I've been here a couples time but tonight was great, delicious drinks & munchies, cocktails & beers are half off 3-7pm & half off all munchies (burger/ fries, queso chips, etc) We sat at the bar, service was prompt, my Pinã Colada is strong and full of flavor! Burger is on the smaller side but not bad for $8, queso with bean, tasty with generous portion of chips! Love the vibe & atmosphere! So inviting with open concept and plenty of outdoor seatings! On weekends, they do get very busy and not enough parking, however there's a grass area that you can park on. We were a party of nine, so not the easiest-sized group for one person to serve. Our waitperson Ashley made a good effort to keep up with all the requests/orders. She did double check for anything onion in my choices and I am grateful for that! Everyone thought the food was tasty and cooked well. There was plenty of it in the servings and several take-home boxes were needed. I loved the appetizer Island BBQ Nachos! It needed a serving spoon for easier sharing. The Buffalo Sauce fries quickly disappeared (there was a spoon in that). I got the No Fry Stir Fry. It was light and fresh, with perfectly cooked rice. The atmosphere is sporty, with numerous TVs. I've been to this location only a couple of times. A little after the lunch rush with sort-of mixed results. On our first visit the wait on the kitchen was really long for a nearly empty place. And second visit, the wait at the door was silly considering the place was almost empty. We were only seconds away from leaving and heading somewhere else. Food however, is pretty good. I've enjoyed a late-night burger at the Southside location before, so will attest to a decent burger and good beer selection. At the Bartram Market, we've done lunch time wings in our visits so I can stick to a "diet." Lunch special 5 wings and a side for $9.95. The son liked his wings in Buffalo kiwi sauce but was bummed by the limp fries. I had a dry rub and was happy to see that broccoli was an option for sides. Pretty happy with the visit. Yummy and inexpensive. But 5 wings is a pretty light snack. So for our second visit we simply went with the regular menu 10 wings (no sides) for $18.95 rather than the lunch special that wouldn't fill us up. He was happy that they would split his order into two flavors. I was a little miffed to count only 9 wings on my plate, but didn't complain since I was full by then anyways. So, for double the money, we were quite stuffed and happy. But that's more a commentary on the economy than a ding on the restaurant. Nice sports bar atmosphere. Nice clean tables. Pretty decent service with just a couple of hiccups. The wings themselves are top notch. Baked, not fried, but they still turn out well. With good sauce and rub selections. Love this place! It is the perfect spot for large gatherings, the food is always good, the service is decent and the managers are always top-notch, amazing, and on it! I have been here with my family and we always enjoy it. However, I come here every few months with a group of ladies for laughs, fun, food & drink. It has become our "go-to" place. They are always very accommodating and we appreciate it very much. We are always trying to figure out ways we can make it easier on them simply because we love the venue. And they don't mind putting up with us! That said, there have been a few hiccups here and there...nothing is perfect. Like the time I ordered 10 boneless wings to go, only to get home to find I only had 6 wings and they were traditional. I have a recent hiccup story to share with a few laughs. We were in our large group and I ordered 15 boneless wings. Our server Kiara(sp?) forgot the wings were on special on Wednesdays. If I had known, I would have ordered differently and more (I'm sad-- sniffle). I spoke to the manager David and he took care of me and ensured I had 20 wings with an adjustment. I ate 2, my friend ate 1 and the rest (17) were going home with me for my family! Woot! Folks started to leave and the team is/was so on top of things that they started clearing the tables of trash, dishes, etc. as we sat talking and not paying attention. They are quick and super efficient! However, my friend had a bag with her money and car keys in it and they threw it out accidentally because, you know, they are so quick and efficient and thought it was trash...whew...they found it. We got a chuckle out of that. Then I realized they took my to-go boxes...ho hum...my food for my family...my wings, my blackened mahi, my battered green beans I split with someone else...boo...gone! All I really cared about was the wings since I told my guys I was bringing them home. I inquired, David was gone, but the other manager on duty put in an order to cover me and Kiara asked me if it was 15 and I said 20. Of course, we did eat 3 so 15 was fine at this point, and off to the kitchen she went. The staff is so friendly, they met me with fresh wings and an apology. Nice folks--we chatted a bit since they are starting to get to know our group. Got home, only to have 10 wings...after all of that... all I could do was laugh and feel a little defeated for the sake of my guys. My fault too for not checking before I left. My guys weren't happy and had to fight over them--LOL! Anyhoo...I'm sure if I had noticed before leaving they would have made it right. They are busy, mistakes happen, and if you bring it to their attention they will address it. It's certainly not a reason to knock a star off. Those wings are yummy! The staff is usually friendly and it's easy to get a table. The wings to me are not good. One huge positive is the burgers. They have great burgers. We sat in our booth for about 15 minutes with no server approaching us at all. We thought it was comical since nobody ever came to our table. This place has so much potential. It's a good location with great outdoor seating - something desperately needed in the area, but it's just not a great experience. This evening, I went with a couple friends thinking we could just grab a quick bite. I had arrived about 10 minutes after them and they still had not received their drinks (they were just being given water as I was sitting down). It took about another 15 or so minutes for them to finally get their drinks from a runner. And a few minutes after that we had to literally flag down our server so I could order a drink and we could all order food. I will be fair and say I don't know if our server also had tables inside, but it wasn't particularly packed outside, so the timing feels excessive. We all ordered 6 wings in various flavors with sides of celery. When the food came out (didn't take super long for it to actually come out) we were all missing celery and had to ask for it. The runners came back to inform us they had run out of celery. The server came to check on us eventually and we mentioned we were disappointed, so he went to check for carrots - also out. It seems like poor planning to run out of a main item that is served (not the first time for me that this has happened here). To add insult to injury (I'm being a little dramatic) this is one of the only places I've ever been that charges for club soda. And a high price at that! $3.50. The Coronas my friends had cost less . (Come at me if you need to - but it's water. I don't mind paying for it but holy moly) And the reason everyone comes here - the wings! Very mediocre. They taste about as good as the TGIFridays frozen wings you find in your grocer's freezer. Final note. Make sure you carpool. The parking is a pain. Never enough. Prepare to park at Autozone and walk over. Or in the grass if you have the proper vehicle, and there's space. The four of us came on Thursday trivia night. Sadly because only trivia was so fun, that's the only reason it got 3 stars even. Our server was nice but after drink round 1, we waited a long time for her to return. However ..the food. The place is called Island Wing company so you are basically advertising you specialize in wings. This is a return visit to give this place another chance. These are the smallest wings I've ever had anywhere hands down and overcooked fried up nothing. Hardly any meat at all. It's a shame because they have potential. I had dry wings garlic Parmesan and flavor wasn't bad. The food we ordered took so long that we wanted to just go home and take everything off the bill. Truvia had completely ended and most people left and still no food yet. We had the waitress check the kitchen and they hadn't even made part of it yet so only to be kind we cancelled that and took the flatbread from the kitchen home with a box and our bill. Though now it was such a waste we should have just left without that also. No one is going to eat it. The flatbread was so loaded with mozzarella cheese it was just white big blob. It does not look appealing. The place itself is a decent sports bar. Each booth had its own tv and lots of TVs around. The outside has nice seating and fire pits for cooler weather. You guys really need an overhaul in the kitchen to make this work. If we ever come back it'll be for drinks only. And don't try to come here on a Thursday to watch a game because we did the first visit and trivia is so loud you can't hear really anything else. It's very loud and trying to hear the host even because of the noise level. Really carries in here. Parking is very trying on a Thursday at least also. So be mindful of that as well. read more

Food: First; I LOVE that nothing is fried yet the flavor is still there. I love fried pickles so when I saw these on the menu I has to give them a go. So GLAD I did! Best pickles I've had! Nice and crispy without too much breading and not greasy and soggy liked many fried ones! All of the food was good. Ordered wings, buffalo chicken sandwich and Baja tacos. I should have ordered two tacos and not three. There is SO MUCH food. The tacos had a nice size fish in each taco with decent amount of toppings with it. I was not impressed the first time we came to Island Wings a couple years ago. It wasn't bad but nothing to make me want to come back. We happened to come after my son's soccer game a couple months ago because we needed somewhere close before his little brother fell asleep. The food was much better and the service was exceptional. We've come back 4 times since and every time are blown away by the service. The burgers and motz sticks are our go-tos but we had the poke nachos today and will definitely be getting those many more times. There's almost always a food special with multiple kids eat free days and times. The wings are ok but we have other restaurants we prefer for that so we stick to other menu items. But more than anything, the service. Today the manager went out of his way to set us up on the back patio since our Saints game wasn't anywhere inside. Nicole was so sweet and attentive and was checking on us so frequently despite being the only people on the patio she never forgot about us. They have food and drink options on happy hour and well as daily specials too. For an appetizer we got the Chili Con Queso & Chips for $6. I also got the House Margarita which was a daily Tuesday special at $5. The Chili Con Queso came out pretty quickly and had more Chili then I would be expected but was still good. Could have been a little thicker though. For my entrée I was thinking "How could I not order wings" But when I saw the Blackened Mahi Reuben I knew I had to get it.The Blackened Mahi Reuben comes with blackened Mahi fillet, crunchy shredded cabbage, cool tomato slices, melted Swiss cheese, and special Island sauce on toasted marble rye bread for $14.95. For My side with went with fries. I will the Blackened Mahi Reuben was pretty good. It came with a nice large piece of well seasoned Mahi and plenty of cheese. I also was impressed with the fries too. For oven baked they were nice and crispy. My mother in law also made it easy not to get wings since she got an order of 20 with Garlic Parmesan. The wings were crispy for being oven cooked vs being fried. I will say though that some of the wings were pretty small and the Garlic Parmesan was a little plan tasting. I will say the next step that will really take them to the next level would be Triple Garlic Buffalo with some Parmesan. Could be perfection but they also have a lot of other wing sauces I am interested in. My mom's particular about where she goes to eat her meals, so when the got out of our movie. I pulled out a map and found this Island Wing Co. so off we went. When we got there the place was hopping. It was a Sunday so all the football games were on and it was pretty loud. The hostess was very kind and sat us in the middle of the place near the bar at one of the big tables, even though it was just the two of us. Our server was phenomenal. She joked with my mother about her dislike of ranch dressing. Anyone who can can my mom no so seriously is a winner in my book. I got a Citrus Basil Breeze (Smirnoff Citrus Vodka, triple sec, simple syrup, and lemon juice shaken with fresh cucumber and basil leaves). The vodka is real in this drank. I was good but I needed to eat something with it. I decided to order the Caribbean Jerk Flatbread (sweet and spicy jerk sauce, diced grilled chicken, pineapple, caramelized onions, mozzarella and asiago cheeses) and I asked if mushrooms good be added. Our server said it was no problem. I don't normally order flatbreads because if I want pizza I'd go to a pizza joint. But this item was very tasty. Mama got 10 Garlic Parmesan wings with blue cheese dressing. She said the wings were skimpy and the blue cheese was not chunky to her liking, but she still ate them all. While I finished the flatbread faster than her, I went ahead and ordered the White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake and it was delicious. This will be a fairly short review as I have never eaten at Island Wings but I have stopped in for a beer a couple of times. Island Wings is HUGE, there are so many tables and TVs however there are not enough parking spots so don't let cars parked all over the place worry you there is plenty of room. There are several beers on draft, mostly lagers and IPAs so that is kind of boring but there are a lot of local beers. They had good bartenders that are ready to make a suggestion if needed and a big cocktail selection. The staff was very nice and I was in and out as fast as I wanted to be. For a quick drink with a friend or to watch a game I would absolutely recommend this place. I will update my review when I get a chance to eat. read more
