This chic establishment was super fun and laid back when we went on Saturday night during our stay in St. Augustine. We had seen the advertisement on TikTok for somewhere that is dog friendly and decided to give it a whirl. We showed up around 6pm and was quickly seated at a table outside. While it was warm, it didn't feel too hot and was manageable. It took a little while for the server to come to our table, but we recognized that she was busy and we were in no rush anyway. When placing a drink order, I decided to order a margarita and my husband ordered their signature coconut margarita. I ordered a coke, too, as I had a taste for one. The only reason I docked stars was because although they were busy, it was almost as if we were forgotten on a few occasions - one being bringing my coke. I had to ask for it a few times unfortunately. We decided to split some food so we could try different things. We ordered the shrimp cocktail, the chargrilled oysters, and split the fish sandwich. The sauce on the fish sandwich was delicious and the fish of the day was some grouper which was fresh and yummy, too! The chargrilled oyster sauce wasn't my favorite flavor. This place is pretty amazing, from the laid back atmosphere to the friendly and welcoming staff this place will not disappoint. We dropped in late afternoon and grabbed a few seats at the indoor bar. The bar staff here works the entire bar I'm sure we were greeted by all of them during our visit and each provided exceptional service. The drinks here are very creative and all come with very generous pours, if you like rum this is a place you'll fall in love with after your first sip - we decided to just go down the drink menu and try as many as we could responsibly and immediately knew this would be a favorite when in the area. I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite drink and it would be just as tough to pick a favorite off their small bite menu. We decided to try a few of the specials, it's a relatively simple menu but everything is filled with flavors that are incredible - the char-grilled oysters are plumb, fresh and unique in every way, the fried black grouper bites were crispy served with a delicious remoulade and a spicy jalapeño chimichurri that will light up your tastebuds, we also tried the jerk chicken thighs skewers and amazing crab empanadas filled with a curry concoction like no others. The portions are large enough to share and really balance out the cocktails, this was a really nice experience and one I plan to repeat in the near future, with all the options in St. Augustine this one is at the very top of the list in my opinion and with parking at a premium in the area they have plenty, definitely worth a try... read more

We visit St. Augustine 1-2 times per year and I have no shame in planning my entire trip around their hours so that I can swing in for that unforgettable espresso martini. The vibe is fun. The beer list is stellar. The food is fantastic. It is a perfect spot for small bites, great conversation and fantastic drinks. Went the day before Night of Lights had officially begun and WOW the holiday decor was floor to ceiling. Loved all the details. My wife and I have been coming to Boat Drinks since they originally opened on St. George St. l've been here no less than 20 times with friends, bachelor parties, and family. This is a bar that serves a limited menu of really good food, and the best oyster selection in St Augustine. The bartenders also serve tables and everyone checks up on you so service is never slow. We have been here both with our dogs and with our baby and there's never been an issue so from reading prior reviews I presume these customers have been PITA's. The cocktails are phenomenal, the Micheladas are the best I've ever had, they have the best rum selection l've ever seen in a bar, and generally they kick @$$. We'll continue to return and I always suggest this place to folks visiting St Augustine. read more

Wow on business owner response and rudeness. 1- I did try the menu drinks- via friends- and as aligned with them, they were sweet. OK, this was an amazing stop. We happen upon this little gem while looking for a place to grab a drink. The weather wasn't great so we were looking for a place with good ambience inside and we found that and so much more. The service was the best I've ever had at a place that primarily does. Our waiter was friendly, helpful, and really went above and beyond to help us find what we were looking for. The way it's decorated is right on point. There were two people in our party and one got the double burger with the black eye peas and the other got the Cobb salad with jerk chicken. The food is really good. Me and my partner stopped in for lunch and we ordered the salad and the burger with cowboy caviar; both were phenomenal just wish the cowboy caviar was warm. (The ranch was my favorite part). As for drinks please uber or walk (we walked) they were poured strong and tasted so good you just gotta get a second one! This works out though because the patio was cozy enough to park it for a bit. Boat Drinks delivered on both of my requirements. I have only had oysters twice in my life and the menu here boasts them charbroiled, which was new to me. They were delivered to me at the bar swimming in a delicious spicy broth reminiscent of a beefy pho and some toasty pita style triangles for dipping. Absolutely stunning dish. Frosty Bevvie was the Miami Vice it was cold it was sweet it wasn't overly strong. Guys behind the bar were cool, I could tell they would engage if you wanted to but not pushy at all. I misjudged this place, thinking it was a restaurant and bar. It's more of a bar with a very few pricy food options; pricy, even for a tourist town. We had a tasty fish sandwich at $25 and the fish bites for $18. I passed on the dozen raw oysters at $36. The happy hour was a different experience for me as the waitress only offered a beer that came with a shot. I wish she had just told me a can of beer is $6 (no draft beer) and the happy hour is a $4 shot. but that wasn't the case. The bartenders at St. Augustine Distillery recommended this hangout on Saint George St., and as locals, they know where to go after work to get strong drinks and fun company. They also recommended we try the Key Lime Pie Daiquiri and after having one, I second their suggestion! The place is not very large itself, but it does have an upstairs, which was hosting a private party when we were there. We sat at the bar and each of the bartenders were friendly, talkative and made exceptional drinks that both tasted great and looked fantastic! The Key Lime Pie Daiquiri was a mixture of white rums, lime, coconut and vanilla spice, with graham cracker dust on top. We also tried the Mojito Bandito (unaged rum, mint, lime, cane sugar, soda and bitters) and the Port Star (Polish vodka, lime, passion fruit, vanilla, white port and bubbles). The drinks were created with great care and were photo perfection. We also decided to try the Charbroiled Oysters and they were better than the ones in New Orleans! It consisted of 1/2 dozen oysters set in garlic butter, with michelada sauce and pecorino cheese, served with pressed Cuban bread. The sauce cleans out your nostrils in a good way without being too overpowering. One of the bartenders even offered us extra Cuban bread to soak up the sauce. The oysters were a tasty delight. Several locals also "bellied up to the bar" throughout the night and had a drink before moving on. It's always great to go where the locals go in a tourist area as the place is most likely NOT a tourist trap. Boat Drinks is highly recommended for a fun night or the start of a fun night! The servers were rude and acted like we were a burden for being there throughout the night and it wasn't even busy. They added 22% gratuity which is fine, but didn't mention it before I paid. Fortunately someone in our group pointed it out to me before I paid the bill, as there was an additional tip request after running my card. Then there was also an additional fee for using a card, which is kinda wild in 2026. I felt like we were a pretty reasonable group and they could have handled it more professionally. If you want to charge an automatic gratuity for large parties, that's fine, but you have to provide good service to justify it. read more

I really hate leaving negative reviews, especially for a local spot I want to see succeed, but I feel management needs to hear this feedback. The renovations are a massive improvement over the previous bar, and the atmosphere is genuinely lovely. The Good: The food is generally solid. The fish dip and salads are nice, and I've had the smash burger a few times--it's amazing. The fish sandwich I ordered was very bad and I couldn't get a member of staff's attention so left it uneaten. The Bad: Unfortunately, my most recent visit was entirely derailed by the service. We sat at the bar and the experience was frustrating. The female bartender (dark hair, glasses) repeatedly interrupted me while I was trying to order, and then got my drink wrong. When I tried to correct it, she literally walked away. My friend tried to order for me, but three bartenders were huddled together chatting and completely ignoring the patrons. We spent a lot that night, and leaving a fish sandwich I didn't enjoy (and couldn't send back due to lack of service) just added to the disappointment. I sincerely hope management addresses the bar staff's lack of attentiveness, because if this continues, this cute place won't last. My favorite bar in STA. The drinks are the best in NE FL. One of my favorite times to go is during the holidays when they have Xmas themed tropical drinks like the Noggystyle. They also have a top shelf rum program. I got to try an oz of the Appleton 2002. OMG! The blackened fish sandwich is excellent. You can also get some oysters. This is a two story bar located right off the main strip of DT historic St. Augustine. Fantastic tropical drink selection and excellent service. Our server was very attentive and never left us with an empty glass. I will say a lot of the drinks were very strong, but overall we enjoyed ourselves. The décor and interior is stellar with a very tasteful nautical theme with a fun and funky color palette. They also had the most beautiful and artsy menu I have ever seen. Automatic 25% Tip? Avoid this place! We came in as a group of six local women to celebrate a birthday and were met with nothing but hostility. Despite being our first visit, the service was incredibly unwelcoming. We were told they wouldn't do separate checks, and when one of us offered to buy her drink at the bar to keep things simple, the waitress (who claimed to also be the bartender) gave us a major attitude. The real shock came with the bill. They added a mandatory 25% gratuity plus a 3% credit card fee. While apparently hidden in the fine print of the menu, it felt like a total ambush. When we politely spoke to the manager, he was aggressive and told us to pay "or else," eventually telling us not to come back. Don't worry--we won't. The drink I got was the key lime pie Daiquiri, which was smaller than other daiquiris ove had and didn't have as much presentation at their other drinks.
