Harry's continues to be one of our favorite restaurants in downtown St. Augustine. Even on a busy Saturday night, it's worth the wait. We visited with a party of four on a Saturday evening and were quoted about an hour. Honestly, we didn't mind at all. We spent the time looking at the bayfront, enjoying the evening, and catching up on life while we waited. Parking, however, is another story. That's downtown St. Augustine these days--not Harry's fault--but be prepared. We ended up paying $25 to park and had about a 10-minute walk to the restaurant. Still worth it. We were seated outside at a spacious round table, which was perfect for conversation. The patio has a cozy garden feel with tiki torches, string lights, and beautiful landscaping. The only downside was that our table was tucked into a back corner where two walls met, so it didn't catch much of the evening breeze and got pretty warm. On the bright side, the tiki torches seemed to keep the bugs away because they weren't an issue at all. Our server, Samantha, was friendly and did a great job despite how busy the restaurant was. Water refills were a little slower than I'd normally like on a hot Florida evening, but with such a full restaurant, it was understandable and certainly wasn't enough to take away from an otherwise great experience. The only significant miss of the night was the live entertainment. We've visited many times when they've had musicians performing, and it's usually one of the things we enjoy most. Tonight's performer was a talented keyboard player, but unfortunately the vocals were consistently off pitch and the lyrics were difficult to understand. Familiar songs weren't recognizable until the chorus. Hopefully it was just an off night because our previous experiences with the live music have all been excellent. Now...the food. We never skip the Fried Green Tomatoes appetizer. Years ago we made a point of ordering fried green tomatoes everywhere we went while visiting Savannah, Georgia, and Harry's is still my favorite. The coating is perfectly crisp and actually stays attached to the tomato, while the creamy goat cheese and remoulade sauce bring everything together. Two of the slices were noticeably smaller than the others this visit, but we devoured them so quickly I didn't even think to take a picture! I ordered the Shrimp & Grits, and it was outstanding. If you're sensitive to spice like I am, don't let the Cajun flavors scare you away. It has just enough kick to add flavor without overpowering the dish. The creamy grits topped with freshly shaved Parmesan paired perfectly with the rich sauce. Do yourself a favor and ask for bread--you'll want every last drop of that sauce. My husband ordered the Seared Ahi Tuna, which has become his favorite thing on the menu. He orders it almost every time we visit, and it never disappoints. The other two in our party ordered one of the chicken pasta dishes and one of the shrimp pasta dishes. Both were flavorful without being spicy, making them great choices for anyone who prefers milder options. To drink, I had the Hurricane ($12.99), which was exactly what I was hoping for--fruity, refreshing, and perfect for a summer evening. My husband ordered a Tall Tito's & Tonic with a twist. He said it was good, but nothing particularly memorable. Harry's continues to be one of those restaurants we come back to year after year because it's consistently good. Between the atmosphere, the food, the location across from the bayfront, and the friendly service, it's easy to see why it's become a downtown St. Augustine favorite. We'll definitely be back.

Fun atmosphere in a premier location on the riverfront in the historical district of St. Augustine. We walked in without reservations around 5:30 pm and were able to get outdoor seating in the courtyard. By 6 pm, it was packed and a long line of customers waiting for tables. From the New Orleans inspired menu, I ordered a bowl of Gumbo to share as an appetizer and andouille crusted grouper as the main entree. My husband ordered the French Market pasta. All had great flavors and the portion were huge. During dinner there was live entertainment which was nice. The courtyard was pleasant. We finished 2 hours later and the line to get in was even longer. Overall, a must go when visiting St. Augustine.

I so immensely enjoyed the food, service and ambiance of Harry's that I came here not once, but twice for dinner while on vacation in St. Augustine! Expect a wait. That is a given for either lunch or dinner, unless you come on the earlier side. The first time, we waited 30 minutes and the second time about 20. For food we tried Harry's Gumbo, Crawfish and Shrimp Etouffe, Shrimp and Scallops Orleans, and Crabcakes. The portions are large, and some of the entrees on the heavy side, but absolutely delicious. For dessert we ordered, Key Lime Pie and Banana Creme Brûlée. The desserts did not live up to the rest of the meal, but still capped off the evening nicely. The first time we were sat downstairs and our service was fantastic. Our waiter was personable, knowledgable and effortlessly managing several tables at once. The second time we were seated upstairs and waited on by the bartender, this scenario was not as great, but the food still was.

I rarely give restaurants a five star review but Harry's Seafood Bar & Grill deserves every bit of it. We were in town visiting friends who live locally and they brought us here and put a lot of thought into it. I got the crab cakes dinner and I got one side with it. I chose the red beans and rice. Both the entree and the side were delicious. My friends got Jambalaya, grit cake, Fat tire, boudin balls and red fish. Everyone loved their food and our waitress Kayla was amazing. She was so much fun and right on top of everything.

Yum! After a couple of days near Orlando and having too much fast food and pizza (because of my kids) I was really looking forward to some good seafood. This place did not disappoint! We started with the crab cake appetizer which was fantastic. I ordered the crab dusted redfish royale which was delicious! I love the smashed potatoes and corn maque choux. Unfortunately I was stuffed from the crab cake appetizer and the side salad I ordered so I couldn't eat too much. My husband had the andouille crusted grouper which he said was fantastic. My son ordered the southern fried chicken tenders which he said were just ok since they were kind of soft and not very crispy. We sat in the alley/patio area and the seating and ambiance was absolutely beautiful. Service was excellent as well. I'd definitely recommend this place!

I took a day trip with some friends to St. Augustine and we discovered this incredible seafood restaurant. Harry's Seafood Bar & Grille is a cozy rustic and modern venue. You know it's good when there's a long wait. It's a cute two story building with an outdoor seating area. Since it was a little chilly out, they had lamp heaters available and even live entertainment. The particular singer that day was phenomenal with her unique raspy indie tone. We had a 20 minute wait for our table which happened to be outdoors, so we bought drinks at the bar. The Bloody Mary and Sangria were both better than expected. The downstairs bar was a little tiny for the amount of patrons, but cozy. There's also a bar upstairs. When we finally got seated, we were pleased to have an awesome server. He was attentive, helpful, and had a good sense of humor with our silly group. The staff in general were friendly. I can honestly say that everything we ordered was good. For appetizers we chose Fried Green Tomatoes, Cheese Dip, Fish Strips and Seafood Dip. Dinner included Seared Tuna, Seafood Pasta, Crab Cakes, and a Redfish special. Everything was well seasoned, savory, and rather sizable portions. The only downside is that there may be a wait for the restrooms since this is definitely a high traffic restaurant! There's plenty of pay parking lots.

My family and I came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon. It was a little hot outside, so we sat indoors in one of the dining rooms. I had the blackened fish tacos with a side of collard greens. The tacos were filled with fresh pico de gallo and lettuce, and the greens were salty and a little spicy. All of us really enjoyed our food! Our waitress was great and checked in on us a few times during our meal. I would definitely recommend this spot!

Finally made it to Harry's. Nice atmosphere I was seated upstairs & it took forever for my food to come & then my drink never came until way after my food arrived smdh. Drinks usually come out first. Food was ok but I got sick immediately after eating @ Harry's so it's a one & done for me...extremely slow service & I think the waitress forgot to put my drink order in.

Taste: 5/5 Value: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Every time I'm in St. Augustine, someone tells me to go to Harry's Seafood Bar, and honestly, they're right! The food is consistently delicious, it really lives up to the hype. Definitely a must-visit if you're in St. Augustine, especially if you're in the mood for flavorful, New Orleans-style seafood dishes. The outdoor setup is a big part of what makes it so enjoyable. It's a really comfortable and well-done space with a great atmosphere, laid-back and yet still lively. They've got heaters going when it's chilly and umbrellas for when the sun gets a little intense, so it's a solid spot no matter the weather. On our most recent visit, our server Jesse was super helpful and made sure everything ran smoothly. He checked in at the right times, had great recommendations, and really added to the overall experience. All around, it's one of those places that's easy to recommend. Great food, great vibe, and solid service, definitely worth checking out.

Amazing restaurant. Beautiful inside and out, large patio outside for when weather is nice. Live music of the weekends, I think. Our server was excellent, very attentive and efficient. The bread is delicious, soft, and the garlic butter ... yum... spreads so nicely. I started with a Blackberry Bramble which was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this beverage. I had shrimp and grits as it was a chilly day. It was as perfect as any can be. The grits were smooth and creamy, shrimp lightly seasoned and served in a Cajun gravy. My husband had the fried shrimp and said it was excellent. He doesn't eat cole slaw, so I had his and it was so good, fresh sweet, and delightfully crunchy. Will definitely visit this restaurant again!!

We love sitting outside on the patio at this bustling restaurant. We had a drink while waiting to be seated. Service is friendly but a bit slow. We ordered the Fish Tacos (blackened), which were very good and also tried the Shrimp & Crawfish Pot Pie. The fish tacos had a nice crunch. The pot pie is extremely rich so be prepared if you're not ready for a heavy entree. Both entrées came with sides so we ordered the collard greens which were delicious, and rice and beans which also were good, but needed a little kick of hot sauce

Harry's is a staple for my boyfriend for when we go to St. Augustine. And there's a reason for it! They have wonderful food and are conveniently located in the walking area of downtown st Augustine. Service has been a little hit or miss depending on when we've come but it's not been horrible. If you've come for dinner be prepared to wait. Anytime we've stopped in after 5 it's always been about an hour wait and there's very limited seating space to wait. However, while you're waiting they do have a server who will take drink orders and bring them out to you. We love that service as it's very convenient. This is an old home or business that's been converted on each floor to have its own kitchen. We've dined on the first and second floor, and so far I prefer the first floor dining space as it was just a little less crowded. The food can be spicy so be wary of what you're ordering! The mashed potatoes have a kick to them that's not advertised. The pasta has a kick on the aftertaste. I'm not able to handle really spicy foods and unfortunately for me most of the menu is off limits. However my boyfriend finds the spice a lot more tolerable and loves the salmon dish. Overall, it's a bit of a pricier place to eat but it's a nice treat once in a while.

We arrived around 4pm in November, so a busy time since it's during Night of Lights and they don't take reservations. The wait was about 20 minutes; be sure to walk all the way inside to put your name on the list (there was no host outside where guests were waiting). The jambalaya was very good. Everything was seasoned well, and the side of rice and chicken was just okay. Although it was busy, service didn't lack.

    Unfortunately, no.

No only street or parking lots. Both you pay to park.

Are there any gluten free options?

The menu has many options and I'm sure they can accommodate your dietary needs by recommending dishes that are naturally gluten free. They do have their menu available to view as well if you need to look ahead of time. Hope this helps :)

    Yes! Family friendly

    Do they take reservations?

They do not take reservations. You can call them and ask for the wait time, though!

Both times I was there! Yes. They were truly service animals for some former military guys

Yes they have their own lot or you can park somewhere else and walk. We have parked in the street before for free and just walked.

    Is there Happy hour?

I don't know if they have Happy Hour per se; but, they have a slew of daily specials, which makes it worth a visit almost any day of the week. My wife and I ordered cocktails off the regular menu; and, they were not very expensive.

One of our favorite things to do in every new city is seek out the local favorites and discover our own go to restaurants. This time, we decided to give St. Augustine Fish Camp a try. Right away, we were impressed. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive throughout the meal. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and the waterfront views made for a great dining experience. We ordered the clam chowder, Spicy Seafood Linguini, and Shrimp & Grits. Unfortunately, I'd love to be able to rave about the food, but shortly after we finished eating, I became sick and dealt with an upset stomach for the rest of the night. My fiancé also didn't feel well afterward, although her symptoms were much milder. This was the first and only meal we'd eaten since earlier that afternoon, so we suspect it may have been related to something we ate, though we can't say that with absolute certainty. That said, one bad experience doesn't define a restaurant. The service and atmosphere were both excellent, and it's clear from the many positive reviews that plenty of people have had great meals here. We'll give St. Augustine Fish Camp another chance before we leave town, but next time we'll probably order different menu items. Thanks for reading, we hope our experience is helpful!

The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

Antique, rustic, comfortable, and full of enough character that you almost feel like you've stepped 200 years back in time. Then the drinks arrive, and suddenly you realize you've been transported into the future of cocktails. I wish I could remember the name of the drink I ordered because it was spectacular. Whiskey, a little sweetness, mint, and crushed ice. That's about all I can tell you. What I can tell you is that I could have happily consumed about 30 of them, tumbled down the stairs, and been perfectly happy about the whole experience. My wife went with the Mojito, and it was brilliantly constructed. The crushed ice and layered mint made it look almost too good to drink. Almost. The drinks absolutely deserve five stars. Then came the blue crab beignets, and they were spectacular. That's the kind of appetizer that makes you stop talking for a minute because everyone at the table is too busy enjoying what's happening. Unfortunately, the rest of the food didn't quite live up to the cocktails. The fish dip was very average and lacked much flavor, and the menu itself felt pretty limited. So here's the deal: if you're coming to The Ice Plant for drinks, I would have no problem giving it five stars. The cocktails are that good. This is a highly recommended stop for a drink in St. Augustine. But I have to review the entire experience, and the limited menu and average fish dip bring the overall experience down a notch. Four stars. Come for the drinks. Stay for the atmosphere. Definitely order the blue crab beignets. And if you happen to find yourself three cocktails deep, admiring the antique decor while contemplating the stairs, maybe just take your time.
