    lobster roll (not the overstuffed)
    Danielle B.

A really enjoyable spot, especially if you catch it on a good day. We visited on a Sunday and were treated to live music on a shaded patio, which was a perfect escape on a hot afternoon. The atmosphere alone is worth the trip. The food delivered too. The lobster roll at $28 gives you pause, but it earns its price tag and is genuinely worth it. The fried shrimp basket was also a winner, with delicious shrimp as the highlight. Skip the fries and go for the onion rings instead. Not a destination we'd drive across town for, but absolutely one we'd return to if we were in the area. A great option when the weather and the music align.

This was a great find, nothing fancy. Walk inside order from the menu on the wall and find a seat in the courtyard or upstairs. They give you a buzzer and you pick up your order and return to your seat and begin the most enjoyable/favorable/ rich clam chowder and the most juicy and flavorful full belly clams, spit of Cape Cod. Very good and worth the market price. On a personal preference point, not a fans of the french fries with that seasoning coating. Otherwise great New England treat. Lobster rolls that others had were raved about. Definitely worth a stop in St Augustine

Overall we liked DJ's. The food was good but typical for a seafood shack. It definitely has a feel of a beachside hangout. Next time I'd skip the conch fritters (mediocre) and opt for the lobster roll which looked amazing. We'll definitely try it again on our next St Augustine visit.

Delicious and packed lobster rolls. Definitely a casual spot but plenty of seating both outside and upstairs. Order at a window and then pick up the food when it's ready. Quick and kind service but by no means fancy. Came here for a good and filling lobster roll and that's exactly what I got!

Great seafood spot right in St. Augustine. Quick service counter, so no worries about a wait staff. They had a nice outdoor patio with live music for lunch. Or you can dine up on the second floor, limited seating up there. The shrimp and fish baskets were very good, great tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. The garlic shrimp roll was delicious, and my wife loved her fish tacos! I would definitely recommend this seafood shop!

A generous amount of lobster ($46) however it was almost tasteless. You can definitely tell it was frozen. Kind of disappointing. The fried clams were great ($18). They have a really nice shady outdoor area to enjoy your food.

Me and my family spent the day in St Augustine, visiting Fort Mose to close out Black History Month(excellent history of enslaved people in that area). We had already planned to eat at DJ's Clam Shack, a favorite since visiting Key West and promoted by Guy Fieri, Food Network. The lobster rolls are the best, you must get it hot, the bread, fresh lobster meat with butter will melt in your mouth and the coleslaw is very fresh. The conch fritters, fries and clams were all tasty and very delicious. The staff are very friendly and patient. There is inside and outside seating, we decided to eat outside, 75 degrees and a light breeze so remember DJ's Clam Shack on Hypolita the next time you visit St Augustine.

This little restaurant was not at all what we expected. We were greeted warmly and instructed to order at the counter, which makes everything quick and easy if you're also in a hurry. It had a coastal rock vibe, they played a lot of Aerosmith which was super fun. They also had adorable merchandise and free refills. It's a seat yourself with adorable little bar tops and stools and a coupe booths, it was coastal scenic and had some really neat decorations, not to mention Guy Fieri approved, with his signature and all! There was a small selection of beer but we opted out this time. We ordered the coconut shrimp and clam strips, which also came with fries! The clam strips were juicy and crispy, which I was hesitant to try because I'm picky about seafood, the texture was perfection! We ordered ranch on the side for a safe bet but their ranch is honestly out of this world, it was thick with a phenomenal dill flavor and still had the buttermilk bite. The coconut shrimp ended up being very large pieces of shrimp and butterflied. It was also crisp to perfection but still juicy, it came with a Thai chili sauce that I wanted to dip everything in. Lastly, this may be less important but they offered malt vinegar which is not common where I'm from but I was thrilled they had it. I was blown away by this place and we will definitely be back with friends!

First timers here We had the famous lobster rolls $20 each served hot on like a Texas toast bun The rolls were excellent but not very filling at all even for a woman as I had to order additional rolls for her. The coleslaw was very tasty as well and it's cheaper to park in the lot of the fort at $10 max than $15 for a private lot that's basically the same distance. So three rolls, and one little bottle of Chardonnay and one little bottle of Prosecco plus $10 to park , state tax and local tax plus tip equals $120.63

SO and I stopped here for a quick bite. It's a great place to satisfy your Maine and Connecticut lobster roll jones. They also make a pretty good New England clam chowder. Place your order inside and they give you a buzzer to let you know when it's done. The live music is pretty good, too!

This was the least busy place in st. Augustine after new years. Nice little patio and upstairs space. Even though st. Augustine was crowded , this place was almost empty. Easy ordering and not a huge menu. Got the regular lobster roll for $28. They also had the overstuffed lobster roll for $46. The bread was nice buttery and toasty but the lobster filling was a bit on the bland side and very little. I was expecting more taste and a bigger amount of lobster for the price. Also got the clam chowder loaded Fries. Didn't like it at all, the clam chowder tasted really bad. This place was once and done. At least for me.

If you're in downtown St. Augustine, DJ's Clam Shack is the place to be! They serve up incredible lobster rolls and tacos, and the live music creates a fantastic atmosphere. There's plenty of seating options--whether you want to sit indoors, enjoy the breeze outside, or head upstairs. The food is great and the service is impressively quick!

While researching must eats in St. Augustine I stumbled upon this lead back restaurant that was also featured on DDD. Casual dining, order inside, wait outside at table until buzzer calls you which was only about 10 minutes. I didn't even let my husband order as there were two items I had to have: conch fritters and the lobster roll warm with butter and a cold beer. Conch was creamy with nice chunks of fish and had a side of fries & cole slaw and lobster so sweet, & chunky and had cole slaw. It was a perfectly delicious lunch we shared in a cool outside terrace. So glad we went!

Catch 27 - St. Augustine, FL…read more Came to St. Augustine with a group and Catch 27 was suggested for dinner. Great choice. I checked the Yelp reviews ahead of time and it definitely lived up to them. People in our group started with drinks and everyone at the table seemed happy with what they ordered. I had the red wine braised beef brisket for my main and it was excellent, very tender and full of flavor. My friend Damon next to me had the red snapper and I tried some of that too. Also very good. Someone else at the table had the Rockefeller crusted snapper and that looked and tasted great as well. For appetizers, I had the shaved pear and blue cheese salad. It was really good and honestly enough for two people to share as an appetizer. People at the table also ordered the Devils on Horseback and liked them. I do not eat bacon, but they were happy with that dish. The deviled eggs with southern fried oysters looked really good, and I had the smoked salmon spread, which was very good too. I also saw the shrimp and grits come out for someone else and that dish looked excellent. For dessert, I had the sticky toffee pudding and it was a strong finish to the meal. Others at the table ordered the seasonal crème brûlée, which was chocolate that night. It looked great and everyone who had it said it was very good. Sunny was our waitress and she did an exceptional job. Attentive, kind, and on top of everything the whole night. In my mind this is about a 4.7 star experience, and I am rounding it up to a full 5 stars. Catch 27 is a great choice in St. Augustine.

I ordered a sangria but our drinks took a very long time to come out, after our appetizer (crab, an heirloom tomato bruschetta which was yummy and more filling than regular bruschetta!) Overall, the food was really good and waitress was nice, but water was never refilled and everything took a really long time to come out. Our entrees were the beet salad and tuna poke bowl, which were both pretty good, but my wife complained about the abundance of candied nuts in the beet salad. The entertainment was meh. The manager was constantly petting the house kitty cat and then handling food, drinks and shaking customer hands. Seemed odd. Their sushi chef recently passed away so nothing related to sushi on the menu was available made to order. The place just needs proper leadership and could be a much more enjoyable experience in a town with few options on the water.

The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. It was a pretty cold and uncomfortable welcome. That said, the restaurant is absolutely charming. I really loved the interior ambiance--it's cozy, well-decorated, and has a very pleasant vibe. The food was extremely delicious. We ordered the Half Pound Ice Plant Burger and it was juicy, fresh, and packed with flavor. You could taste the quality in every single bite--the meat was perfect, the ingredients fresh, and everything very well balanced. Definitely one of the best burgers I've had recently. Arrival: There are parking lots nearby--expect to pay around $15-25. As we walked up, there was live jazz music playing in the courtyard, which set a really great vibe right away. Service: Our waiter was attentive and timely without being overbearing. Food: Everything was amazing. We started with the bread service--the truffle butter was definitely the highlight (we didn't care too much for the ricotta spread). FYI: the little cubes that look like white cheddar are *not* cheese...I learned that the hard way by biting into a square of butter. For dinner, I had the cacio e pepe and he ordered the 100 lasagna. Portions were a bit smaller than expected, but honestly fine after filling up on bread. For dessert, we shared an affogato--the espresso wasn't burnt (which is surprisingly rare), so that was a big win. Overall: After the Resy credit, parking ended up costing more than the meal, which is kind of wild. Only downside was that there are just two restrooms, and there was a line when we went. We started with the bread appetizer, which came with several types of fresh bread and an incredible lineup of spreads like whipped ricotta, truffle butter, regular butter, and honey. Every bread had its own distinct flavor and texture. Next up was the sausage appetizer featuring both a sweet sausage and a spicy sausage, all made in house. They were cooked perfectly and served in a flavorful sauce with peppers that tied everything together. The balance between the sweet and spicy was so good. For my entree, I ordered the lasagna, and it was pure comfort. It reminded me so much of the classic lasagna I grew up eating, layered with rich Bolognese and a creamy bechamel sauce that made it feel both nostalgic and elevated. My boyfriend went with the steak (I believe it's a New York strip) and swapped a few of the sides to his liking. The steak was absolutely cooked to perfection, a beautiful medium rare. I may or may not have stolen about four bites... and yes, it was worth it..... We were way too full for dessert, but we did enjoy a bottle of wine with dinner which made the whole experience feel like the perfect date night. The service was fantastic, the food was memorable, and it's definitely a place we'll be coming back to for many more dates!
