Yay! to Back 40 A1A. What a great dining experience. I took my college attending grandson for dinner here. I was able to give him an opportunity to experience delicious food (not chicken nuggets and fries) without breaking the bank. He chose the Teriyaki chicken bowl. It was a nice size portion for a growing young man. I had the Jamaican turkey. Super yummy! It sure brought on the heat. We were also pleasantly surprised to have a local musician playing while we ate. It just added the cherry on top to this cute Florida beachside restaurant. This was a fantastic gathering spot for friends and families!

Good food portions and variety of selections. Came in for lunch on a Friday and they had live music which was really nice. Plenty of seating for if you have kids or a dog (I have both!). My Santa Fe salad was good and they let me swap chicken for shrimp. Good lunch place if you're in the area!

Holy cow! Don't let its humble exterior fool you, this is place is worth the visit! My friend and I were coming off the final leg of a road trip. We were starving but not in the mood to dress up for a night out. Yelp steered us to Back 40 and it sounded like exactly what we needed. The location itself is small but not cramped. There were several tables available but we opted to sit at the bar. The two girls working were so friendly and inviting! There were several locals also eating around the bar and they were very friendly as well. The walls are covered in art by local artists (available for purchase). The vibe in here was great to us and that was before we even ordered food. Happy hour is from 3-6 so we took advantage of that for a couple of drinks. On the enthusiastic recommendation of the staff I got the Thai shrimp salad which I am still dreaming about. The house made dressing is to die for! Needless to say, we were highly impressed. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent food and super reasonable prices. Two people, two meals, two drinks, $42.

One of the coolest touches? A TV disguised as a piece of art that's actually a live stream of downtown St. Augustine. Such a fun, unique detail! Now let's talk food I ordered the shrimp and grits tacos, and WOW--they were packed with flavor. The grits added this unexpected crunch that worked so well with the shrimp. The textures blended perfectly and made every bite interesting. My husband went for the Miyagi beef tacos... and let's just say there were zero leftovers. He cleaned his plate, which says everything. Great vibes, creative food, and a memorable experience all around. Definitely a spot we'll be coming back to!

It got pretty busy while we were there, but impressively, they were running with just one server--and he absolutely held it down. Despite the crowd, he stayed attentive, friendly, and kept everything moving smoothly, which really stood out. The menu is where things get especially interesting--unique, playful, and definitely not your standard fare. I tried the chicken apple pie sandwich, which was as unexpected as it sounds. It was fun, different, and surprisingly good! It is one of those dishes you won't find just anywhere. Husband loved his upscale bologna sandwich and the waffle fries were yummy! Overall, Treylor Park delivers on atmosphere and creativity. It's a great spot if you're looking for something a little outside the box with a fun, energetic vibe and memorable food.

There is a small covered area but it's mostly high top seats for a few people. But this is a neighborhood spot feels like you're eating in your backyard. The line for ordering can get extremely long during popular dinning times such as lunch and dinner. So be prepared to wait in line and wait for your dishes. I promise it is worth the wait. I recommend ordering chips and queso they do bring that out quickly and you can much while you wait for your main dishes. The UFO is my favorite dish on the menu and I crave it all the time. It's a flour tortilla that covers a hard taco stuffed with a protein (I love that blackened Mahi) and you can get it spicy (Baja style) or mild (the works). Absolutely the best thing here! If you're grabbing to go, check their website. Sometimes it's not open, but normally you can order ahead and pay online. So when you arrive you can pick up at the pick up window. Love this new addition. You cannot go wrong with anything, everything is amazing and honestly top contender for best taco on St Aug!

Sunday night, 9pm, and somehow it takes a full 40 minutes to produce...two burritos. Yes, two. Burritos. Just in case that needs to sink in. But don't worry, it gets better. The woman ahead of me only waited 45 minutes before discovering her order had simply ceased to exist. Lost ticket, no food, and a friendly invitation to wait even longer. So really, my 40-minute wait felt like I hit the express lane. And the grand finale? The food finally arrives--after nearly an hour of anticipation--and it's...painfully average. Not bad enough to be memorable, not good enough to justify the wait. Just perfectly mediocre. So if your goal is to waste time and lower your expectations simultaneously, this is your spot. Otherwise, maybe keep driving.
