Before I begin this with you, I have to say this one is gonna be fun to write! I have so many things to say in limited amount of space. First, I wanna commend Aiden the gentleman who who sat at our table. What a true character he is and what a wonderful representation when you first walk in. I watched Tim greet people who came in after me with the same level of jovial and happiness that he showed me. He really starts out the visit on such a wonderful note. What a way to start your meal! Next, I have to come in Gloria, our server. She is a true gem! What a loving, caring, sweet personality and you can tell. She truly loves her job by her demonstrated actions. She truly made us feel as if we were the most important customer, however, listening to her with other tables they got the same level of personalized treatment as we did. Gloria is a true role model for the other team to adhere! Now let's talk about Erica the kitchen manager, she came out to greet us because we had a special request. Her customer centered skills were beyond reproach! She takes great pride in her kitchen and I have to say "her" kitchen because she owns the kitchen, the good and the bad. She is a true professional, who you can tell by her actions loves what she does. The food, what a tremendous difference this visit was compared to the last period. The pancakes were cooked to perfection and the scrambled eggs couldn't ask for anything better. Glorious suggested the cheese grits (I can only eat grits when they're very thick) and these grits were outstanding! They made my three eggs to order and they truly did a great job in the kitchen. The pancakes well, let's just say they were phenomenal. Overall, this was such a great experience. Tomorrow, my friend and I are coming back for breakfast after we go to the beach and we will only have Gloria's table! Grumpy's in Neptune Beach absolutely lived up to the hype! The food was incredible and the atmosphere was warm, clean, and inviting from the moment we walked in. The servers were friendly and made the entire experience even better. We were even given $5 Grumpy bucks since it was our first visit. The chicken and waffles were hands down one of the best breakfast dishes I've had in a long time -- three HUGE pieces of perfectly seasoned fried chicken that were crispy on the outside and unbelievably moist on the inside and paired with fluffy waffles. I added fresh strawberries. The meal included a side of Dave's hot honey and berry butter. Every bite was amazing. The country fried steak and eggs were just as impressive. The steak was crispy, tender, and covered in rich, flavorful gravy with perfectly cooked eggs and crispy hash browns on the side. You can tell Grumpy's pays attention to both quality and presentation. Great food, generous portions, excellent service, and a cozy modern diner atmosphere. We'll definitely be back! read more

Today our group met at the infamous Grumpy's. Sometimes I order... sometimes I don't. Today I thought -- let's get something delicious. I went with the avocado toast with a poached egg -- and I truly wasn't sure what to expect. What I didn't expect? This ginormous feast. Look at all that avocado -- not the tiny smear so many places give you. Fresh sprouts? Yes please. Poached egg? I'll probably skip that next time, but still beautifully done. And a full bowl of fruit on the side. The service was outstanding -- and with about 12 of us in the group, that's no small feat. I didn't catch the server's name since someone else generously covered our meal (thank you, mysterious breakfast hero ), but everything was absolutely perfect from start to finish. As someone with celiac -- aka gluten-free required -- it's always a win to find a place where I can go out and eat like a queen. read more

I came here for breakfast after watching the sunrise, so around 7am. It's close to town center and the beach so that's a plus! Walking in that early, it was fairly empty and i sat by the bar. I was greeted immediately and was brought out my drinks (water & coffee). I ordered corned beef hash with scrambled eggs and Swiss cheese, hash browns, and a biscuit. It came out fairly quickly which was nice. The servers were also super nice and attentive. And as a bonus, I think this place originated in Jax so you're going somewhere local technically. We were in the area to run some errands this morning and decided to have breakfast here. The restaurant was pretty full inside but we were able to get a table fairly quickly. They have indoor, outdoor, and counter seating. The menu is big and offers both breakfast and lunch options. I had the vegetable and cheese omelete with hash browns and rye toast. The serving was very generous and tasted great. My sister made her own omelette and chose sausage, mushrooms and cheese. She also loved her meal. Service was good from our server, Jeremy. Grumpys is apparently HIGHLY rated down here , so for final brunch on the way back home to Cincinnati, we gave it a shot! Finally made it out to a Grumpy's location here in Jax, thanks to a recommendation from a fellow Elite we all know and love -- Chef James D! Sunday brunch at the Neptune Beach location was a real treat. Heads up: parking can be a little tricky unless you're driving a truck . We arrived around 11:45 AM and were quoted a 15-20 minute wait for two, but ended up snagging a cozy booth in the back within 5 minutes -- love when that happens. Our server was fantastic: knowledgeable about the full menu, quick to recommend specials, and impressively handled making our alcoholic drinks despite how busy the restaurant was. I ordered one of their classic breakfast combos (either #2 or #3), while my plus one went with the day's special: a steak omelette. Both dishes were hearty, piping hot, and gave a real bang for your buck. Grumpy's marketing team has reached out to me before offering a complimentary meal in exchange for social media content. I hadn't taken them up on it -- but after finally experiencing it for myself and being genuinely impressed, I'll definitely keep them in mind for future collabs. We were on a road trip to Jacksonville Beach and decided to order pickup breakfast at Grumpy's while in JB on 12/21/24. The reviews looked good for the most part so we ordered and picked up breakfast for our room. The restaurant is cute and nicely decorated and was filled with people. It looked encouraging. I ordered the Ham n Cheese omelet thinking that it should be perfection. Unfortunately, it wasn't! It was so dry and tasted weird. Overcooked. I was starving so I didn't want to drive back and wait again for a new order. My daughter ordered the seafood omelet and her order had the same problem, dried out and didn't taste well. We couldn't finish them and threw them away. We had also ordered a Belgian waffle to share and luckily, it tasted ok and the maple syrup was good. So disappointed. Our server was Cameron. I'm ordering it stacked with over easy eggs crispy corned beef and crispy hash browns and sour dough toast. Grumpy's is one of my favorite breakfast locations as I live on the beach I like sitting at the counter having a glass of fresh squeeze juice right in front of me and the young girls that work at the counter are very, very professional and fast. The food is higher quality the most breakfast restaurants around I prefer their eggs Benedict and several of their waffles are extremely good. The restaurant has a beachy vibe with outside seating. If you want to there are daily specials on the blackboard and the service is excellent getting an extra cup of coffee or a cup to go is not a problem here. My favorite servers are at the counter very friendly, very helpful and knowledgeable and get you in and out must try. read more

Hubby and I really liked the St. John's location but this location is closer to home so we decided to check it out. It was a busy Friday morning, we did have to wait about 20 minutes for a table. The hostess and other staff were super friendly. Our server was attentive and helpful. I ordered a bacon, egg (over medium) and cheese croissant with hash browns as my side. Hubby ordered the Grumpy's country breakfast with scrabbled eggs, sausage, French toast and added a side of hash browns. I loved my breakfast sandwich! The over medium egg was cooked perfectly as was the thick cut bacon. The croissant was buttery and lightly toasted inside. The hash browns were phenomenal! Salty and crispy. Hubby's country breakfast was yummy, too. The sausage, French toast, maple syrup combo was delish. Grumpy's never disappoints but this location was even better than expected. We tried this spot today for brunch. The wait was about 10 minutes when we arrived which wasn't bad. They call your name on a speaker system once you check in and when your table is ready and man is it loud. Too loud honestly. They have inside and outside seating and we waited for an inside table. Our server, Stephanie, was really great! Happy to answer questions, upbeat and very sweet. She honestly was the highlight of our meal. The pros and cons were as follows: Cinnamon roll was 9/10- we shared that to start but it is sweet so be prepared. I had one pancake and added blueberries and it was HUGE- I couldn't eat 1/3 of it, but a bit too dense for me 6/10 Cheese grits were not warm enough 3/10 Shredded hash browns again not warm enough 5/10 A mimosa and a poinsettia were OK but very weak with champagne 4/10. I left over half of the second one which is not normal for me. Hubby had the breakfast platter. His opinion was eggs were scrambled but overcooked 4/10, pancakes way too dense 6/10, breakfast potatoes were good but not warm enough 6/10, bacon was good 9/10, he ate the meat that came with mine and chose the sausage link 5/10. They offer brunch and lunch every day. The menu offers many different options. I just wished the food was better. They give you huge portions but we like better tasting food as opposed to large portions. read more

Grumpy's was worth the wait! My favorite breakfast item was the Madd Breakfast Wrap which was delicious with some hot sauce and ketchup. You can't go wrong with getting their hash browns on the side, or ordering the classic style breakfasts. It was a pretty big restaurant and is always packed whenever we go. It took about 20 min. to get our food because they were packed. Waitress checked back a couple of times and offered a cup of gumbo while we waited. Food came and was very good. Recently during a day of appointments out at the beach, my husband and I found ourselves with about an hour to grab some breakfast. Normally we go and have coffee, but both of us were in the mood for something a little more substantial. We have been to the Grumpy's over in Orange Park but never the one at the beach. We decided to give it a go and boy are we glad we did! We were seated immediately - no wait! Our server was Noela and she was not only friendly but also very helpful. My DH ordered a Meat Lovers Omelette with Hash Browns and Sourdough Toast. I ordered an Egg White Omelette with Mushrooms, Ham, Onions, Spinach and Cheese. Noela helped me because they didn't list Spinach as a possible inclusion and told me she'd ask in the kitchen - and when my omelette came out, it had quite a bit of spinach in it, much to my delight! I also ate some of my husbands Hashbrowns and they were perfectly cooked, nice and crispy on the outside while not over-cooked on the inside... DELISH! Our meal was delicious and timely. We truly appreciated the efforts Noela went to in order to get everything out on time, while never making us feel rushed. Grumpy's is one of my favorite breakfast spots in Jacksonville. I was so happy to learn they opened a location at the beach as the other location was not close to my house. I took my company for breakfast the Sunday after Thanksgiving. They were crowded, but we were able to get a table in less than ten minutes. We sat outside on the patio which was quite large. They had window coverings down to keep out the rain. I first ordered a hot chocolate, which exceeded my expectations! I loved the chocolate drizzle and homemade whipped cream;) And the hot chocolate was delicious too. For breakfast, I had the Gumpy's Country Breakfast, which included two eggs scrambled, bacon and two pieces of French toast. This was a perfect amount of food. Everything was hot and fresh and I loved the french toast! There were several pieces of bacon, so I gave one piece away because I was so full. Our server was friendly and efficient. Our food did take a little longer than I expected. Our server advised there was a large party in the back, which we could not see. And that was why it was taking longer than usual. Decided to break the Thanksgiving leftover cycle and get some breakfast delivered. I just wanted something simple so I went with the #3 (2 eggs w/ choice of side and toast) with scrambled eggs with cheese, cinnamon raisin toast, hashbrowns and bacon. My dude got the Grumpy's Madd Breakfast Wrap (eggs, ham, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, onion, peppers, and cheese). That sounded delicious but too heavy for what I needed. UberEats had a deal that if you spent $30 you could get a #11 (Golden Belgian Waffle) for free so I got it to split it. This was more food than we needed lol. I really liked how simple everything was and it tasted just like it was homemade. I think the toast was a little too crispy for my liking but that was ok. He enjoyed his wrap and was able to eat it all. Delicious. Will be back for more. read more
