If you enjoy Asian food and haven't tried Corner Sushi you are missing a very good Japanese eatery. A friend introduced us to this place a couple of months ago. We went for sushi. The sushi was fresh, tasty and nicely presented. It also came with a small salad (the ginger dressing is awesome) and your choice of miso or clear soup. But sushi is all they have. Yesterday we went back for their entrees. They offer both hibachi and teriyaki dinners with a variety of seafood, chicken & meet dinners. This is not a Japanese restaurant where they put on a show while cooking your dinner. It is just good food, well prepared and at a reasonable price. The service is great and the dining area is clean and nicely decorated. So if you haven't tried this place I strongly suggest you go. It won't disappoint you. read more

This was our first time at Corner Sushi and we will definitely be back. The place is clean with a simple but nice ambiance. The service was friendly and efficient though they did forget our soup and salad. I didn't take off any points for that because everything else was so good and when I told the waiter that we hadn't received out soup and salad he was very apologetic and brought them out immediately. The sushi was fresh and very good and the prices are very reasonable. Can't wait to go back and try some of the other items on the menu. We were looking for a good Japanese food in Saint Augustine and corner sushi came up definitely would recommend great food great service. They gave us a free appetizer and free dessert which is rare to find these days. I had the steak and chicken hibachi and it was 10 out of 10 and my wife had the chicken udon and we also had crab raccoon which was 11 out of 10. We heard amazing things about @Corner Sushi--great food at reasonable prices--so we decided to give it a try. Spoiler alert: It did not disappoint! The atmosphere was delightful, with high-end furnishings, soft trendy music, and no harsh lighting. Walking in, the first thing you see is the sushi bar, where skilled sushi chefs craft their masterpieces. The space, which seems small from the outside, is surprisingly spacious and comfortable inside. Our server was attentive and friendly, setting the tone for a fantastic meal. I started with the Salmon Katsu Roll and the Crazy Girl Roll--the latter being our server's favorite. The Crazy Girl Roll features shrimp tempura and cream cheese wrapped in rice, topped with avocado and a jalapeño slice. It was a show-stopper--visually stunning and absolutely delicious! The Salmon Katsu Roll was also great, but the Crazy Girl Roll takes the prize. My husband opted for the Chicken Udon Noodles, which he said were fresh and packed with flavor. The meal began with clear soup and a ginger salad, and to our surprise, we were treated to an "on the house" Yoyo Roll--krab stick and cream cheese, deep-fried and topped with green onions. It was so good we ordered another (this time on us). As if the meal couldn't get better, we ended with a delightful New Year's surprise: a slice of strawberry cream cake, light as a feather and a perfect sweet note to end the meal. Super happy! I placed a small order right before closing só i wasn't expecting much as far as service but from the phone to pickup, they were super nice. !!!5 star experience in a strip mall! There's something special about this restaurant and I'm gonna talk about the warmth and love the employees have here. This is what sets them apart from the rest. From the minute you walk in the door, a free sushi app arrives at your table. Its called the Yo-Yo. You can feel the welcoming atmosphere immediately. Everything came out promptly! We were presented with a nice complimentary app as we waited for our appetizers of Yellowtail Jalapeño and Rainbow Naruro, which were all fresh and addictively delicious. Naruro is a bit large and it took two bites for me, but delicious all the same. Our mains were all rolls: Salmon Skin, Double Salmon, Oshinko, and Vegetable. WHAT A GEM! My boyfriend and I took a trip to st augustine for our anniversary. We are sushi fanatics, and this place did NOT disappoint! We got the love boat for 2 (it was only like $50) and the fish was SO FRESH! There was a complimentary appetizer (a yo-yo roll) and a little complimentary chocolate mousse cake dessert. We also ordered a chef specialty roll (totally forgot the name of it. I think it may have been the Barron roll?), and they really loaded it up with deliciousness. Located in an out-of-the-way strip mall on the south side of St. Augustine sits Corner Sushi, on the corner of the building. If you didn't know it was there, you're not alone. Where is this you may be wondering? Behind McDonald's! Yes, there are businesses in that strip mall! Honestly, I had a little difficulty maneuvering the menu. Ingredients are not listed, what it comes with isn't noted, etc. A friend of mine who frequents this place helped me out, but I still had questions, so it was a tad frustrating. After all, if there is something we are allergic to or don't like, we want to be afforded the opportunity to omit "it". I guess I'm not the only one...whew! Good thing I had my friend with me who knows this place, not everyone has that. So, if you don't "know", just ask. I thought they were a tad pricey at first, but didn't realize the extras that come along with each meal...like soup and salad. The food is good, but nothing grabbed me, nor stood out. Perhaps I ordered wrong. The service is quick and friendly...which is nice. We ordered a large to-go order that was done much quicker than expected. Plus, to our surprise, they included some extra goodies...that was nice. There is indoor seating and a place to sit to wait on your to-go order and/or wait for a table. After a long drive from Tampa to St. Augustine we were craving some lunch and sushi came to mind. Thanks to Yelp we discovered Corner Sushi and headed over as soon as we arrived in town. This spot is located in a less touristy area so I'm not sure we would have found it otherwise, but I'm sure glad we did. We started with a hamachi appetizer, featuring thin slices of hamashi sashimi topped with spicy little rounds of jalapeno and bathed in a yuzu sauce. Absolutely phenomenal - I could have eaten plates of this. Next we opted for a variety of nigiri and a couple of rolls to share. The Lady Gaga Roll was deep fried and featured spicy tuna and other delights, and the lobster roll was stuffed full of deep friend lobster. The nigiri was good, too - not a bad item in the bunch. It was all fresh and expertly prepared. A special bonus was the complimentary tasty krab-with-a-k deep fried appie they brought to us when we arrived, and the equally delish mini tiramisu desserts (also complimentary) when we were done. Not only was the service excellent, it was extremely clean, and they had the hard-core sushi that I love, Uni, Toro, and ikura with quail eggs.
