Went to Surfer to finish watching a game in the evening. The vibe was awesome, had a vodka soda, and it was just a great spot to hang out.

Paul (the bartender) was AMAZING! such a cute spot and the drinks were awesome! def a place to check out if you're in jacksonville beach!

I came here to get a drink during the Octoberfest. It was very fun for the younger crew that were there. I wanted to head upstairs, where I could look out to the Octoberfest excitement and happenings. The outside balcony was full of patrons, but I managed to find a nice spot as two people were leaving. I enjoyed my margarita, while people watching. The downstairs Bartender made me a very good drink. Spot on. I did not try any of their food items. It was too busy to stay for long. I enjoyed the fresh salt air and my drink and then I left. This is a lively and fun place for the younger crowd.

This bar was ok. It does have entertainment area. The drinks at the bar were not the greatest. They made me dirty Shirley temple, and the Paloma drink that's on their menu. It was decent. It tasted like a water down margarita. The bathrooms were ok but as clean.

Meh. Overrated and overcrowded. We stopped in for dinner after seeing some good reviews on Yelp (I mean, 4 stars sounds like a solid option!). The interior decor is awesome. The bar is huge, in its own separate room from the "restaurant", which is literally an indoor food truck. A lot of us decided to order the rice bowl, which sounded promising. When we got our bowls, they looked disappointing. But maybe they would taste better than they looked? The rice was ... I don't even know. I couldn't tell if it was overcooked or undercooked but it was a steamed white rice gone horribly wrong. The rice was clumpy and squishy and hard in places, all at the same time. And it was the same across the board for everyone who ordered rice bowls. I ended up finishing the bowl, sans rice. The overall flavor was meh - too sweet, no spicy kick to offset the sweet... I don't know, y'all but I was not happy. I should have ordered a beer... might have made my rice bowl taste a little better.

Pit stop!

Live music downstairs, plenty of space and DJ upstairs, indoor food truck (lol) window for ordering, beautiful balcony and outdoor seating overlooking the pavilion and Jax beach scene... "I like it, I love it, I want some more of it!" The menu is limited but the food is pretty good! The "La Fresca" is my favorite drink at Surfer! This is a great addition and fun new digs for Jax beach party goers!

I absolutely love this place! I always have a blast when I come to town and head to the beaches. MAKE SURE YOU GO EARLY, the line is always LONG! This is one of the first bars you see once you enter the beaches. It's two stories and usually has live music playing when you first enter. I love to visit Surfbar when "The Band Be Easy" is playing. There's a huge bar to your right, and the bartenders are always friendly and ready to take your order! When you go further back on the first floor, there's a cool looking surfer bar that sells food and drinks(coke products). They have greats quesadillas. I usually add shrimp to mine for 99 cents more. My total comes to $3.70! Not bad! Food is on point for being open late night! They also have tacos and queso dip, along with other larger items on the menu that you can check out in my picture. Once you head upstairs, there is another bar, not as large as the one downstairs but it gets the job done! There are beautiful whicker hanging lights, and a nice over look of the street! There are couches and chairs for you to sit on too. During the day there is a surf shop open on the second floor as well! It's so cool. Love coming to visit, and I encourage anyone to stop by on their stay at jax beach!

The perp

Very rude server upstairs. Didn't know what I wanted to order and she got mad and wouldn't serve me. Kind of strange behavior from a server.

Had to try out the menu :)

How is this as a venue for a show? Eyeing up a show in September but don't know from some of these reviews.

A show there?! This is like a really cool, hip bar with a small type food venue

While I wouldn't call this a go-to "work from a coffee shop all day" sort of spot. After asking around I found out this place has two floors the top floor has a space for daily office rentals. I am here on a Saturday and had no problem finding a place to work from on the first floor.  I asked Katie who was walking by and was super helpful about why it is called Ink Factory Brewing. This place used to be where Void Magazine was written and published hence "Ink Factory".  I was pleasantly surprised. The space is large enough that I found a quiet corner and even managed to snag a power outlet. The staff didn't seem bothered at all by me settling in with my laptop. That said, Ink Factory feels more like a place to hang out try the coffee, grab some food, maybe have a beer rather than a dedicated work spot. The space immediately gives off a relaxed beach vibe white walls, local artwork, surfboards, and beach apparel everywhere. It feels equal parts coffee shop, hangout spot, and beach town brewery. My coffee was spot on. Emily was awesome and helped me build a custom drink: an iced coffee with a shot of espresso, mocha syrup, topped with cold foam. Not only did it taste great, but she made it look so good that people sitting at the bar asked what I ordered. This kind of care and presentation really stood out.  If they're really busy, finding an outlet could be tough. Parking is also a bit limited for such a large space, but that's pretty typical for the beach area. Not the place I'd camp out every weekday, but definitely somewhere I'd come back to.

I'll definitely come back another day to try some coffee and matcha. As soon as I walked in I felt like I was transported to vacation beach spot in Key West. They have a couple rooms off to the right as you walk in. In one room they sale clothing a freaking vinyl records. In the room right next that one they have more seating and a couple of games and seating area. The vibe was super fresh and super surfy. I walked in and as I was looking at the coffee bar the bartender eventually came over to tell that the coffee bar was closed. He did offer me some Cold Brew! I'll definitely BE BACK.

Since it was a Tuesday morning, it was pretty quiet in the area and we had a private class with Chris. Chris was very thorough, starting with candle and fire safety. He took his time showing my daughter the process, from pouring, mixing, balancing the smells and everything in between. He knew a lot about scents and what goes well together. The shop itself was really nice and tidy. Bonus points on the "secret" room that had some gaming stuff like pool table, mini arcade area and some board games. I say secret because the connecting door is hidden as one of the shelves. He let us take our time in the room that is actually an adjoining room to his shop that has its own entrance/exit door. We could have also bought food from next door and the shop offers drinks. They have different events every month. Should have been plenty of time as the restaurant was not busy on a Wednesday at 5:30 PM. (Feb 25, 2026) We sat at the bar thinking that would be the fastest service especially with three bartenders working and hardly any customers. However, it took 10 minutes for one of them to look up from all the "very important tasks" they were doing and acknowledge us. When the bartender with the backwards cap and Jaguars shirt finally took our beer order and gave us menus, we made it known we had a concert to go to. He served our beers and said "no problem." We ordered immediately when we got our beers. It was "Wing it Wednesday" so we ordered the special. Five wings and fries. Should have been no problem to get our food in a timely manner. We had 45minutes left to eat. Then we waited some more, and waited and waited. Three bartenders and not even a glance our way. Why? Because they were all too busy chatting with this gal and her "date" especially our server. We might as well have been invisible. We finally got the attention of one of the other bartenders as our server had disappeared. (We were now down to 20 minute eat.) He acted confused as to why we were calling him over. I'm guessing it wasn't his "section" . I also am guessing we were the rude ones for interrupting his conversation with the young woman and her date. He checked on our food after we said we got to eat now! He thought that meant we wanted our food to go. Not sure why. We finally got our food with 10 minutes left to wolf down our meal and pay the bill. The wings and fries were good which is the only reason I'm giving 3 stars. But it's wings and fries. Can get that anywhere. Suffice to say is we will Not be eating at Hoptinger's again. A customer should be treated like a guest and not an inconvenience that cuts into staff's social time. And never make us feel like you're doing us a favor when we patronize your place of work. That's a sure way to a bad review and a loss of a customer.
