We visited this location after the excursion of the crocodiles and we found this location close by and we were starving. Upon our arrival, we noticed the outside of the premises did not look very nice and we still decided to go inside and check them out. As soon as we answered, we got seated. The waiter could have done a better job on serving us and changing her attitude. We got up and checked the food and it was 50/50 no wow factors. Ichiban Buffet is a simple buffet offering many of the usual dishes you would expect. One nice feature is the hibachi station where you can pick your ingredients and have a chef cook them fresh in front of you. I'm giving it 3 stars because of a concern I experienced at the hibachi station. The chef was using the same utensils to cook multiple orders, and when I mentioned that I'm allergic to shrimp and noticed shrimp being cooked right next to my food with the same utensils, he simply clapped the utensils together and continued cooking without cleaning them. Thankfully my allergy isn't extremely severe and I didn't consume any shrimp, but it was still concerning to see no effort made to prevent cross-contamination. Overall, it's a decent and straightforward buffet, but if you have food allergies, it may be something to be mindful of when ordering at the hibachi station. This place has so many options to choose from seafood, variety of meats and a separate sushi /hibachi bar! my favorite is the coconut shrimp, sweet-and-sour chicken and one of the steaks I can't remember, but it's very delicious. Ichiban has it all for a good price. I was disappointed about the oysters advertised but were not appealing. The hibachi is part of the buffet. As you can see my hibachi looked burnt and taste charcoal. We were seated quickly but I had to the hunt the waitress down to get my drink. Ichiban is very spacious and all the food looks appetizing. My rice was cold but the General tso chicken was spicy and hot. The drive from my house to the buffet is roughly 30 minutes. It has been a minute since we did buffet. We have driven past the Ichiban Buffet restaurant many times over the years. Located on US 1 in what I call St. Augustine's shopping district, this restaurant is easy to find, has plenty of parking and there was no wait when we arrived at 12:15 p.m. on a Saturday in March. What impressed me was the variety and quantity of sushi available for lunch. In other cities, we have enjoyed Asian buffet restaurants and there isn't the quantity or variety of sushi available until the dinner seating. For $13.00, lunch is quite the good deal, especially if you are hungry or like sushi! They also have a cooked-fresh hibachi grill area with plenty to make you a fresh lunch/dinner of whatever you are fancying that day. One buffet station had American food, including chicken, ribs, crawfish, clams, bacon wrapped shrimp and I think two varieties of cooked fish. Another station had cooked Asian dishes including chicken with broccoli, Szechuan pork, honey chicken, fried rice, and lo mein. Another station had chicken on a stick, sautéed green beans, egg rolls, spring rolls, french fries, wontons, steamed dumplings. Another station had various canned and fresh fruits. Another station had the fixings for building your own salad, with several dressings to choose from. There was a dessert station, as well as a scoop your own ice cream area. One thing I notices was the constant turnover of food. The staff were continuously filling the steam tables with fresh food so there was nothing sitting there for very long. Empty and finished dinner plates were cleared from our table, as well as nearby tables. Service staff are timely with their delivery! If you're looking for a place where you don't have to wait for a table and don't have to wait for food to be cooked, this could be the place for you. We will return. To begin, the food, service, and staff is great! The place is very cleanly, looks great, and is very well maintained. The only thing that I did have a problem with was that they did not have any signs regarding the most common allergy, peanuts. My sister ended up having an allergic reaction and we had to leave. Some signs or even just a photo of a peanut above every food that includes peanuts would be helpful to know which ones have it. This could also help to prevent others from having an allergic reaction too. I would like to see some signs added to this place soon. Besides this one problem, I would say that this is an amazing place, great job guys! read more

This location keeps the food areas clean and well stocked with freshly prepared dishes. Good selection of cold salad, Chinese, seafood, sushi and hibachi grill items. Take advantage of the hibachi grill where you get to hand select your components and watch while it is prepared in front of you. Servers are great and do a great job of picking up plates and refilling your drinks. Only reason it isn't a 5 star is the clientele isn't exactly as expected, so the overall ambiance isn't what you would hope for, but let's face it, that's not why you come here to eat so enjoy one of the few buffets left in the area. read more

The first thing you experience as you enter the restaurant is a terrible odor and dangerously slippery floors. Not wet, just slippery. Perhaps slimy is a better word. The buffet assortment is vast, but the quality of the food is abysmal. I had boneless pork and sweet and sour chicken. Both items had the same taste... as if they were prepared in cookery that still had dish soap in them. The rice is bland. The dishes that you take in order to serve yourself are a sticky, gooey mess. Yes, all of them. I don't know what the stickiness is and I don't want to know. The prices are very low for the lowest quality Chinese buffet food I've ever had. A relatively standard Chinese buffet and they're taking reasonable precautions during COVID. The only issue I noticed was that the tables aren't too separated. But on the plus side, the staff were all wearing masks and diners were wearing them. As well, there are boxes of one-time gloves on the buffet tables to be used when handling the tongs. The options on the table were the usual Americanized Chinese with chicken and beef and shrimp in sauces plus a table of salads, another of desserts and one of dressings and sauces and soups. I managed to put together a good selection of spicy beef and fried chicken bits and sweet shrimp with some baked surimi. A bit of hot mustard kicked up the flavor. There is also a good display of sushi that was in good condition. A hibachi table has meats and veggies to be cooked to order. Service was attentive and removed dirty plates as needed. The location is not the ideal place, it's in front of this abandoned shopping complex. As you enter, you will be checked-in with the nice ladies. If you've never been to an asian based buffet, this is a good time to just try it out. I've noticed that the workers are keeping the buffet areas clean and consistently replenished. Your server will have the task of clearing your plates once you're done and about to get for more. They do not change your utensils, so make sure you keep them in one spot when you get up to get more food. If you're hungry and don't know what to eat, Chinese, Italian, Japanese, or even Korean, this is the place. Want to finish it with some fresh cut fruits or ice cream, this is it! $10 plus tax per person for an all you can eat lunch OR $13 plus tax per person for an all you can eat dinner. I am super sketchy about buffets, no less ones that have raw fish. I went with w tour group and the guides said they come here all the time with groups and have never gotten sick. When we arrived on a Friday night at 545 PM. It was a mob house. However, because the buffet is so large somehow it works. You sit down and wait for the server to come with your drink order. It's a large like a 24 oz maybe. I only ate the non raw sushi maki rolls are on a table alone. The sushi/hibachi area is as soon as you walk in If you walk in you may not even notice it. The square has staff in the middle of it with counters of cooked sushi rolls, a separate one for raw and then the hibachi is at the back. By the looks of the people there they do this often. I could not get over how much shellfish on the half shell they had as well as boiled crawfish with the fixings. I wish they had had sanitizer on the tables or a wet nap to clean your hands after you touched all of the Sebring utensils. I saw so many guests getting peel and eat shrimp that I know they were not washing there hands when they went back for more. Based on the recent and unresolved health code violations-I really did not want to go eat. That being said I survived the next day with no illness. This place is super loud tho. read more

For a buffet this place is solid. I came in with my expectations low but it's honestly not bad. We came on Sunday night at about 630, food trays were loaded and they filled them back every few mins. The food isn't great and doesn't taste like Chinese take out but it's not horrible either. And if you're in a mood where you can throw back some food, you'll def get your moneys worth. I really liked that they had fries for my toddler too. Most food is bland and some have a bit too much sugar. However for an all you can eat buffet for about $20/ adult at dinner, we left happy and full! We are locals and used to come here occasionally, the food is always hit and miss, mostly cold and stale-tasting. The sushi bar does not look or taste fresh at all, I would just avoid it. Ambiance is what you would expect, the terrible odor catches you off guard though. The last time we were here, the service was atrocious--I ordered a soda and my friend ordered tea, he took a sip of my soda and the waitress didn't want to refill my drink because we were sharing and apparently thta was against their rules. We did a quick walk around to purview the offerings and it looked mediocre at best but our little one wanted sushi buffet desperately. The hibachi was alright but they had to call the chef out to cook it and he seemed put out to even address his responsibility. Definitely worth the drive from Jacksonville! We have finally found a Chinese Buffett that offers all of our favorites. The price for all 5 of us was actually cheaper than me ordering through DoorDAsh. It's not a 6 ft rule here as far as distance but they do provide gloves to use when getting your food.
