we had a double birthday catered at our condo and our chef was excellent. Her food came out right on time. Everybody enjoyed the experience of a seafood boil. We had 20 people and would do it again in a second excellent experience.

Seafood Boils with shrimp, crab legs, potatoes, corn, onions and sausage
Helaine R.

We had a Labor Day Boil with the neighbors and it was sensational. We had shrimp and crab legs in our boil and both were so fresh and delicious. The spices and seasonings were some of the best I've had. The boils come with cooking directions so it was very easy. They even give you the pot to keep. We got great service from Scott and he was very communicative when changes had to be made. This is a carryout only so no seating available. Definitely check them out if you love seafood.

Ask the Community - Outer Banks Boil Company

Can I order thru grub hub or door dash?

At this time we're not set up with any food delivery services.

Do you get a pot to use or keep? Or do you "rent" the pot and bring it back?

Hi Art. Yes, you get a pot to use, and it's yours to keep. You don't rent it or return it. All of your ingredients come right in your pot, and you'll use that to cook your boil right on your stovetop.

Review Highlights - Outer Banks Boil Company

While the beach itself was wonderful, one of the absolute highlights of the trip was our seafood boil from Outer Banks Boil Company.

I went with the mushroom tacos, hold the sauce which did contain dairy. Our grandson devoured his grilled cheese crust and all. And my husband enjoyed his burger and fries. She started us out with baked oysters and they were good, but it was too much bacon and cheese for me personally. It overwhelmed the oyster flavor, but if you're trying oysters for the first time or wanna please a picky group then these are good. My daughter got the stuffed flounder with corn casserole as we called it, as her side. It was delicious! Probably the best thing ordered! Tacos and kids grilled fish was great too! Definitely a solid amount of fish nuggets in the taco. The fries were some of the best ive ever had. For the seafood feast, we ordered scampi style and it was good, but it reminded me of a clam sauce style, not really buttery and garlicky. It was still good, but what disappointed me was the melted plastic bag served at the table. It was difficult to open, even our server had trouble opening. Idk why everyone loves serving food in plastic bags. It's sooo hot from the steam that plastic leaches into the food. I don't get the infatuation with this, unless you're ordering to go. The fans upstairs are a nice and necessary touch and not too hot up there, despite being summer in July. I would go back and order the stuffed flounder again! Seriously, that was the best thing we ordered. Ashley was johnny on the spot too!

GOOD: Good size portions, reasonable prices, especially for cocktails. The same margarita would be $14 elsewhere. I had the "Wrap it up mango" tuna wrap with fried plaintains as my side. Plaintains were a big portion, so I took half home. The wrap was very tropical with fruit and sushi grade tuna. I ate it all, which was greedy of me, but I enjoyed it and felt overfull (my bad). Hubby had the clam and shrimp chowder and 2 apps. Very tender clams, thick texture and more shrimp flavor than clam, tasty for sure. Conch fritters good and in our top 5 (we get them everywhere and have been disappointed but now here). The wings were cooked perfectly, not heavy and crispy. The key lime flavor was good but too light. BAD: Service was a bit slow, but our waitress was super friendly and welcoming. The other servers seemed right on top of the other diners. 2 person tables are a bit too small if you order multiple appetizers. But nothing bad at all here.

We visited with a party of four on a Saturday evening and were quoted about an hour. Honestly, we didn't mind at all. We spent the time looking at the bayfront, enjoying the evening, and catching up on life while we waited. Parking, however, is another story. That's downtown St. Augustine these days--not Harry's fault--but be prepared. We ended up paying $25 to park and had about a 10-minute walk to the restaurant. Still worth it. We were seated outside at a spacious round table, which was perfect for conversation. The patio has a cozy garden feel with tiki torches, string lights, and beautiful landscaping. The only downside was that our table was tucked into a back corner where two walls met, so it didn't catch much of the evening breeze and got pretty warm. On the bright side, the tiki torches seemed to keep the bugs away because they weren't an issue at all. Our server, Samantha, was friendly and did a great job despite how busy the restaurant was. Water refills were a little slower than I'd normally like on a hot Florida evening, but with such a full restaurant, it was understandable and certainly wasn't enough to take away from an otherwise great experience. The only significant miss of the night was the live entertainment. We've visited many times when they've had musicians performing, and it's usually one of the things we enjoy most. Tonight's performer was a talented keyboard player, but unfortunately the vocals were consistently off pitch and the lyrics were difficult to understand. Familiar songs weren't recognizable until the chorus. Hopefully it was just an off night because our previous experiences with the live music have all been excellent. Now...the food. We never skip the Fried Green Tomatoes appetizer. Years ago we made a point of ordering fried green tomatoes everywhere we went while visiting Savannah, Georgia, and Harry's is still my favorite. The coating is perfectly crisp and actually stays attached to the tomato, while the creamy goat cheese and remoulade sauce bring everything together. Two of the slices were noticeably smaller than the others this visit, but we devoured them so quickly I didn't even think to take a picture! I ordered the Shrimp & Grits, and it was outstanding. If you're sensitive to spice like I am, don't let the Cajun flavors scare you away. It has just enough kick to add flavor without overpowering the dish. The creamy grits topped with freshly shaved Parmesan paired perfectly with the rich sauce. Do yourself a favor and ask for bread--you'll want every last drop of that sauce. My husband ordered the Seared Ahi Tuna, which has become his favorite thing on the menu. He orders it almost every time we visit, and it never disappoints. The other two in our party ordered one of the chicken pasta dishes and one of the shrimp pasta dishes. Both were flavorful without being spicy, making them great choices for anyone who prefers milder options. To drink, I had the Hurricane ($12.99), which was exactly what I was hoping for--fruity, refreshing, and perfect for a summer evening. My husband ordered a Tall Tito's & Tonic with a twist. He said it was good, but nothing particularly memorable. Harry's continues to be one of those restaurants we come back to year after year because it's consistently good. Between the atmosphere, the food, the location across from the bayfront, and the friendly service, it's easy to see why it's become a downtown St. Augustine favorite. We'll definitely be back.

The shrimp and grits was some of the best I've had in Historic St. Augustine! Not sure if the added sausage is necessary to make it such a memorable dish, but definitely added to the flavor. My wife and I both had the street Tacos, I had mahi, and she had steak, and we ordered the Calamari appetizer, The tacos came out first, so we indulged, they were small in size, but tasty, the portion of fish was minimal. The side that came with them was a handful of tortilla chips. Dry unsalted, and unaccompanied with any kind of salsa, or dip. Not even a slaw! Half way through the meal the server came by, and we told her to cancel the calamari, she apologized, and when we finished, the calamari arrived! There are a lot of food options in the area, I would not recommend this place, unless you need a "T " shirt!
