    Mahi-salmon seafood spread

Was here twice in the same day. First time for cocktails at the bar and the second for dinner. Both experiences were very good! The first time we were served by Angel at the bar and she made rum runners on the rocks & my wife had the mango paradise. Both were very refreshing! So much so we had several each as we watched the Cubs on TV. Fly the W! Angel and the vibe at the bar is very chill & welcoming. Our second encounter was for dinner a couple of hours after our first encounter and even at 8:30PM there was still a wait. We actually ate outside at one of the booths where its first come first serve. This time we just had a couple of beers each along with our entrees. I had the Seafood Combo which was trigger fish & shrimp (blackened) with 2 sides (fresh greens beans & cole slaw). My wife had the Sunset Shrimp Pasta Bowl which had 9 pieces of shrimp in a cream based sauce which she said was fantastic! We also got a free t-shirt for our efforts! Woohoo! If visiting St. Augustine Beach give the Sunset Grille a try!

The best Clam Chowder I've had in a while. Super creamy and thick, not watery at all. Loaded with real clam meat, potatoes. Rich, savory, and perfectly seasoned - not too salty. Not fishy at all. Tried the Grilled, Blackened Seafood Combo-once is enough for me

This is one popular place, we got here right at dinner prime time, but only had to wait about 10 min to get in. They also have a bar area which is first come first serve. Huge bar with plenty of drinks and beers. They have TVs all over the place, so you can easily catch the big games. Plenty of seating, even rooftop, which was packed and a long wait. The food was tasty, not amazing, but good. My fish was overcooked, but the delicious grits made up for it. The tortellini was good, as was the coconut shrimp. The fiesta fish bowl was just okay, over cooked fish again. Overall it was a good experience, and I can see why it's so hyped up here in St. Augustine.

Bill and the waitress was pleasant.

Stopped for a quick drink and snack. Regular margarita was substandard, tasted like cheap sour mix. Spicy Bloodmary was good but not spicy. Order of chicken wings, good flavor but needed to be crispy. Couple of draft beers 5.50 a piece a bit pricey for around here. Overall, nothing special, but will do if you have limited options. Waitress was nice.

Service is great. Waitress was attentive as well as the other workers. Food is ok. We had a large party and everyone felt the same regarding their food.

If you're looking for that perfect beachside spot in St. Augustine, Sunset Grill never disappoints! The Sunset Salad is hands-down one of my all-time favorites--the fresh ingredients topped with their dreamy Key Lime dressing is pure coastal perfection. The food here is always quality, the portions are generous (trust me, you won't leave hungry), and the vibe is relaxed yet lively.Jessica is one of our favorite servers--always friendly, upbeat, and quick with a smile. The beers are icy cold, and if you're in the mood for something fun, their espresso martinis are absolutely delish. Between the consistently great food, the super clean atmosphere, and the laid-back beachy feel, I can honestly say I absolutely love this place. It's the kind of spot you can count on every single time.

    Clam chowder fries (must try)

Can't go wrong with anything on the menu, everything was a hit! Omg the clam chowder fries were BOMB, we got them on a whim because we were cold and wasn't expecting them to be so addictive, no wonder they're award winning. I got the cheese tortellini entree, the alfredo sauce was super rich and flavorful. And of course I had to get the famous peanut butter pie that everyone says to try, soooo rich and you can tell that it's homemade.

It was raining when we dined here so it is hard to rate the ambiance but overall it gave beach bar/restaurant. The food was amazing! The oysters were a stand out. The blackened fish and shrimp were great. Perfectly cooked baked potato. Our waitress was very attentive so I would give the service 10/10.

3 Service- Host was busy but nice. Server was full of energy and helpful. Vibe- Fun eclectic vibe, ate outside in the top floor and it was nice, although a limited view on the side. Good- Crab and artichoke bisque was good- nice flavor. Seafood platter left a lot to be desired. Fish was great, however the shrimp were chewy and lacked any sort of flavor and were left behind. Shrimp scampi- it was brown. It was an odd and thick sauce. Fish sandwich- my son liked, crispy. Lobster Mac and cheese- macaroni was ok, lobster was not fresh and chewy. Also sadly left behind. We did not complain- too late in the day and were kinda over it. Just manage expectations.

The outdoor area is seat yourself and I picked a high top table that allowed me to enjoy the nice breeze. Abigail was my server and answered my questions while also giving me suggestions. I started with the sunset oysters that were filled with spinach dip type of filling. They were flavorful and satisfied my craving for chargrilled oysters. I asked Abigail which fish she suggested between the grouper and the trigger. She said she likes the blackened trigger fish more and I took that suggestion. There are not a lot of side options, I selected the green beans and black beans with rice. I've never had trigger fish and didn't know what to expect. It has a similar texture to tilapia and the sauce on top gave an extra layer of flavor. The sides were ok, nothing to brag about. Next time I think I'll sit upstairs to enjoy the great view.

    Key Lime Pie yummy

Lunch at Sunset. Great food and friendly staff. Plenty of parking. Wife and I shared the chicken salad pita with fries. Yummy. Also shared their Key Lime ‍ pie so good. Yep it's a 5/5.

We appreciated the old-school St. Augustine Southern hospitality that has been lost since the inevitable growth of the area. You definitely can't go wrong with their Fried Shrimp and Chicken Wings (loved the flavors of that buttery Garlic Parm)! Both seasoned and cooked to perfection. My daughter got the stuffed flounder with corn casserole as we called it, as her side. It was delicious! Probably the best thing ordered! Tacos and kids grilled fish was great too! Definitely a solid amount of fish nuggets in the taco. The fries were some of the best ive ever had. For the seafood feast, we ordered scampi style and it was good, but it reminded me of a clam sauce style, not really buttery and garlicky. It was still good, but what disappointed me was the melted plastic bag served at the table. It was difficult to open, even our server had trouble opening. Idk why everyone loves serving food in plastic bags. It's sooo hot from the steam that plastic leaches into the food. I don't get the infatuation with this, unless you're ordering to go. The fans upstairs are a nice and necessary touch and not too hot up there, despite being summer in July. I would go back and order the stuffed flounder again! Seriously, that was the best thing we ordered. Ashley was johnny on the spot too!

I'm accustomed to the batter being too greasy (cooked too long or left in too low a temp), or the fish being mushy or overcooked. This sandwich was neither of those things! The fish was firm, flaky, and delicious, and the fried batter was the best I've had in at least two decades. All of the toppings (lettuce, tomato, onions, lettuce) were fresh and crispy. The house tartar sauce was superb! Just enough dill to add tangy seasoning and not overbearingly sweet, like most tartar sauces. I was so impressed that I actually wanted to meet Randy, who prepared that amazing meal. Add to that the service provided by Brendan, our waiter, who was legitimately friendly, very knowledgable, and super- attentive! The outside was perfectly cooked, nice crunch with a delicious flavor, but some areas of the haddock were little over done. The French fries were good, but a bit on soggy side. The founder was stuffed with their crabcake mixture. The flounder was a little over cooked for my liking but everyone has their own preference. From bow to stern (nautical theme here) this was just a bad experience across the board! Our waiter had zero personality and acted as if he really didn't want to be there, the food was bad, and the cost was far more than the value provided. A rainy Sunday night and not very crowded - maybe 4 - 5 tables, but somehow our food managed to get lost in the kitchen and we waited way too long for food that was (in my case) completely inedible. My wife ordered the fresh catch halibut dinner grilled, and I ordered a blackened grouper sandwich. Both entrees were heavily salted; my wife tried to wipe the seasoning off her filet, which was at least decent sized. My sandwich contained the thinnest, saltiest piece of fish I'd ever been served, and I only managed a couple bites before giving up. My wife's filet wasn't fully cooked, and since we weren't eating sushi-grade fish, my wife was concerned about that. When she told our waiter he barely glanced at her plate and his response was "That's cooked. Some people are just finicky about the texture." "Finicky??" Are you sh**ing me?? How about saying "I'm sorry, would you like me to have it cooked more?" She also pointed at my sandwich and said that it was so salty I couldn't eat it, and all he said was "I'll be back." At least he didn't tell me I was being "finicky". The manager came over shortly after and explained that our server told him we weren't pleased with our meal. My wife explained the issues and his response "Too salty? I know who that is. One of our guys over-salts a lot. I'll talk to him." He then apologized and offered to get us something else, but I declined and said I was done. He vaguely pointed at our food and said he would "discount it". While we waited for the bill my wife took what was left of her fish to the house cat sitting on the patio, and the cat wouldn't even eat it! I'm sorry Mr manager, but if you know that one of your employees has issues with preparing food correctly... either educate them or replace them! Don't apologize and admit you're aware of bad food coming out of your kitchen! And then the topper - our bill came and a whopping $13.50 was discounted from almost $90! He didn't even take off the full cost of my sandwich which was still sitting on my plate! We usually try to give benefit of the doubt to restaurants, but this experience was bad enough that we both agreed we will NOT return. This is a prime example of why zero stars should be allowed!

It smelled very strange like mold. The server went and got one from downstairs and it tasted normal. So the upstairs teapot must not be cleaned.. You can read all of my reviews. I'm very rarely write a negative review. Oil ordered these avocado fries for an appetizer. It's clear they fry them in the same oil as the fish because these avocado fries taste extremely fishy I would not recommend. The Poké bowl is always good as is to tuna tostada. The first order of tacos came out cold. Charity took them back and brought them again the chicken and fish were hot but the beef was ice cold she brought them back the second time the cheese would not even melt on the beef.
