We ate here two mornings in a row because it was close to our hotel and we enjoyed it enough to come back! Just like Crabby's, "beachside" is in the name but it's more beachside adjacent, which is fine. We saw 2 local police officers and what we thought were other locals there, so we knew it must be good. The first morning hostess was very young and kinda had the Gen Z Stare about her, but she seated us just fine, if a bit unenthusiastically. Our server, who ended up taking care of us both mornings, was fantastic: very down to earth and personable. Oh and they have Coke Zero, my favorite! (Sometimes it's hard to find) I ordered the Breakfast Burrito with hash browns and my husband ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken with home fries. The description for my burrito says "eggs, cheese, sausage, and crushed avocado". But it was like 85% egg, 14% cheese and avocado, and maybe 1% sausage. I'm not even sure I would have known sausage was in it if the description had not said! It was good, but they could really stand to increase the sausage in the burrito. The hash browns were good, very crispy and simple. My husband loved his chicken and it also came with a huge serving of eggs, a biscuit, and home fries. He said those were a bit deceiving because they didn't seem like home fries - but they were still good. He really loved his breakfast and I enjoyed mine, but was a bit disappointed. The second morning's hostess was more friendly and we got the same server from the day before, who almost remembered our drink order! This time, I got the Surfer Omelette with grits and wheat toast and my husband got the Smokehouse with bacon and a biscuit. I loved this omelette more than the burrito although once again, it was a bit skimpy on the meat (this time, bacon instead of sausage) but it still had more than yesterday's burrito, which wouldn't have taken much. Still, I polished it off and was thoroughly pleased. My husband liked the Smokehouse but said yesterday's chicken was way better. His main disappointment was the biscuit - he could tell immediately that it was a leftover biscuit from yesterday. It was crumbly and cold, unlike the fresh warm biscuit from morning #1. So he and I had opposite experiences both days: he loved morning #1 but I loved morning #2. My husband and I decided to try something different for breakfast. It turned out to be a great decision. Beachside was recommended to us and while waiting for one of our cars to be serviced at a close by dealership, we had breakfast. We knew it had to be a good place as the line was FOREVER long to be seated. We decided to take seats at the bar which definitely cut down on the wait, at least for us. It only took about 5 minutes for our order to be taken after we were seated. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive to her tables/seats at the bar. She was quick to respond to every need and tried to make small take with each customer, as best she could. She was definitely earning her paycheck this Saturday morning. The food came out relatively quickly after the order was placed. Our came without mistake, which was surprising given the quantity of orders that morning. Now that the dealership has moved we will have to intentionally make the trip to "the island" but I know it will be well worth it. Busy classic diner on St Augustine Beach. We arrived around 10:45 and the diner was starting to get busier (we waited 15 minutes). They have juices, coffee, tea, bloody marys, prosecco and even spiked coffee. I ordered the spiked latte with kailua. For brunch I went with the avocado toast, which was really a piece of toast with sliced avocados and tomatoes with a side of pickled onions. Also ordered a side of cheesy hash brows, excellent!!! What a busy spot! Granted, we went on a holiday weekend, but I guarantee this place is like this all the time. It's a super cute spot right across from St. Augustine Beach. Parking is onsite, but kind of limited, so it's best to get there early if you're wanting to catch breakfast before going about a full day in town. We were told it would be about a 25 minute wait for a table for two. We only actually waited for about 10 minutes. They have indoor and outdoor seating, but since it was chilly, we chose to sit indoors. Our server was friendly and took our drink and food order within 5 minutes. My cappuccino was bitter, which was a disappointment, so I asked for a glass of water instead. My son ordered the Mickey Pancake with chocolate chips and I ordered a Classic Breakfast, which consisted of two eggs (your choice of style), your choice of bread, your choice of potatoes (home fries or hash browns), grits or salad. I went with over easy eggs, with white toast, hash browns and a side of bacon. The food took awhile to get to us: approximately 25 minutes. We tried it on New Year's Day and got a Sunrise Burger that includes a fried egg, a Reuben and a spicy chicken wrap with pickled Jalapeños. Our sides were French fries, chips and a Caesar salad. Everything was good -- especially the burger and spicy wrap. The side salad was small but made me want to try their Cobb and Caesar salads that are entrees. Sitting on the patio at Beachside on A1A is a pleasant brunch experience. First, start off with their spicy, veggie filled Bloody Mary's! I really enjoyed my breakfast at Beachside. I found it on a whim, while searching for places to get omelets in St. Augustine, then stumbled upon a picture of their chicken and waffles, which I knew I had to order. It was not disappointing!! First of all, just know that if you're sensitive to spice like I am, the spice is in a dry rub that they can bring on the side. Honestly, the chicken tastes great and really doesn't need it IMO. Also, it's boneless chicken, which I strongly prefer in my chicken and waffles. The waffle is nice a fluffy and it was all in all, just a fantastic dish, with a HUGE serving. I also had the latte, which was strong and delicious, along with a cup of fresh squeezed orange juice, which I loved. We went on a crowded Sunday morning and for a table of 2 waited about 30 minutes (we were quoted 45, so were happy with that). There's plenty of seating in a nice park outside where people waited. The service was helpful and efficient, but it's a fast-paced diner environment, so it was quite loud inside and the turnaround time between getting your menu, asking for your orders, and getting your food to your table is all pretty quick. Since I already knew what I wanted, it wasn't an issue for me, but you may want to plan ahead for that. Also, can't forget to mention the quirky elements and 1950's decor, which was really cool. This place is great! A large group of us stopped in on a Sunday morning for brunch. We were seated really quickly even though they were very busy. They turn over tables pretty fast. Loved the nostalgic decor! Food was excellent. Big portions, even the kids menu, and great prices. Everyone enjoyed their meals - from burritos to waffles/pancakes to the power bowl. I always go for the Benedicts and the shrimp/crab one did not disappoint. Great coffee as well! We also got the dátil Bloody Mary which was perfect too. Despite all the awesomeness, there were 2 items that resulted in me giving 4 stars: while our waitress was awesome, we were not asked about splitting the check. Don't know if maybe this place just doesn't do that for ease but I've never not had a server ask this with a large group. The other reason was the temperature on the inside.
