Found this place last minute on Christmas Day so you can imagine the mission. I was able to get a reservation for my whole family. The food and service was phenomenal my family enjoyed it so much. This really made our Christmas trip very special. Pictured is the delicious dessert I had. Unfortunately I didn't manage to get a picture of my main course but I order the chicken and it was perfect.

I had the blackened shrimp Po Boy and my wife had the crab cakes, which were quite good, but I was a little disappointed with the Calamari. The service was fast and friendly. They have a fair selection of draft beers and they're good and cold, but a little bit pricey.

Enjoying happy hour at Santiago's Florida Kitchen at the Guy Harvey hotel. Happy hour in the bar runs from 4 to 7. Started with a couple of draft beers and their fried pickle appetizer (special price at happy hour). Came out nice and hot. Our waitress brought out regular and datil pepper sauce (the datil was yummy not too hot). The other appetizer specials look good (yep always fun to look at the plates of food as the staff walks past your table). Had planned on ordering a dinner but we must admit we had a couple of beers and after the appetizer just didn't have room for a big dinner. So I ordered a side salad and we split the chicken sandwich. Only negative the fries could have been hotter. Friendly staff. Good food. We arrived at 4 pm and when we left they had a nice crowd.

Santiago's was in the lobby of the hotel I stayed at, so I gave it a try! I found myself eating at Santiago's not for just the convenience, but because food was delicious! The first night we ordered the calamari. It was drenched in a sweet and savory sauce. I believe it's bang bang sauce and teriyaki sauce or sesame. Amazing taste! Breakfast is great because they give you a big portion which is a good way to start the day especially when you're traveling. I also tried the poke bowl which was yummy! Service was nice, overall friendly and helpful. Restaurant was clean, they have outdoor seating- a patio with lights and nice tables, which was very popular. I sat inside all times, my preference, and it was very pleasant. I recommend Santiago's!

Datil Fried Flounder Sandwich - looks good, but wasn't.

I really wanted to like this place, but IMO, The food was just not good. This restaurant is located in the lobby of the Guy Harvey resort. The restaurant is not very big, but it does have a full bar and a handful of local craft draft offerings. I ordered the Datil Fried Flounder Sandwich, which came with sides of fries and coleslaw. When it was delivered to the table it was a nice presentation, however that's where it ended. The bun was not the freshest. The two pieces of fried flounder looked huge, but it was mostly breading and air with two very thin pieces of fish. The fish also had an old grease flavor to it. The fries were of the frozen variety and were not very tasty and the coleslaw was awful, it had to be made a couple days prior as it was mushy and not at all flavorful, I couldn't eat it.

We based our visit on yelp reviews and pictures. Yelp has helped us more times than I can count to find good places. The lunch we had was good but the service seemed kinda slow. Since we are on vacation it wasn't a big deal, but still would have made the experience better not to sit so long My wife had the fish sandwich with a side of slaw and I had the Manolin sandwich. It was piled high with ham, pulled pork, and salami, with mustard and pickle and Swiss cheese. ( think Cuban sandwich). They have a dog friendly patio and an osprey has built a nest in the parking lot on top of a light pole. Don't forget to look up!

The inside is just as impressive with it's "oil and gas" theme, it's rather small but we were able to get seated without a wait even though it was nearly filled. The staff here was very inviting and attentive, the menu is also themed and fairly priced, we ordered "The Ford Galaxie" two eggs your way, a choice of meats, choice of toast or biscuits and home fries or grit - although the winner here in my opinion is the coffee it's delicious, strong and robust. Unfortunately everything here wasn't perfect the "West Creek Whipped Spread Butter Blend" is an abomination, it ruined everything we put it on, my bad for not asking for real butter after applying it to my toast, my grits and the English Muffin we ordered, it was inedible to the point we left everything on the plate this stuff touched it wasn't refrigerated as suggested on the label I'm guessing. I usually eat only real butter so what was I thinking - so my dilemma is how do I review this place fairly based on that stuff and the fact it ruined our food since we loved everything else. Well I guess they'll get three stars for now and I'll return and maybe bring my own butter because this place is a place you really want to love...

On a busy Friday night, we started at the bar for cocktails and were immediately welcomed by a friendly, upbeat bar staff. At prime dinner hour we put our name in for a table and, to our surprise, were seated on the outdoor patio with that spectacular beach view in about 15 minutes. Service was excellent throughout -- attentive without being intrusive -- and the food was terrific. Highlights for us: Fish spread -- outstanding and rivaled some of my longtime local favorites in both quality and flavor. Grilled buffalo wings -- cooked perfectly. Fried oysters -- excellent appetizer. (order two of the sauces) Cajun Fried Shrimp Po' Boy -- very tasty (my only small suggestion would be a little more remoulade sauce, it was nearly absent). Nashville Chicken Sandwich -- my wife loved it; spicy and delicious and not overcooked.. A fun surprise: this was the first day they had tables actually set up on the sand, which I think is a fantastic addition. It may make things a little tougher on the servers, but for beachgoers it's a wonderful option. The live music was very good -- this has always been a fun place to hear local musicians -- and the performers that evening did not disappoint. It was a touch loud for conversation on the patio and we were sitting quite aways away from the band, but many enjoy that energy. If you want a quieter meal, dining inside may be the better choice. A particularly nice touch was the manager stopping by our table to make sure everything was to our liking. That level of attention says a lot. The place feels professionally run. Prices are a little higher, but in my opinion the food quality is a step up from the old Palm Pavilion -- and frankly, what do you expect for a front-row seat on one of the nation's #1 beaches? Thank you, Crabby's Beachside -- we'll be back.

I love that they have a grab-and-go selection of meals, sandwiches, sides, and more within the restaurant. I ordered the Al Pastor Margarita and my server told me it was one of their most popular cocktails. After my first sip, I completely understood why. It's crafted with blanco tequila, lime and pineapple agave, Asado Orange Bitters (available for purchase), smoked salt rim, and a grilled pineapple garnish. For my entree, I went with the Asado Trio which includes picanha steak, house-made chorizo, and a signature-spiced chicken thigh. The steak and chorizo were both good, but I have to tell you - the chicken was the star of the show for me which I wasn't expecting. It was so moist and flavorful. Since I eat mostly chicken at home, it's never my first choice of protein when I'm dining out. That should tell you how wowed I was by Asado Life's chicken. The entree came with a house salad which was a very generous size. I really enjoyed their house vinaigrette and the toasted breadcrumbs. The potato salad side was a bit of a miss for me. I did not eat the peppers that came on it which certainly would have added some flavor. It was not bad but needed some seasoning and salt. In retrospect, I should have asked for some of the chimichurri used on the meat trio to add to it. Service was one of the highlights of the meal. My main server Stephanie was great and the servers worked well as a team. I had two different servers deliver my cocktail and then my salad, and everyone was genuinely friendly. We had made reservations ahead of time, and when we arrived, we were seated immediately. That set the tone right away, no waiting, no stress, just walking in and being welcomed like the day actually mattered, which of course it did to us. Our waiter, Elijah, was outstanding. He struck that perfect balance, attentive without hovering, always nearby when we needed something, but never interrupting the flow of our dinner. You can tell when someone takes real pride in their work, and that's exactly how he came across. It made a difference. For dinner, I ordered the Shrimp Salteado, and Cheryl had the Chicken Salteado. Both dishes were excellent, rich with flavor, perfectly cooked, and exactly what you want from the Columbia's Spanish-Cuban style. My shrimp was tender and well-seasoned, and Cheryl's chicken had that same depth of flavor that makes you slow down and really enjoy each bite. Nothing felt rushed, nothing felt off, just consistently great food from start to finish. What makes the experience even more meaningful is the history you're sitting inside. The Columbia isn't just another restaurant, it's part of Florida's story. It was founded in 1905 by Casimiro Hernandez Sr. in Ybor City and has grown into Florida's oldest continuously operated restaurant. Knowing that you're dining in a place with that kind of legacy, where generations of families have gathered for celebrations, adds something you can't really replicate anywhere else. As we sat there together, celebrating 31 years of marriage, it just felt right. The atmosphere, the service, the food, it all lined up with the moment. Everyone we encountered was attentive and genuinely kind, and that consistency is what turns a good dinner into a memorable one. For us, it wasn't just a meal. It was the kind of experience you hope for on an anniversary, one where you can relax, reflect, and just enjoy being together. And today, the Columbia delivered that perfectly.
