They had me with their fresh cut French fries appetizer. So crispy and delicious. The came with an aoili dipping sauce and of course ketchup. The building is extremely cool looking. Windows high up and a very tall room. Our server explained most all the specials to our group of 7. He did a fantastic job.

Came back to eat my favorite truffle fries. Now we have another favorite. Their fish dip was soo good! We had a cup of their house wine $12 a glass. Also a Mexican lager was very good. We came in at 5pm but no happy hour on a Tuesday. Bill for 2 burgers, 2 appetizers and 4 drinks $165. I found it very expensive. Our waitress Sara was very good! She's a hustler. Place has great atmosphere and fits in perfectly with St. Augustine.

Must try when visiting Old St Augustine... one of the reasons we're purchasing a home here. Food is excellent, great atmosphere, and too notch service. Definitely do the tour if it's your first visit.

Jasmine our server was the absolute best. Explained the differences between the drink selections!! I ended up with the Moscow Mule, my wife enjoyed her Old Fashioned, our friends had an Espresso Martini, and a Mary Taylor glass of wine! We shared a burger with Muenster aioli!! All good. I'd post more but we had such a good time I forgot to take pictures!!!

    House Punch

Moderately expensive- food was good but not fantastic except for the dressing in my salad was amazing- Bartender was excellent! The ice balls I loved and the house punch was the best! The ambience could be improved with more pictures on the wall and a more cleaner space. maybe color? layout was good the double bar was very nice- just more work on the ambience-

The Ice Plant is one of my favorite spots for a date night, especially seated at the bar. The craft cocktail bartenders are incredibly knowledgeable and clearly take pride in what they do. Huge variety of exceptionally well-made drinks, paired with a great ambiance that makes you want to stay awhile.

We walked in fairly early, around 4:45 on a Saturday eve. It looked pretty packed. The hostess greets. We said we'd try to find something at one of their 3 bars, after a quick walk around, we decided to get a table. It is a very cool historical place which has multi levels. Love old bars like this. We ordered the crab beignets. Our server, Sam did forward us that they were very filling. We hasn't eaten all day so we thought we could handle 4 and split an entree. The crab beignets were fried and full of crab, very good but next time 2 will be fine. We shared a pasta and rockshrimp dish with saffron . It was excellent. The shrimp was amazing. I ordered a "red corvette " cocktail which was good, maybe a little on the sweet side. Ambience: 5 Service: 4 Food: 4

My wife and I really enjoyed the burger and pasta we had for lunch. As usual, we shared our meals by swapping plates halfway through. It's our favorite way to try a bit of everything, The cider I chose was on the drier side, not quite my favorite, but still okay. Overall, the service was pretty good. The Ice Plant is housed in a restored industrial building dating back to 1927 blending historic charm with a modern, stylish atmosphere. The second floor houses the Ice Plant restaurant while the first floor is home to St. Augustine Distillery.

My drink was absolutely incredible, the liquor was washed with ricotta, giving it an unbelievably smooth texture that paired perfectly with the berry flavors! It honestly tasted like ice cream in the best way. I ordered the fried chicken plate, which came with collard greens, hoe cakes, and apricot butter. Everything is truly farm to table with nothing made from a mix, and you can taste the difference in every bite. We also tried the crab filled beignets, and they are to die for. I could have eaten twenty, they were that good. The drinks are incredibly creative, and the food is a total home run. Service was great, and the ambiance is lovely. It's rustic, warm, and comfortable. A fantastic experience all around.

There is a balcony upstairs that has great views.

Everyone needs to experience this place just once in their life, and if you only order one thing, may it be the skillet fried chicken and hoecakes! Drinks are amazing. Service is fun and friendly and the vibe is lively but chill.

Took my girlfriend to Ice Plant Bar, I've been before and she hasn't. The service was good and the food was amazing Per usual. The old school atmosphere is 10:/10. She wants to come back for brunch.

This place was so good, had to come twice in 1 day! First for drinks before dinner then again for drinks and late night eats! There was a good amount of bartenders here and they were attentive and courteous. Great service from the host downstairs and was super proactive in finding seats at the bar The Devil wears Prada was such a cool drink with grated coffee bean shavings on the top. Prince of darkness was heavy on the smokiness and it looked really dark and mysterious The blue crab beignets was my fav and everything I wanted it to be. The local shrimp aguachile was super red and great with the avocado and pepitas. The pimento cheese was quite sweet and the least fav out of the 3 dishes I kept seeing Datil peppers everywhere in this town and once I googled it, it said it's a pepper native to St Augustine. That was a fun fact to find out. It's got some pepper flavor without being too spicy and has some sweetness to it. Some places have it real sweet with added sugars

    Bar area!

What a cool and amazing place! I loved the decor and the history behind this restaurant/bar. The food was excellent, especially the mushroom bisque. I really enjoyed my Moscow mule. Staff were welcoming and the service was great! Definitely recommend!

Ask the Community - The Ice Plant

Current happy hour menu & prices?

They do have a happy hour with drink specials. Usually wonderful cocktails & when I've been they had old fashion so that's def the time to get one for the price. Honestly unsure about food but we've eaten there and it's delicious.

    Is it cold inside?

    Slightly cold, but it's tolerable

    Is it pet friendly?

Yes. I saw an outside patio and someone had there dog with them

    Is there parking on site?

There is plenty of parking and the old town trolley has a stop there.

    Do they take reservations?

They do not take reservations so if you're going for happy hour or dinner, get there early or be prepared to wait at least 45 mins to an hour or more.

Visiting for the weekend. Family friendly including kids?

Ice Plant is primarily a bar, BUT their menu has items that will appeal to middle schoolers and above. Would not recommend for preschoolers and K-3. The rest - depends on their maturity.

    Dog friendly out side?

I don't recall seeing outside seating.

No reservations? How busy does it get on a weekday for lunch? Is it crazy?

Weekends def get there before they open. We stayed across the street so we just strolled over at 9:50am and got sat right at 10 when they opened. The place does fill up fast so I would say the sooner the better. It is first come first serve.

Do they still serve the Sherry Cobbler cocktail?

I can't imagine why they wouldn't. I didn't notice a difference in their cocktails offered since Covid began. You can call to be sure, but regardless, you'd get a great drink no matter what you order.

Is this a dog friendly establishment?

Dogs allowed on their patio downstairs but you would have to go upstairs to the restaurant and order at the bar and have your food brought down to you. Dogs aren't allowed in the restaurant.

Do they make a Bramble? Gin, Lemon juice, creme du mure?

Of course they do. If someone named it, they make it.

    When is Happy Hour?

I dont know, I went during lunch. Sorry

Is the Ice Plant smoke free?

    Yes

I noticed there are stairs leading to the front entrance. Is there a wheelchair-accessible entrance anywhere? A ramp?

I'm almost positive there is an elevator by the bathrooms. I can't imagine they designed it without being ADA compliant.

Do you have Monday night happy hours?

Yes! We arrived just before 5 when Happy Hour ends.

Is it all ages or 21+? (not looking to take youngsters but possibly teens)

It is all ages. They have an extensive bar menu but you don't have to drink, of course, and kids and minors are welcome, just like any other restaurant.

Do you have a happy hour?

    Yes 2:30-5PM Mon-Fri and 10PM-1:30AM Sun-Thurs.

    Do they have brunch?

YES. It's amazing. Great southern, filling options at fair prices! See my review for photos of brunch!! Tip- eat brunch then take a free tour of the distillery where you will get free samples of alcohol.

What should I wear to eat here?

    Casual is perfect!

Are there vegan food options here?

Yes but not a lot. The hummus is fantastic. The drinks are vegan haha.

Arrival: There are parking lots nearby--expect to pay around $15-25. As we walked up, there was live jazz music playing in the courtyard, which set a really great vibe right away. Service: Our waiter was attentive and timely without being overbearing. Food: Everything was amazing. We started with the bread service--the truffle butter was definitely the highlight (we didn't care too much for the ricotta spread). FYI: the little cubes that look like white cheddar are *not* cheese...I learned that the hard way by biting into a square of butter. For dinner, I had the cacio e pepe and he ordered the 100 lasagna. Portions were a bit smaller than expected, but honestly fine after filling up on bread. For dessert, we shared an affogato--the espresso wasn't burnt (which is surprisingly rare), so that was a big win. Overall: After the Resy credit, parking ended up costing more than the meal, which is kind of wild. Only downside was that there are just two restrooms, and there was a line when we went. Great time overall--will definitely be back.
