambiance - it's dark and loud, lots of Italian decorations and very crowded.

Absolutely phenomenal dinner at Viola's Italian Restaurant - 5 stars aren't enough! We've been coming to the St. Augustine area for years and somehow never made it to Viola's until Friday afternoon, huge mistake on our part, because this place is a gem. From the moment we walked in, the cozy, family-run vibe wrapped around us like a warm hug. Our server (shout-out to Maria!) was an absolute delight - knowledgeable, funny, and perfectly attentive without hovering. Now, the food. Holy wow. Started with the **Lobster Bisque** and I'm still dreaming about it. Rich, velvety, loaded with lobster meat, and that perfect sherry finish that makes you close your eyes on the first spoonful. Hands-down one of the best bisques I've ever had, and I've chased lobster soup from Maine to Key West. For my entrée I went with the **Mango Blackened Redfish** and... are you kidding me?! Perfectly blackened crust with that signature Cajun kick, gorgeous flaky redfish underneath, and then this bright, tropical mango salsa that somehow ties the whole plate together like magic. The sweetness of the mango cuts through the heat in the most brilliant way. Came with garlicky green beans and the creamiest risotto I've had outside of Italy. I cleaned the plate and seriously considered licking it (I showed restraint... barely). Everything feels fresh, made-from-scratch, and served with genuine pride. Portions are generous, prices are shockingly fair for the quality, and the wine list has some lovely Italian selections by the glass. Viola's isn't just a restaurant - it's the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. If you're anywhere near St. Augustine, do yourself a favor and go. We'll be back sooner than later (probably next weekend, let's be honest). Thank you, Viola's, for an unforgettable meal!

Italian subs are my favorite and this one is very nice. They used spring mixed greens and a rustic Italian roll generous enough portion. I did not eat inside the restaurant. It was takeout, but I would definitely go back the garlic knots and the antipasto salad were also fabulous.

Always great food and service! Always make a reservation, as they are steadily busy. Their pizza, cannoli, and seafood are also great.

Viola's was a hit. The food was great. The service was excellent, and the ambience was nice. This was our first trip to Matanza and my wife loved her pasta and meatballs. The garlic knots were great. I had the shrimp scampi and it was excellent. The best part was the dessert. I have inside information that the chef over at back 40 A1A supplies desserts to some of the finest restaurants in the neighborhood. We had the fried cheesecake. Was without question probably the best dessert I've had in five years or more. Highly recommend recommended.

Went to Violas on Sunday. Was able to make a last minute reservation. Stated with the bruschetta which was good and then ordered the special of seafood and saffron risotto. My wife ordered the cod in a Mediterranean sauce. They both were very good. Our server kept checking on us and did a great job.

Initially told a 45 minute wait but she'd get us a drink if we wanted to wait. We agreed... she brought us a drink and within 5 minutes said, there's a seat at the bar if you want to sit there! We took her up on that - and ended up paying for our drinks ourselves since we didn't wait. But the bartender was pleasant, the food was plentiful, and very good. We'd return.

Lauren was excellent! Great customer service. Even better food. Four of us had different meals. All were delicious. Plenty of food. Garlic bread was tasty! Lots of seafood and Italian food options. We were not disappointed on our first visit. This would be a regular spot if we lived in the area. Highly recommended! Fun little place. Friendly staff.

This restaurant is a hidden gem! We had a reservation and the hostess was quick to seat us. Our waitress was incredible and had a great attitude that immediately brought a smile to my face! Our food was amazing and very fresh, although a little lacking in seasoning for my taste but I just have different tasebuds. Nonetheless, the food was delicious and I was able to finish my chicken piccata in one sitting without feeling sick (as pasta usually makes me a bit tired). The fish was fresh and cooked to perfection however the vegetables were a bit plain tasting in comparison. The restaurant was small but had ample space with dim ambient lighting. The music was a tad louder than the average restaurant so I had to repeat myself a few times but it wasnt that much of an issue. If im ever in town, Id visit violas again :)

The crab bisque fries were crispy and the bisque tasty. The lobster ravioli was SO good. I usually do not like cheese with seafood but this worked perfectly. It was creamy, savory, slightly sweet from the crab and shrimp cheese sauce it comes in which perfectly complemented the very stuffed lobster ravioli. The fish and wedges were really good too. Fish was meaty and crispy, wedges tasted roasted instead of fried and the coleslaw was creamy, crunchy and sweet. As a bonus, the tartar sauce was good too. Our server (Josh?) was very attentive, polite, friendly and quick. The menu isn't huge but I would come back if I'm in the area again. For the seafood feast, we ordered scampi style and it was good, but it reminded me of a clam sauce style, not really buttery and garlicky. It was still good, but what disappointed me was the melted plastic bag served at the table. It was difficult to open, even our server had trouble opening. Idk why everyone loves serving food in plastic bags. It's sooo hot from the steam that plastic leaches into the food. I don't get the infatuation with this, unless you're ordering to go. From bow to stern (nautical theme here) this was just a bad experience across the board! Our waiter had zero personality and acted as if he really didn't want to be there, the food was bad, and the cost was far more than the value provided. A rainy Sunday night and not very crowded - maybe 4 - 5 tables, but somehow our food managed to get lost in the kitchen and we waited way too long for food that was (in my case) completely inedible. My wife ordered the fresh catch halibut dinner grilled, and I ordered a blackened grouper sandwich. Both entrees were heavily salted; my wife tried to wipe the seasoning off her filet, which was at least decent sized. My sandwich contained the thinnest, saltiest piece of fish I'd ever been served, and I only managed a couple bites before giving up. My wife's filet wasn't fully cooked, and since we weren't eating sushi-grade fish, my wife was concerned about that. When she told our waiter he barely glanced at her plate and his response was "That's cooked. Some people are just finicky about the texture." "Finicky??" Are you sh**ing me?? How about saying "I'm sorry, would you like me to have it cooked more?" She also pointed at my sandwich and said that it was so salty I couldn't eat it, and all he said was "I'll be back." At least he didn't tell me I was being "finicky". The manager came over shortly after and explained that our server told him we weren't pleased with our meal. My wife explained the issues and his response "Too salty? I know who that is. One of our guys over-salts a lot. I'll talk to him." He then apologized and offered to get us something else, but I declined and said I was done. He vaguely pointed at our food and said he would "discount it". While we waited for the bill my wife took what was left of her fish to the house cat sitting on the patio, and the cat wouldn't even eat it! I'm sorry Mr manager, but if you know that one of your employees has issues with preparing food correctly... either educate them or replace them! Don't apologize and admit you're aware of bad food coming out of your kitchen! And then the topper - our bill came and a whopping $13.50 was discounted from almost $90! He didn't even take off the full cost of my sandwich which was still sitting on my plate! We usually try to give benefit of the doubt to restaurants, but this experience was bad enough that we both agreed we will NOT return. This is a prime example of why zero stars should be allowed!
