This place was popping. It is definitely a place for the locals. The interior is small, but it appeared as everyone was taking their orders Togo besides us. The Hot and sour Soup was pretty good minus the chicken chunks. I added soy and hot sauce for more of a flavorful experience. The shrimp rice was great, especially the fact that they do not skimp on the shrimp. The shrimp egg roll was huge and delicious. I mean, LITERALLY everything was delicious at this establishment. I ordered the Bourbon chicken combo platter. The rice, egg roll and the 3 pieces of broccoli were OK. The chicken was hard and dry. It didn't resemble chicken because of this. It had an off taste. I have been eating at Lucky Garden for 14-15 years + and never had a bad experience. Can honestly say I have probably tried 25% of menu, with nary a bad choice. Personally I prefer the spring rolls to egg rolls. The service is always pleasant and kind. Is the place a 5 star sit down restaurant, no way, but for a fast food take away it is 5 stars. Keep your expectations appropriate and in context and you will be pleased. For the poor reviews I see, I can only say if you are too lazy to go pick up your food, you are probably an entitled Karen that nothing will please. The only thing I can say good is the food was hot. My son ordered orange beef and I ordered Dragon Phoenix. Both dishes were fried and all you could taste was soggy batter with very tiny piece of meat. It was supposed to be spicy however lacked flavor. White rice was more like sticky rice. Overall all the dishes order were lacking on spices. The coconut chicken was overly sweet and very bland otherwise. The garlic shrimp stated hot and spicy on the menu, unfortunately it was not spicy at all. The Mongolian beef tasted ok but was 90% onion and very little beef. The chow mein had no noodles. This location is in a shopping center, and when we arrived an older lady came out telling us she LOVES their egg rolls. I'm not big on egg rolls (I'm a pretty picky person when it comes to egg rolls, anyway, I digress.) My husband LOVES crab puffs and guys...THESE ARE SO DAMN GOOD!!! Do yourself a favor and order them!! I got an order of General Tso's Chicken to share with my husband and it came with a side of broccoli. It was tasty, the meat wasn't too dry, and it had that spice you can only find with General Tso's! I was pleasantly surprised. My only problem would be with the aesthetic of the restaurant. The tables were a little sticky, and so was my chair. You can see back in their kitchen and it just looked unappealing to the eyes. Absolutely great Chinese food with very generous portions for a reasonable price. We can feed the two of us for two nights with two large orders, costing $20.
