Came to the Sandbar with my hubby and old friend we are visiting in St Augustine. I had a good time sitting outside on the porch. The cactus in the front are currently in full bloom, and there are so many aloe plants, and baby palms. It's just pretty to look at, and unexpected on the side of a bar back in my neck of the woods! I only walked inside to use the restroom, once.

Great and fun bar, except they allow smoking inside. Also, they only accept cash in terms of payment.

Not much to add, very period and rustic... A total dive bar populated with a very friendly locals that made you feel right at home.

True, it was nothing fancy and a true dive bar, which is its appeal.

This has officially become our go-to hangout every time we're in town. The live music scene here is unbeatable--whether it's a full band, a solo singer, or anything in between, they are always bringing the energy. It honestly feels like the music hub of Old Town St. Augustine. They keep it simple with beer and wine only, but as a wine girl, I was SO happy to see they serve Decoy Cabernet No cheap, bottom-of-the-barrel wine here--thank you!! The atmosphere is what really makes this place special though. The staff is consistently welcoming, and we absolutely adore the bartender Rose--she's the best and makes every visit feel like you're among friends. And speaking of friends... somehow this last trip we ended up chatting with a total stranger who knew a bunch of our friends back home. Small world moment for sure and just adds to that fun, connected vibe this place has. Great music, great people, great wine--what more could you want? We'll be back every single time!

It was on our walk heading to another bar so we popped in to check it out. You have to go up to the bar setup to order, which is fine, but it can be a bit of a wait depending on the crowd. I had a glass of wine and it was a HUGE pour, which is always appreciated for the price when you're downtown here.

I am not sure what they are doing to this place but it all looks like it's under construction. I nearly tripped and fell on the cords for the lights on the wall.

You are ordering and have no idea the costs. A rum runner in a 16 oz mason jar is $8. We decided to sit in the interior bar due to the outside/porch bar being busy. The bar tender was slow to come over and not warm and friendly. I tried to engage him in ghost talk but said some bar keeps talk and some don't. The upstairs is closed off and due to open on Halloween. The people next to us waited 10 min to be noticed then left due to frustration. I had not been to this bar when it was Scarlett Ohara's so I don't know to compare it but I had driven by many times. Those that are hanging here appear to be locals like myself but if the biker, seen a lot of partying in the 80s type demographic. The decor is really cool but man is it dark inside. Not really my vibe but if it is your vibe.... Like an upscale dive bar vibe this is your spot. Most people were on the porch area like in times past. The only semi local beer is the Jai Alai IPA from Cigar Brewery. Most beers on tap are the usuals.
