    Royal Soft Shell Crab
    JiMmy P.

My wife and I kicked off our day with a satisfying lunch. We started off with Thai wings which were sweet and came with a little kick. I selected the royal soft shell crab for my Main with flavorful crab and curry sauce. It came with a side of rice. My wife chose the house special noodle soup loaded with chicken, shrimp, pork, and wonton. We enjoyed our substantial lunch and appreciated the great service. We're already planning our return. All Alcoholic beverages are 50% off on Wednesdays. Great deal!

I come back every year. Things have changed, but it's still good. This time I tried their curry, and I LOVE how even though it was so flavorful, it wasn't overpowering. Color me impressed. I also ordered their special combination soup. They really knock it out of the part with the wonton dumpling noodles. Their soup is on point as usual. WOW I wish this place could be here forever, if I can get one closer to Jax, I would be so happy. They did cross out a lot of their sushi offerings, I'm not sure why, but this place shines in their Thai and southeast Asian dishes. The staff is always attentive. I came here at noon on a Saturday, and there went too many people. I wish they could get more press because they definitely deserve it. it's a mom and pop shop and I always get the same lady serving me, and she's wonderful as usual. What a sweet lady. Ambience here has changed. I think they're trying to hear their restaurant more towards a dinner place than lunch. The fresh flowers are beautiful, but they deliberately dim the lighting to made it cozy. Instead of kpop playing in the back on the screen they have small cooking shows moved forward and the decorate the side with different alcoholic beverage bottles. Overall, this place has never disappointed me. I love it and people truly should check this place out. please support this mom and pop shop!

Took my kids here to eat for lunch. They have a good selection for their lunch menu for Thai entrees, I recommend the PANANG ! I ordered the pad prik chicken and rice. Their pho is okay, the broth is amazing but there wasn't much options for the toppings ! They are currently out of sushi right now as they don't have a sushi chief, I hope that returns soon!! The service is quick and there is usually no wait and a lot of space to eat and bring family.

*vegan review* My in-laws, husband, and I stopped here for lunch on a day trip to St. Augustine and really enjoyed our food! Hubby and I split two orders of pad see ew (easily modified to be vegan) and an order of the pad kra-pow basil. In-laws got the shrimp red curry and basil fried rice with chicken and they really enjoyed their food. Would recommend this place if you're in the area!

Absolutely amazing Thai, Sushi and Pho! We had the Sushi rolls with no rice! Absolutely terrific! They are so much better without rice! The flavors really punch through! We got the Thai soups-Tom Kha with Shrimp! So packed with Thai Spices. The Pad Thai w/ Shrimp is the best Ive had. Beautiful presentation! Amazing Pho-House with Tofu instead of noodles was perfect! The meats were plentiful! Service is always amazing!

Was in the mood for Thai food. Walked into restaurant and 2 men in front said sit anywhere. My wife wanted a booth but it wasn't clean. We sat at a table. Waited about 10 minutes as employees of the restaurant walked by with no acknowledgment. That's okay wasn't in a hurry. Finally ordered water and beer. 3/4 of the beers they were out of. Again no drinks for another 10 minutes until my wife said something to one of the men. They brought one right away. Asked for hot sauce and waitress forgot. Got the food and hot sauce. I asked for another beer. No beer had to take off bill. Food was okay nothing special. Had a few Shrimp with tails on them. I'm disappointed I wish the experience was better.

    Chicken Pad Thai Noodles

Crab Rangoon appetizer very good. Chicken Pad Thai main entree, medium spice was just right. Very good flavor. I appreciated the chili sauce variety. Thai ice tea for beverage spot on.

The Pho tonight was really tasty. Our only criticism is that the portion of meat was small. Next time we will pay for extra meat.

It's one of the best restaurants I have been to in my life. Probably the best Thai restaurant in St. Augustine. Not only was the food delicious -- seriously, everything we ordered was amazing -- the service was extraordinary. Jak, the owner, went above and beyond to ensure that we and our dogs were as comfortable as possible while eating outside in the Florida heat. He opened the big umbrella to provide us with shade, brought a bowl of water for our dogs as well as some treats, and even went as far as bringing out a fan to provide us with some breeze. My husband and I were blown away by this service; we've never been to a restaurant were the owner cares so much about the customers. As aforementioned, the food was also incredible. We started off with some curry fish cakes and curry puffs; both were very tasty and came with a sweet peanut sauce with vegetables. For our main dishes, we had the red curry chicken -- very flavorful and deliciously spicy, but not too spicy -- and the drunken duck noodles -- also very flavorful. To finish off our meal, we had the sticky rice mango, which was very yummy. Additionally, we had the mango boba and peach passion fruit boba teas, which were very refreshing in this summer weather. We'll definitely be back whenever we come back to St. Augustine and will recommend it to our friends and family when they visit.

If you're into Thai food, this place is worth finding. The atmosphere was chill and comfortable, nothing over the top but it felt welcoming the moment you walked in. Our waiter was genuinely helpful -- not in a rehearsed way, just actually attentive and knew the menu well. That alone goes a long way. We ordered the thai fried rice and pad see ew, both were really good. The flavors were on point and the portions were solid for the price. Nothing on the menu felt overpriced, which is refreshing. We also grabbed a few appetizers and they held their own, but the rock shrimp absolutely stole the show. That was probably the highlight of the whole meal -- really well done. I can honestly say with all the times I have been there and it's more than I can count, never have. I had a bad meal! The food is always the freshest and it's always served piping hot. Their vegetables are just crunchy enough to know they're fresh but still have their flavor. Their portions are ginormous. You definitely get your moneys worth with the highest quality dinner or lunch you could ever ask. The service beyond stellar! Because I go there so much and they know me so well I don't even have to tell them what I want to drink they bring it automatically. They truly treat their customers like family and that's a rarity these days! They truly care about their customers and they remember who they are. I listened to them with other tables and they take just as an active interest in them as they do Me. That's the sign of quality. I love the ambience because they always have fresh flowers and they're always dust free. So many times you'll go into places in the plants have dust on them not here. Someone truly takes care of the greenery and it is green! It's also very interesting to watch the TV screens as they do demonstrations of various Thai food preparation. I've been to numerous Thai places in Jacksonville. None can hold a candle to this one. We've been dining here for more than two years, and every visit reminds us why it has earned a permanent place on our list of Favorite Tables Around Town. The atmosphere strikes a wonderful balance between upscale and comfortable. Whether you're planning a romantic date night, celebrating a special occasion, or simply craving exceptional sushi, Green Papaya delivers an experience that feels polished without ever feeling pretentious. We especially enjoy the side dining room, where the softer lighting creates an intimate setting that's perfect for lingering over dinner. We started this visit with the sampler appetizer, and it's one of the best ways to experience several favorites from the kitchen. The spring rolls were light and crispy, the coconut shrimp had just the right touch of sweetness, the chicken skewers were tender and flavorful, and the crab rangoon was rich, creamy, and perfectly fried. Susan couldn't pass up her favorite Tom Kha soup. If you enjoy bold flavors with a little heat, this soup is outstanding. The creamy coconut broth, fresh herbs, and spice create one of the most flavorful versions we've had anywhere. If you're sensitive to spice, just keep that in mind when ordering. Now let's talk about the sushi. As sushi lovers, we've worked our way through nearly every specialty roll on the menu over the years, and Green Papaya has never disappointed us. On this visit, the Tiger Roll earned one of our highest honors: our Best of the Best award. We don't hand that recognition out often. The Tiger Roll was beautifully presented and perfectly balanced. Every bite combined fresh fish, great texture, and layers of flavor that complemented each other instead of competing. It's the kind of roll you remember long after dinner is over and the one we'll recommend to anyone visiting for the first time. We also ordered the Tropical Roll with spicy scallops, mango, and white tuna. The sweetness of the mango softened the heat from the scallops beautifully, creating a combination that was refreshing, unique, and absolutely delicious. Service has always been friendly and attentive. One thing that makes Green Papaya a little different is the robot that helps deliver food throughout the restaurant. Our grandchildren absolutely love it, and it's always fun watching kids light up when it rolls by. For adults trying to enjoy a quiet conversation, it can occasionally be a little distracting, but it's certainly memorable and has become part of the restaurant's personality. Green Papaya isn't inexpensive, but quality sushi rarely is. The ingredients are fresh, the presentation is excellent, and the consistency keeps us coming back year after year. We'd much rather pay a little more for outstanding sushi than settle for something average. If you're looking for one of the best sushi restaurants in St. Johns, whether it's for date night, a celebration, or simply because you're craving outstanding sushi, Green Papaya deserves a visit. And when you go... Order the Tiger Roll. There's a reason it earned our Best of the Best award. You can also check out our photos to see why this has become one of our Favorite Tables Around Town.
