Should have thrown this up awhile ago but here goes: Food: Atmosphere: Cleanliness: Staff: So we had a full day of working on a project and we decided to treat ourselves (hubby and I) to a nice sit down no rush dinner... We ordered the burrata and tomatoes as an appetizer.... It was really good with the cherry tomatoes basil and glaze slightly warm and warm crunchy crostini breads... worked for us. We shared a plate: Mezza something (I forget the name) it was like little moons with stuffed cheese spinach - looked like raviolis but weren't... they were tasty and full of flavor, with creamy reddish sauce. We also shared a salad so it was a lot for us... We had drinks, I had wine and he had tea or soft drink if I'm correct. The restaurant's ambience was quite relaxing and not over crowded like some chain restaurants are l, which was a nice change of pace. The server could have been a bit more engaging but I attribute that to the laid back atmosphere of the evening, we were there around five pm on a Saturday so it probably gets busier as the evening moves along...for a chain restaurant it was not that bad.... All in all it was a good evening to relax after a hard days work.... And as always, as I say and advise "Try it for yourself, and you decide". Our server, Lexi was out of this world. She was attentive and one point she did not let our glasses get empty nor did she let her cheese bowl get empty either we all enjoyed our meal. We were there for my mother's 84th birthday. The atmosphere was really nice and the food came out quick, warm and delicious and oh by the way you can't forget about the bread with the herb and oil. I don't know if it's only Florida, or across the country, but going out to eat, here, is a wholly, depressing experience. We're talking chain restaurants that should have some standards, but the standards, here, are so LOW, obviously. I'm ashamed to imagine what people from first world countries think when they dine out, here. From the terrible service, to the lack of cooking skills, to the filthy, unkempt bathrooms, and sometimes, the restaurants themselves. The specifics... My husband & I don't get to eat out much, anymore, so when we do, we hope for the best experience. We did not get that here. We ordered 2 apps, I ordered a bowl of soup, my husband ordered the Caccio de Pepe pasta. Nobody asked us whether we wanted the soup served at the same time as the pasta, so first I got my soup, while my husband didn't have anything, and before the appetizers. Oh, I forgot--we made our own dipping sauce, got our own utensils, were never offered more bread. After awhile we received one appetizer, then after another while, the other appetizer, and my husband got his main course with the appetizers. Is any of this normal? I've had the chicken soup at Carrabba's before, and it was always loaded with chicken. Not this one. There were four shreds of chicken in a bowl of soup. It tasted good, but for the lack of chicken. The wings, which the waitress touted as being very good (with some superior adjective), were dry, overcooked, and just rather bland. My husband has had the Caccio di Pepe before and he said the ones he had here weren't as good. He said it seemed like they had no cheese, it seemed that they were merely injected with a bechamel. Meanwhile, they're supposed to be "overstuffed," with 3 different cheeses. The calamari was good. Thank god! I made the mistake of going to the bathroom. Mind you, we visited only late afternoon. I really can't believe how unkempt, broken and poorly outfitted the bathroom was. It was an embarrassment! The end. read more

If at first they DO succeed, try it again. After enjoying two wonderful entrées a month ago from the seasonal menu at Carrabba's Italian Grill on SR312, I returned to do it again. I ordered the special bone-in double pork chops, wood-grilled and prepared with their signature grill baste, olive oil and herbs, topped with maple brown butter. Sides were their new fontana and mushroom risotto and spinach sautéed with fresh garlic. The former has creamy risotto with a blend of fontina and mozzarella cheese with sautéed mushrooms. What a wonderful combination! I couldn't even finish half of the first thick pork chop. I had so much food that I gave the Mama Mandola's Sicilian Chicken Soup as a reward to my home health care aide. She said that it was very good. In addition to the huge remainder of my pork chops, I took advantage of their promotion and brought home the limited time Lemon Butter Pesto Branzino. The tender fish was wood-grilled and delicately seasoned with house made pesto and topped with sun-dried tomatoes, chives and lemon butter sauce. For my side, I picked penne pasta with pomodoro sauce. I will savor a weekend of delicious leftovers, starting with some of the flavorful fish and pasta for my dinner. The current Carrabba's promotion is that if you dine in, you can take home an entrée of equal or lesser value for $10. Some exclusions apply, increasing the take home price to $17 for the highest priced entrées. What a deal! What great food! The booths in the bar area were full. With my back issue, I was able to sit at a half booth in the main dining room. Samantha provided top notch service throughout. While there, I chatted with bartender Jason and owner, Matt Sylvester. Don't overlook our St. Augustine Carrabba's. It's sometimes surprising how good it is. read more

They need to hire more wait staff. I know people are hurting but we shouldn't have to wait with half the tables empty. A manager should be able to pick up 6. I've enjoyed this restaurant for years. The staff are great, atmosphere is great, and it stays consistently clean. I usually order the "Pasta Weesie" which is always delicious unless somebody is new on the grill. If this occurs they do not hesitate to make it better. This is one of my "go to places". Great Italian restaurant with lots of variety to include pork chops, Lasagna, Chicken Marsala, etc. The menu gives a lot to choose from . You will enjoy this place, I promise. read more

It tries to be a more upscale Olive Garden but fails pretty badly. Everything is high priced and the portions are just-so. Service is average but won't really go back so not sure how all the staff is. read more

We ordered a large catered meal for 13 people and what we revived could have fed 20 easily. Chicken Marsala, Meat Lasagne, Pasta with Red Sauce, salad and Cannoli. The pasta was slightly overcooked and I always have a hard time asking for pasta to be aldente, so I hope that it turns out well, and in this case, unfortunately, it did not, however, overall it was a good meal for a lot of people to second the next day. read more

We ate here with a large party on Tuesday night. No reservations but only waited about 15 minutes. The server was great considering everyone yelling over each other and getting distracted. I ordered the short ribs over mashed potatoes and they were fantastic. The entire table was jealous. This restaurant was super kid friendly as we had a gaggle of little ones with us. My children, my grandchildren and I went to lunch at Carrabba's in St Augustine today. I was the first one to arrive and was greeted immediately. I asked for table for five and I was led to the perfect table in the back. I was immediately brought a glass of water. Then the waiter, whose name is Jason, stopped at our table to ask how many there were in the party. He then asked for everyone's name - which I thought was a very nice touch. He was one of the best servers I've had in a very very long time. Very friendly, remembered our names, made some suggestions and was just overall 100% a great server. The food was very good. Will I go back? Yes! Will I ask for Jason? Yes, yes, yes! read more

We have always enjoyed Carrabba's. Before Covid, a special off-season menu, offered delicious meals at equally tempting prices; we were sorry to see that go. In the five years that we have been going, we have found that the quality of the food has dropped a tiny bit, And without the temptation of the special three course menu, we haven't visited as often. We decided to go to this restaurant last night. We have been here before and always have been very satisfied with everything. Last night we had a gift card so our decision was made easy for us. We sat at the bar and just relaxed. The drinks were good. The food better but the highlight of the night was our bartender Jacob. He made the whole evening fun. Very polite, great personality and very accommodating. He made it so we will be back again. Hopefully he will still be there. read more

I have to specify what I am a fan of, specifically, the spiedino de mare, that's it. That is my go to jam at Carrabbas. Yes the bread and oil is good. Yes the caesar with anchovies is good. Yes the wait service is warm, friendly and prompt (Thx Isabella ;). Yes the kitchen is working hard. If there is ever any room for dessert, the john cole is the unquestioned go to. Having said all this, I can also remember when the spiedino de mare used to be closer to $15, now it is pushing $21 which is getting a little rich for a chain dontcha think. Decided to drop in for a sit down lunch and endulge in some commercialized Italian food. When I pulled in the parking lot was empty and I questioned if the business was open still (probably the time of day). Walked in the door and was greeted by a young gal who walked me to my booth. Moments later I was greeted by my server "Kasey" who was very friendly and polite. I give her 5!! She took my order and gave some recommendations and personal favorites. I took the advice on the salad and dressing (creamy Parmesan) and I was impressed. Ordered the fettuccine Alfredo and again, I am impressed. Restaurant was quiet and cool but the major issue I have is the lack of cleanliness of all the vents on the ceiling (see pic). The tops of the window frames, lights above where you eat, and ceiling tiles are coated with dust and grease! Who is managing the cleanliness of these items? This needs to be addressed ASAP as I noticed dust clumps falling occasionally onto the floor and tables. Aside this important hygienic issue this place is a good place to dine (at least for me at this time). I will bring this up directly to the Manager "Matt" in hopes it will be cleaned read more

Fantastic dining experience. We went for my daughters 19th birthday dinner and we're thrilled with the food and service. Our server, Macy did a great job taking or orders and keeping us refilled on drinks. The salmon was delicious- cooked perfectly and the asparagus was properly tender. My wife's steak tasted great. We got chicken Parm dinner, and an appetizer sampler. I was able to substitute the four cheese sausage stuffed mushrooms for zucchini frittata. The salad was crisp and cold. I don't usually don't say anything when a restaurant serves bad dish. However, this Carbonara dish was horrible, sauce was watery and there were no flavor at all. The service tonight was slow even though the restaurant was not full. I would say maybe 6 tables were seated at the most. The place was half empty so one would think the service would be exemplary. I haven't been to a carbonara restaurant in years! On our way back from Orlando we stopped to grab some dinner. My husband called ahead to make a reservation for us. When we arrived we still had to wait 15 minutes before we could be seated. Our waiter Quintin, was friendly and even though he was extremely busy with his section came back to check on us. The fresh bread was the highlight for me as it was warm and soft and absolutely delicious. My daughter enjoyed the calamari off the combination appetizer platter. My husband said the stuffed mushrooms were cold in the center. The three of us ordered pasta dishes off the "fresh pasta" portion of the menu, which come with a choice of salad or soup. I ordered the lentil soup and the two of them ordered Caesar salads. I was excited to try the soup as I am a major fan of lentils but was disappointed that the flavor didn't pop. Which continued to be our overall feelings with our pasta dishes. To our surprised when we're leaving the hostesses we're more busy gossiping among themselves then to acknowledge us as we were leaving. There were four employees at the hostess's desk and not one looked up. I will say I was pleasantly surprised this morning when I eat my leftover carbonara for breakfast : ) that it tasted much better than it did when I ordered it. read more
