This spot has hands down one of the most beautiful restaurant views. My my boyfriend and I came here for six months and now we're back for our five year anniversary. It is so nostalgic to us and special. When we first got there since they don't take reservations, they said that the wait for outside was about 45 minutes but we could be seated immediately indoors. We were seated inside but after looking at the views, I knew I just wanted to be outside so we actually ended up waiting to sit outside and it was actually fine because you can sit on their beautiful elevated dock overlooking the water and they have a girl there that will take your order for any drinks or appetizers. We ended up ordering the fish dip and I got a Mojito. Both were good, but I do wish that the fish dip had a little bit more fish dip, it seemed kind of like a small amount for the price you pay. After waiting a little bit close to an hour, we were seated right by the water and it was so stunning. Our waiter was Brandon and he was very kind and attentive. We ordered our food and for my entrée I got the herb crusted flounder and that was delicious. It came with asparagus and mashed potatoes. I feel like both the entrées were perfect portions. We also got the pesto ceaser salad, and that was fine - I feel like it could have been more flavorful, but it was still fresh! It's just such a lovely view and you really feel at peace at this spot. I'm so glad we didn't turn around and leave when we saw how busy the parking lot was. The attendant handling the valet had patrons wait in their car in line so the restaurant and bars didn't get overwhelmed/overcrowded. We were told it was a 90 min wait for outside seating or 30 for first available so we opted for first available. We were seated within 15 minutes and were only a few feet from outside, so we had the best of both worlds. Our server was very attentive and had great recommendations as this was our first time dining here. The food was excellent and drinks were very tasty. They were able to maintain a very relaxed atmosphere for how busy it was, and no one appeared to be rushed out once done eating. Would definitely dine here again! read more

This place completely blew us away. The restaurant is stunning and huge, with plenty of different seating areas to enjoy. Even though it was packed and we didn't have reservations, we were seated within 15 minutes. While you wait, you can grab a drink at the bar, take a walk by the beach, or enjoy the sunset from their pier, which alone makes the experience unforgettable. They also offer complimentary valet parking, which was a really nice touch and made the whole experience even more convenient The service was phenomenal from start to finish. Everyone was incredibly kind, from the hostesses to our server, who was attentive and consistently checked on us without being intrusive. Prices are very fair considering the portion sizes, quality of the food, and the unbeatable waterfront location. Nothing felt overpriced For appetizers, we had the tuna tartare and the smoked salmon bruschetta, both were absolutely delicious. I ordered one of the specials: grouper topped with a crab cake and lobster cream sauce, served with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. When I say I devoured my plate faster than I should have, I mean it, it was that good. My fiance ordered the catch preparation (grouper as well), served with rice and curry with plantains. All the seafood tasted incredibly fresh, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right We finished with the key lime pie, which was the perfect ending to an amazing meal. We only had a limited amount of time. We were unable to wait 45 minutes for a table on the water. So we were seated in the garden area. Very zen. Martina was our server and she was amazing. We started with cocktails and all of them were outstanding. The American Dream, The Pain Killer, Last Bovine and the Dirty Datil Martini (very spicy). For dinner we ate relatively light as we had been to Buc-EES at 1:00 in the afternoon and were not very hungry. I and my brother in law had the gumbo which was thick & chock full of seafood. If I must be honest CAPS is my favorite seafood restaurant. I love the vibes and the food. It's on the water it's always a nice view and an amazing breeze. The wait time today was a little longer than normal but it was shift change at 4p. My food was perfect as usual. The only thing that was new for me, I didn't know at 4p during shift change they only serve appetizers and drinks. I don't normally drink with my meals, but she suggested the coconut margarita and it was delicious. For our apps we ordered the Parmesan oysters and the she-crab soup. First and foremost, our waitress Sarah was amazing! A group of 12 of us (coworkers) dined here on a Friday night, and were quickly sat around 6:45pm which was great! Sarah took a photo of us out on the dock which we greatly appreciated! Things were off to a great start, and we ordered drinks and appetizers. Due to my nut allergy, I clearly advised to omit nuts from the cheese plate and Sarah took down to note my allergy. When appetizers were arriving, a young gentleman said the cheese plate with no nuts. The plate was set down and I inquired about the piece on the right side as it appeared to have almonds or some sort of other nut. He said he would ask the kitchen, but believed it didn't as it was noted as no nuts. Sadly, he would never return to advise the verdict from the kitchen, so we had to ask Sarah which caused more waiting with it in front of me. It did in fact contain almonds, so I asked to have to taken and removed from the bill. Rather not eat if not going to have allergies taken seriously. Though, I couldn't really eat with my cocktails it was still a pretty atmosphere being on the water and others enjoyed their food. Some saying the highlight of the work trip to Florida. I'll note that I did safely eat Parmesan truffle fries and crème brûlée, which were great! Hence settling upon 2 stars versus 1 for handling my nut allergy poorly. read more

We came here based upon the recommendation of a friend and the solid reviews. Not disappointed at all! Location is beautiful and we opted for waterfront seating. In hindsight, due to the time of day (sun just lowering to shine under the tree cover but not sunset) and the heat, we might have enjoyed the meal more inside or more under cover. Live and Learn! On the plus, the entire staff was excellent. We utilized the phone ahead waitlist and had a table immediately upon arriving. Our table server was top notch. I went Fried Shrimp and a draft beer. That cold beer was the ticket as I sat in the sun! The shrimp were incredibly good, cooked perfectly, light breading that complimented and didn't overwhelm. A definite winner. MK was our server and she was so respectful and friendly. MK knew the menu and the food she was serving as she helped us choose our amazing food. Even the valet boys were attentive, friendly and so very helpful. This restaurant was the best part of this trip. I want to come back again when I'm healthy and after my ACL surgery. The hostesses announced that we would be seated waterfront, which we thought sounded nice, until we sat there. We visited in early September as the sun was going down and we were sweating buckets. Seems like they could use fans or more shade. Our server advised that a bottle of wine was just $10 more than a half bottle and we could take it home, not a bad deal for wine drinkers. The restaurant has only valet but free or charge. We got there around 2:30 pm and the place was not packed but quite a few people. They have two big bars. What I loved was the view. Right on the water and you see lots of boats and jet skis. The restaurant has shade so not worry about getting sun. The menu has good options. We ordered fish sandwich and tacos. They were very fresh and well seasoned. We also ordered freshly squeeze pineapple juice. We made a stop to have a quick bite and it was worth it. Save your money and your time. The view isn't worth the meal. We had one of the worst seafood experiences we've had in a long time at Cap's on the Water. Our fish and chips came out soggy, wet, and literally swimming in grease. The fried items were cold, the hush puppies were burnt, and the plate looked like it had been sitting for a while before it reached the table. Nothing was seasoned and there wasn't even salt on the table. Salmon was dry. The Gumbo was swimming in a bland tomatoe sauce. Inside the restaurant felt more like a diner than the coastal dining experience we expected. The chairs were uncomfortable and the quality of the food just didn't match the price point at all. There was Heinz ketchup on the table, but after tasting it we all agreed it definitely didn't taste like Heinz. It felt like it had been refilled with something else, which added to the overall impression of cheapness and corner-cutting. To their credit, our waitress handled the situation really well and was kind and responsive when we raised concerns. She was the bright spot of the experience. The view outside is beautiful, but it comes at the cost of food quality. And to top it off, they add an extra 3% credit card processing fee because they're struggling with business challenges. If I could describe Our ideal version of a server- it is her-the timing, spacing of drinks and food was outstanding.
