The utility guy behind the "plate" knows everything that is going on on the field, and gets orders out quickly and efficiently. The clean up hitter is there with your food and anything else you need to stay in the game. I showed up with a team of Wise cracking fools and the Home team just ran with it. Great experience for lunch. Casual spot, great service, food was good. I don't think you will ever use their menu, as being from a cordon blue chef. They only open Monday through Friday and close after lunch. The cheesy grits are to die for. My fav is the corn beef hash. No one does it like Beachwarmers. The breakfast simply melts in your mouth. First off the owners of Benchwarmers are super friendly and very hard working; from taking orders to cooking to bringing out the food to clearing your table. They really put their hearts into this cafe! I work across the street so the cafe is very convenient for me to walk to for a quick lunch. Although I have only been a few times, I do plan to go back many more over the upcoming years. The food is really good here. The cheesesteak is awesome! Even the chicken cheesesteak. On the way home from our cruise, we were passing through Jacksonville and wanted to find something for lunch. I saw the reviews for Benchwarmers Café and hurried to get over before we missed the exit. As we walked in, we were instantly welcomed by the sweet lady behind the counter. We asked her that if she only had the chance to eat there once, what would she get. She recommended the burgers and cheesesteaks. Two of us got burgers, which were so delicious and topped with fresh fixings from local produce, one got wings that were crispy and cooked to perfection, and the other had chicken fingers. Everything tasted so good and just hit the spot! The restaurant had a great, friendly atmosphere and was very tidy and clean. The diner is decorated with a baseball motif that was very fun! All of the employees we encountered were super friendly and checked on us often. The men who made our meals came to see how everything was and see if we needed anything. Then, to top it all off, we had their banana pudding that they make in house. So delicious! Do not pass up Benchwarmers Café! read more

I work in health care and also have my own Chimney Inspection, repair and cleaning business. I had work on that side of town and chose to stop in for lunch. My lunch consisted of a cheeseburger all the way, sweet tea and banana pudding. Everything was delicious! I also had accidentally left my bank card when after I paid for my lunch. I called back the next day and was informed that my bank card was left there and safely put up until I returned. No extra charges had been put on my card and I will always appreciate the honesty!
