I really enjoyed this spot!! I came with some friends for drinks and dinner before going out and it was perfect. We sat outside and it was a nice ambiance, sometimes they have live music out there I'm told so we'll have to go back when they do. We started off with drinks and I got the martini with the cucumber, it was super fresh! We also got the spinach and artichoke dip, which was super yummy. Although it may not look too extravagant from the outside this spot has a lot more than meets the eye. Nice spot on the edge of beautiful Neptune beach community. It's not right on the beach however, it's within easy walking distance to everything. Has parking so you don't have to valet. Awesome shopping nearby. The drinks and cuisine are over the top fantastic. Taste bud bliss. Staff top notch and attentive. I felt noticed here and treated like they really wanted you here as a customer. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Can't recommend this spot enough. Can get pricy 150-200$ for a dinner with drinks for two. In my mind worth every penny. On arrival my friends were easily assisted and provided a spot outside upon request for four of us for brunch. Server, Michelle, made sure all could be set up quickly- balloons and cake. She was exceptional. Quick service, very thorough, super friendly- but not just that, very personable. Answered all our questions and made great suggestions. Appetizers were Buffalo cauliflower (not on brunch menu) and spinach dip. Both were wonderful- great flavor and portion size was large. Meals; Two Short Rib Benedict's- Large serving, we each ate half. Good amount of meat on 2 pieces of seasoned toast with eggs and a side of home fries. Two salads- one goat cheese and one fig. One plain and one with shrimp. Super tasty. Started off with a bottle of champagne for mimosas. When time for our cake, Michelle was quick to action and bring plates and utensils. She felt like part of the celebration over just being our server. Really haven't had this level of service or genuine personality at any restaurant before- not even for upscale nights out. The Local was, without a doubt, our favorite happy hour spot until yesterday. Goodbye $11 poke nachos and $9 hot honey chicken. The hh pricing is now only $2 off apps, which makes the nachos $16 and the chicken $12 during hh (I get it, inflation, I'll get over it). The good news (so we thought)? They kept Jameson on for $5 and Tully for $3. So I had a Jameson and soda water and my husband had a Tully and Sprite. To our dismay, we were charged $10 for each drink!?! When we asked them to adjust the charges to the hh prices we were told that the menu says "Jameson Shot" and "Tully Shot" and does not include a mixer Will we be shot gunning beers as our chaser? Maybe we can play a mean game of flip cup after each shot. Am I in London right now, where I need to ration my glass bottle of diet coke over the next two measured pours? After being shut down for 3 days last week as a result of failing a health inspection, nickeling and diming your customers is just not the best business decision. The manager did reiterate, as a "one time exception," he will so graciously honor the $3 and $5 pricing and not charge us for the soda water and the Sprite. But just this ONE TIME. Such a great way to show that you really appreciate and value the locals. For the record, the staff is always friendly and the food is good, but they missed the mark yesterday. read more

It was a rainy Saturday with few patrons so maybe everyone was ready to call it a day, but we have two serves and still couldn't manage to get much attention. I haven't eaten here before and today was my first time in. It's a chill vibe during lunch time. Our bartender was a sweetheart! I wanted an espresso martini and boy did they deliver. We had the espresso martini and the chai martini. Their espressotini is fantastic! Definitely one of the best in town. It was my favorite of the two. I may come back soon for brunch. Our party had reservations for a Saturday evening.  Two of our party had eaten here for brunch and loved it, so we all came back for dinner. The dinner menu is American fare, smart and includes salads, steaks, salmon, chicken, fish, pasta and burgers. This location was a Woody's BBQ restaurant for years, and the new owners have done a fabulous job in transforming the building into a modern restaurant.  There is indoor seating (albeit very loud due to acoustics), with a full bar on the inside, and a full bar on the outside patio seating area.  We preferred the outside as the volume was low enough outside to carry on a conversation. We ordered the filet, shrimp and grits, honey toum chicken, with sides of creamed spinach and brown butter mashed potatoes.  Salads were wedge, Caesar and Goatavocado salad (goat cheese and avocado). The salads were excellent.  Shrimp and grits were very good (but rich). Filets were cooked to order, tender, but could have used more seasoning.  We had a side of sour dough bread (fabulous).  Our main complaint was that the filets and their sides obviously had been sitting out too long before they were brought out to our table and were almost cold.  Not good!  Our server was a delight, but service was slow. This restaurant is a great addition to much needed restaurant variety in our Ponte Vedra Beach area.  We will be back. read more

I love the Local at the beach. I really appreciate the atmosphere and have to say Michelle is the best!!! I miss Michael who was there for a bit but things change. But Michelle rocks! I will say there is always an issue with me getting my vegetarian food ( they offer a vegetarian menu) with no meat and no onions. Every time I order there is meat and or onions. It is not the servers but the kitchen staff. More attention to detail would be appreciated. So be sure to ask for the vegetarian menu if you want that and be very specific about your menu choices. They offer inside seating and outdoor seating with TVs for watching the games. The parking lot is very small but you can use the parking app for places nearby. Definitely worth a try when in the area. read more

The first thing you'll note is that it's very expensive for the kind of food and ambiance. Not saying the quality's bad, It's just not worth the price. The service staff works very hard and they're very polished including the bartenders. But the Local should really look at who their audience is And price their menu accordingly. They do have different menus for different times of the day and seasons. It did take a while to get more drinks but our waitress was very kind and working hard outside by herself. My favorite brunch spot! Their craft cocktails are great, and they often update the menu with new ones. My only complaint is that I get a favorite, and then it's gone! (Like the Blueberry Basil Lemonade) But then I can usually find a new one. (Jade dragon!) Their benedicts are delicious. I usually get the steak or Korean rib ones. Their menu has so many good items that I often have a hard time choosing. Everything is very fresh, and looks as good as it tastes. I also enjoy their outdoor seating on the patio. read more

Hubbie and I went to celebrate Valentine's Day last night. They are running specials all weekend. Filet with Oscar and asparagus. Amazing meal, the filet was rare and the Oscar was like a crab cake, it worked. The asparagus was crisp and tasty. I hate it when restaurants over cook the vegetable. I want to start off by saying the service was great! Our waitress was super kind but the food lacked big time. I ordered the Caesar salad with chicken. I requested for my chicken to be fried instead of blackened and it was super chewy and tough. It also didn't taste seasoned. The salad dressing was also a bit off for me, as It tasted quite bland and not like your 'typical' Caesar dressing. (But they do have really good ranch so maybe it was just an off day.) Maybe call ahead to book a table on busy nights. We tried almost the whole cocktail menu and all the drinks were refreshing, interesting and styled beautifully. Both of us walked in thinking it would be an entree type of night but ended up ordering 3 of the starters and sharing. The food was SO GOOD! All 3 starters we tried are the type of thing that could taste awful if not fresh and Meowza! They were absolutely fabulous!!! The whipped butter with the bread service was so light and paired perfectly with the fluffy bread!!! The Hummus plate! Omg I will probably pop in there just to get the hummus plate! YUM! The Ahi Tuna Nachos were also fabulous but definitely the type of app you need to eat quickly so the wonton chips don't get soggy. Overall, great experience, delicious food, LOVED the cocktails. Waitress was very good, she did all the right things- I couldn't decide on a drink so she gave me some samplers and recommendations. The hot honey chicken bites came out fast and were fabulous- real chicken breast bites- tasted great. The coleslaw was also tasty. Tried the vegan sweet potato noodle bowl, waitress split the meal without me having to ask. Noodle bowl was tasty, great flavours. Only feedback would be the marinated cucumber was a tad too salty but the noodles were super on point flavour wise. Tofu was nice too. Atmosphere was upbeat. Would definitely recommend and will be back to try more. In and out in probably 35 min but don't feel rushed. Waitress had bill ready to go the minute we decided on no dessert. Tried out for the first time, was not impressed and will not be back. Why? Brunch menu, ordered the Eggs Benedict - was sliced ham, like lunch meat... meh, only a thin slice. The food was not hot (more on that later). Also ordered the beer battered fish sandwich with fries. Didn't care for the taste of the fish, tasted slimy to me,, the tartar sauce on the sandwich was not homemade (and at $18.50 it should be homemade not from a food service and if they claim this is homemade then they need a redo). Fish sandwich was not hot either. Service, it was not terrible but not good either. There wasn't a lot of people.. just a few in the restaurant as we came around 2pm. Our food sat under the heat lamp, we saw it - waitress was no where around and we watched other waitresses and waiters hustling and bustling - running food, clearing tables, refilling, checking on tables. Tiffany, our waitress, was not around. We probably had a good 10 mins of the food sitting, we were hoping it wasn't ours but it was. Our waitress did get extra tartar sauce (didn't know it would taste yucky) and did eventually check on us. We did wait for the check as she was busy rolling silverware and not attentive (we were within eye sight to see we were just sitting and waiting on the check). Service could be better - not terrible, but not great. For hot non-alcoholic drinks, only regular coffee. Honorable mentions - nice ambience, has a kid's menu, their menu also stated they have vegetarian and vegan options. No gluten free. Would prefer mostly any other restaurant in the area , again won't be back. Regret we didn't go to North Beach Fish Camp - which is always a solid choice. read more
