This place was IT! Was looking on apple maps for places to eat near the water and this place popped up & thank god for it! We tried a bunch of stuff on the menu and not one thing was bad even if it was out of our comfort zone. The service was amazing, he was very attentive and engaging. We got there at the perfect time to see the sunset overlooking the water, it was stunning. 100/10 recommend!! Great place for a date night, girls night, celebration, etc.

Easter brunch at The Refinery. The view from upstairs was awesome. They did a buffet with many breakfast and lunch options plus an omelette station and ham carving. The service was good and many of the wait staff had easter decor on. Overall, it was a good spot for a nice brunch. I will be back when they serve their full brunch menu, since I didn't know it was just a buffett today

This was my 1st stop on a Christmas Bar Crawl. I have been to Refinery many times. Today was for a quick drink, laughs and on to the next adventure. I was happy to see the entire place was booked for special events except for the outdoor patio. The patio is well equipped with plenty of heaters and a quaint inside bar off the patio. I never knew this existed but was so nice! Some of tree group ordered a quick snack. The service was wonderful. Such a great choice for a holiday stop

Came to grab a quick bite on the beach and wanted to give the Refinery a try. There is some designated parking but for the most part, it's the beach. That being said if it's busy you will more than likely need to be prepared to park and walk. Upon entering we opted for the bar/ lounge area seating. The space looks nice and has decent ambiance for photos or events. Our server was great. She was extremely helpful and boy did she make some killer drinks. I had a drink that was custom called a UV...and also the fish and chips. The fish and chips were great it was seasoned well and fried perfectly. Truly one of the best I've had lately. The fries were really good and crisp too. I didn't care for the Cole slaw but that's just me. My drink was the bomb. I wish I could've had two but one was enough. I definitely enjoyed my visit and can't wait to come again. The service alone was enough to come back. The good food and drinks are just a plus.

First time visiting and I must say we will be returning. As soon as we entered we were greeted and seated. Staff immediately came from behind the bar to serve and answer any questions we may have had. The atmosphere was very welcoming and relaxed. Drinks were amazing and good food made this experience even better. The service staff gave was what sealed the deal and this will now be our go to when visiting Jax beach.

What. A. Spot!!! We were staying close by along the beach as we are visiting. I wanted a place to go by the beach. Took a chance with refinery and was not disappointed. The service? Excellent! We were celebrating an early birthday dinner and our server made our night extra special with complimentary champagne and desserts. The actual food was amazing and I enjoyed the lobster dog . Great ambience and views. I would recommend for any special occasion or night out.

Nice place, right on the water. Our server on the patio was also tending the bar, so the service was slow but it wasn't her fault. My hubby like the burger. I ordered the shrimp w/gnocchi. The dish was dry, very little sauce. The shrimp was so salty it was not edible. By the time the server made her way back around my man was done eating and it was a bit late to send it back. After seeing that I didn't eat the dish she did that it off the bill so that was a good gesture.

Exciting birthday celebration at our favorite restaurant with our favorite waiter Ed! We absolutely love Refinery Jax and always have dinner here for all special occasions like birthday, anniversary and etc.

We came for New Year's Eve dinner before their event... which they made very well known to us before our reservation with it seems like 15 calls but we appreciate the heads up. It's a nice spot but when you come at night you lose some of the magic of being near the ocean. All the food we had was really good. We really enjoyed the mushroom crostini and lobster corn dog. They cooked our steaks perfectly. We would definitely come back!

First time visit and definitely won't be my last. Staff and service were top tier. Out waitress was so attentive checking in constantly to make sure we were always good with drinks and food. The burger and key lime cake were 5 out of 5 for me. The entertainment was so much fun and the crowd was having such a good time. They also offer complimentary valet which is great for the beaches area and the valet guy we had couldn't have been any nicer. Overall was just an amazing night at The Refinery.

I think the reviews are old news here & you should give this place a look, see, taste! If you are looking for a view it's unmatched upstairs! Pano Atlantic ocean at its finest Have been for happy hour & brunch twice this month & I live in PVB -worth the drive. They have definitely upped their game since these reviews & a new chef who is creating some special culinary art that not only looks fabulous but will rock your taste buds! Start with the stuffed mushrooms &/or Brussels sprouts! WOW!!! a roller coaster ride of flavors in the shrooms- LOVE! The drink menu, the wait squad, all of it is FAB! Live music on the weekends....this place is a bright diamond coming out of the rough in my opinion. Give it a try!! Brunch has come a long way since these reviews as well. Get in there locals & tourists, there's a lot to see & try!

This review is for the new Beetlejuice Pop Up Bar experience at refinery that I attended last night. It was SO COOL. I gave it four stars just for the ambiance. You can buy tickets online for 2hr increments. The bettlejuice vibe was on point with the table setters, the stripes everywhere, dark lighting, horror music. The welcome shot was the best drink. Then the other drinks weren't as good unfortunately they were way too sweet for my taste. The food was cold and flavorless. I'm happy we ate before we got there. But the vibe was pretty awesome. I'd go for just the vibe.

A bit conflicted on Refinery.... Long review incoming haha. We had a reservation for Valentine's Day in the Ocean Bar. We decided to park a little further and walk, but they also had complimentary valet. On our short walk to the restaurant, we noticed how windy it was and how it got pretty chilly when the wind blew. We also then remembered the Ocean Bar was outside (not the restaurant's fault for the weather at all obviously). When we arrived, we had a short wait and were taken into a small room with a big empty bar and 2 tables. You could see the outside Ocean Bar through the doors and the tables and chairs were not set up, there were heaters, and no people. Our spot inside was clearly just an outside table and chairs, which I thought was odd but maybe they did that to shield people from the wind/cold? The only issue was the smell in that room was AWFUL. It was the first thing I noticed and lasted through the entire dinner, putting a sour taste in our mouths from the start unfortunately. I am also unsure of where everyone else with an Ocean Bar reservation was seated, because there were only 2 tables in the room and 1 was empty for half of the time we were there. For drinks, I got a glass of Sauvignon Blanc ($11) which was pretty good, but they poured it in such a large glass that it looked like so little was given to me. Not a big thing but not super visually appealing. My date got the Flower Bombe ($15) and it was really tasty, a good balance of flowery (elderflower and lavender) and tart (lemon). They had a special Valentine's Day menu across the entire restaurant, but most of the dishes were from their original menus which looked great. I had the Blue Crab Seabass ($63) which featured the super light seabass, a delicious buerre blanc, and tasty pea risotto. However, the menu stated that the seabass was crusted in blue crab, which was not the case unfortunately. It was a very small pile of crab instead so it left me wanting more. My date had the Diver Scallops Alfredo ($43). The scallops were big and cooked well, gnocchi was light, and the sauce was yummy. However the 3 pieces of broccoli on the plate felt like more of an afterthought than a part of the dish. We also split the Boursin Mashed Potatoes ($9) which was rich and delicious, very happy with them. When we left, we both said we could have been fuller. Overall, we agreed that while the food was good, it was not worth the price tag. The smell in the makeshift Ocean Bar seating was not the place to be spending that kind of money, though maybe the Fine Dining couples had a better experience. Even the Pub Bar seemed nicer than what we got. I would also really like to know where all of the other people with reservations at the Ocean Bar were sitting, perhaps it was better too. We will check out somewhere else for Valentine's Day next year.

Quay was our personal server and I think he was our bartender too- although there was another person back and forth behind the bar. We added a little chaos to the mix with a handful of family who showed without rsvp-ing. Add in toddlers plus easily 15 people.... Yeah- mad respect for Quay!!! I admit to being sad that I couldn't get my broiled platter- that is my favorite Fish Camp dish, and apparently not available for lunch. I pivoted and got the steam pot for 2. For myself. And guess what- I ate all the crab, hmmm so happy! Laugh- it was hilarious, I was still cracking crab while everyone sung happy birthday! I was thrilled. I brought home most of the potatoes, corn and such- it even had mushrooms and broccoli! YUM! My old fashioned was also perfection in a glass. John had the shrimp and fish basket and loved every bite. Several raved about the shrimp and grits. Caron loved her mahi mahi. Connor got the Spicy Wild Caught Shrimp Linguine with White Wine, Garlic, Tomato, Pecorino and inhaled it! Even the kiddos were super happy with the kids chicken strips, although the kitchen delivered the first plate to the wrong toddler and the lovely parents didn't question how they got food without ordering and that little girl dug right in. Opposite end of the table- this grandma spoke up and we split the food so all the littles were fed. Considering our chaotic group, it went very well. I didn't hear a single complaint from our party. Hopefully we didn't drive the staff too crazy!

I used to absolutely love this place. It was our go-to for seafood, celebrations, family dinners,…read moreand special occasions for years. We recommended it constantly and genuinely enjoyed supporting them. Unfortunately, after our last few experiences, that loyalty is completely gone. The problems really started during a dinner visit with my spouse. We had a reservation for two and specifically requested a booth because my spouse has herniated discs and booths are much easier on her back. The hostess with glasses told us there were "no booths available for parties of two," so we were seated at a tiny two-top directly in front of an empty booth. Minutes later, another couple - who apparently didn't even have the correct downstairs reservation because Wheel House was closed for a private event - was seated in that exact booth instead. When I politely questioned it, I was told they were "accommodating them." Interesting, because apparently accommodating a medical issue for customers with a reservation didn't matter. Still, we decided to give the restaurant another chance for Mother's Day. To their credit, we were seated at a booth this time after I both noted it in the reservation and called ahead to confirm it. Our waiter was someone we immediately recognized from a previous visit, and my parents mentioned he had waited on us before at that same table. Somehow, from that comment alone, he became convinced we were related to Chef Tim Tillus. From there, things got bizarre. He kept talking about "Timmy," mentioning reunions and saying he used to live with him. The restaurant was extremely loud, and my father had forgotten his hearing aids that day, so honestly we could barely understand what he was talking about. We just smiled politely and focused on asking about the menu because we truly had no clue where the conversation was going. Eventually, he came back and realized we were NOT Chef Tim Tillus' family. He then explained that the kitchen staff had apparently been laughing because the chef saw us and said, "That's not my family." So somehow this became a whole ordeal in the kitchen over a completely innocent misunderstanding. We laughed awkwardly because what else do you do at that point? But honestly, the whole interaction felt strange and unprofessional. Unfortunately, the food was even worse than the awkward service. My spouse ordered the all-day seafood soup, and somehow there was basically ZERO seafood in it. That alone was shocking because their soups used to be incredible. My father ordered the broiled platter, and the portion size was honestly embarrassing for a $29 dish. His parsley potatoes consisted of literally five tiny cubes - my mother counted them because we were in disbelief. We have eaten here for years and NEVER saw portions this small. I ordered the fish special, and it was nothing like described. It was supposed to have pecans and blackening seasoning. There were no pecans, no blackening seasoning, and the fish itself was dry, bland, overcooked, and flavorless. For $32, I was served what looked like a tiny sad pile of fish in the middle of a giant empty plate. The pork chop looked beautiful but tasted absolutely awful. At this point I honestly don't know if the kitchen quality has completely collapsed or if nobody is checking food before it leaves the line anymore. Either way, it was terrible. My mother ordered scallops on the half shell as her meal - something she has enjoyed there many times before. This time, the scallops were tiny and somehow greasy. It was shocking these dishes were even leaving the kitchen. What makes this so disappointing is that we truly loved this restaurant. We weren't casual customers. We supported this place for years because we believed the food and experience were worth it. This wasn't just a mediocre meal or an "off night." This was a genuinely terrible dining experience from start to finish, made worse by the fact that it happened on Mother's Day. The service felt awkward and disorganized, the portions were insulting, the food quality was awful, and there seemed to be zero quality control happening anywhere. At this point, our money will be supporting other establishments instead. It's honestly sad because this place USED to be special. I sincerely hope management fixes the kitchen, consistency, and overall professionalism before even more longtime customers walk away.

She was exceptional. Quick service, very thorough, super friendly- but not just that, very personable. Answered all our questions and made great suggestions.
