My toddler & I frequent this location! Everyone is very friendly & every dish we've tried so far was pretty good. We always get the beef pho & try something else. The beef rice was delicious. The chicken noodle variation was a bit too salty- maybe too much chicken bouillon? It was still good but needed something bland like white rice to balance it- easy fix! read more

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The prices are quite high, but the portions are extremely small, which made it feel like it wasn't worth the money at all. We ordered a beef short rib rice plate($19), and it was basically just a single small piece cut into three tiny slices, along with only two small shrimp. No wonder the picture on their menu wasn't very clear. On top of that the server had an unfriendly attitude that made the whole visit uncomfortable Unfortunately, this is the worst pho restaurant I've been to so far, and I won't be coming back. Coming into this place was such a mistake. We came by after a long trip to drop off some things in this side of town and thought this place would be good for a quick lunch and yeah never again will I step into another place called pho Viet again. First thing we noticed is the annoying camera alarm that kept going off every time someone would make a movement. They finally turned it off eventually but that went on for a good minute. When I went to order shaken beef the waitress came back and told me that they couldn't make it because of some reason. So I picked a special that she recommended then she comes back after a minute or so and proceeded to tell me they sold out when we came in with no one in the restaurant. Why offer it if you don't have it???? So I ended up have the special pho. Now mind you I've been to so many pho restaurants out there and this was one place that's ever served beef fat as a piece of meat for pho......no lie I thought it was tendon yeah no it was just straight fat like who are you fooling. The broth didn't taste fresh and I'm honestly fully regretting eating that. The chunk of beef I ate tasted frost bitten and tasted old. The portion size for it being $18 and the amount of meat and veggies it didn't come with blows my mind. I mean I get it times are tough but if you're charging almost $20 for a large bowl make it look a little believable. My son got the chicken and meatball with egg plate and the chicken was the thinnest piece of meat and was sitting on a pool of oil. The rice was dried out to hell and back and the salad came with that French onion dressing. Honestly I'm praying and hoping I don't get sick from this place. Oh lastly the condiments on the table the containers look like they haven't been cleaned off since they opened. So gross. Next time I'm in town this place will be a hard pass. I was really excited to try this place since it's so close to home, but unfortunately the pho just wasn't for me. I will say I am picky about my pho because I grew up making and eating it. The meat tasted old and had a mushy texture. I didn't mind the broth overall, but it was very fish-sauce forward and a bit too sweet for my preference. The noodles didn't seem to be rinsed before going into the broth, which made it cloudy. The spring roll wrappers also felt under-soaked or dried out from sitting too long. The customer service was great and the owner was very kind, but sadly this won't be a return spot for us. Not worth 49.99 for 2 bowls of pho,spring rolls and a can of coke. read more

The vibe of the restaurant is nothing special, but nothing bad. The service has been hit or miss for me, sometimes I get someone at the front who is kind and helpful and other times not so much. When I had a problem with a recent takeout order, the manager was quick to provide a solution-- offering a free meal during my next visit. Unfortunately, I just don't think this pho is worth the price. You can get much better elsewhere. They're definitely skimpy on the bean sprouts, basil, onions, lime, etc. They charge more for extra vegetables which I've never seen before. The broth doesn't have a lot of flavor and a lot of the time it's really oily. I'm a huge fan of pho, and this is the closest one to me so I've given it many chances because I'm desperate to love a restaurant that is close by. After reviewing several pho restaurants from yelp, we decided to go to this one cause of the great reviews. So glad we went and actually love this place. We ordered pho noodles (taste authentic), beef fried rice (so-so, a little sweet to me), fried tofu spring rolls (was alright), and fried wonton (taste great). I gave 4-star cause our intention is to order the noodles and they are delicious!!! I look forward to try more items on the menu next time I go back. Server was great, super nice, fast, and handled the entire restaurant by himself in the front. Kudos to this guy. Chef was amazing too, every so often brings food out and talk to customers. Disappointed, won't be back. Pho was ok but broth was too sour tasting. egg rolls and dumplings were burnt tasting and the paired sauces weren't good. Pork banh mi not good, stale hard bread and fatty meat. I asked for a banh mi and he didn't know what I was talking about so that should've been a red flag at a Vietnamese establishment. Since they sold the restaurant , the quality of the pho has declined significantly. Broth is salty as hell, noddles are hard and stick together and won't separate , they basically give you no vegetable with it. The pho just doesn't taste good anymore. She/ the old owner should have given the new owner her recipe . What Used to go there couple of times a week , won't go back unless they change things. Vietnamese food is my comfort food. There are a few Viet Restaurants around town and I prefer certain dishes at each place. Pho Viet is my go to for BÚN CHẢ GIÒ THỊT NƯỚNG (vermicelli with fried egg roll and grilled pork). This is salad-esque with noodles, lettuce, bean sprouts, pickled daikon, cucumbers served cold while the grilled pork and egg roll is hot. Pour the fish sauce (and some chili paste) on top like a dressing and mix it all up for a fresh Vietnamese salad of sorts. The Pho here is better than some other local places but it's not my go to here. Small restaurant with not too many tables but i've never had to wait long to get one. Service is good. They now serve a variety of Asian beers and wine by the glass and bottle. read more

When I went there a couple weeks ago I was so happy to hear they had Vegan pho. It was so good !!!!

Very small restaurant but that tells me everything I need to know. Place is always jamming all the time. Definitely the best broth I've had. Definitely recommend the P1, it's got all the meats!! Found this gem in Mayport! Tucked away in the back of a small shopping area, you'll find plenty of parking. I ordered the fried dumplings to start. Crispy and delicious ! Flavor explosion. The homemade limeade is a absolute must!!!! The sweet and sour taste dances on the palate. The rare steak pho comes with cilantro and Thai basil,bamboo shoots and a lime. Mixed together for a few minutes and watch the steak cook then enjoy the amazing flavors of Vietnamese seasoning. So glad we came here. The staff are friendly unlike the other Ramen place here in Mayport. So, yes!!!! read more

Looked good... Summer rolls and spring rolls were good but the Pho soup needed much more flavor definitely was not simmered long enough. The rice dishes were just okay.. nothing special. The coffee needed more condensed milk and needed to be steeped longer. They were not busy so service was okay. Overall would only come back if there was no other Viet food around. read more

Located in a small strip mall on Mayport Rd, @phovietjax is serving some tasty Vietnamese comfort food. We started with some crispy wontons with a nice soy dipping sauce. Crispy and delicious. But the main star was the grilled short ribs. Smokey and tender, they smelled so good I wanted to dab it a little on my wrist and behind my ear like it was a fine cologne. This is our go-to carry out option in the AB area! They have delicious pho and banh mi! We have ordered take out from here a handful of times and it is always fresh, hot, and delicious. They have a variety of pho options with all the toppings. You can also eat here at the restaurant, but it is a little small so we usually bring it home. Very friendly service as well! I'd like to give Pho Viet at least another star but unfortunately my first visit didn't leave me with the best impression. I called in my order to-go for the stir fry tofu and veggies, substituting double veggies for the tofu. The guy taking my order asked for my name, which I provided and, out of habit, proceeded to spell. It's not a common name and most of the time I'm asked to spell it, which I'm happy to oblige. Halfway through me helping him spell it, he laughed and dismissively said, "whatever". I was caught off guard by his reaction; I was simply trying to help him so he wouldn't butcher my name. After asking what I wanted, he asked, "that's it?" Nothing unusual there. I confirmed that's all I wanted. The unusual part was the way he asked "that's it?" again in an incredulous tone, as if he couldn't believe that's all I wanted to order. I don't know how much his other customers order but I can only eat so much; I'd imagine an 11.95 entree was sufficient for one person. Upon arriving, he hurried to apologize and claimed he thought I was his girlfriend calling. So... you don't know what your own girlfriend's voice sounds like? Cool story bro. He also alleged he thought I was her because HIS name is Mark Cane (Kane? Spelling irrelevant.) Why she'd call him by his full name, I don't know nor do I care. His lack of customer service rubbed me the wrong way, especially as a first-time customer. He admitted he could tell by my face as I walked through the door I was displeased. As much as I'd like to believe his story, it's not the easiest excuse to digest. It's unfortunate my first visit was less than pleasant. My stir fry veggies and egg noodles was pretty good. It was a generous portion of a variety of veggies, including bok choy, broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, onions, and snow peas in a garlicky soy-based sauce over tender noodles. The menu lists the dish as 11.95. By my calculations including tax, it should have rung up to about 12.79. My total before tip was 15 and some change. All I subbed was tofu for veggies; not request double tofu or other protein. I still tipped 20% because I'm not an a-hole. Overall, though, I'm hesitant to visit again. I'm open to a second chance just no time soon. If my next experience is as challenging, it's time to explore other Vietnamese restaurants. Shame because Viet Pho is conveniently located less than a mile from where I live. read more

My boyfriend and I came here on a Friday night and it was quite busy, almost all tables were full. We stood awkwardly by the door and were not acknowledged by staff for at least 5 minutes. After being seated and looking around, they seemed understaffed with most tables sitting idle waiting to place orders. We knew exactly what we wanted upon sitting down and the waiter we called denied taking our order because there were tables ahead of us. I'm still not sure to this moment if this place is first come first serve or not but they need to better inform customers of their service style. As to the food, I would consider it authentic Vietnamese food for non-Vietnamese people. My boyfriend order the bun bo hue and absolutely hated it. Key ingredients were not in the dish (pig blood) and staff never heard of it, broth color was completely off, and the broth tasted watery. In addition, the bowl was brought out with side toppings that were meant for pho, not bun bo hue which was strange...maybe this place is only good for pho. Are you hungry and want to fill your stomach with comfort food? This is the place. Now, I didn't order anything crazy. I ordered some simple items- V1, Pho with vegetables and fried tofu, and A4, fried shrimp rolls. But my, oh my was it just what I needed. It's not my best description but I would relate/equate it to chicken noodle soup vibe. Not the taste. It felt good, it tasted great and I did a little happy dance while eating. You know the happy dance, right? It filled my belly very well. And fried shrimp. It literally was shrimp wrapped in wonton paper and fried, with a side of sweet chili sauce to dip. It was sooo good. There were condiments on the table like most places would keep, but it's not quite COVID-19 proper since anyone could have touched the utensils sitting in the dish. However, our servers wore masks. Oh! I can't believe I nearly forgot. I did order two different drinks. The first was 50% unsweet Jasmine green tea and 50% unsweetened, cold. The taste reminded me of licking mailing envelopes. My first experience at Pho Viet was a few years ago and I did not like it. My mistake was getting soup which I'm not a fan of because my dining companion insisted that I would love it. Last night we had three entrees that were each very tasty, and in the case of two of them an elegant presentation. Which seemed somewhat out of place in this tiny nook in a shopping center. The entrees that looked great and tasted great were the grilled pork chops, shrimp, and fried egg served with rice (C5), and rice with grilled chicken (C11). Both were excellent as was the third entree special fried rice (R2) which has pork, chicken, and seafood. I'll definitely get this one again. read more

Pho Viet's pho is legit. The broth has rich, deep beef flavor - you walk out with the feeling of nourishment that consuming a ton of collagen gives you. The noodles are great, the meats are cooked well (and appropriately rare) the accompaniments are all fresh, and the condiments (especially the chili garlic paste, a lot of their stuff is clearly housemade) are authentic. Add in friendly service, great prices, and the fact that it's one shopping center over from Reve? An easy five stars. read more

Good broth. Not the best I've ever had or anything, but addictive yet drinkable. I also love how hot they serve it, so that it almost burns your mouth. Some people will probably think it's too hot. Those people are losers. ;-) The steak is thin and served still red, the brisket is savory and tender, the meatball chunks are large, and the bean sprouts look relatively fresh.
