It's my favorite! I absolutely Love Gingers. My favorite place to day drink with my friend and you just can't go wrong with JAMAL behind the bar. If you haven't seen their new mural you are missing out. Amazing work! read more

Visiting Jacksonville Beach and have stopped here twice and have had a blast each time we went. Staff is very friendly. Prices are very reasonable. Karaoke was a blast, highly recommend should you ever be in the area. read more

I came in here after a Day at the Beach and came in late afternoon around 4. I had been here before as a young man and loved it in the 90s but I even loved it more now that I'm an old man! Lol. The place was relaxed and a great place to cool off and have an Ice Cold Beer:) $3 Beer! Thank you Samantha and Scott for being great to me and my friends:) We love it there and hope to see you all again very soon:) read more

How the fuck is it still OK to smoke cigarettes in a bar. This place would be great, really, if it didn't stink of cigarettes. I sat and watched a guy suck down a packet of cheap smokes. Ginger - if you exist- just tell your patrons that smoke to step the fuck outside and you'd have so much more business. read more

Listen, you have to know what you're getting into. This is the divest dive bar I've been to in Jax. I'm not a local, so I'm sure there's more, but this is divey af. The beach bars are typically a young, wild scene. This ain't it. This is super laid back and chill. You walk in.. it's a small bar. They have some seating. There are some arcade games like bowling and golf. There is a vending machine for cigarettes. The music is good. Current hits or whatever. Not too loud so too can actually hold a conversation. Cigarette smoke everywhere. You will walk out smelling like you just smoked a pack. Seems like the crowd is full of the usuals and maybe some visitors (like myself) sprinkled in the mix. The whole reason I came ( and reviewed ) My friends grew up in Jax and brought me here for a rocket bomb. This is a $5 concoction that will excite your senses. You get a glass - maybe 12 oz - full of some red/white/blue mixture and a shot on the bottom. MUUUST CHUG IT. Tastes just like a rocket pop so it's pretty magical. I just took a date there tonight so we could try them. Got the stamp of approval. We also got the well vodka soda which was Tito's for $5 a glass. Not a bad price and a heavy pour to boot. This is Def a nice spot for a low key night. Good for a drink and conversation. Prices and selection are swell. Wish I would have gotten more Photos but this seems like the place you don't take photos. read more

Cozy little family owned locals bar. Perfect day to pop in for a cool rocket bomb! What you have never tried a Rocket Bomb? Go try one.

My favorite bar in Jax Beach. If you hate gingers you don't like dive bars. The people are great. The drinks are cheap. The karaoke nights are awesome. And the atmosphere is what a bar should be. read more

We were visiting from out of town and the owner of gingers is an amazing woman. support local. Support Women.

Attended a special event for my stepson's 40 birthday. Service was AWESOME. I like cigars and was able to smoke at the bar. Good ventilation system. I wasn't the only one with a cigar and nobody seemed to notice. Very reasonably priced cocktails with GENEROUS pours. I could hangout here! read more

Worst bar I've ever been to. Don't spill a beer or you will get kicked out. The bouncers think they are a part of seal team 6. Just don't do it. read more

Wish I could put zero stars. They assaulted my friend, not a safe place. Very rude bouncers. Terrible experience hope they go out of business. read more

If you're looking for a great "dive" bar this is the place. Perfect all around. Make sure to try the Rocket Bomb!

Ginger's Place. The 5 star dive bar! Well, five stars is a bit much, but I'll give it 4. This place gets weird, and anyone that's been there can tell you that. Living across the street from it, I can attest to the weirdness from the patrons and the bar tenders. This place is bizarre. But in a good way. You can tell it has a real neighborhood feel to it right when you walk it. Pretty much everyone knows each other, but that doesn't mean they don't want to know you. Countless times I've had a complete stranger buy me a shot or a beer. Let's face it, no one wants to drink alone! You'll even find local bar tenders from surrounding establishments boozing it up here on their days off. Not a lot of people know this, but they have a package license. So at last call you can take home a bottle of something or a six pack of beer. Another tip is to always be on the look out for the sign in front of the door. Each bar tender has a signature, if you will, that signifies they're working. My favorite bartender, Michael, always leaves an evil :) face on the sign. Mention this and he'll get super excited. This place has a crazy history too. I'd tell it to you, but then you wouldn't have a reason to go! ;) read more

It's not my favorite place to go and hang. In fact it's kind of sketchy. But they drew me in yesterday with their clever chalkboard sign that read 5 star dive bar. I definitely wouldn't give it 5 stars...ever....but dive bar it is. read more

Went here last night for the first time. It is certainly a dive bar, but with out the great staff that makes a dive bar fun. This location has one pool table, a decent stretch of bar with some coin operated touchscreen games on it, and a handful of tables. Smoking is allowed, and at least last night they had a DJ playing a mix of music genres. The drinks were not over priced, but not dirt cheap either. The two bartenders that were working were not very polite, and I'd almost even call them stuck up. If it is at all possible to be stuck up working in a place like that. I may go back once more, but it will be the last time if I get service like I did last night again. read more

What a dive! And I say that with some affection. Because it doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is. Which is a dive. But, it's not dangerous, and it's reasonably priced, and although there is the occasional human flotsam and jetsam cycling through there, everyone is pretty cool there. It's all copasetic. The place is small and dark and people mind their own business there. For the most part, anyway. Expand your circle of friends! Hang out at Ginger 's for awhile. read more

I'm not bragging but I've been working out for a while. I don't show off but I can hold my own. Some dude started trying to say that he can dead lift 350. I was like, pffffft... Whatever?!?! He started talking smack and I was like seriously ready to go. Know what I'm saying? I ordered a Smirnoff and red bull and homie was like, "you bro, I got you." Dude bought my drink. I held out my arms and said, "bring it in." We hugged it out and it was all good so I was like, "where the ladies at?!?!?" We went to bikini beach and my homeboy was scheming. It was awesome. Gingers is bad ass but there ain't no females up in there. Know what I'm saying? People better know not to step to THIS. Don't be letting yo mouth write checks that yo body can't cash, bitch. read more

Came down for a girls weekend for my 31st birthday.. I had just renewed my drivers license back home (ga) and still had the paper copy as an ID...The bartender made a rude comment "I must not be from Florida" because I said dude and wouldn't serve us.. Because I tried to explain why I had a paper copy.. Worst place ever! Thx for sending us down the street where they took my paper copy license!
