We were in town for a long weekend for a concert and stayed at the Embassy Suites down the street. I was on Instagram and this place popped up on my feed - decided to give it a try! Glad we did! We ended up walking there and it was easy to get to. When we walked inside, we were able to get a table inside right away. It was clean and cutely decorated. Our server came by quickly and got our drink and food order in. I ordered the breakfast tacos (comes with 2 good sized tacos) - sooooooooo good! They hit the spot! For our visit this time they said about a 30 minute wait which was actually 20 minutes. The vibe of the place is very cool with the old jukebox and a bar as well as tables both inside and outside. We were seated outside this visit which was fine as it was shady. I had the corned beef has with hash browns and 2 sunny side eggs. The corned beef is full of shredded corned beef with just a small amount of potatoes. The hash browns with onions were nice and crispy as I asked and the eggs were cooked nicely with the right amount of run when broken. My wife has the Classic Breakfast which is somewhat similar to what I had but with no meat. Hers was done nicely too. I'm having a hard time seeing how this diner has a 4.5 star rating. The good: within walking distance from our hotel, we were seated quickly, and the biscuit was the star of my meal. The bad: the food was ice cold, there doesn't seem to be air conditioning in the restaurant, and if you ask for scrambled eggs - you'll be served with egg beaters versus fresh eggs. Great service we had a table of thirteen and Max was our waitress who did a great job. She made sure everyone was taken care of. I had the Smokehouse Classic which was 2 Eggs, bacon, home fries and a bagel. Wife had the Neat Lovers omelette (4) eggs and split it with her sister. We ate here two mornings on their outdoor patio while on our honeymoon, mainly because hubby likes breakfast all day offerings and I'm more of a bring on lunch girl. Because I'm a planner with a picky eating hubby, I always study the menus of restaurants beforehand so there are less disappointments. We ate here two mornings in a row because it was close to our hotel and we enjoyed it enough to come back! Just like Crabby's, "beachside" is in the name but it's more beachside adjacent, which is fine. We saw 2 local police officers and what we thought were other locals there, so we knew it must be good. The first morning hostess was very young and kinda had the Gen Z Stare about her, but she seated us just fine, if a bit unenthusiastically. Our server, who ended up taking care of us both mornings, was fantastic: very down to earth and personable. Oh and they have Coke Zero, my favorite! (Sometimes it's hard to find) I ordered the Breakfast Burrito with hash browns and my husband ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken with home fries. The description for my burrito says "eggs, cheese, sausage, and crushed avocado". But it was like 85% egg, 14% cheese and avocado, and maybe 1% sausage. I'm not even sure I would have known sausage was in it if the description had not said! It was good, but they could really stand to increase the sausage in the burrito. The hash browns were good, very crispy and simple. My husband loved his chicken and it also came with a huge serving of eggs, a biscuit, and home fries. He said those were a bit deceiving because they didn't seem like home fries - but they were still good. He really loved his breakfast and I enjoyed mine, but was a bit disappointed. The second morning's hostess was more friendly and we got the same server from the day before, who almost remembered our drink order! This time, I got the Surfer Omelette with grits and wheat toast and my husband got the Smokehouse with bacon and a biscuit. I loved this omelette more than the burrito although once again, it was a bit skimpy on the meat (this time, bacon instead of sausage) but it still had more than yesterday's burrito, which wouldn't have taken much. Still, I polished it off and was thoroughly pleased. My husband liked the Smokehouse but said yesterday's chicken was way better. His main disappointment was the biscuit - he could tell immediately that it was a leftover biscuit from yesterday. It was crumbly and cold, unlike the fresh warm biscuit from morning #1. So he and I had opposite experiences both days: he loved morning #1 but I loved morning #2. It's a cool place, with good service, food comes out fast and good, and they play classic rock or what I hear kids these days calling "Grandpa Rock"? Anyway, highly recommend this place if you're in St. Augustine! read more

We tried it on New Year's Day and got a Sunrise Burger that includes a fried egg, a Reuben and a spicy chicken wrap with pickled Jalapeños. Our sides were French fries, chips and a Caesar salad. Everything was good -- especially the burger and spicy wrap. The side salad was small but made me want to try their Cobb and Caesar salads that are entrees. My husband and I decided to try something different for breakfast. It turned out to be a great decision. Beachside was recommended to us and while waiting for one of our cars to be serviced at a close by dealership, we had breakfast. We knew it had to be a good place as the line was FOREVER long to be seated. We decided to take seats at the bar which definitely cut down on the wait, at least for us. It only took about 5 minutes for our order to be taken after we were seated. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive to her tables/seats at the bar. She was quick to respond to every need and tried to make small take with each customer, as best she could. She was definitely earning her paycheck this Saturday morning. The food came out relatively quickly after the order was placed. Our came without mistake, which was surprising given the quantity of orders that morning. Now that the dealership has moved we will have to intentionally make the trip to "the island" but I know it will be well worth it. Busy classic diner on St Augustine Beach. We arrived around 10:45 and the diner was starting to get busier (we waited 15 minutes). They have juices, coffee, tea, bloody marys, prosecco and even spiked coffee. I ordered the spiked latte with kailua. For brunch I went with the avocado toast, which was really a piece of toast with sliced avocados and tomatoes with a side of pickled onions. Also ordered a side of cheesy hash brows, excellent!!! What a busy spot! Granted, we went on a holiday weekend, but I guarantee this place is like this all the time. It's a super cute spot right across from St. Augustine Beach. Parking is onsite, but kind of limited, so it's best to get there early if you're wanting to catch breakfast before going about a full day in town. We were told it would be about a 25 minute wait for a table for two. We only actually waited for about 10 minutes. They have indoor and outdoor seating, but since it was chilly, we chose to sit indoors. Our server was friendly and took our drink and food order within 5 minutes. My cappuccino was bitter, which was a disappointment, so I asked for a glass of water instead. My son ordered the Mickey Pancake with chocolate chips and I ordered a Classic Breakfast, which consisted of two eggs (your choice of style), your choice of bread, your choice of potatoes (home fries or hash browns), grits or salad. I went with over easy eggs, with white toast, hash browns and a side of bacon. The food took awhile to get to us: approximately 25 minutes. I was about to ask if we had been forgotten, when the food arrived. It was all cooked to perfection and tasted great. I would return, but probably on a lesser busier day of the week. read more

What a great breakfast spot. The cute and squeaky clean interior is reminiscent of a fifties diner. On this beautiful morning we opted for dining on the patio facing the A1a. We got there at opening and were promptly seated by the cordial seater. Our waitress Jackie got there promptly to take our order.
