If you are looking for a home style eatery that has plates overflowing with eats, check out Ned's Southern Kitchen. The atmosphere is open and friendly. I was with a group who were hungry for the Southern comfort foods and was invited to check out a new place. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the service was really attentive. You were able to get a sense of that down home family place to go. Enjoy your meal and settle in for an abundance of food.

Shoutout to our local community heroes ! Who knew that I would be able to enjoy on of the best spinach pies ever made at Ned's! When the specials were announced to our table, I was like say less! This beauty was presented with a crust so crispy, flaky, delicate and then generously filled with savory spinach goodness with creamy feta.... Taste the Love!! I savored every bite and did not even let anyone try to taste some! They made their choice... I have no regrets! I know that they all loved their entrees, because theirs was gone as quickly as mine! I noticed that towards the end, I kept cutting the last pieces smaller than the previous, because I was trying to make it last longer! But alas, all good things must come to an end... until next time ... Easter 2026 is dropping the mic !!

The food is great "American" style with a twist. Service is always spot on. No waiting on refills of drinks no long wait to order. The ambiance is very casual and laid back. We come every week. We ask for Tony for r Crystal just because they know our tastes.

Neds is still on my favorites list. I ordered the Southside salad and it was packed with flavor -- veggies, fresh, and really well balanced. The service was quick, the food came out fresh and everything tasted amazing. Highly recommend if you're looking for something light and filling.

One of my top restaurants to get good grub in St. Augustine that's not hipster, touristy nor over-the-top. It's like the epitome of the St. Augustine we used to know growing up. The service at Ned's is consistently great! Michelle was our server and she was very personable, efficient and gave outstanding customer service. The entire staff was amazing and didn't miss a beat from the chefs to the gals at the counter. Come as you are... There's definitely something on the menu for everyone's palate. I tried the recommended Flounder Pesada lunch special and the fish was perfectly seasoned, cooked and sauced paired with a fresh garlic, butter and lemon pasta and bread. My meal also came with string beans and carrots that went nicely with the meal. I had plenty of food to enjoy so the portions are very generous. If you like fish, this was excellent! The calamari and fried green tomatoes are fantastic starters to share and if you have room, their peanut butter pie is worth getting or order one of each dessert to pass around. Their black coffee was good and strong which I certainly appreciate when paired with desserts. Overall, Ned's Southside Kitchen is a real local winner with delicious food options. Just a fantastic little diner all around! 5-STARS

This is a must visit restaurant too. If you love southern food, this is a right place. I love their dinner menu. But this time we went for lunch. And they got a lots of delicious food too. I had frittata, love it. With some veggies. The service is okay, you gotta little patience because they have a lots of customers. The restaurant is very casual. And people talking loud enough. Anyway, prices are reasonable.

Very cool dining experience! I had the Southside salad (which was as big as my head) with grilled chicken with a nutritional yeast and garlic dressing. Our server was friendly and attentive. We were sat right away in this cozy restaurant.

Lunch with hubby. Hubby had the shrimp and grits and I had the chicken salad with came with a side salad and pita wedges. We also ordered an appetizer, caprese plate which was awesome. Recommend this place

Our awesome turkey and meatloaf dinners!

Great Southern comfort food! We eat at Ned's for the first time and it was delicious. My wife had the turkey dinner and I chose the meatloaf. The portions were huge and the service was excellent. Our waitress was friendly and engaging. We'll be back soon.

It was disappointing because every single employee we encountered was not overly friendly. This includes hostess, bartender and waitress. It was odd. Such a cute place but we felt like the staff was just blah. No personality, not helpful, nothing. Not interactive or engaging. Maybe it was an off night for everyone. I will give it another chance.

I loved that haha! They had everything from classic tiki drinks, to modern, to drinks by liquor type, etc. It had the food menu, some information about the bar and how it came about. We ordered a few drinks: Bushido Rhapsody (DELICIOUS), Stars & Sarsaparilla (husband liked it) and their currently rotating tiki drink - Escape from Black Mountain, which serves 2 and is served in a cool mug of the bust of Pedro Menendez. You can purchase it as well! It was so good and felt never ending between the 2 of us drinking it. For food we ordered a couple of apps - Cajun Chicken Eggrolls and the Montenegro Meatballs. Both were fantastic!! If we didn't already have dinner plans, we would have stayed here for dinner! Definitely will be coming back here next time we are in town and every time after that!

As for the staff......our waitress was good and helpful. Then, about 5 min before we were done, I received a phone call from my daughter and grandson because they got a new kitty. Not something you just talk over the phone about, needed FaceTime! The rudest person I believe I have ever met in 50 years of life, poked her head around the corner and very loudly stated she did NOT want to hear my conversation, and to turn my call down or get off. There was only 1 other customer there, on the other side of the room, we couldn't even see from our seats due to a wall. This was JUST an employee. This woman represented the owner, her sister! We immediately got up, without finishing, walked to the front where I said that was the rudest experience I had ever had. She continued with, "no what you are doing is rude!" I said answering a call from my daughter is NOT rude! Treating a customer this way is and I walked out. My husband went to pay, and asked her if she was the owner. She said no, my sister is. To which he replied, "then I don't want to hear another word out of your mouth! Your opinion does not matter! She didn't like that at all. We paid and tipped our waitress but will NEVER return! I hope that her sister takes this very seriously! It is not ok to be that rude to your customers! I would fire anyone who talked to my customers that way. There is a way to handle things you don't like. She had zero empathy and her approach was unacceptable. Her clout, lacking lol!

What should have been a pleasant dining experience turned into an extremely stressful and disappointing situation due to the unprofessional conduct of the manager on duty, Ms. Kale. Upon arrival, my family and I were instructed to wait outside, which we did patiently for nearly an hour. Despite this long wait, we were then seated in an extremely crowded area with no regard for comfort, space, or safety. This lack of organization created significant stress for us, especially given my current recovery from a broken femur and hip. Additionally, my elderly mother, who flew from another country to visit us, and my four children -- including one with special needs -- were placed in an environment that was unnecessarily overwhelming and preventable with proper management. What made the situation far worse, however, was the behavior of Ms. Kale. When we voiced our concerns politely, she responded with unacceptable rudeness. Instead of offering a professional apology or attempting to correct the situation, she dismissed our concerns and even laughed in our faces. This reaction was not only unprofessional but deeply disrespectful. It reflected a complete lack of leadership, empathy, and customer-care standards. It is clear that this location is focused on bringing in as many guests as possible for profit, yet management is failing to properly coordinate seating, resulting in overcrowding and poor guest experiences. A manager's role is to ensure smooth operations and address issues respectfully -- something that was clearly lacking under Ms. Kale's supervision. I hope that this complaint is taken seriously, as no family should be treated in this manner. I request that appropriate action be taken to address the behavior of the manager and to improve the overall management practices at this location. Thank you for your attention. I look forward to you seeing seeing to help improvements implemented so that other guests do not experience what we did.

I had to use the other lettuce to share the few drops of dressing. See attached picture. It was sad. My scallop dish came out and I was disappointed not to see a sear on the scallops. They were well cooked and not over done but the seared taste was missing. Here is where the dish gets weird. The scallops were on a fried potato pancake covered in swiss cheese. The cheese had solidified so it wasnt a sauce. Scallops and swiss cheese, in my opinion, dont go together. The scallops were missing some sort of brightness and acidity. A lemon sauce of some kind would have helped. And the potato pancake was super greasy. If I went back I would not order that dish again. Dylan, my server, was great. He was super attentive and helpful. The service itself was superb and 5 stars.
