Scram eggs, breakfast potatoes, rye toast which they gave me half multigrain thinking I wouldn't know the difference and bacon

We LOVED our server! She was fantastic! I have GOT to start remember names so they can be recognized. I should know better considering I am a director in the Food and Beverage industry. Shame on me! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Diner themed restaurant was super cool with neon lights.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered rye toast but the oats on the crust was a dead give away that half of my toast was not rye bread lol. All good. The hash brown casserole was nasty and got my money back, it was like a queso(esq.) with peppers. Never known a had brown casserole to have peppers. Anyways....that manager is one hell of a damn worker, he helps his team, busses tables, and seats people. The hosts had a total RBF plus a total B our server was even excited to know that we asked for the manager to speak about how rude she was. She stuck out like a sore thumb because everyone of those team member were happy to be there, even on a crazy Saturday Morning.

Had an amazing breakfast here today. The service was very fast and the food came within 20 minutes and they were relatively busy. My husband has been here multiple times and said he's never had a bad meal. Would recommend

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Excellent casual 1950s diner style breakfast![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was friendly and they kept the hot coffee full. The country fried steak meal with eggs toast and hash brown...chefs kiss! The gravy on the steak tasted like old school country gravy...Enter nostalgia. The hashbrown casserole had a slight kick to it, mild spicy no need for any hot sauce which was a nice surprise very tasty. The beignets the table over ordered looked good will probably try those next time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Filled up by 9 am![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Came here just on a Sunday morning and we didn't have to wait no time at all with around 10 people! Service was super fast and the server was extremely friendly . Food was fresh and it came as we order it! The omelette with the potatoes was delicious! Super cute diner style breakfast spot !

    Yummy seafood crepes!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]We ate here two mornings on their outdoor patio while on our honeymoon, mainly because hubby likes breakfast all day offerings and I'm more of a bring on lunch girl.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Because I'm a planner with a picky eating hubby, I always study the menus of restaurants beforehand so there are less disappointments. This one was a winner and the main draw in for me was the seafood crepes and they did not disappoint! Hubby had the big breakfast. Day two I had the sunrise burger with hash browns and all the hubby wanted was pancakes. Definitely a winner!

Great service we had a table of thirteen and Max was our waitress who did a great job. She made sure everyone was taken care of. I had the Smokehouse Classic which was 2 Eggs, bacon, home fries and a bagel. Wife had the Neat Lovers omelette (4) eggs and split it with her sister. My over medium eggs were perfect not crazy about the home fries not what I expected. Otherwise everyone else's meals were excellent. My wife and sister both loved their omelette they split. The place has a great vibe love the atmosphere of the place. Will still give it 5 stars beside the potatoes

Decor is fun - gives it a great atmosphere! Service was friendly, excellent and knowledgeable! Hair of the Dog Bloody Mary was great. The mix was not too spicy and tasted great! The marinated bean had a serious kick to it, though. The Brunch Tower Bloody Mary was huge! Same flavorful mix but enough chicken and waffle to serve on a side plate and take leftovers home. Coffee was excellent and refilled as needed. The 2-2-2-2 was great! A side of hash browns were also fantastic!!

Surfer Omelette with grits and toast

We ate here two mornings in a row because it was close to our hotel and we enjoyed it enough to come back! Just like Crabby's, "beachside" is in the name but it's more beachside adjacent, which is fine. We saw 2 local police officers and what we thought were other locals there, so we knew it must be good. The first morning hostess was very young and kinda had the Gen Z Stare about her, but she seated us just fine, if a bit unenthusiastically. Our server, who ended up taking care of us both mornings, was fantastic: very down to earth and personable. Oh and they have Coke Zero, my favorite! (Sometimes it's hard to find) I ordered the Breakfast Burrito with hash browns and my husband ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken with home fries. The description for my burrito says "eggs, cheese, sausage, and crushed avocado". But it was like 85% egg, 14% cheese and avocado, and maybe 1% sausage. I'm not even sure I would have known sausage was in it if the description had not said! It was good, but they could really stand to increase the sausage in the burrito. The hash browns were good, very crispy and simple. My husband loved his chicken and it also came with a huge serving of eggs, a biscuit, and home fries. He said those were a bit deceiving because they didn't seem like home fries - but they were still good. He really loved his breakfast and I enjoyed mine, but was a bit disappointed. The second morning's hostess was more friendly and we got the same server from the day before, who almost remembered our drink order! This time, I got the Surfer Omelette with grits and wheat toast and my husband got the Smokehouse with bacon and a biscuit. I loved this omelette more than the burrito although once again, it was a bit skimpy on the meat (this time, bacon instead of sausage) but it still had more than yesterday's burrito, which wouldn't have taken much. Still, I polished it off and was thoroughly pleased. My husband liked the Smokehouse but said yesterday's chicken was way better. His main disappointment was the biscuit - he could tell immediately that it was a leftover biscuit from yesterday. It was crumbly and cold, unlike the fresh warm biscuit from morning #1. So he and I had opposite experiences both days: he loved morning #1 but I loved morning #2. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a cool place, with good service, food comes out fast and good, and they play classic rock or what I hear kids these days calling "Grandpa Rock"?[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Anyway, highly recommend this place if you're in St. Augustine!

Yummy love their biscuits and grits are delicious.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Beachside Diner was fantastic. It had a great feel from the moment you walked in the door[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]].. We split the shrimp and crabmeat crepes. They were AMAZING! We each had a hash browns casserole. The food was great. Our server, his name escapes me right now, sorry, he was there when we needed him, but he didn't hover. He seemed to know what we needed before we asked. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was a lot of fun.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This place kept busy, and the staff did not appear, at any time, overwhelmed.

My husband and I came in for a late breakfast on MLK and enjoyed a protein heavy breakfast. We got the protein combo that had eggs, bacon, and sausage. Very yummy. Service was very quick. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute diner setting by the beach.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They also have a military discount :)

Great diner! The food was good, and unique, but stuck to the good diner feel. The wait for a table wasn't bad even on a busy Sunday morning. The service was wonderful- kind people, helpful. A little slow but honestly the place was slammed. The coffee was also great and the Bloody Mary was excellent! Definitely a top notch diner.

The service showed a real lack of knowledge and attentiveness. When I ordered whole milk for my coffee, the response was essentially "is half and half okay?" -- no, it is absolutely not okay. These are completely different in taste and calories, and it's not a reasonable substitute to casually suggest. What made it worse: oat milk, almond milk, and whole milk were all visibly sitting in the fridge right there from where I was seated at the bar. Zero effort to offer what was clearly available. The atmosphere didn't help either. The space feels like someone started building a café concept and never finished thinking it through. It's uninviting, disorganized, and oddly off -- not warm, not designed with the customer in mind. Nothing about the food, the presentation, or the space gives you a reason to choose this place over anywhere else. Not particularly tasty, not nicely decorated, not a vibe. Not sure what keeps people coming back, honestly.

We stopped by for dinner on a Friday night, reservations were hard to get at standard dinner time, so we made a 4:30 p.m. reservation. When we arrived, the restaurant was less crowded - when we did leave about an hour later, it was much busier. The setting itself is plain inside - with such a beautiful outdoor setting, the inside looks more like a hospital cafeteria, with very bad acoustics. I don't know who designed the inside, but it's a very un-Floridian setting. The parking lot will also be interesting over time...when we arrived at 4:30 p.m., the lot was close to full, infringing upon the business next door, and by the time we left people were searching for spaces. This is definitely a place to make a reservation and arrive early. Our check-in process was a bit confusing, there's a check-in stand outside where nobody was hosting, and we assumed that was for the patio. We went inside where there's another check-in stand where we were told to go back outside to wait for the hostess so that she could check us in and bring us back inside. If you have to read that a few times, it's as confusing a process as it sounds. We were then seated at a table where we sat for 15 minutes (I started a timer after about 5 minutes) with no server, no drinks, just the two of us wondering at what point one of the many employees was going to pay attention to our table. After 15 minutes, we were approached by Rebecca who brought us drinks, and took our order. By that time, I was just hoping to get a decent meal and get out, since I really didn't expect much. Once dinner did arrive, the food was wonderful! I ordered a creative meal they have which is pulled pork barbecue and waffles, a creative play on Chicken and waffles (which they also offer). I have to give the chef a lot of credit - the meal was tasty and flavorful. Based upon the food, this restaurant would be a five star experience - regrettably with the service snafu and a very sterile environment, it's a four-star overall. Perhaps we'll return when the weather cools down a bit and we can enjoy the patio, as I don't look forward to returning to the dining room anytime soon.

The inside is just as impressive with it's "oil and gas" theme, it's rather small but we were able to get seated without a wait even though it was nearly filled. The staff here was very inviting and attentive, the menu is also themed and fairly priced, we ordered "The Ford Galaxie" two eggs your way, a choice of meats, choice of toast or biscuits and home fries or grit - although the winner here in my opinion is the coffee it's delicious, strong and robust. Unfortunately everything here wasn't perfect the "West Creek Whipped Spread Butter Blend" is an abomination, it ruined everything we put it on, my bad for not asking for real butter after applying it to my toast, my grits and the English Muffin we ordered, it was inedible to the point we left everything on the plate this stuff touched it wasn't refrigerated as suggested on the label I'm guessing. I usually eat only real butter so what was I thinking - so my dilemma is how do I review this place fairly based on that stuff and the fact it ruined our food since we loved everything else. Well I guess they'll get three stars for now and I'll return and maybe bring my own butter because this place is a place you really want to love...

The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

Antique, rustic, comfortable, and full of enough character that you almost feel like you've stepped 200 years back in time. Then the drinks arrive, and suddenly you realize you've been transported into the future of cocktails. I wish I could remember the name of the drink I ordered because it was spectacular. Whiskey, a little sweetness, mint, and crushed ice. That's about all I can tell you. What I can tell you is that I could have happily consumed about 30 of them, tumbled down the stairs, and been perfectly happy about the whole experience. My wife went with the Mojito, and it was brilliantly constructed. The crushed ice and layered mint made it look almost too good to drink. Almost. The drinks absolutely deserve five stars. Then came the blue crab beignets, and they were spectacular. That's the kind of appetizer that makes you stop talking for a minute because everyone at the table is too busy enjoying what's happening. Unfortunately, the rest of the food didn't quite live up to the cocktails. The fish dip was very average and lacked much flavor, and the menu itself felt pretty limited. So here's the deal: if you're coming to The Ice Plant for drinks, I would have no problem giving it five stars. The cocktails are that good. This is a highly recommended stop for a drink in St. Augustine. But I have to review the entire experience, and the limited menu and average fish dip bring the overall experience down a notch. Four stars. Come for the drinks. Stay for the atmosphere. Definitely order the blue crab beignets. And if you happen to find yourself three cocktails deep, admiring the antique decor while contemplating the stairs, maybe just take your time.
