Fun casual place for a great meal. Not a ton of selection but enough for most to find something Low Country Boil - shrimp were done perfectly; very tasty sausage and corn & potatoes were done well Shrimp & Deviled Crab - again everything was done well Great friendly service

All blue crab tray- 4/5 kinda small but meat was firm and sweet.

Visiting the area for the week and this was a place I wanted to try with family and friends. A very sketchy area like others mentioned...take out only as well. Everything is precooked and boxed mostly then plopped in the MICROWAVE...yes REHEATED!!!after they seasoned and dolloped the butter...that there threw me off...as I'm standing there watching all that I was kinda hesitant about this and you could imagine the thought process...like how do I know if these are like 2-3days old and such. Cause thats definitely a first for me witnessing first hand something like this. But let me tell you....it was great...my brain is confused but my taste buds were ecstatic...shrimp was plump and delicious. Crabs were moist and firm. Only thing was corn was a bit undercooked...so yeah...just be prepared to see how it goes down inside.

Fresh blue crab and shrimp. The shrimp was good with warm butter and lemon salt. The blue crab was lightly seasoned and lots of work to get very small amounts of meat. The owner is friendly and forewarned us of the work it took to get to the meat. He also made recommendations as first time guests. Sometimes the hole in the wall joints are the best, and this place definitely fit the bill. We recommend getting the combo which includes some sides...I believe the owner hooked it up with corn on the cob, sliced sausage, a half potato wedge and a boiled egg, all of the sides tasted were excellent.

Wow!! I was craving crab and came across this restaurant. It was so delicious I'm contemplating getting it again tonight. The flavors were great and the portion was huge! The price is what made me decide to get it! Don't hesitate! Get it now!

Catch 27 - St. Augustine, FL…read more Came to St. Augustine with a group and Catch 27 was suggested for dinner. Great choice. I checked the Yelp reviews ahead of time and it definitely lived up to them. People in our group started with drinks and everyone at the table seemed happy with what they ordered. I had the red wine braised beef brisket for my main and it was excellent, very tender and full of flavor. My friend Damon next to me had the red snapper and I tried some of that too. Also very good. Someone else at the table had the Rockefeller crusted snapper and that looked and tasted great as well. For appetizers, I had the shaved pear and blue cheese salad. It was really good and honestly enough for two people to share as an appetizer. People at the table also ordered the Devils on Horseback and liked them. I do not eat bacon, but they were happy with that dish. The deviled eggs with southern fried oysters looked really good, and I had the smoked salmon spread, which was very good too. I also saw the shrimp and grits come out for someone else and that dish looked excellent. For dessert, I had the sticky toffee pudding and it was a strong finish to the meal. Others at the table ordered the seasonal crème brûlée, which was chocolate that night. It looked great and everyone who had it said it was very good. Sunny was our waitress and she did an exceptional job. Attentive, kind, and on top of everything the whole night. In my mind this is about a 4.7 star experience, and I am rounding it up to a full 5 stars. Catch 27 is a great choice in St. Augustine.

There was no one at hostess stand because system was down and they were having troubles which I felt bad for the hostess who seemed stressed on obviously a busy night. They were out of both of the entrees we wanted, which was unfortunate but I ended up getting the catch beurre blanc and it was delicious. I ordered a sangria but our drinks took a very long time to come out, after our appetizer (crab, an heirloom tomato bruschetta which was yummy and more filling than regular bruschetta!) Overall, the food was really good and waitress was nice, but water was never refilled and everything took a really long time to come out. Would love to try it again on a regular night and hopefully they have the entrees we wanted to try:)

She was very kind and accommodating as we were looking for a specific table location on the patio. I would also like to shout out our server, Tom, who was also friendly. Unfortunately, service is only half of the experience. We started with a dozen raw oysters that were just not fresh. They were stuck to the shell and tasted very old. Our entrees were the beet salad and tuna poke bowl, which were both pretty good, but my wife complained about the abundance of candied nuts in the beet salad. The entertainment was meh. The manager was constantly petting the house kitty cat and then handling food, drinks and shaking customer hands. Seemed odd. Their sushi chef recently passed away so nothing related to sushi on the menu was available made to order. The place just needs proper leadership and could be a much more enjoyable experience in a town with few options on the water.

The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

When I arrived with my pregnant wife and my service dog, he asked somewhat curtly if it was a service dog. After I confirmed and thanked him, he rudely placed the menu on the table, turned around without saying another word or showing any basic courtesy, and just walked away with his back to us. It was a pretty cold and uncomfortable welcome. That said, the restaurant is absolutely charming. I really loved the interior ambiance--it's cozy, well-decorated, and has a very pleasant vibe. The food was extremely delicious. We ordered the Half Pound Ice Plant Burger and it was juicy, fresh, and packed with flavor. You could taste the quality in every single bite--the meat was perfect, the ingredients fresh, and everything very well balanced. Definitely one of the best burgers I've had recently. Despite the initial host experience, I would return without hesitation for the food and the atmosphere. Highly recommended, but they could improve the initial greeting.
