Our other plans were cancelled due to lightening in the area, so we went to a few bars in the area. We ended up at this place, after a quick browse through reviews, and using Google. The initial appearance from the outside, it looked like a good spot, lights, outside seating, and a decent crowd size. We walked in, and was served within a few minutes. The drinks themselves were good, for 2 mixed drinks it was about $14. We decided to sit outside at the patio. There were only a few seats to be found, but it was a nice atmosphere. After finishing our drinks, and talking with a local, the bartender did ask if we wanted another. The service here was fast, decent prices, and friendly. If you're looking for a stop to have a drink, this would definitely be on the list to go to. read more

I've never tried the food here, but the menu looks good. I've always gone during off times, but this place gets packed in the evenings. Live music usually after dark. My favorite bar of all time in downtown st Augustine! I have been coming here since I was 21 and never had a bad time. Love the divey vibe and that it's indoor/outdoor and has a view of the fort. We visited there with friends in June. They completely ripped us off for $60 on a debit transaction. I was stupid enough to not keep the customer copy of the receipt. Mea Culpa. Don't trust this bar. They'll give you a different ticket to sign, then make up whatever amount they want and charge your card for that amount. And to boot, it's a dump with lousy service and terrible drinks. I don't usually do reviews on such short experiences , however, I think it's important to let people know they are not dog friendly. I was out being a tourist in St. Augustine and saw the large patio facing the street and thought it would be a great place to grab a bite . The patio looks like it has good views and there were people outside , but as I came up with my dog, I got a bad vibe and then noticed that there are signs outside that say no dogs are allowed on their patio.. When I began reading the signs and apparently looked annoyed or disappointed , a young lady on the patio called out to me "you're not missing anything, honestly the food sucks." That made me feel a little better but we still had to find another place to go . I am not from around here but I honestly don't understand a patio that doesn't allow dogs. It's their business, so that's up to them, but they are definitely losing business with this policy. read more

Hubby and I were walking around while spending the day together in St. Augustine. We walked by The Bar With No Name and decided to give them a whirl. It was a beautiful day out so he grabbed a high top table outside while I ordered a couple brews from the bar. They had a pretty good selection. I chose the local Jax options from Intuition and Engine 15. Both tried and true. The view of the fort is tough to beat! Located right on Castillo Drive, you can walk over very easily from anywhere in the historic district. There is also a trolley stop a few minutes away. It's a dive bar for sure but one that seems to welcome all kinds. Most definitely worth a visit! read more

On vacation in St. Augustine. Was just at Bar With No Name across from the old fort. Open a tab and purchased food and drinks totally $29.94. Left bar, only to be notified by bank of suspicious activity. 4 charges from No Name Bar of $29.94, $30, $20, and a $10 charge. Returned to bar only to be lied to that every time we ordered another drink the card needed to be charged an authorization. No other bar does that. The origional bill was the $29.94, but after we left bar, we were charged $30 again. Which totally negates his bullshit story. DO NOT GO THERE!!!! Tony and I were walking around the city of St Augustine Florida, checking out the sites and shops. We stumbled across this little pub very close to the harbour and the Fort, with beautiful views that even included the bridge and lighthouse on Charlotte Street. Strange name, No Name Bar! I would have to give it a beautiful name to go with it's beautiful location. I went inside and got Tony a PBR and myself a glass of Ice Water. We sat outside on the lovely deck enjoying the gorgeous view and slight breeze off the water. A perfect day!! After drinking, we continued our stroll of the city. It's basically a dive bar and one that seems to attract a lot of smokers, but as it has a large outside deck area, not much of a problem. Though right on the highway it's located directly across from the fort, so it has a really nice view. this place is decent, but the door guys need to be more educated on service animals. I am a 100% disabled vet, with a federal ID stating my disability as proof (on memorial day i might add, not that the day is meant for me). In any case, I had My Service Animal's national registered ID card with number, my Service Animal doctors letter, all medical records, harnessed, leased, labeled as service animal, etc. My Service Animal is of course, extremely well-behaved. However the door guy decided to make his own judgment and insisted my service animal was an emotional support animal. I don't want to get into the legal aspect of the statement the doorman made about my service animal being an emotional support animal, but I'm sure you get the point. Not legal!! nevertheless, to make a very clear statement , my animal is very much a Service Animal and NOT an emotional support animal. I'm certain he only claimed my service animal was an emotional support animal because they do not allow emotional support animals which is ok to deny entry and he knew he could not deny my Service Animal Entry. I did not make a big issue and decided to just leave. But this is a serious accusation to make about a persons service animal. i was very disappointed. read more

I brought Ernie and Autumn here several times for their burgers. I like the fact that it is outdoors across from the main highway in St. Augustine. You get to hear a small band or a one or two man band perform. The only con is if rains! That would be bad. I would recommend them to any friend or family member. I do have to warn you that this is mostly a young person's place to hang and get crazy. It did not bother me at all. I used to be and I still am crazy at times. I don't go out and drink that much, but I had one of the funnest nights at any bar here last Sunday. The staff is just awesome first of all, including the bartenders and bouncers - especially the bouncer Noah. They had an awesome cover band, with a semi famous drummer apparently (he was really talented). The drinks were strong, and every patron was having such a great time. I got pretty lit, but I handle my alcohol really well, except I get pretty excitable and start dancing and sometimes working out with whatever equipment is handy (in this case the deck railing and table next to it was nicely suited for some triceps dips and straight leg lifts). I was trying to being coy about it and trying to not draw attention, but after I had done two sets, Noah the bouncer came over. I said "you probably want me to stop doing exercises. He said "yeah" in a way that relayed that he understood how much I was enjoying doing it, almost like he felt bad he had to put to a stop to it, because he emphasized with the joy of exercise. What a kind and intelligent way to defuse the antics. Most bouncers take any opportunity to act the tough guy (looking at you bouncer at the wormhole in Savannah) but that just usually leads to a an atmosphere of being unwelcomed. In this scenario, Noah comes up with a smile like he gets it (which he does because we ended up having like a five minute conversation about our mutual love of martial arts and personal training) and nicely request to avoid doing it. Aggression just leads to more aggression, but when someone treats you with respect and kindness, it just makes you want to doubly return it, and also pay it forward. So for the rest of the night I went out of my way to calm down my movements, and be overly chill, because I had so much respect for Noah. Just a super Zen, stand up, genuine dude. I was already in a really good mood, but that really elevated me, and I was extra jovial after that and making friendly conversation with random people, and just humbly walking to a different crowd if I wasn't being received that well (only kind of happened once-I think I overextended my welcome at one table, which is understandable as I was pretty lit). I had so much fun dancing and taking pictures. It was such good energy at the place. Ended up meeting a super nice gal too towards the end too, who invited me and my buddy Radu back to her very close, historic apartment to smoke a doobie. Funny story; she was visiting with her Ma, and she was telling us to be super quiet, and we were, but at one point she woke up and said, "why did you invite two guys back," as she apparently looked out the window into the lit patio. Veronica replied, "oh they're two gay guys, don't worry," and apparently it was very easy to believe after she glanced out onto the porch and saw my (apparently) gay looking straw hat. In fairness to my hat, I was also sitting across from Radu (all European men kind of look gay-not that there's anything wrong with that). Not that anything sexual happened anyway, just a super kind gal. I'm fine being mistaken as non heterosexual..because I love gay men! (They're always the nicest people in my experience, not to put judgment on an entire sexual preference , but I think it's true and I have a lot of experience with them as my Mom is a florist and I've gotten lots of painting work off Craigslist from them).
