Absolutely love the warm and inviting ambiance at Town Hall. Starting with the decor and enhanced by the staff. We came in for dinner with a party of 4 and were sat at bar top. Right away our server greeted us and answered all our questions about the menu. I was having trouble deciding on a Sauvignon Blanc and he brought me some samples to choose from. We started with the Pepper Crusted Ahit Tuna and Sweet Pea Hummus. Both delectable, but the Ahi Tuna was the clear winner. So fresh and melted like butter in your mouth. For my entree I went with the Seared Scallops. I went with the larger order of and I'm glad because the they were not as large as we thought. They were good, but I was expecting them to be not as chewy as they were. We ended a brownie that had popcorn on it. We really wanted the cheesecake, but they were out. The brownie was good just the popcorn may throw you off if texture is important to you. It was warm and gooey yummy. Overall a wonderful spot to visit and they also have patio seating. read more

The overall restaurant looked clean and great for a date night. We weren't feeling too hungry so we ordered the following based on the waitress and our friend's recommendations: 1) Crispy Brussels sprouts 2) Duck Fat Corn Bread 3) House made pasta + sugo The crispy brussels sprouts were a bit undercooked and lacked flavor but if you prefer a less crispy Brussel sprout dish I would recommend it over the duck fat corn bread. The duck fat corn bread was disappointing. It was an odd combination of flavors that did not mix very well. The corn bread was mushy and the crisp Napa cabbage with the random ranch/spicy sauce combo did not pair well and left my mouth feeling confused. I had high expectations for their house made pasta as they had a pasta maker out for viewing. The pasta was overcooked and every bite was an interesting mix of flavors...some bites salty...some bites unseasoned. There was barely any meat present and overall we ended up not finishing our meal and wrapping up the night. Beautiful restaurant with amazing service. I made reservations and arrived on time. We were seated right away towards the kitchen area. Tables are pretty close together so plan on hearing and being heard. There was a wine tasting for $20 so we chose to participate. We tried 4 wines and were properly informed by staff. For food I chose the mussels for my appetizer. It was completely different than any mussels I've ordered before as they were de shelled and placed on top of toast with the Diavolo sauce on top, still good though. Celebrated a birthday dinner here with my wife on a Friday night. The place was packed! I ordered the half roasted chicken which came with potatoes and green beans. It was delicious! I also tried a bite of my wife's shrimp fettuccine; it was just okay for me, though she really enjoyed it. For dessert, we shared the Limoncello Blueberry Cheesecake which was a great finish to the meal. The service was excellent, friendly and attentive throughout. The food is always 10/10 at town hall! Came here to celebrate my sister's birthday and had to wait awhile before someone came to take order, but the waitress was super knowledgeable and so helpful. The space is nice but a bit loud, felt like we had to talk really loud just to hear each other. The drinks are amazing (we got red wine, lemon drop martini and ghost flowers) and food was delicious (got the steak, mushroom, Brussels sprouts and octopus). The best I've ever had, it had balsamic and blue cheese on it, It also was supposed to have crispy bacon, but we opted to omit that! The crab cakes were good, and if you're not real hungry, this is a good option, but with the Brussel sprouts I was good. We thought the omelet with a salad was odd! We should have gotten potatoes. Town Hall is a restaurant led by a chef who has been nominated 2 times for a James Beard award, but on my visit, the best part of the restaurant was the service. It's possible it was an off day, but I had high expectations that were not met. Our server lauded the brussel sprouts as the best in Jacksonville, but, while there was a large portion, they were tangy with blue cheese and an odd flavor combination. We also had the seared octopus. It was not chewy (a plus), but it was bland and served with an unseasoned red tomato sauce that tasted like crushed tomatoes straight from the can. The duck fat cornbread was the only saving grace for our dinner that evening. The cornbread had a cake- like texture, although I prefer more crunchy cornbread, at least it had flavor. The coleslaw served with it was also very tasty. We chose the special for the night, a fondue with chorizo with crostini. The fondue was thin and runny. The restaurant has a modern feel and elegant ambience, I would return to sit in the bar area for a drink, but the restaurant left much to be desired, and I would not return to dine. read more

We visited Town Hall for brunch for the first time and were absolutely impressed. From the food and drinks to the service, everything exceeded our expectations. We sat at the bar, where Patrick took great care of us. Every recommendation he made was spot-on, and the drinks he crafted were outstanding. The Cuban sandwich was one of the best I've ever had, and the bananas foster bread pudding was absolutely incredible. Needless to say, we'll be back this Sunday! The restaurant was a little on the warm side but it is very hot outside. We each got a different entree so a good spread. The biscuits and gravy were good. This chef owned, sister restaurant to Priti was a pleasant light supper experience to cap off the night after another event in downtown Jax. It made me nostalgic for old restaurants like Cafe St. Michel, a French restaurant in San Marco back in the '80's. Great wine list! Try the Sweet Cheeks and the Anne Amie. Skip church, either disregard your original plans, or invite your family, but you must try this place. It may be THE best brunch in the area. Our waitress was fantastic. Polite, great service, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu and all that was on it. It was our first time and she had excellent recommendations. The interior has great wood and brick accents and combines them both to create a casual but classy atmosphere. We ordered three appetizers and split them between us. The Bananas Foster Bread pudding came out first. It was as our waitress called it "adult sweet" and it was perfect. Warm, soft moist, hearty, just the perfect amount of sweetness to it. We next tried the loaded truffle fries and crispy Brussels sprouts. Genius use of balsamic with both. The fries were the right amount of crispy, great cheesy taste. Excellent. The Brussels were cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside but retaining the delicious taste. Great use of cheese on this one as well. So, ended here by accident & glad I stayed. Started off a bit rocky due to hostess. I booked my Rez on Open Table and when I tried to. Help in she stated she didn't see my name and I'd have to wait. The restaurant was busy but we were able to get a table, and our waiter, Michael, was friendly and very attentive. I ordered the filet medium rare which was cooked closer to medium/medium well, but still tender. The cut of filet was nice, but I did not like the sauce it was presented in. I can't believe I haven't been here before. It's located conveniently in San Marco. We went on a Sunday afternoon so there was adequate free street parking. I liked the cosy, charming, elegantly casual ambience. I could hear music from the late 70's-80's in the background which was great while enjoying the food with pleasant company. We called ahead on Sunday morning for reservations instead of using Open Table since we were unsure if we could reserve a standard table on the app. We loved the sleek and cozy back dining area with the open kitchen. Our server, Alex P., was fantastic, providing wonderful suggestions as it was our first time here. She was also super attentive and made sure our table still water was refilled throughout our meal. We wanted to try a few starters and decided on three to share instead of main entrees. The Sunday-only brunch Bananas Foster Bread Pudding was amazing. It was not overwhelmingly sweet, crispy on the outside and soft & moist on the inside. Loved that it didn't need a cream sauce and that the banana flavor was really subtle. We also ordered the crispy Brussels sprouts and loaded fries. We enjoy Brussels everywhere we find them and this preparation did not disappoint. We were a few minutes before happy hour closed. I ordered the bacon cornbread with a Napa cabbage, bacon, shallots, candied peanuts, spicy ranch, pepper jelly and cilantro. The salad made that cornbread! Dining partner had pimiento cheese with pepper jelly and crostini. Both were exceptional. Dining partner had the seared salmon (that was perfectly rare for him) Brussel sprouts, and potatoes. I had a wonderful made in house pasta sugo with homemade ricotta, a nice sauce and herbs. We were in the area to attend a Yelp Elite event at Millie's Ice Cream, so my wonderful husband was nice enough to make a dinner reservation at this restaurant before our ice cream dessert at Millie's. It was our first time dining here but I have a feeling it will not be our last. The restaurant has indoor, outdoor and bar seating. The bar seating is located in the initial room you walk into as you enter the restaurant, and it is a beautiful room with plenty to enjoy. The dining area with regular tables is in a different room further into the restauarnt. It had a very nice vibe to it with some great seventies music playing. The menu is small but good. They have several appetizers and entrees, as well as a few desserts. I opted for the seared scallops. They came with a delicious pureed celery root and braised leeks. The whole entree was very tasty.
