Great time here this past weekend. We were here with our five year old grandson and we all really enjoyed ourselves. As a vegan, I was grateful for some options. Our server Ashley made our experience here extra special! We came late Saturday afternoon for a birthday and she was great! She started us out with baked oysters and they were good, but it was too much bacon and cheese for me personally. It overwhelmed the oyster flavor, but if you're trying oysters for the first time or wanna please a picky group then these are good. My daughter got the stuffed flounder with corn casserole as we called it, as her side. It was delicious! Probably the best thing ordered! Tacos and kids grilled fish was great too! Definitely a solid amount of fish nuggets in the taco. The fries were some of the best ive ever had. For the seafood feast, we ordered scampi style and it was good, but it reminded me of a clam sauce style, not really buttery and garlicky. It was still good, but what disappointed me was the melted plastic bag served at the table. It was difficult to open, even our server had trouble opening. Idk why everyone loves serving food in plastic bags. It's sooo hot from the steam that plastic leaches into the food. I don't get the infatuation with this, unless you're ordering to go. The fans upstairs are a nice and necessary touch and not too hot up there, despite being summer in July. I would go back and order the stuffed flounder again! Definitely a five-star experience from beginning to end! This was our first time at Beachcomber, and I didn't realize that the cars queuing up were primarily there to pull their pickup trucks onto the beach - while I was waiting I was approached by the parking attendant who guided my wife and I directly to a convenient spot right near the front entrance - very much appreciated. Once we arrived, we were seated in a comfortable booth outside - the beach area can get hot, but this restaurant has good covering and plenty of fans blowing. The food itself is casual beach fare... Crab dip, shrimp and everything was just wonderful. Iced tea drinks were refilled frequently, and service was overall excellent. Pricing is very reasonable, and a good value for the area. My husband chose this place for lunch today and I am so glad he did because we have lived in the area for four years and I had no idea it was even here. It is on the beach at A street in St. Augustine Beach. Parking is tight so try to arrive when they open. We arrived at 11:15 and it was already pretty full. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit outside. Even though it was hot outside, the fans and the roof covering helped out a lot. The menu has plenty of appetizers, salads, tacos, handhelds and entrees. We decided to go with all appetizers. We started with the steamed peel and eat shrimp and it was delicious. Next we had the crab and spinach dip. Another good choice. Laid back, cool place located on the beach. Both indoor and outdoor seating, we chose to dine outdoors. The staff is friendly and our waitress was attentive and checked on us often. Our orders started with Minorcan Clam Chowder - chunky and just spicy enough and so delicious! The Sicilian Calamari was lightly breaded and tender. Loved the pop of pickled banana peppers mixed in with a parmesan topping. The mains of Chicken Tacos which was today's special , juicy and tender chicken, and vegetable medley was perfectly seasoned and tender, yet crisp. The Swordfish sandwich did not disappoint with the meaty texture and blackening seasoning. The Dill Potato Salad was solid in its pickly, savory flavor. So glad I found this gem! We enjoyed a lovely Lunch on the outside patio at Beachcomber today. We instantly got lucky and scored a FREE parking space and was told it was a 15 minute wait. It ended up only being 5-10 which was great. Sat down and ordered and the food was delivered quickly and hot!! My husband had the spicy minorcan clam Chowder and I had the Anastasia style grilled fish. Both were delicious. Our boys ordered off of the kids menu and were satisfied by the portions. went with friends to the Beachcomber on St Augustine Beach for the first time. The atmosphere's is cozy beach with its of outdoor tables and a smallish inside area decorated in typical beach style. Three of us had tacos (two had shrimp and I had fish) and all three were tasty and perfectly cooked. The tacos come with a side and two had potato salad and I had a nice, creamy coleslaw. The other person ordered a hamburger which he said was a good nice sized burger and he ordered a good chunky manhattan style clam chowder. Everyone's food was very good and we'd all return again if we wanted to eat on the beach. HOWEVER, please be aware that the parking lot is minuscule and they had a parking attendant to guide you into a tight parking space. and the parking spaces would have been almost impossible to exit if the attendant wasn't there to help guide you out. even then it was a hassle. this dropped my rating from 4 stars to 3. read more

Wow. A short line for an outside table at 330 pm on a Thursday so we figured we stumbled onto a good spot. My wife had the crab ravioli and although the portion looked small it was rich and very filling. I had the tuna app and we shared a crab cake app. All very good. Service was superb and never had to go looking for a server. And the best part... it's on the ocean but because of the dunes you don't really see it but it's great for a post meal walks. What a GEM find. Came upon Beachcomber driving A1A. Parking is crazy but you may luck out by the restaurant. Lots of 4x4 enter the beach here so you may have to drive around them. Food counch fritters were excellent. Buttermilk ceaser salad with shrimp is large and very good. Trigger fish sandwich special was also very good. Great full service bar. Wonderful view. Great service by Will! We had the clam chowder the Thai Cobb salad and the grouper fingers and all were excellent. We had the happy hour margaritas in Palomas and they were fabulous. Highly recommend this place. Don't doubt it when you drive up because it's excellent. read more

Our group was down for the Florida Georgia game and discovered this fun spot by the beach that is dog friendly! The food & service were excellent! I had the chowder which is tomato based with ample amount of seafood and very flavorful. The fish sandwich which 3 of our group had was Trigger fish and was cooked perfectly whether it was blackened or grilled. All other entrees were tasty! Our server was great, friendly while still being a great waitress. We.had the conch fritters and gator bites. I was sure the gator bites were going to be overcooked, but they were perfect served with a kind of duck sauce. The conch fritters were also good, served with a spicy datil remoulade. The Beachcomber is very, very casual restaurant adjacent to the sand dunes on Ave A St. in St Augustine, FL. A number of the picnic benches are set right on the sand. We sat outside on a wooden deck. The outside was renovated in February, but in the rustic side. I didn't check the inside, because 9/5/2025 was a perfect weather day and evening. The hostess was a delight, and we were seated in no time. Our waitress Hannah took our drink orders...a Tito's and Chardonnay. There were very reasonable at 4:45PM. We both ordered the Fish Sandwiches, which were delicious. We loved the Minorcan Chowder. It was very spicy, so it may not be a hit for everyone. If I could give zero stars. I would. Let's start with parking, there is none. The parking attendant waves a finger in a general direction of the smallest parking lot known to man kind. He never leaves his seat. He only waves a finger. Then, we go to the bar, the mixed drink was good but the beer on tap was not cold. We get seated and are tortured by gnats and flies. We get the appetizer and order the food and one more drink and are still fighting off gnats like our life depends on it. We decide to cancel our food order and just pay for the appetizer. Our waitress says it is almost ready they will box it up. We say okay, we pay, and 15 minutes later, still no food. We are still being ate alive by the gnats and flies so we dropped $86 with a tip and left without our food. We will never be back. We are local to st Aug, I loved this restaurant the first few times I've been here but this time was absolutely terrible. We ordered a pound of shrimp and it was uncooked. I ate a few and now I'm afraid I'm gonna get sick. Additionally, we sent them back and they cooked the ones we didn't eat which is kinda disrespectful because they should've given us a new pound since it was their mistake in the first place. It didn't even seem like a full pound anyways, we should've brought a damn scale. I understand they are busy but our server should've been more accommodating and nice to us rather than hyper-fixating on id-ing us twice after we had already gotten one round of drinks. Honestly, I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately did not. My husband and I come to St. Augustine every year for the holiday and decided to try something new. We had minimal people in front of us, but were told an hour. We decided to wait it out and head to the bar for a drink. We sat at the bar and my husband ordered a Coor's light and I ordered a Shirley temple. The bartender was super nice and friendly, but you can tell she was busy! I quickly slurped down my Shirley Temple and my husband sipped his beer. Not within 20 minutes did we receive a text that out table was ready. We closed out and headed to the hostess stand. By the time we did, we saw that the wait-list had definitely extended as many people were waiting. We sat down near the entrance and looked at the menus. It took well over 20 minutes for the waitress to even greet us, but we gave her the benefit of the doubt as she was busy. We finally ordered and since we had drinks at the bar decided to stick with water. We ordered the chips and guacamole reluctantly as it was $14. We thought this was a little steep, but had a taste for it so bit the bullet. Honestly, it wasn't anything special and we probably won't be ordering that again. We waited another 20 minutes for our waitress to return to take our order. Again, benefit of the doubt - we were fine but 20 minutes was awhile. I ordered the baha shrimp tacos and they were dry and gross. I was hungry but did not finish them. My husband ordered a burger and said it was eh, too. When finished with our food, we were just ready to take off. We literally did not see our waitress for quite some time. We asked that she just close us out ASAP so we could head back, but it took quite a while. Honestly, we probably won't be back but glad we tried it out to figure that out. read more

Truly a 4.5. everyone's food was good and they had a great and unique beer selection. I absolutely love being able to eat with my toes in the sand. It oozes beach vibe. The parking can be challenging, but, we had a gentleman help us navigate our Chevy Silverado. I suggest lunch time. My shrimp and grits were average. Not bad, just a little luke warm and could have used some heat, salt, and texture. It's hard to describe. But truly not bad. My husband absolutely loved his fish Reuben though!!! read more

One of the only few places open on St Augustine beach on New Year's Day and it did not disappoint! Fine dining cuisine with casual beach atmosphere and amazing friendly service. Every bit of our experience here was off the charts-if we lived in the area, we'd be here all the time. We had the fish of the day-triggerfish-both stuffed and fried, the fried shrimp, alligator, and crab cakes, all were very, very good. The coating on the fried fish and shrimp is well seasoned, things were crispy without being overcooked, and the remoulade that comes with the crab cakes...yum!! The drink menu is well done, and my drink was balanced and delicious. The manager was a delight, our server was friendly and personable, and the location is superb.
