I was looking for a place to enjoy dinner with a friend where we could catch up. We went to Mulligan's Pub that is located by the Publix in Sawgrass Village. It was a great choice! Friendly attentive staff, clean restaurant, not loud until the live music started. Music was great, didn't get the name of band it was a group of 3 that were really good, some songs were a tad too loud, but overall great. Had the pretzel bites with beer cheese. Nothing spectacular, but they were good. The menu you had a good selection of dishes we decided to go with the classic fish and chips. There were two size options. One or Two pieces of fish, we opted for the small that came with one. It was the perfect size! The server brought my food out. It looked and smelled amazing. It came with coleslaw, french fries, and tarter sauce (delicious tarter) that was plated nicely. It was hot and fresh, the french fries were perfect. The fish was crisp, cooked great, a little bland but nothing a little salt couldn't fix, coleslaw was traditional and fresh. They also have a nice bar area that I look forward to trying out. We were out running errands on a Saturday and decided to stop here for lunch. I am very grateful we did. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, but we sat inside because it was a little cool. My mother in law tends to be a little critical of food at times, but said it was the best fish and chips she has had in Florida. I opted for the reuben sandwich, and it was also very good. My husband had the beach burger, and also said it was very good. The sandwiches came with either homemade chips, fries, or Cole slaw. The place was not very crowded, so our service was good. I had dinner here upon arrival at the hotel (located in the Hilton Garden Inn Jacksonville Ponte Vedra Sawgrass) after a 6+ hour drive with my wife and daughter. Pubs are always a friendly, warm and cozy environment to me, and this place definitely hit the spot at the end of a long day. First off, our server was great. She sat us down and made sure we were comfortable; she also loved interacting with our toddler, going as far as playing with her by taking the check from her and giving it back at the end of the meal. This was definitely appreciated on many different levels. I ordered the Panko crusted grouper for my entree. It was cooked well and had a great crunch to it. The bed of cheesy risotto was the star of the dish, adding a great balance to the seasoning of the fish and accompanying vegetables. My daughter had the fish bites with fruit from the kids menu. Like my fish, it was cooked well and had a great crunch, but I admit it may have had a touch more seasoning than I would expect from a kids menu item ... however, she didn't seem to mind and enjoyed every bite taken. Overall, we would definitely eat here again and take in the relaxing and inviting atmosphere this pub has to offer. read more

I would have given 0 if it was an option! We had a party of 16, we showed up at various times, not in a hurry and understood we were a larger group to a basically empty restaurant. Now I understand why it wasn't busy at 7:30 on a Friday night. After 20 min of standing around, a few went to the bar to get drinks and were rudely told by the waitress it would be much quicker if we stayed at the table. We apologized and went back. The bartender Anthony came over and we started to order drinks. My 68 yr old mother hesitated and he rudely said I need you people to hurry up and was frantically gesturing with his hands. He then proceeded to scold each of us if we weren't ready to order as quickly as he would like, actually saying "we are trying to accommodate you people but you aren't being cooperative". After each one of us were basically yelled at, he left and we all looked at each other stunned. I have never been treated like this at a bar/restaurant! We decided to cancel our order and left. Alice and Pete's at the Marriott across the street were more than happy to accommodate us and the service, atmosphere and food were outstanding! read more

Quite possibly the worst restaurant experience in my 53 years on this planet. We tried to eat outside and had to move inside. Only 2 other customers (seemed like regulars known to the staff), both chain smoking in an area with 4 "no smoking" signs with an off-leash dog we will call "Butthole Layla" which is what this loser kept yelling at her everytime she walked away. I like dogs but don't need one under my table trying to lick my feet. He was on the phone yelling about "f'ing retards" for so long we finally moved inside. After 25 min without even getting our drinks, we finally left. Our waitress seemed nice but she was clearly the only person there. I couldn't even get my own drink at the bar which was unattended our entire time inside. We live a mile away and I wouldn't return here if the food was free. I do hope the waitress finds a better establishment to work at. read more

First time visit. Big place. Has its own parking lot so no worries there. In a great area & neighborhood located within a small shopping center area. This would be a great place to watch a game. There are a lot of TVs located inside and even outside on the patio area. There are 2 separated outside patio areas, large inside area and a good sized square shaped bar. We sat outside on the patio area. There are tables and a couple cute wicker outside cozy chairs with small tables with them. Greenery was planted that is high enough on the road side for some privacy. We started off with pretzel nuggets and beef cheese. The sauce was good it wasn't overly cheesy but I think we could have gotten a few more nuggets would have been nice. We had sauce left over which normally it's the other way around. I ordered the house salad with grilled grouper and balsamic vinaigrette dressing. There were little too many croutons I could fill the dressing cup with after I ate some, but kinda disappointed with the lack of flavor for the grouper. It was bland. My husband got the Guinness beef stew. Again underwhelming. The beef was actually dry and had no flavor. My cousin had the grilled chicken taco salad and did enjoy that. What helped our experience was Frank Assaro was there singing and playing the keyboard. He plays a variety of genres and music and takes on the spot requests. I'm staying at the Hilton Garden Inn attached to the pub. The app states in room dining (room service) is available and link goes to Mulligan's. So I called down, phone answered by Chris/Kris, to ask the process to order. The response was the most rude feedback I've received traveling all year. I explained why I was calling, asked the process and was met with "EXCUSE ME, No! You can place a pick up order." Surprised, but hungry, I said I'd just come done, to which I was answered "Um, alright. Sure." Click! I have a team of 7 staying in the building. We will be here for a while and with work hours, mulligan's would've been an easy option. This made sure we'll take our business elsewhere. Being shorthanded in service isn't an excuse. This wasn't just rude. It was disrespectful. Not going to blow up management with requests for this to be corrected, just a heads up on my experience. read more

It's located just under the Hilton hotel, and super convenient for all guest staying.. they have authentic Irish dishes and beers but also have other things to choose from for individuals craving something more American. You can sit yourself at the bar and order what you like. The bar is surrounded by 6 T.V.'s playing any sport game you're into. Today was Sunday football and you couldn't ask for another game to be played because they were all showing. The bartender had a good groove going here at the bar. She was attentive to all the bar guest and other who asked for a specific game to be played. I had the Ruben Burger and ordered it medium rare; which was executed to perfection! They do a blended patty here (short rib, brisket, ground beef) topped with cheese and smothered in sauce while keeping it traditional on rye bread. This is served with French fries. I had the pleasure of visiting Mulligans Pub for the first time on Saint Patrick's Day. Of course it was packed, but the service was still good! I had a blond beer which was actually colored green for the occasion. Pretty tasty. My friends and I shared three appetizers. Pretzel with beer cheese, house wings and Philly cheese steak sliders. The pretzel was tender with just enough crispness and the beer cheese was creamy and delicious! The wings were fried perfectly and the seasoning was tasty. The Philly cheesesteak sliders were a little dry, but dipped in the beer cheese made it tasty. On my second visit I ordered the reuben spring rolls. I'd never seen a reuben served this way but I loved it! My friend shared his loaded nachos with me. The nachos were surprisingly yummy. They actually used the the beer cheese on the nachos. And the beef really added a flavor punch! Service was great both visits. My second visit we hit up happy hour. The prices were just right! read more

This restaurant is located inside the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel where we were staying. I went there on Saturday looking for the prime rib special I'd seen online. Unfortunately that special no longer exists. So the waiter recommended the ribeye steak. So i ordered that with bacon mac n cheese, garlic potatoes, and broccoli. He even offered the price that the special was as a courtesy. How nice!!! The mac n cheese is something you absolutely must try. Very cheesy , buttery, and delicious... Also the garlic potatoes were great. I wasn't a fan at all of the steak though. It was burnt and hard to chew. So i just tossed that and enjoyed my sides. The staff there was nice and friendly. The restaurant was clean and there were mostly people at the bar. A nice place to have a drink or a quick meal. They also have Starbucks coffee. I wouldn't recommend that though. The frappe i got tasted strange and it seperated into a weird mess by the time i left. So if you crave Starbucks then go to actual Starbucks. Lol. I'm just saying. Some things can't be replicated. But all in all they have reasonable prices and are open late. I'd return but not to get a steak. 3.5 stars read more

I cannot believe that I have not taken the time to write a great review for Mulligans, because this place is awesome. I've been coming pretty regularly for the past three years. Michael and Gabby the bartenders are incredible. I love this bar, because it reminds me of the neighborhood pub in New York, where people know you! A mini Cheers per se, I guess everyone knows my name at Mulligans They recently renovated the place, so everything is new and clean. They have the best happy hour in Ponte Vedra Beach and a killer burger. They are enormous, juicy and and they offer multiple toppings as well. I think I've literally tried everything on their menu. I can recommend the half order of fish and chips, if you are starving go for the full order but believe me, it's gigantic! I also like the boom boom shrimp and the prime rib! Always cooked perfectly. Went to mulligans again last night. The food was very good. Started off with a black and tan. If you've never had one, got to try one. One thing I saw that was NOT on the appetizer list was the scotch egg. I asked and erica our waitress said the manager took it off the menu. This is advertised as a irish pub. A scotch egg is a staple. A bit disappointed. I had the shepard's pie and it was very good. Lots of cheese, potatoes, meat and veggies. The gravy to tie it all together was good. Friend had the fish and chips. It lived up to a good meal. We had to ask for the malt vinegar. That should have been brought out at the start when my friend ordered the fish and chips. We went on St Patrick's Day for corned beef and cabbage, part of their regular menu. First let's address the cocktails. I ordered a wine, he a beer. My 3-4 ounce pour came in a 16-20 ounce plastic cup. His the same. For reference, we were inside. When we asked for a wine glass, the waitress (a lovely girl from Iowa) said they are fading glass out for these huge plastic cups). to me, that's a no longer going back...I like my wine in a real glass unless I'm outside. Also, not very friendly to our environment . The corned beef and cabbage was awful. You would think that if something was part of your 5 entree menu you would be good at it. This is a pretty simple dish. Can pretty much wait all day. The corned beef was tough, could barely cut it, with a huge fat rim. The cabbage was very undercooked, about 10 minutes away from raw. The potatoes were good. I have to say, with all the wonderful restaurants we have in Ponte Vedra Beach, I would avoid this like the plague. read more

This place needs to find a way to hire & hold onto their help. We came here back in January & had the same server as this time, I think he's the only "veteran" there. He was totally frazzled when we arrived on a Saturday night. There was no hostess & before we could say we'd like to eat outdoors he immediately tells us they're short staffed & he'll do the best he can. I felt sorry for the guy. We weren't in any hurry as there was a football game that was just starting that we were there to watch. The waiter was kind enough to put the tv near our table on our game. He took our drink order & those came out pretty quick but the food was pretty slow. Like I said we were ok with that because of the game but normally I wouldn't have been happy with it. The food itself is ok, typical bar food. Prices are a little high but you're in Ponte Vedra. After experiencing the same service twice in a 7 month span I don't think I'll be returning. read more

The Balsamic Glaze was a nice touch, although I would have liked it to impart more flavor. Overall a good shareable dish. Beer cheese pretzel - Better than expected. Pleasantly strong garlic taste blended well with the warm roux. The pretzel was okay; the cheese sauce is the best part of this dish. Highly recommend. Reuben spring rolls - I have not tasted many Reuben sandwiches to compare these too. The savory meat flavor paired well with the sweet mustard. Worth trying if curious.
