    Spinach dip

Came here for a rehearsal dinner ahead of my friends wedding. There was a decent amount of us (about 30) and service was still pretty good for the most part. They came around often to check if we needed anything and drinks and stuff came out pretty quickly. Drinks were alright, nothing to rave about, and same goes for food. Most of the appetizers we weren't big fans of. For example, the chips on the spinach dip were like soggy or stale. But we really liked the bang bang shrimp. The mussels didn't taste fresh. Nothing was terrible but besides the bang bang shrimp, nothing really blew our socks off. Just average. As for the main meals, everyone enjoyed their food but same thing it wasn't like outstanding. I will say though that the prices at this place are super amazing. It was like $30 for a 12 ounce ribeye which I feel like you never find anywhere. Most meals were in the $20-$30 range. Super affordable for what you're getting. Will I be back? Probably not, but it wasn't terrible.

I traveled to St Augustine ( very South Jax) yesterday for work. Carefully planned my day to have lunch at "Black Molly's. A friend of mine family is the owner and has always been in my list. But.. timing is everything. They relocated from the west side of state rd 312 to coastal side. The new place is big and beautiful. I was there way past lunch and way before dinner hoping to score a seat at the bar. They have Hapoy Hour everyday until 7pm. It was not my day so I sat at a 4 top all alone ne no chatter ni banter and ease dropping just me and my phone. Shawna greeted me with a great smile and welcome and quickly scurried to retrieve my beer order. They have a great lunch menu. I ordered the lunch Trout Almondine with pasta salad. The fish was delish but that Pasta salad .. so good.. I almost ordered another side. When I left around 2:45 the restaurant was still booming and not a seat at the bar. I will digress and save that adventure after tourist season. If you haven't been to Black Molly's on your St Aug excursions put them on your list. Ask for Shawna.. she has the best smile

Ugh, sad to write this. Fourth visit and everything was just okay. Datil chicken was tough to cut and dry. Sirloin steak had a good flavor but tough to chew. Stuffed mushrooms could of used a hint more of seasoning. Shrimp scampi was good. The crab cakes were moist and delicious. Service was alright. Waitress was nice but, we sat with empty drinks through most of dinner. Bread was promised as soon as we were seated, but didn't arrive until dinner and a reminder. After dinner was dropped, we saw waitress again only to bring bill. Now granted we were given her name and told to ask for her if we needed anything, but there wasn't anyone around to ask. Ambiance is hard to say. Fourth visit and I never make it pass the first aisle of tables (in front of bar). So my view is the bar wall separator on one side and a few wall paintings on the other. With food and service just mediocre, and not improving, we're not sure we'll make another attempt to go back.

Super! Colin was our server, he was extremely witty and helpful. Same for Laree that filled us in on the amount of shrimp in the shrimp and grit cakes. And yes, we ordered those and the red (drum) fish. Pear sangrias as our drinks that were delicious as they were not overly sweet. Food was awesome, the cakes firm, shrimps better than the ones at the Reef Restaurant in the same town but that restaurant has the better sauce and cakes. Red Drum, super flaky and fresh, beet and broccoli salads fresh, crunchy and tasty. Lastly, the restaurant has beautiful art hanging on the walls and I'll add a few in this review. 10/10, highly recommended.

We started with their delicious soft bread rolls & a house salad. The food was delicious! We tried the ribeye steak with mushroom Marsala. Delicious! The garlic mashed potatoes were perfection! They have a good kids menu, which made somebody happy. Yes! We recommend! The meal was reasonably priced and the food was so good! The view is a retention pond which was okay. Our little one scanned the pond for alligators during the meal but despite the warning sign about alligators and snakes, we didn't see any.

Crab cakes and buttered pasta. This dish was really good. Great flavor and the crab cakes were some of the best I have tasted.

Very good food, large portions, and reasonably priced. This was the first time eating here after reading all the positive reviews. It did not disappoint. The homemade blueberry cheesecake was a great way to top off a great experience here. Thank you Black Molly Grill!

Attend a rehearsal dinner here on Friday night. we sat in the back area, which was a partitioned off from the rest of the restaurant. After the first round of drinks, the service was efficient for a large party. We started with the mussels, shrimp snaps, spinach and artichoke dip and calamari. The mussels were my favorite of the apps. I had the Flamingo pasta for my entree which was tasty and a huge portion. Around the table, the opinions were mixed on the food.

Datil Chicken Sandwich (Blackened) with Goat Cheese and Datil Jelly...

It's the day after Christmas and it's a little after 1:00 PM and this beautiful restaurant is almost filled to capacity with customers and they just keep coming. Fortunately we were able to be seated without a wait and we were immediately greeted by Jess our wonderful and efficient server - after placing our drink order we looked over the menu and photos of the options on YELP. We decided on the calamari for our appetizer and I must say it was an excellent choice, so tender and crispy prepared lightly dusted and fried perfectly in fresh grease with a delicious marinara. I can't imagine returning here and not ordering this. After going back and forth we decided on the Datil Chicken Sandwich blackened by request, the extra seasoning paired well with the goat cheese and datil jelly condiments, otherwise I think if we had ordered it as stated on the menu it may have been a little on the sweet side, we opted for sweet potato fries which were just okay as were the regular fries we ordered with the O'Hickory Burger which was pretty amazing itself, this quailty burger arrived medium rare with a nice char on a great bun personally I would order this again with a slice of natural cheddar and skipped the lettuce, tomato and onion this burger can stand on its own. The service here is excellent and it seems the owner has staffed it well with talented servers and they definitely got the kitchen staff right as well, the food is delicious and of very good quality. This restaurant definitely deserves a bookmark it's no doubt a memorable experience I can't wait to return...

Why haven't we tried this place sooner? We were missing out on a spot super close to our favorite state park. They were busy on a Monday evening but we got excellent service from Lindy? The place is big with good ambiance even when crowded, it doesn't feel like it. We had the rib eye steak with garlic mashed and it was perfect. One of the best steaks I have had in a while! Going on my top choice list for sure. We also had the salmon (Oscar style) with jasmine rice and broccoli. Everything was cooked perfectly. We left with dessert chocolate cake (seemed maybe a bit old? but was still good, and the datil blueberry cheesecake was a unique flavorful well made cheesecake. Can't wait to come back!

Black Molly grill is an enjoyable place, and I'll likely be back. This first visit wasn't necessarily a five-star experience, but they do have a gray foundation to build upon. The location is in a truly nondescript area, providing little charm - they share a parking lot with a bank, and the exterior of the restaurant looks very bank-like. They do have a few tables outdoors, an area that overlooks a small lake, which I've included in the photos. The inside has tables near the bar, booths and tables around a well-sized dining room, and what appears to be a separate area that's available for events. The inside is modern and has nice artwork. Our server Caroline had an enthusiastic energy, and checked on us. Periodically - after sitting down we didn't get any of the bread that people talk about (that was fine with us), but perhaps if it's important to you on your visit, you should ask. The meal I had was the wahoo fish dish, Oscar style that came with crab and asparagus and two sides. This place is a true value, since the entree ends up being filling enough not to need a separate appetizer, though they do have quite a few appetizers. So the food is probably a 4.5 star quality, and the service about the same. For the prices that they charge it's quite a value overall. The two areas that hold back a five-star experience include their lack of reservation policy, which creates a bit of a log jam right at the front door. On our visit, we arrived at 4 p.m. for dinner, and there was already about a 10 minute wait. By the time we left, it was even longer. The other issue as people have mentioned is the sound which somehow reverberates off the walls and away it makes this a very loud restaurant. Overall, this is a decent spot with good food, service, pricing and plenty of parking. Just be careful with the time of day that you go, since there can be a wait at peak times.

Our second encounter was for dinner a couple of hours after our first encounter and even at 8:30PM there was still a wait. We actually ate outside at one of the booths where its first come first serve. This time we just had a couple of beers each along with our entrees. I had the Seafood Combo which was trigger fish & shrimp (blackened) with 2 sides (fresh greens beans & cole slaw). My wife had the Sunset Shrimp Pasta Bowl which had 9 pieces of shrimp in a cream based sauce which she said was fantastic! We also got a free t-shirt for our efforts! Woohoo! Blackened is apparently just burnt without flavor. The cream sauce didn't help. The collard greens I took one bite and that was it. Just nothing to it. The beans and rice was ok. Coconut shrimp was too sweet with the pina sauce. Just ok. Kids loved the kraft Mac and cheese. And the burger was very bland. Nice bun though. The key lime pie was sweet but the crust was good. Their service is quick and the food is served even quicker.

The inside is just as impressive with it's "oil and gas" theme, it's rather small but we were able to get seated without a wait even though it was nearly filled. The staff here was very inviting and attentive, the menu is also themed and fairly priced, we ordered "The Ford Galaxie" two eggs your way, a choice of meats, choice of toast or biscuits and home fries or grit - although the winner here in my opinion is the coffee it's delicious, strong and robust. Unfortunately everything here wasn't perfect the "West Creek Whipped Spread Butter Blend" is an abomination, it ruined everything we put it on, my bad for not asking for real butter after applying it to my toast, my grits and the English Muffin we ordered, it was inedible to the point we left everything on the plate this stuff touched it wasn't refrigerated as suggested on the label I'm guessing. I usually eat only real butter so what was I thinking - so my dilemma is how do I review this place fairly based on that stuff and the fact it ruined our food since we loved everything else. Well I guess they'll get three stars for now and I'll return and maybe bring my own butter because this place is a place you really want to love...

The venue is on A1A, right by St Augustine Beach. This was our first time there. They serve food but we had dinner beforehand, so we only had drinks. It's a nice little venue though. The show itself was awesome and Mick was so nice to meet afterwards! Why am I giving a 5 star review when we didn't even try their food? I'm at fortunate to know a few people that many would consider to be famous in the world of music. I have tagged along with them when they've done meet & greets at venues of various sizes from hundreds of fans to thousands of fans. Many, MANY venues handle these things very poorly. It ends up leaving fans feel as if the artist doesn't care about them when it's actual the venue that is unprepared and/or is treating the fans that dirt. That was absolutley NOT the case at Cafe Eleven. Every person we encountered from the staff seemed genuinely concerned with making sure the fans had a good experience. For us, this started a week prior when they took the time to email us to double check something about our order because our order was a bit odd. My wife paid for part of the order and our friends paid for the other half. The venue actually took the time to reach out to make sure we knew everything needed to match up. We did know that ahead of time but the fact that they even bothered was a touch I don't think I've ever heard of another venue taking the time to do. Well done Cafe Eleven! Based on that alone, I wouldn't think twice about driving down from Jacksonville next time there's an event at Cafe Eleven that I'm interested in.
