Shrimp quesadilla

We were enthusiastically greeted at the door and seated. Our waitress quickly took our orders and we sat. And sat and sat. After about 25 minutes she came over and said the food would be out in another 2-3 minutes. 10 minutes later it arrived. It was good. Good portion, well seasoned. Nothing amazing. It would have been nice if she checked up on us. Maybe brought us some water? We saw plenty of staff just wandering around. Not interacting with the customers. Rather disappointing. It was also very loud. There were a few tables watching football that would scream and cheer. The cocktail menu looked great. Over all. It was fine. I'd go back and sit at the bar for a cocktail, then go eat somewhere else.

This is our third visit, and definitely not our last. We came in on a Friday for happy hour, but noticed that the menu had changed from what was listed online. The options were more limited and none quite to our liking, so we opted for items from the regular menu instead. I've had their shrimp and grits before and enjoyed them, so this time I ordered the fish. It was still tasty, but I wish the protein portion was larger. My husband ordered the SKS cheesesteak, which was delicious, but then again, it would've been better with a bit more meat. Additionally, the hoagie bread felt a bit stale when you break it, the pieces don't stick together and it's slightly dry. We also requested that our drinks be served with our food, but unfortunately, they arrived after we had almost finished eating. Overall, we'll definitely be back, but likely for brunch, as we had a more enjoyable experience during our last visit.

The 3rd of July will never be the same. We went out and had a quiet dinner for two at Southside Kitchen and spirits which was right down the road from a Yelp event we had a couple of months ago Ambiance amazing. Service barnone. The food was not a perfect 10. We waited a few minutes to be served by our waitress but the place was little busy. The waitress was bubbly and took our order right away. She also informed us about the events at South Kitchen. Bring on those drinks! Wifey had a prosecco and I had a Miller light. Next the piece de resistance or so I thought came. We started with the bourbon biscuits without plates. Wifey enjoyed them. They were not soft, flaky and buttery to me. Next were the meals, I had the salmon slicers packed with stuff, lettuce, tomato and a sauce. They just taste like salmon. No kick or punch at all. The truffle fries were the worst that I've had. They were worst than regular fries. I complained about the fries and 10 minutes later I was given regular fries. To add to the injury of bad truffles, I was charged for the truffle fries. It was only a $1 extra but still. No desserts but food was questionable. The wings were fine but I wish my food was perfect. The meal was reasonable priced. Would I come back? The verdict is still out on that question?

Hot chicken legs. These are simply incredible.

I've been coming here with my wife for years at this point. For a time I'd say we were coming three times a month. The food was great, the service was awesome and the prices were solid. We'd have a really nice time, I'd get some loyalty points and it kept us coming back. But now the quality has just gone down so much. First it was getting rid of Heinz ketchup. My wife likes ketchup for her fries and the new stuff they have is GROSS. For a while she was bringing ketchup packets in her purse. Then they took the pork tostadas off the menu. Our favorite appetizer was gone but then we went to the chicken legs. Now the last couple of times the burgers, which were always the highlight of our meal have gone downhill too. I like a rare burger, and they used to KILL it. Perfectly cooked each time. So juicy and well seasoned. Now they are overcooked and not as good. They have gone with more traditional (boring) appetizers and have spinach dip and fried mozzarella sticks on the menu now and the happy hour menu has gotten less extensive and value focused too. Our favorite cocktail, the Cherry Limeade isn't on the happy hour menu either. What used to be a fun, enjoyable place for lunch or dinner has now become just mediocre place with dwindling standards.

Good food and excellent service! It was slower on a Sunday evening which was nice. Our server was very attentive. We both got the chicken and waffles which are so much better than they used to be. They have switched the chicken from tenders and it is so tender now. Only complaint was they were out of sweet tea at 6:30.

Great meal celebrating a friend's birthday. Monday night is "ladies night" offering a selection of reduced price cocktails and appetisers. Not too busy for a Monday night but a nice atmosphere (once the very loud lady nearby had left!) with great service. Our server was very helpful and friendly and did not charge for my birthday friend's meal as a kind gesture.

Nice venue, great happy hour deals, decent food, though the portion sizes are a bit on the small side. The service was good and on some nights, they even have live music!

Mozzarella sticks

I've given South Kitchen more chances than it deserves, and each visit has been a letdown. This time? I ordered mozzarella sticks--a featured menu item, no less--and opened each one to find them completely hollow. No cheese. Just empty shells. It felt like a metaphor for the entire experience. What's worse? They didn't even offer to remake them. Which tells me this isn't a fluke--it's how they're actually serving them. No apology, no accountability, not even a gesture from the manager.

I came with a group of six on a Saturday night at 5:30. The place was not too busy at all. Our server came over quickly and got our drink orders. We had to wait a little bit for her to return with our drinks and to take our order before happy hour ended at 6:00. Our food took a rather long time to come out but we did not say anything, it happens. The manager came over and explained that our ticket got pushed behind a big party and he will be comping part of our bill for the inconvenience. That was very nice of him. Our server apologized profusely as well. The salads were pretty good as well as the parmesan truffle fries. I would like to come back and try more food as they had a decent sized menu with lots of options.

Bourbon Sugar Butter Biscuits ... out of them!!
Kim C.

Server, Gidget was professional and attentive. Although we didn't take the news of NO bourbon biscuits well ... she understood we were teasing with her. Although, I do have to question the kitchen staff having no bourbon biscuits on a Sunday morning for BRUNCH! We arrived and immediately got seated for our party of 8 ... mimosas and coffee served straight away. Food was delayed a bit in serving as many diners there too ... but all dishes arrived hot, and together & correctly. It's a clean place and bathrooms clean too.

While I LOVED the Ham and Gruyère melt, it was nicely toasted but cold :(. It wasn't warm, like at all. The flavor was still amazing though so I ate it as is. The salad was also surprisingly flavorful! I was able to save half for a leftover lunch and can't wait to order it again sometime. I needed a to-go cup to and had to go track one down from the host stand while waiting a long time for our food. My child got the kids half waffle. I always wish it was a full size waffle since they love to order the waffle but usually get hungry shortly after since it's half and it comes with the teeny condiment size fruit cup unlike some other kids menu items. Usually even the teeny cup is filled quite a bit but today it was 3 pineapple pieces and one grape . The bacon was really soft and not crispy so it wasn't eaten. The drink came without a straw, so I had to go get one from the host stand since our server didn't stop back by until the food was brought out and I didn't have any luck getting their attention before then. The most annoying part today was being a charged a new "packaging supplies" fee on a to-go order for another family member. I know it's only $.50 but to me, that's the cost of doing food business and wasn't disclosed before ordering. Today's whole experience would have been rated even lower, especially compared to my other visits if it hadn't been lifted up by how great my meal tasted and the fact that we usually love to come here. Hoping next time is better - and now we won't order to-go meals any more.

We stopped here, at this location, late one night with some friends and it was so nice to find a place that served food and drinks later in the evening. Service was a little slow but in fairness there were only 3 or 4 front of house staff working that evening including the bartender. Now, this location has a slightly different menu than the one in Savannah but still has a few of their popular dishes such as the Treylor Park Nachos Grande, Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, PB&J Wings, and Treylor Park Pot Pie! I always order the Treylor Park Nachos... it's a massive tray of waffle fries plus a healthy amount of toppings such as pickles, fried chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese with chive ranch & balsamic gastrique. I mean it's a meal of WAFFLE FRIES with enough for myself, to share, and leftovers for when I get home from the drive there! LOL! The Treylor Park Pot Pie is really good too. It's basically chicken pot pie filling in a fried burrito with some pico de gallo on top. My friends ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes... which she loved and was a first for me. Verdict: I liked them. This location is pretty good but it's still not quite as good as the original location; however, I would still recommend giving this place a try.

We found this restaurant completely by accident while exploring after moving to the area, and it has become one of our favorite local breakfast spots ever since. Even during the long road construction period off 210, we kept making the trip because the experience was always worth it. The atmosphere feels authentic and personal. The walls are filled with sentimental family treasures, customer photos, and little pieces of history collected over the years. One framed Christmas card from a customer hanging on the wall especially stood out because it perfectly reflects the relationship this restaurant has built with the community. Peter ordered his favorite, the Complete Breakfast with eggs, bacon, hash browns, and pancakes. The pancakes were absolutely incredible and earned our Culinary Duo "Best of the Best" recognition. Light, fluffy, buttery, and perfectly cooked, they tasted homemade in the best possible way. The coffee kept flowing throughout the meal and the staff treated everyone warmly without feeling rushed or scripted. Susan enjoyed one of the fresh salads while Peter unapologetically added extra maple syrup to every pancake in sight. What we appreciated most was how genuine the entire experience felt. This is not a trendy brunch spot trying to impress social media. It is a real local restaurant serving comforting food with pride and consistency. If you appreciate hometown breakfast spots, friendly service, great pancakes, and authentic community atmosphere, Café Genovese is absolutely worth visiting.

For the price of their blue cheese chips, which is very reasonable, you get a TON, covered and smothered in blue cheese sauce and a balsamic drizzle. The chips were housemade saratoga chips and were crispy and delicious. For dinner I opted to order a Greek side salad and a loaded baked potato. The Greek salad was good, but I wasn't a huge fan of the red peppers in the salad. I'm not a huge red pepper fan or peppers in general. The baked potato was stuffed and delicious, full of bacon, sour cream, butter, and cheese. It was delicious and huge. ($8 for a baked potato is a bit high IMO).
