Calamari

This is probably my third review for The Chophouse at Nocatee & each time the service and food has been consistently excellent. I do want to tell you that one of my favorite things about The Chophouse is it has two different vibes. If you go upstairs to the rooftop, it's very casual especially for happy hour. There is lots of chatter and a more electric atmosphere. You don't need a reservation if you go upstairs on the rooftop, especially if you're willing to wait for a table. You can get some light casual bites during happy hour as well as some discounts on alcohol. if you're looking for a more sophisticated evening, more ambience and a reason to get a little dressed and have some quiet conversation make a reservation for downstairs. Downstairs is more intimate. There are a lot of booths and the food is at a higher price point. ( Although you can get the same menu upstairs, should you choose. ) There is also a bar area that has bar bites and is a little more casual. Just remember if you're sitting in the bar area the tables can be tight, especially when the bar is crowded. On a previous visit we had a large group at the bar and the people at the table in front of us were annoyed. Keep in mind this is what you get when you sit in a bar area. So keep that in mind. They have delicious burgers in the bar area that I don't believe they serve in the dining room. However, they do serve them upstairs on the rooftop. We had a fabulous dinner in the dining room. Appetizer consisted of the fried calamari served with a sweet chili type sauce and then we asked for their yummy truffle Parmesan fries. For my main I ordered the lobster macaroni and cheese. It was huge. It serves family style, so it's really a side, but I had it as a main. I must say the lobster Mac & cheese is much much better than that new high-end steakhouse that has a number in front of its name if you know what I'm talking about, wink wink. My husband had a ribeye and thought it was delicious. He also got a very large loaded, stuffed baked potato, which he really enjoyed. Also much better than that new high-end steak restaurant with the number before its name. We were a party of six & everyone really enjoyed their entrées. For dessert we had the bread pudding, which was absolutely fabulous and my husband had the cheesecake with a cherry sauce. Just to mention,on a previous visit a friend ordered the carrot cake. It was the hugest piece of cake I've ever seen and it was absolutely delicious. The server told us that all the desserts are made in house. If you're going out to spend your money and want a guarantee that you will have fabulous experience all around The Chophouse should be your choice.

Amazing service, amazing food, amazing drinks, amazing atmosphere! Banana bread old fashioned was off the chart! The steak was so tender and the lobster was huge! Brianna was our server and she could not have been more gracious!

We came for an end of the year meal and seems everyone else had the same idea but the food was tasty and service was attentive. We were in the back room in what felt like an added on table and overall the space doesn't handle sound well but we had a great silent dinner. To start we had the tenderloin tips and focaccia and we really enjoyed both of those. The bread is so soft and it also reheats really nicely in the air fryer the next day if you have extras. For our meals my husband got the chicken and I got the lamb. The portions were excellent! For dessert I went with key lime and my husband picked the cheesecake, both were good but the key lime was the better choice. Overall you know you're going into a higher price meal if you come here but it's worth it in my opinion.

I wanted to come to the rooftop as I've been craving the focaccia bread since the last time I had it! I was disappointed that my order didn't come with the olive tapenade I had last time and that is pictured on their menu. The Focaccia bread is supposed to come with olive tapenade and 6 pieces pictured - we got 4 pieces and not a tapenade, more of a (red?) olive butter - I didn't care for the olive butter and had been really looking forward to the tapenade. The bread is the best texture ever! Crispy yet soft.

Chop House in Nocatee is a solid go-to when you're craving a classic steakhouse experience in Ponte Vedra. The atmosphere feels polished, yet comfortable. The steaks were cooked well and nicely seasoned, and the menu offers a great variety of traditional steakhouse favorites. Service is always attentive and professional.

What a gem! The ambiance is fantastic elegant yet relaxed, especially on the rooftop, which has a more casual vibe but still feels special. The service was outstanding from start to finish. Nice wine list! We started with the focaccia platter, which was absolutely delicious, the warm bread paired perfectly with the olive tapenade. For the main course, I had the steak frites with truffle fries, cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. Every bite was spot-on. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset from the rooftop, which made the evening even better. I can't wait to come back, this place is definitely a new favorite in Nocatee!

Chophouse at nocatee was delicious! I took mom here for dinner and we left happy and full. Located in Ponte Vedra the restaurant was sleek and elegant. The ambiance is more for date night or intimate dinner in my opinion Food- we started off with the delicious buttery silk bread with seasonings to the side. Then the scrumptious calamari that did not disappoint. Usually I'm picky with calamari and I hate rubbery texture but this one was delicious as it was crispy on the outside yet melt in your mouth soft. The shrimp and grits I got were so flavorful and creamy I highly recommend as well as the the faroe island salmon. Very flavorful and cooked to perfection. Service was great. I definitely will be back again

Ambiance is good. Food is good but overpriced for value. Service is definitely misleading. We've been a few times rooftop for drinks and appetizers. We' were well aware of prices. But when a waiter asks 'which side you'd like with your entrees?', you don't presume it's an added charge of $12-16 per side. 'Would you like to add a side to your entree' would key you into added charges. A baked potato or fries shouldn't be $14 when you're paying $68 for an entree. And when the waiter asks if you'd like onions or mushrooms to top your steak... adding $14 for mushrooms is absurd. It's not a 4/5 star restaurant. The focaccia is great. Drinks are decent... but a meal, no thanks. Our steaks were undercooked. For this price point your chefs should get it right on the first try. You're paying for expertise at these price points. We'll make the drive outta the Noc for steaks. Recommendation: train your staff better. The place has some good qualities, but there's work to be done.

If you ask me, there aren't enough good rooftop spots in Jax, but Chophouse Nocatee just raised the bar. A rooftop spot that not only delivers stunning views (looking out on the water) but also some seriously delicious food? Yes, please! I started with a Moscow mule, and I'll admit, it's hard to go wrong with a mule, but this one was very good. It set the tone for the evening, which was, very nearly perfect. The bread they brought out at the start...I tried to resist it, but... I'd be lying if I said I didn't indulge in a little. It's so good. Try not to fill up though because there's so much more deliciousness to come! Now, the main event--the Chophouse Wagyu burger. It's been a while since I've had a burger this good. Cooked to medium rare perfection. Juicy, flavorful, and loaded with fresh toppings. As for the fries? Pretty solid. But I'll admit, I got a little jealous of my friend's crispy Brussels sprouts. I tried one... okay, maybe two... and they were awesome. The chicken sandwich she ordered also got two thumbs up. Now the servuce... from the hosts to the servers to the food runners, everyone was top-notch. Warm, knowledgeable, and on top of everything. It's not just about good food; the service made the whole experience feel like a VIP event. I'll definitely be back for the food, the service, and of course some of the stunning views. Chophouse Nocatee, you've got a fan!

We had a girls night for a table of 8. We had planned to do the rooftop but it was closed due to the weather. We sat inside at a large half booth table which is perfect for our group. The decor and ambiance was super cute and comfortable but very cold in our section. I had the snapper and highly recommend. I took some home. I tried the Brussel sprouts and the Parmesan fries which I loved both. My only suggestion is for the restaurant to have some sort of aioli for the fries instead of ketchup. Service was great, fast, attentive.

We had a great dinner at Chop House at Nocatee this past weekend. I'd been there once before and didn't feel ready to leave a review--mainly because I had the fish that time, and let's be honest, this is a steakhouse through and through. This time, I went with the filet and sautéed spinach, and it was spot-on. Cooked perfectly and full of flavor. My wife got the surf and turf, which was also done just right, and the 16 oz ribeye was massive--tender, juicy, and a true pound of meat. Our server, Trevor, was friendly and really hustled to make sure we had everything we needed. Service overall was great--lots of staff around and people checking in on us throughout the meal. One thing to note: the sides come with an additional upcharge, and the prices overall are on the higher side for the area. Think Ruth's Chris-level pricing--steaks a la carte, drinks on the pricey end. For the three of us, with a salad and entrée each, one shared side, no dessert, and no bottle of wine, we ended up at about $100 per person. So definitely more of a special-occasion kind of place than your go-to weeknight dinner spot. That said, the food and experience were solid. Plenty of parking, easy to book a reservation online, and if you're skipping dessert, Ben & Jerry's is right across the street for a sweet ending to the night. We're curious to check out the rooftop menu next time, which we've heard might be a little easier on the wallet. All in all, a classy spot with quality food and great service--just be ready for steakhouse pricing.

I visited Chop House for the first time on a Saturday evening at 5 PM. Rooftop seating was full so I found us a spot at a high table at the bar. We started with the focaccia served with herb butter and olive tapenade. Oh my, the bread was soft on the inside and crispy around the edges. I added the olives and a little butter and enjoyed a few slices. I ordered the NY strip and my friends and I ordered several sides to share. The steak was cooked perfectly, medium, and was packed with flavor. It was so big, I ate half for dinner and the rest the following day. We shared truffle fries, asparagus and brussel sprouts. My favorite was the tie between the brussels, crispy and seasoned well, and asparagus, tasty and tender but not mushy. My least favorite were the truffle fries. Not because they tasted bad, but because I'm not a huge fry fan. No dessert because we were stuffed. Our server was attentive and friendly. I would love to go back and hope to find an open table on the rooftop next time.

I had completely forgotten that Chop House Nocatee till our friends invited us to dinner their. We made a reservation ahead of time and that worked out because it was pretty packed when we arrived. We wanted to check out the rooftop but it has been so cold lately so we just grabbed a drink at the bar. Once seated our waiter explained that it was their soft opening so they didn't have everything available just yet and they had more they were planning to add. We started with appetizers and drinks of course. We went with the Focaccia Bread Plate, the Fried Calamari, and for my drink a Dirty Vodka Martini and good news they have Blue Cheese Stuffed Olives. The Focaccia Bread was great, some of the best bread I have have ever had. Now I know it's not free beard but at only $6 you are going to want to try this. The Fried Calamari was good. It some tossed in a Thai Chili Sauce with fried banana and roasted red peppers. I will say I was a little disappointed that the calamari didn't have any of the tentacle piece but it was still good. For my entrees/starts/sides I went with the Lobster Chowder, The Prime 16oz Ribeye, and the Lobster Mac & Cheese for my side. The Lobster Chowder was very good. Pretty much a lobster bisque with potatoes, corn, bacon, and other veggies. I had a lot of small pieces of lobster in to too which is a step up from most lobster bisques. I got by Ribeye cooked medium rare and it was done perfectly. very tender and flavorful. The only thing I would have changed was maybe getting an accompaniment for the steak just to give it that next level of flavor. The Lobster Mac & Cheese was very good and for sure the best side we had in my opinion. I feel like when you're at a steak house you have to get a good Lobster Mac as well. I was also able to try Ashley's Parmesan Truffle Fries which were just OK in my opinion. I have just had much better ones and at lowers prices as well. All and all we have a very nice dinner and Chop House is a great addition to Nocatee. We will for sure be back to check out the rooftop bar as well as the menu when they are fully having everything

We stopped here, at this location, late one night with some friends and it was so nice to find a place that served food and drinks later in the evening. Service was a little slow but in fairness there were only 3 or 4 front of house staff working that evening including the bartender. Now, this location has a slightly different menu than the one in Savannah but still has a few of their popular dishes such as the Treylor Park Nachos Grande, Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, PB&J Wings, and Treylor Park Pot Pie! I always order the Treylor Park Nachos... it's a massive tray of waffle fries plus a healthy amount of toppings such as pickles, fried chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese with chive ranch & balsamic gastrique. I mean it's a meal of WAFFLE FRIES with enough for myself, to share, and leftovers for when I get home from the drive there! LOL! The Treylor Park Pot Pie is really good too. It's basically chicken pot pie filling in a fried burrito with some pico de gallo on top. My friends ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes... which she loved and was a first for me. Verdict: I liked them. This location is pretty good but it's still not quite as good as the original location; however, I would still recommend giving this place a try.

The restaurant itself is pretty, and the food looks fresh and appealing when it comes out. Unfortunately, the flavor didn't quite live up to the presentation. We ordered the crab burger, T's wrap with grilled shrimp, bean salad, cucumber salad, and hush puppies. The crab burger was especially underwhelming and honestly tasted like very little. We even added extra sweet bam bam sauce to try to give the fried crab patty some kind of boost, but it still didn't do much for the flavor. T's wrap was better. The grilled shrimp and fresh salad-style filling made it light and enjoyable, but it still was not especially memorable. The fried hush puppies were also pretty bland, and there are definitely other spots that do both much better. The standout items, outside of the drinks, were the bean salad and cucumber salad. Both of those had the seasoning and flavor we were hoping for, and we genuinely enjoyed them more than the main dishes. We came during happy hour, and that ended up being the high point of the visit. The watermelon lemonade was delicious, and the piña colada, while not included in happy hour pricing, was exactly what we wanted.
