We love SoNapa! It's one of our go to spots in our area and it offers so many options for different dining choices. They serve dinner only so be mindful of that. There is a bar area that opens at 4:00 and they offer happy hour appetizers and drinks. If you are lucky, Rachel will wait on you as she is the bomb! There is a dining room area and then there is the wine barrel room. We love the wine barrel room as it encompassed all things related to the wine country. The servers are all great, but Brandon is the bomb in the dining room. The menu is robust and everything is made from scratch. Our family's favorites are cheese bread and lamb chops to start. The favored entrees are the filet meal, the ahi tuna meal, the smash burger and for me being vegetarian, I do the curry dish with no protein. Dessert is the donut bread pudding. 4.5 Great vibe, we requested the wine barrel room which was set back, a bit less noise. Service was good, they brought us a card and spices for our anniversary which was a nice touch. We started off with drinks, beer and a gin drink similar to a bees knees (also enjoyed a French 77 later in the meal). Then bread service, with oil and three types of whipped butter. Good service of bread, moist and flavorful- worth the $9. We moved to the lobster bisque next, super rich and great flavor, service with a seasoned long cracker. Meals, the pork chop- tender, over melt in your mouth mashed potatoes with chopped apples and grapes on top- great flavor. We also had the salmon, with spinach, sun dried tomatoes, and goat cheese over a mushroom mixture, savory and great mix. Unfortunately we were beyond full and didn't opt for dessert, but I was eyeing the affogato or an espresso martini. Delicious and overall reasonable. We will be back to try more. read more

We shared sliders, meatballs which were really good, the salmon sliders were tasty too and finally the dip was good as well. The happy hour has discount on their EOS wines which were ok. A first time visit here. This used to be a Roy's restaurant. Still looks nice inside. Had reservations for a 7pm visit and were seated in the back room along with a lot of people. My sister-in-law made the reservations and I'm told you pick your spot to be seated in different sections of the restaurant. I was curious why we were being seated with a large group of people when other sections of the restaurant were not full. Being seated in this large group made the setting very loud, with everyone talking over the next table beside them. I didn't like that! Ordered drinks, appetizers and our meal. The restaurant wasn't half full and it took just over an hour to get our food. The prices are $25 to $60 for your meal not counting drinks and appetizers. So be prepared to spend over $100 for a couples meal. Food presentation was spot on, all the food brought out was delicious. As an appetizer we tried the Korean short ribs. Delish and as a main meal tried the wagyu meatloaf with mashed potatoes. Delish. As far as dessert goes we all shared the donut bread pudding. Definitely shareable. It was also delicious. Met up with friends for a fun date night and kicked things off with some delicious cocktails. To start, we ordered the Three Cheese Asiago bread--and wow, that bread was amazing! It would've been a nice touch if it were complimentary, but we couldn't complain. For the mains, I went with the pork chop, while my wife chose the mixed grill curry. This is a very popular restaurant and bar in Jacksonville Beach offering California inspired foods and wines from Sonoma and Napa Valleys. The ambiance is beachy and classy. Beautiful decor with great subdued lighting. I loved it. The darker woods with very comfortable booths were just what I like. Our server was Brandon, who was a delight with lots of great tips about the area as well as delicious items and wines on the menu. He was awesome, attentive with a good sense of humor. I ordered the Korean BBQ Ribs with shoestring fries. The ribs were delicious and spicy but I didn't care to have so much sauce poured over the fries. Less is more in this instance. A mix of flavors would be better. My daughter ordered the Thai Coconut Curry Grill with center cut sirloin. She liked her meal just as it was. For dessert, we shared the Bread Pudding. I was able to sneak in a last minute reservation for a GNO on a SATURDAY, so happy about that. When we got to SoNapa we were promptly sat, with no wait whatsoever. I feel like this never happens these days. We had a super cool booth in the wine room that faced everyone else, made us feel like queens. We ordered the scallop app which was ok. Seemed like it was missing a little something and came out very like warm, but tasty nonetheless. My friends split the carbonara w shrimp and I had the salad w steak. Steak and pasta were amazing. Another friend did the pick two and the Caesar salad was extremely over dressed. Hence why I did not take a pic. Overall the experience was good, no major misses, will love to come back! read more

This visit was prompted by an email I got from the restaurant offering a free glass of Caymus wine with any dinner purchase on the patio. Well who could say no to "free wine" especially Caymus. I've probably been here 20xs over the past few yrs. & almost always sit at the bar because I love their wine selections by the glass. I also love the fact that they do a 6 ounce and 9 ounce pour. When I sit at the bar & I usually just get an appetizer. The few times I've sat at a table and have had a full meal, it was always delicious.Their bread pudding is amazing & friends rave about their Korean ribs. This was my 1 st experience on the patio. It's a lovely little space that unfortunately faces A1A. You can't really see most of the road but you can hear the cars wizzing by. Our server was thorough and attentive, which is all you can ask for. Our complementary glasses of wine turned out to be Conundrum produced by the same family vineyard as Caymus. We all chose the red. It was actually quite nice. For my 2 nd glass I chose one of their Sauvignon Blancs that I have had here many times before. For dinner I had the sashimi tuna with coconut rice and crispy Brussel sprouts. The dish was quite a good portion of tuna. I enjoyed the dish but I felt the tuna quality could have been a little better. Fresh quality sashimi just has such a good taste hard to find these days. My dining companions had the Thai coconut mixed grill and the salmon. The salmon was prepared gluten free for my friend. She said it was excellent . The dish really looked beautiful. This is a beautiful restaurant with a bar and multiple dining rooms. I had reservations for 4:30 PM and when I arrived, I asked about the happy hour. I was happy to hear that I could enjoy the happy hour specials from the bar or in any dining room, so I decided to keep my reservation and sat in the front dining area. Our server, Casey, greeted us and took our orders promptly. I chose a Sauvignon Blanc wine from Ghost Block and ordered the Korean barbecue ribs with a side of fries and a Caesar salad. I had tried the ribs at a Yelp event last year and wanted to have them again. Although they were still tasty, they weren't as good as they were at the event. Our server was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. We decided to have dessert as well, and the doughnut bread pudding was absolutely stunning and delicious. I live 1/2 mile from SoNapa. We've eaten there many times. I looked online to make a reservation and in both seating areas they had reservations every 15 minutes for hours. I drove to the restaurant and five minutes later they would not seat us for an hour. I'm assuming it is because I had my 4 year old and 11 year old with me. read more

But last night, the customer service went above and beyond. I ordered a flatbread, and as usual, it was delicious. After I finished, the manager came out with another one--explaining that the first wasn't up to his standard in size, so he brought me a new one at no extra cost. This was done without a single complaint from me, just his own commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Stopped in for a nightcap after a terrific dinner at Seafood Kitchen. The menu is small but looked very tempting. Next time we are in town we will come in for dinner. We each tried two different wines - Regenerator Red Zin for Carol and a Roth Cab Sauv for me. We then decided to share another glass of the Zin. This is a hard one to write. Let's be clear it has nothing to do with the food as it was amazing. This is a story of sitting at the bar and being discounted and ignored. Upon arrival on a drizzly Friday night we were excited to see two patrons paying and leaving 3 open spots at the bar. Bars are our favorite places. We sat for what seemed like an extended time with dirty dishes and debris before us. Finally a bar tender dropped menus and began to clean our area. The menus stuck to the bar top and made it difficult to pry up to read. Her cleaning continued without a word. She then returned and collected our drink orders. The drinks arrived as ordered. This is where the story gets interesting. The gentleman to my right obviously a regular was advised that the evening special had been saved for him. Just let me know when you want me to put it in. Hello.. we are ready to order and never a mention of nightly special. Guess you have to be special to get the special! But no order for us.. not before we chat with another regular about a 1/15 party. Oh and then there was the other regular that we overheard the conversation and needed an invite. Hello.. can we order Finally order taken.. son orders entree and a side salad.. Time goes on and salad is dropped and Nano seconds later entrees are dropped. No time to eat or enjoy salad. My entree salad needed more dressing but not once were we approached by a bartender/server to ask how our meal was. Finally I got the eye of a server and asked for additional dressing. Time goes on and would love another cocktail but we are still talking about the party on 1/15.. order finally happens and 2nd cocktails served. During this time a couple arrives who really thought they were entitled to our seat one was vacant and the other occupied by my son. We then were subjected to keys being banged on counter. Wine glasses being separated into our area and a helicopter on our back.. This was the most absurd dining experience I have had in a very long time. Perhaps "SoNapa" should become a private club so there front of house staff can fixate on their favorites. My next $$ will be taken to a place where I am appreciated as a customer and not viewed as final check. I so wanted to love this place but it is obvious this place only loves the chosen. read more

Our server, Samantha, communicated effectively with the chef to prepare large, perfectly seared sea scallops over wilted spinach; not on the menu as such, but a wonderful way to accommodate my wife's IBS diet. We were also great by the head chef, who is a really nice guy. After a brief chat, we were seated at the bar area. Beware that this place get crowded quick. First of all, Ryan, (aqua man look alike) with the personality of a heart of gold, WOW'd us in every way tonight! One of the best servers we've ever had in our lives!!! Margaritas were amazing and came out so quickly! Tuna tacos and bacon wrapped scallops were divine and also came out quickly!! I had the Korean ribs and mom had the rack of lamb. Everything was over the top phenomenal!!!! Bread pudding to end the night was the icing on the cake. We were in time for the end of happy hour which meant 1/2 off drinks but the food deals were only available if you were sitting at the bar. That was ok with us as we wanted to try the dinner. Looking at the menu, I thought that the maple ginger sirloin sounded delicious. When I ordered it, I inquired about sides that could be substituted for the mashed potatoes. The waitress mentioned that the parmesan risotto was her favorite side so I went with that. My dining partner ordered the special that night - caprese triggerfish with burrata ravioli. We started with the three cheese asiago bread. We were both disappointed with our entrees. The steak was very bland. The menu mentioned that it was marinated in maple, ginger, and soy , none of which could be tasted. I asked the waitress for a sauce and she brought out a jus, which suffered from a lack of seasoning as well. I ended up bringing it home and eating it the next night with sauce from the refrigerator. One thing that was good about the steak was the cook. They achieved my requested doneness. The special of the day had over cooked fish but the pasta was good. The asiago bread needed more cheese in my opinion or maybe I was just expecting a gooey, pulling cheese with the three cheese description. Although the meal didn't begin well, it ended on a high note. Dessert was the best part of my meal. I thoroughly enjoyed the pineapple upside down cake. The cake was moist and sweet. Service was good for us except our server dropped off the accompaniments to the cheese bread with no explanation and another sever kept bumping my chair on his way to the kitchen, which was annoying. The space that was formerly Roy's has benefitted from some nice upgrades. Unfortunately the food overall didn't justify the prices to us. This place missed the mark this time but I may try them again once they've had some time to perfect things. read more

The bison bolognese was served on what tasted like house-made fresh pasta! A definite plus but what should have been a great dish was ruined by too much salt. We LOVE salty food but this was over the top! If you have any BP or kidney problems, beware of the salt!! The Korean rib appetizer also looked so inviting-- glistening and nicely presented. But again, waaaayyyyy to salty. Tender but deadly salty. I wish I could say that one of the dishes we ordered was good... but the meatloaf although not salty was totally dry.
