We have always loved Mezza. Its a nice ambiance for an upscale dining experience at beaches. We had the best server, Georgia, who took such good care of our group of 6 friends. The food is consistently good, with hot food served hot and cold food cold. Parking is limited so just use the friendly valet folks!

I have been coming to this restaurant for maybe 20 years to celebrate special occasions, and just to bring friends, but I have not been in the last year. For me their best thing on the menu is the Lasagna It seems to have a marinara sauce spread over the top it finish it has been marinating all day.It is filled with a few types of cheeses and you cannot stop eating it until it's all gone. Their wood-fired pizzas are also a favorite of mine. Our waiter Noah was friendly and attentive. The ambience is warm with light music playing in the background. They do have live music in the lounge Monday through Thursday.A most for those looking for an extensive Italian menu to pick from.

We had a wonderful dinner at Mezza Luna! The food was absolutely delicious -- I ordered the steak, which was slightly overcooked, but I didn't send it back because it was still full of flavor and paired beautifully with the sides. My husband had the duck and really enjoyed it; cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. We started with the burrata appetizer, and it was so good we completely forgot to take pictures -- we devoured every bite! We also shared a bottle of wine and ended the night with the cheesecake crème brûlée, which was the perfect sweet finish. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We were seated within 5 minutes even without a reservation, and chose to sit outside. The breeze kept us cool, and the music from inside added a nice ambiance to the whole evening. Highly recommend for a relaxed and flavorful night out!

What a beautiful restaurant! The ambience really makes this place. The live music was really great and not so loud that you couldn't talk. Our food was exceptional and the portions were fair for the price. The short rib pasta dish (Fresh Pappardelle) was outstanding. The lasagna was a big hit too, and we loved the risotto that was served with the scallops. Definitely recommend the Brussels sprout appetizer. The server we had in the bar for our after dinner drinks was excellent. Our dinner server was efficient and everything was accurate but after learning the pasta special was out when we were ordering, I had asked if another entree could be made without spinach. She said she didn't think so but didn't offer up other suggestions. So I ended up quickly going with my third choice meal so everyone else didn't have to wait. It ended up being delicious so I wasn't disappointed. It would have been helpful to know what they were out of sooner or what could be modified for allergies. We did appreciate her ability to split up our checks.

I was never able to try Mezza Luna when living in Jax but gave it a shot when I returned to visit and I'm so glad I did! We were a large party without a reservation but the host managed to get us seated after just a couple minutes. The place was very cute with dimmed lights. Our server got to us right away and came back with drinks not long after as well. For appetizers, we went for the Mussels, polpette and some truffle fries. Mussels could have used some salt but aside from that, everything tasted great with lots of seasoning. For the entree, I did the fetuccini Alfredo with Shrimp. What I loved about this dish was the unique flavor the peppers gave it. Shrimp was cooked to perfection and went really well with the red pepper Alfredo sauce. We were too full to even order dessert even though I wish I did. I must point out, this place is really into detail and has little sections on the menu that point out to vegan/vegetarian and even no garlic options so there is something for everyone. Will be returning on my next visit to Jax!

Wonderful girls night out. The restaurant was hot on the patio but the food was amazing. The staff was lovely and the food was excellent. We had a wonderful time and everything we ordered was yummy.

Delicious dinner at Mezza Luna to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. We started with the beef tartare, mussels, and truffle fries. All of which were delicious, but choose the mussels if you can only have one. For my entree, I had the Pan Seared Diver Scallops which were served over a corn and Parmesan risotto, which I loved. My boyfriend had the Spinach Raditore, which wasn't his favorite but may have been because he asked for no cheese on the dish when it comes with it. Dinner at Mezza never disappoints.

Whoa!! Was the food good? Yes.. was it timed and staged absolutely NOT! We were seated at 5:30 given water and 10 minutes later our server reappeared. We ordered drinks, appetizer, salad and entree. They were out of a ghost pepper tequila and so I reordered. Drinks came, salad came appetizer came and while eating the appetizer our entree came. What the hell? $180.00 tab and we were out by 6:27! That's all. Picture of the entree only because it sat the longest on our table waiting for us to finish our mussel appetizer. Certainly will not make my rotation!

Stopped by for a drink and quick bite with my friend at the bar. The Cacio e Pepe was as good as I remembered. This was my first time getting an espresso martini here and I'm impressed! Not super watered down, used actual espresso/coffee instead of just coffee liqueur.

My first time at Mezza and did not disappoint. Love this place. The chicken Alfredo and the short ribs plates were both yummy. The fried calamari is the best in Jax. My old fashion was also perfect. The service was great. I love that we were able to chat freely because the music was at a perfect level.

Been here 2 times and plan to return. Great for a date night or special occasion. They gave us a card & dessert for our anniversary which was so sweet. Food is incredible & they give table bread as an appetizer which is the best!

Husband and I went for a date night. The front room was super busy but they put us in the formal dining room in front of the fireplace. It was perfect. Anita was our server and she was fantastic! I ordered the fettuccine w/shrimp and she suggested having the shrimp blackened. It was perfect. Husband had New York Strip and he enjoyed it. Will definitely be back again. Good and service were great!

Quay was our personal server and I think he was our bartender too- although there was another person back and forth behind the bar. We added a little chaos to the mix with a handful of family who showed without rsvp-ing. Add in toddlers plus easily 15 people.... Yeah- mad respect for Quay!!! I admit to being sad that I couldn't get my broiled platter- that is my favorite Fish Camp dish, and apparently not available for lunch. I pivoted and got the steam pot for 2. For myself. And guess what- I ate all the crab, hmmm so happy! Laugh- it was hilarious, I was still cracking crab while everyone sung happy birthday! I was thrilled. I brought home most of the potatoes, corn and such- it even had mushrooms and broccoli! YUM! My old fashioned was also perfection in a glass. John had the shrimp and fish basket and loved every bite. Several raved about the shrimp and grits. Caron loved her mahi mahi. Connor got the Spicy Wild Caught Shrimp Linguine with White Wine, Garlic, Tomato, Pecorino and inhaled it! Even the kiddos were super happy with the kids chicken strips, although the kitchen delivered the first plate to the wrong toddler and the lovely parents didn't question how they got food without ordering and that little girl dug right in. Opposite end of the table- this grandma spoke up and we split the food so all the littles were fed. Considering our chaotic group, it went very well. I didn't hear a single complaint from our party. Hopefully we didn't drive the staff too crazy!

I used to absolutely love this place. It was our go-to for seafood, celebrations, family dinners,…read moreand special occasions for years. We recommended it constantly and genuinely enjoyed supporting them. Unfortunately, after our last few experiences, that loyalty is completely gone. The problems really started during a dinner visit with my spouse. We had a reservation for two and specifically requested a booth because my spouse has herniated discs and booths are much easier on her back. The hostess with glasses told us there were "no booths available for parties of two," so we were seated at a tiny two-top directly in front of an empty booth. Minutes later, another couple - who apparently didn't even have the correct downstairs reservation because Wheel House was closed for a private event - was seated in that exact booth instead. When I politely questioned it, I was told they were "accommodating them." Interesting, because apparently accommodating a medical issue for customers with a reservation didn't matter. Still, we decided to give the restaurant another chance for Mother's Day. To their credit, we were seated at a booth this time after I both noted it in the reservation and called ahead to confirm it. Our waiter was someone we immediately recognized from a previous visit, and my parents mentioned he had waited on us before at that same table. Somehow, from that comment alone, he became convinced we were related to Chef Tim Tillus. From there, things got bizarre. He kept talking about "Timmy," mentioning reunions and saying he used to live with him. The restaurant was extremely loud, and my father had forgotten his hearing aids that day, so honestly we could barely understand what he was talking about. We just smiled politely and focused on asking about the menu because we truly had no clue where the conversation was going. Eventually, he came back and realized we were NOT Chef Tim Tillus' family. He then explained that the kitchen staff had apparently been laughing because the chef saw us and said, "That's not my family." So somehow this became a whole ordeal in the kitchen over a completely innocent misunderstanding. We laughed awkwardly because what else do you do at that point? But honestly, the whole interaction felt strange and unprofessional. Unfortunately, the food was even worse than the awkward service. My spouse ordered the all-day seafood soup, and somehow there was basically ZERO seafood in it. That alone was shocking because their soups used to be incredible. My father ordered the broiled platter, and the portion size was honestly embarrassing for a $29 dish. His parsley potatoes consisted of literally five tiny cubes - my mother counted them because we were in disbelief. We have eaten here for years and NEVER saw portions this small. I ordered the fish special, and it was nothing like described. It was supposed to have pecans and blackening seasoning. There were no pecans, no blackening seasoning, and the fish itself was dry, bland, overcooked, and flavorless. For $32, I was served what looked like a tiny sad pile of fish in the middle of a giant empty plate. The pork chop looked beautiful but tasted absolutely awful. At this point I honestly don't know if the kitchen quality has completely collapsed or if nobody is checking food before it leaves the line anymore. Either way, it was terrible. My mother ordered scallops on the half shell as her meal - something she has enjoyed there many times before. This time, the scallops were tiny and somehow greasy. It was shocking these dishes were even leaving the kitchen. What makes this so disappointing is that we truly loved this restaurant. We weren't casual customers. We supported this place for years because we believed the food and experience were worth it. This wasn't just a mediocre meal or an "off night." This was a genuinely terrible dining experience from start to finish, made worse by the fact that it happened on Mother's Day. The service felt awkward and disorganized, the portions were insulting, the food quality was awful, and there seemed to be zero quality control happening anywhere. At this point, our money will be supporting other establishments instead. It's honestly sad because this place USED to be special. I sincerely hope management fixes the kitchen, consistency, and overall professionalism before even more longtime customers walk away.
