Caribbean Salad with honey lime dressing
    Rachel G.

I stopped into OC White's around 6:30pm on a Sunday to order the Caribbean salad and bruschetta to go and sat at the bar with a water while I waited. The female bartender was really friendly and kind. My food was ready in under five minutes, which was such a nice surprise after a long day. I'm usually really basic about salad dressing and was a little unsure about the honey lime dressing with all the toppings, but I took the plunge and it ended up being really good and went perfectly with the fruit and nuts. The Caribbean salad was super fresh and delicious (even when I had the second half the next night!), and the bruschetta was great too. Very crunchy! They have a free parking lot for restaurant customers, which makes it an easy choice in busy St. Augustine. I'd definitely order from here again.

Very nice atmospheres and a warm welcome, with an offer sit outside during the week. Server was prompt and familiar with the days specials and didn't waste any time taking our orders. Started with a standard Fried Calamari, that was served at a good temp and plentiful. Unfortunately it was a bit bland. Next was a nice cup of New England Clam Chowder, that was very flavorful but slightly thicker than I prefer. Fried Flounder Sandwich was good flaky and not greasy, served with seasoned French Fries, which are a big NO in my book. I want to taste the potato and not a mix seasoning profile. Great ambiance and setting with great service well priced for good food.

We were looking for a spot to grab some seafood and saw this in the distance so decided to try it. Now being in St Augustine the prices are not going to be cheap and they weren't here. The portions were very small too unfortunately. I will say though that everything tasted fresh ! My mom and I split the fish and chips and the Cod fish was amazing . The fries were really good too. We ended up getting green colored mimosas which was a fun touch to our lunch. We sat outside and it was a beautiful day and the outside seating is very pretty . Tons of tables and greenery. Our server was attentive and nice.

It was another very busy weekend in Saint Augustine when we were all looking for a place to eat dinner. Being a group of seven it's hard to accommodate well and OC White's did it with grace and ease. We were seated right away. Our server was very attentive and amazing. We started out by ordering a drink, and they were very good. What we liked most is that they had a selection of a specialty drinks, which made our visit unique. They were all scrumptious. What was even better was our dinner. The fish tacos were very, very good. The fish was tender, and it was not covered with a bunch of batter. It was flaky well cooked and paired well with the mango salsa, served on top. The crabcakes and the clam chowder were all delicious. This is a place that I will revisit every time I come to Saint Augustine because they made seating easy. . . Something that is hard to find in this area. Oh, and they had a live guitar and singer outside, which was a super nice touch.

Conch fritters are delicious good size very tasty! We also had the fish and chips with Mahi - wow tasted great. We had a lovely server Barbie. She was attentive and kind. Ambience is both fun, you can watch sports or sit outside and enjoy the beautiful bay view. Would definitely recommend and return.

Came here for dinner while visiting the area. The location is fantastic, spacious outdoor patio with live music and plenty of seating indoor in the two story restaurant. The parking validation they offers is also hard to come by for the area. Even though they were very busy, our wait was only 15 mins, which was very reasonable compared to other near by spots. Our server was friendly. I ordered the fish&chips with catch of the day, mahi mahi. The fish was tender, and clearly freshly made. Over all I'd definitely recommend this place!

We enjoyed the live music as we waited for a table. It was really busy, but after about 40 minutes we were seated. The seafood here was delicious. For the appetizer, we ordered the bruschetta, which was a little heavy on the balsamic, but was otherwise good. For dinner we ate the bronzed salmon, which was basically a Cajun crusted salmon. We loved the flavor and the slight spice at the end. We also got the fish and chips, which were light and flaky. The atmosphere itself was lovely and inviting. We would have liked to be upstairs, but maybe that's just for bigger parties. Either way, on a busy Saturday, this was a great option!

This was our first time here and we LOVED it! The service, the ambiance, the food, the live music, the outdoor seating area, all were AMAZING! Everyone thought their meals were great and they even have $3 hard ciders. We might become regulars.

Great service and nice patio seating. Inside basic bar with bar seats. Hamburger was very good and cod sandwich excellent. Would recommend. On Trolly stop.

I found this to be a thoroughly enjoyable place to get dinner! Everything was tasty and fresh, service was fast, and our server Lauren was very friendly with great recommendations and a considerate touch. With the exception of the calamari and white sangria, everything we had was a specia/not on the regular menul, but I feel confident saying taking a shot with them. Live music and ambience on the patio make this a fantastic choice in downtown to grab a bite for dinner!

We did a walking tour of St. Augustine this morning and then decided to have lunch here afterwards. It was a great decision. They have plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating so we decided to sit outside on their shady patio. It was a really nice ambiance. Our server, Brenda, quickly came over with some cold waters. The menu has plenty of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrees. I opted for the fried fish and chips. It also came with cucumber salad. The fish was Cod and was a nice size portion. The fries were nicely seasoned so ketchup was not even necessary. My husband had the shrimp melt sandwich and really enjoyed it. He upgraded for the sweet potato fries and loved them as well.

Ok, so I'm from Chicago and Naples where there a lot of great chefs and restaurants just about everywhere. Also catered food and had a wedding dessert company. But today it was a win win Beautiful day outside in a beautiful courtyard Was really just in awe when Bobby H appeared. Such a great person and very entertaining. Timely , a real People person. Don't loose him! Great day Thank you

Restaurant located across from bay. Has indoor dining, upstairs and beautiful patio. We sat in patio for Sunday Brunch. Our server was Jonothan. He was attentive and thoughtful We had shrimp and grits, pancakes and bacon, and the shrimp omelet everything was delicious. They have plenty of fans outside so we were very comfortable. I will definitely be returning for dinner.

The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

When I arrived with my pregnant wife and my service dog, he asked somewhat curtly if it was a service dog. After I confirmed and thanked him, he rudely placed the menu on the table, turned around without saying another word or showing any basic courtesy, and just walked away with his back to us. It was a pretty cold and uncomfortable welcome. That said, the restaurant is absolutely charming. I really loved the interior ambiance--it's cozy, well-decorated, and has a very pleasant vibe. The food was extremely delicious. We ordered the Half Pound Ice Plant Burger and it was juicy, fresh, and packed with flavor. You could taste the quality in every single bite--the meat was perfect, the ingredients fresh, and everything very well balanced. Definitely one of the best burgers I've had recently. Despite the initial host experience, I would return without hesitation for the food and the atmosphere. Highly recommended, but they could improve the initial greeting.

We dropped in late afternoon and grabbed a few seats at the indoor bar. The bar staff here works the entire bar I'm sure we were greeted by all of them during our visit and each provided exceptional service. The drinks here are very creative and all come with very generous pours, if you like rum this is a place you'll fall in love with after your first sip - we decided to just go down the drink menu and try as many as we could responsibly and immediately knew this would be a favorite when in the area. I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite drink and it would be just as tough to pick a favorite off their small bite menu. We decided to try a few of the specials, it's a relatively simple menu but everything is filled with flavors that are incredible - the char-grilled oysters are plumb, fresh and unique in every way, the fried black grouper bites were crispy served with a delicious remoulade and a spicy jalapeño chimichurri that will light up your tastebuds, we also tried the jerk chicken thighs skewers and amazing crab empanadas filled with a curry concoction like no others. The portions are large enough to share and really balance out the cocktails, this was a really nice experience and one I plan to repeat in the near future, with all the options in St. Augustine this one is at the very top of the list in my opinion and with parking at a premium in the area they have plenty, definitely worth a try...

The renovations are a massive improvement over the previous bar, and the atmosphere is genuinely lovely. The Good: The food is generally solid. The fish dip and salads are nice, and I've had the smash burger a few times--it's amazing. The fish sandwich I ordered was very bad and I couldn't get a member of staff's attention so left it uneaten. The Bad: Unfortunately, my most recent visit was entirely derailed by the service. We sat at the bar and the experience was frustrating. The female bartender (dark hair, glasses) repeatedly interrupted me while I was trying to order, and then got my drink wrong. When I tried to correct it, she literally walked away. My friend tried to order for me, but three bartenders were huddled together chatting and completely ignoring the patrons. We spent a lot that night, and leaving a fish sandwich I didn't enjoy (and couldn't send back due to lack of service) just added to the disappointment. I sincerely hope management addresses the bar staff's lack of attentiveness, because if this continues, this cute place won't last. I'd be happy to speak with the manager directly about this, as we are locals who want to keep coming back.

Service: Our waiter was attentive and timely without being overbearing. Food: Everything was amazing. We started with the bread service--the truffle butter was definitely the highlight (we didn't care too much for the ricotta spread). FYI: the little cubes that look like white cheddar are *not* cheese...I learned that the hard way by biting into a square of butter. For dinner, I had the cacio e pepe and he ordered the 100 lasagna. Portions were a bit smaller than expected, but honestly fine after filling up on bread. For dessert, we shared an affogato--the espresso wasn't burnt (which is surprisingly rare), so that was a big win. They were cooked perfectly and served in a flavorful sauce with peppers that tied everything together. The balance between the sweet and spicy was so good. For my entree, I ordered the lasagna, and it was pure comfort. It reminded me so much of the classic lasagna I grew up eating, layered with rich Bolognese and a creamy bechamel sauce that made it feel both nostalgic and elevated. My boyfriend went with the steak (I believe it's a New York strip) and swapped a few of the sides to his liking. The steak was absolutely cooked to perfection, a beautiful medium rare. I may or may not have stolen about four bites... and yes, it was worth it..... We were way too full for dessert, but we did enjoy a bottle of wine with dinner which made the whole experience feel like the perfect date night.
