Great place like an old fashioned luncheonette with fresh food. You order at the counter from the menu board. Breakfast served 7-10 then they switch the grill over to lunch. I've been here several xs before always good. This time I had a salad with grilled chicken & their yummy house made Southwest dressing. My Dining partner had a tomato basil wrap of buffalo chicken. He said it was excellent. It comes with fries ( they make great fries) but he was watching what he was eating today so no fries. Note they close it 3 so this is your breakfast or lunch spot.

Would not go back. The food was mediocre at best and expensive. The cashier was very cold and unfriendly. The price of the meal seemed very shady. All I ordered was a tuna melt with potato salad and my dining partner got a French dip with fries. Paid almost $30 for that. Only pros...food came fast and presentation was good.

Always fast and friendly service and the food is great. The fries are fresh and hot and the lettuce is fresh and crisp.

A hidden gem--I just love it when I find one! This deli-style café has very fresh ingredients and a wide-ranging menu. One of my sons had read some online reviews of it and wanted to try the food--yes, a small adventure to get mom out and about. Very friendly atmosphere even though we arrived about fifty minutes before the 3 o'clock p.m. closing. Wonderful attitude towards dealing with my allergy to onions and I had no reaction to what I ate so I know the chef was careful! I had the classic Italian sub (sans onion) and my son had the beef Philly. I asked that half of my sub be wrapped for to-go and it was nicely done and placed in a clamshell. I devoured the other half! My son loved his Philly. There's plenty of inside seating. It's very near Baptist South Hospital and there's shopping nearby, so a good place to keep in mind for an outing or a quick meal. I highly recommend it!

Thought I'd try a new place. This business is at the end of a building on Old St. Augustine Rd in a commercial park. You place an order at the counter and they bring it to you. Breakfast and lunch items. Very friendly! I ordered breakfast. Well priced for the "3 of everything" eggs! Too much food. The home fries were crispy on the outside and creamy inside. Loved them! The chicken sausage was juicy and flavorful. They made a fresh pot of coffee when I came in. Others commented everything is delicious from salads to wraps and burgers. I expect to return and try other items. You can also order online. You are sure to find something delicious on the menu. My picture of the inside disappeared so can't show you. A good vibe. Several tables. Clean. I believe they close at 3.

Such a cute little place! I came in on my lunch break and they had a good crowd. I got the chicken tender wrap combo with fries and had them toss my chicken in buffalo. Soo good and such a huge portion for the price! You also need to get a side of ranch. It's their house ranch and it was so good! Everyone there was also super nice and friendly. Just found my new lunch spot so I definitely recommend going here!

Forget Denny's, forget IHOP for me it's all about the mom and pop business around me. It's safe to say for me I choose Chow Down Alley every time. Once you walk through the front door someone always greets you and makes you feel welcomed. Once you walk up to the ordering counter you get greeted again by the Beautiful ladies that I believe run the whole place other than the mail owner who's always at register. Now on to my meal which was saliva-tingly good. I order the chicken tender wrap with honey mustard on a tomato basil wrap with lettuce and onions. I'm not really a fan of tomatoes on my food so I decided to leave it out. As you can see from my pictures that the food was put together with love and kindness. That's what I always say when my food looks very presentable. I like to toot my own horn in my photography portrait skills from time to time and with each Yelp review I'm only getting better I believe. This may seem far fetched but I will go on record and say Chow Down Alley has the best seasoned crinkle fries in Jacksonville. Their exact temperature to hot and ready is like no other. I love my fries in between mushy and completely crispy and I'm saying they have that down to a science there. With every fry it's mouth watering taste as they have little bowls to fill your ketchup desires. Absolutely referring anyone to go to Chow Down Alley to try their food as long as I get an invite as well

Kickin' Chicken Sandwich

Small town diner atmosphere. Breakfast and lunch menu full of delicious options. Some "off-menu" items. I had the Kickin' Chicken sandwich, has a crispy outside and soft, tender inside. The french fries are good n seasoned good. The house ranch is good, made in house. I'll be back to try some of the other menu options.

A little mom and pop shop that has been around for a long time. The portion size is great just like the customer service.

Hubs & son love wings. I do not. They're messy, and I don't usually like to eat chicken skin…read more Bonchon may have changed my mind. Visiting my son & DIL this past weekend, both of my son's dining suggestions were wing-focused. But my vegetarian DIL (she eats some seafood) seemed to be more interested in Bonchon than the other potential spot, so I took her side to make our choice. I can usually find something to eat on any menu, in spite of my immature palette, and Bonchon was no exception. In fact, there are several other things I want to try now! We started with the Korean Cucumber Salad & Bao Buns with Pork Belly. No one that knows me will be surprised that the cucumber salad was much too hot for me. But here is something unexpected... I loved the cole slaw on the Bao Bun, and the sauces were complementary enough that the spice level was fine for me. I would definitely order the Bao Buns again, and try the other meats. For my meal, I ordered the Bibimbap with Bulgogi, and really enjoyed it. Their marinated beef was very tasty, and of course I love an egg on just about anything. Another (non)shock, I did not care for the Bibimbap Sauce because it was rather hot; I appreciated that it was served on the side. Hubs said the mushrooms & caramelized onions were very good, but I didn't eat either. Then I tried a Classic Crunch drumstick, and fell in love! Yes, I bit into it like y'all do, and ate the skin, too. What a delicious piece of chicken! I didn't even need a dipping sauce (& I can't remember what the boys chose anyway). My son insisted that I'd enjoy a Korean BBQ wing also, and I'm sure I would, but I was already getting full. Next time! Also for my next visit, my DIL got a Mopo Corndog as her appetizer (though she also ate a lot of the cucumber salad), and it looked amazing! The name was confusing (to me), but there is no hot dog inside, so I want to try one. Fried mozzarella & potato cubes! They have two versions, so of course I want to try both; although I'm rather skeptical about the sugar-cinnamon coating, I'm anticipating an unexpectedly delicious bite. Service was fantastic, although they weren't very busy yet on this Saturday evening. Our server was very attentive & friendly, and none of us waited for a new drink or refill. My son & DIL evidently visit often, so I'm sure we'll return. I wish we had a Bonchon location closer to us!

I ordered their cinnamon roll, and it was so yummy (and I'm a stickler for a good cinnamon roll)! I also ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on Texas toast with hash-browns. The sandwich was great, but will I say the hashbrowns were just OK -- I'll probably go with the country potatoes next time. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience I would definitely come back. *I didn't get a pic of the cinnamon roll, but, trust me, it was good!

The overall vibes were casual in a nice way -- nothing too aggressively themed, just a good and bright breakfast spot. Our server, Bonnie, was friendly and helpful. I ended up ordering a hodge podge of breakfast items: eggs over medium, hash browns, cheese grits, a waffle, and a blueberry muffin split and grilled. My mom got an egg sandwich with grits and vegetarian sausage (yay!). Our food came pretty quickly, and I hoovered up everything on my plate. Everything tasted the way you'd expect: just good breakfast food. The hash browns had a crisp top, which is vital for me. The malted waffle stood out the most; I could smell it the second our server walked out of the kitchen with it and I ate the whole thing, even though I frequently split a waffle and take half home for later. The muffin was good, but a special shoutout for the option to have it split, buttered, and lightly grilled. I immediately requested my mom start trying that with her own blueberry muffins next time I'm over. It's a little pricey, but what isn't these days? It sure hit the spot.

They have a nice menu with a variety of burgers, chicken sandwiches and wings, fries and onion rings, and Fountain drinks and milkshakes!! But I am so limited in what I may eat, that I had to ask for a plain hamburger and grilled mushrooms--cooked on a space that that was freshly cleaned off on the grill. I was so wrapped up in explaining this to very patient counterlady McKenzie (I believe) that I forgot to ask for lettuce and tomato. When it arrived at the table--brought singly out by Fernando (I believe)--I realized that I hadn't asked for the lettuce or tomato and I mumbled that to myself. But, I did not ask outright! Lo and behold, not a minute later Fernando appears with a plate of lettuce and tomato. How terrifically caring is that!?!?! And my burger was perfectly cooked and I did not have a bad reaction which means McKenzie got all the instructions exactly right and the chefs did exactly right, too! I thank all the staff very much! My family who was with me enjoyed all their selections, including fries and onion rings. My grandson's milkshake disappeared quickly. (You can get alcohol there, too.) I washed it all down with a cookie and cream shake. Our first time at Burger barn. The interior had a old country feel. The menu was a sight for sore eyes. It was big, bold and right in your face. Everyone loved their burgers and the kids did not eat a thing. I have funny grand kids that do not eat hot food. What a treat to have burgers, fries and chicken wings on a wonderful Sunday afternoon.
