Went to BB's today and it's honestly been at least 15 years since I've been there and it is surprisingly the same but even better! It's the way I remembered, elegant and casual at the same time. Great bar, even better dessert bar! Went today with a few girlfriends and it was such a great experience. Our waitress was wonderful and our food was delicious and we absolutely had to do the dessert tour! This place is a classic and I'm so glad we thought to come again today!
Had a great brunch experience at BB's! I ordered the chicken and waffles, and it was a delicious combination of sweet and savory with great flavor. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and perfect for a relaxed brunch with friends or family. Definitely a spot worth checking out!
The fries are very very good and so were the two slices of crispy bacon on my sandwich. My lunch sandwich was just okay and was pricier than necessary, cost didn't include fries either...those were an extra $3. Had a bit of an odd interaction with one of the employees where I personally felt like I was being cat-called but when I shot him a look, he pivoted to asking if I was interested in anything in the dessert case. To-go cashier was nice, I did ask him for ketchup and he mentioned the chef should've already put ketchup in the box...the chef did not. Wish some of the seasoning on the fries made it onto my $20 ancho "spice" turkey sandwich. 3 stars because the ciabatta bread, fries, and strips of bacon were good. I was just visiting and maybe had an off-experience but it was still odd compared to all the rave reviews this place has.
I had been looking for a chilled grown folks lounge. This place hit the description right on the nail. Great calm vibe, amazing food and excellent customer sevice. I had a blackened grilled fish bit sandwich with fries. Both were delectable! For my drink, an old fashion. They offer a variety of foods, drinks and even deserts. There's a miniature bakery counter in back. The music was just the soulful kind of vibe I was looking for. It wasn't over bearing loud, but soft in the background. You could hold a conversation without yelling over the music. Belle my bartender amd the hostesses were friendly and accommodating. I will defintely be back!
Stopped by BB's before a concert a few weeks ago with my daughters and it did not disappoint. I got the blackened fish sandwich and my daughters got the crab cakes. Everything was really good along with the service, atmosphere and drinks. And we all got the champagne wedding cake to go. Sooooooo delicious
Love this spot for a quick bite before heading out downtown. It's one of my go-tos when we want something easy but still really good. The food is always delicious. The meat and cheese board is perfect for sharing, the steak is a solid choice, and their espresso martinis are so good if you're starting the night with a drink. It's a great place for a quick date night or a casual stop before going out. Easy, cozy vibe and always a reliable pick in Riverside.
I am so glad that BB's takes in walk ins. Their menu is clearly marked which items are gf. That is awesome to see, and something I found to be lacking in other Jacksonville restaurants. They had a fun happy hour menu too, with a good variety of cheaper drinks and food too. The steak frites were $10, but my heart was set on the gluten free calamari instead. My waitress was Sarah and even though BB's was quite busy, Sarah was fantastic at getting my orders in for gluten free calamari and gluten free white truffle pizza. I ordered a spicy margarita first before moving onto a Black Tie Fizz cocktail. Everything was delicious and I will definitely make a point to come back again if I find myself in Jacksonville again. The gluten free pizza reheated well in the microwave this AM too which is a win. The restaurant itself was really nicely done. The music playing was nice, but not overpowering conversation. I was able to finish a book with my meal.
We had the best girls lunch here! Our server was so sweet and fun I wish she could've pulled up a chair. It's definitely close quarters in the dining room and I felt I had to weave around tables to find the bathroom. I definitely want come back and try their dinner menu and that dessert case
I FINALLY came to BB's for brunch and loved every minute. What a cute spot, I don't know how I never made it before! First of all, they had popovers, which is one of my favorite things ever - and they were GOOD. I tried the big wedge salad and soup and it was excellent. The steak and eggs and special of the day omelette were also incredible. Everything was well seasoned and cooked perfectly, which is a big deal. I had a paper plane cocktail and it was *chefs kiss*. Our server was on her game and did a great job throughout our meal. We ordered some dessert to go and it was a really fun brunch. I'm looking forward to the next time I get to eat here!
I haven't been back to Bb's for several years because I wasn't impressed the first time I came... but boy was I wrong! Their lunch was spectacular! And Jamie was the best server I have had in a really long time. She was attentive but not overbearing. Always around when we needed something. The ambiance was terrific but I think the tables were a little too close together.... The calamari was on point! So tender and juicy and the sauce was so so delicious, had a hint of curry. The shrimp and grits was orgasmic.... I usually love my grits with lots of cheese, but this dish came with a creamy tomato sauce on the outside that paired so perfectly with the grits it doesn't even need cheese! It also had a delicious tomato jam with it. Unfortunately this dish is only available on Wednesday The steak lunch was kinda chewy but good flavor. The only downside to the menu would be that it has only apps, pizza, sandwiches and salads. I would like to see more entrees!
Visited BBs recently for dinner. I have only been there for lunch and brunch prior. Somehow the decor really works at night. The lighting makes it elegant and even though the restaurant was really crowded, we felt a bit of privacy at our table. Dinner comes with bread. Baked very well but it's a bit sweet. We had the calamari and mozzarella bruschetta for appetizers. Both were stellar. The calamari there has an Asian twist but is so good. Crispy, fresh, delicious. They never skimp on cheese when it's with any dish. My main was a special Asian Fish dish that our waitress recommended. It was excellent as well. For dessert, I had the carrot cake. Really large slice, elegant, moist, delicious. Just a great dinner experience at BBs. We'll be back.
BB's has remained consistently good throughout the years. Their iced tea is my favorite. My entire family ordered the unsweet ice tea at my birthday brunch cause I could not recommend it enough The food is fresh, flavorful and nice to look at. I don't have a good fave because I keep trying different menus items and have never once been disappointed.
I came in for brunch on a Sunday. I sat pretty quickly, as I was solo and the bar was fairly open. The bartender was really nice, despite being slammed. I appreciate him. I ordered the shrimp lollipops for my appetizer and the steak bistro sandwich as my entree. I had a couple of mimosas along the way. The shrimp lollipops were a fun concept, but they were pretty hard. Seemed like the were maybe overdone. And I don't know if the 4 little balls are worth $19. The steak sandwich was okay. Just very okay. Steak was a bit chewy, flavor wasn't anything excited. Way too much bread:meat ratio. It was decent, edible. The mimosas were fantastic! Probably the most solid part of the meal. Overall, I don't feel like the amount or the quality of the food were worth the $65. I may be back for dinner as I do remember enjoying that previously, but brunch here just doesn't seem like the move.

My husband and I went on a much needed date night tonight. I've always wanted to give BB's a try and finally convinced him! We ordered the Brussel sprouts as an appetizer, they were phenomenal! Then we both decided on steak for dinner. I got the filet, and ordered it medium rare and it was perfect. My husband ordered the ribeye and his was medium, his was also spot on. Then of course, we had to get dessert. I got the German chocolate cake (this apparently isn't their normal one) and my husband got the dulce cheesecake. The waitress we had was great, and she recommended lots of tips and favorites to try. The only negative thing that I would say is that it's a bit cramped, so it was very loud and hard to hear each other at points. This was an amazing dinner. We will be back read more
Had a fantastic double date tonight celebrating my girlfriend's birthday! We were greeted warmly and given a nice table in the dining room. Our waiter, Evan, was very proactive & offered suggestions with menu items. We started with some cocktails, the gentlemen with the cider beer & an old fashioned. I chose a glass of bubbly & the birthday girl had the fizz cocktail. It was incredible with a fresh blackberry puree. We started with the fried green tomatoes & the calamari, both were delicious! Calamari was prepared well and not too chewy. We shockingly each chose a salad: the bistro steak, the chop chop Asian, the goat cheese, and the salmon. Each one was incredible. Mine was the chop chop and I absolutely loved it! It was HUGE and you can bet I ate every single bite. Loved it!' We finished with the brownie topped with ice cream for the birthday girl, it was extremely tasty! Thanks again to Evan for making our night! He was a fantastic waiter! BB's is a true Jacksonville staple. Whenever we have visitors in town, taking them to BB's or at least ordering dessert to-go is non-negotiable. Their rum cake and bread pudding are in a league of their own!So moist and decadent! The café itself has a great vibe! Cozy, sophisticated, and romantic, making it a perfect spot for date night. Wonderful Valentine's Day experience at BB's. We wanted to avoid the busy dinner rush, so we stop by for lunch. The appetizers looked so good that we just stuck with apps and dessert - the shrimp lollipops were excellent, and the duck wonton creatively prepared and quite flavorful. The stuffed mozzarella bruschetta was not one of my favorites, but it was still decent - the bruschetta was cooked more like a large soft pretzel. We finished it off with a shared serving of the caramel apple pie with ice cream... mmmm, Delicious. All in, pricing averaged about $50 per person. Service from Caitlin was good, nothing exceptional but overall efficient. Plenty of free parking, and an easy location to access right off the highway. Overall a great experience, even on a busy holiday weekend. read more
I came here with a food tour through Jax Tours. Our final stop and grand finale at BB's completely blew me away. We started with warm, perfect popovers and honey butter (honestly life-changing). Then came a chef's tasting featuring salmon dip with veggies and house-made chips, Brussels sprouts, and a shrimp lollipop--every single item was outstanding. Dessert was their croissant bread pudding with vanilla ice cream, which truly was the icing on the cake. read more
Ok ok ok. We came for lunch, unknowingly. Now, I've been to BBs before, never during lunch though. Let me tell you, the drinks were drinking and the food was fooding. You're probably wondering what this picture is. Well let me divulge; pictured below would be a demolished fish BLT (fish of the day was red snapper). It didn't last long enough for me to get a better picture. The BF said, and I quote, "whoever made this sandwich needs BTA because it's so good!". Now I know you're questioning, BTA, what does that mean? Well it means belt to ssa. That means that the sandwich was so delicious, whoever made it needs a spanking! And yes, we told our waitress to inform the person responsible for this perfection, that they need a spanking for this sandwich being so dang good. Let's discuss the shots we ordered. A really lovely time at BB's with my girlfriends last week. The restaurant was nice and cozy, with plenty of room between parties and not too loud. Our server was prompt and checked on us frequently. I had the vodka arrabiatta with shrimp and scallops and could have licked the plate clean the sauce was so good, and the scallops were perfectly cooked. Lastly we got some cakes to go on my friend's recommendation and were given some HUGE slices that are sure to last me the next few days. So glad to have discovered this great restaurant in San Marco! read more

My husband and I came here for an early 11th anniversary dinner. We have been here before to pick up dessert and it's small but nice. Service was the best and the food was amazing! We had crab cakes which is some of the best I've had in Jacksonville. I got the White Truffle pizza and husband got the Asian Chop Chop salad. Very fresh ingredients and full of flavor! Menu is limited but they are known for their desserts and the triple chocolate cake and red velvet cheesecake cake did not disappoint. I love the little lamps on the table too. Made it intimate. This has been a staple in Jacksonville for quite some time. If you're thinking of a place to meet with friends for brunch or some dessert and coffee, or even wine, this is a sure thing. The setting is welcoming and open. I believe it's a sister restaurant to Biscotti's and they carry the same scrumptious dessert options that are to die for my favorite is the carrot cake! If you're looking for a reliable spot with consistent quality, and professional staff, I would recommend BBs. read more
BB's is a STAPLE in my visits to Jacksonville. I don't believe I've ever had a dish here that was not well worth it. Everything is amazing! The staff is super nice and accommodating. The overall feel of the restaurant is inviting. Though this restaurant does get busy for brunch and dinner, there are pockets of times in which the crowds slow. In my most recent visit to BB's, I attended brunch for a friend's birthday around midday and the restaurant was not packed at all. In fact, there was still parking in their main lot - which is not always the case when I visit. I usually park across the street in the secondary lot or I carpool. However, we got to enjoy the best of both worlds, brunch and lunch, without the usual bustle of the crowd that usually comes on weekends. As for the food, I had their pancakes - which were super tasty and filling. My friend gave me her eggs - which I will admit I didn't care for. They needed some extra seasoning - so I made due with salt and pepper to spice them up a bit. I paired everything with a glass of Prosecco! All in all, the brunch was great! My friend got treated with a sweet treat for her birthday and we also shared and toasted with a birthday shot! Price points are reasonable. Some items do get a bit pricey but for the most part, there's numerous items on the menu that are affordable. I'll definitely be back. As I visit each time I visit Jacksonville. I also recommend to anyone I know visiting Jacksonville. BB's is really a great spot!! Can't wait to go again in the near future. read more

Let me start by saying the food was delicious hence the 3 stars. The desert was excellent but there is no way the plate I received was worth $42 US dollars!! To be fair, there is one shrimp missing and a fork full of pasta. It was a to-go order so presentation was compromised. But a picture is worth a thousand words! Enjoy!! read more

Visited on Sunday morning for a brunch with our family of five around 11:15. The restaurant was about half full with plenty of open tables. The popovers were okay but needed like a sweeter butter because they were bland. Overall our meals were pretty good but there weren't a ton of vegetarian options. Our server was very rude and slow and the food took a very long to get to us. read more
Birthday celebration for our daughter was wonderful. I was glad to have made a reservation ahead since the restaurant was surprisingly busy after 7pm on a Wednesday. Loved that we were seated at a round table to the side since some of the other tables inside are very close together. Our server was fantastic throughout our evening. The popovers offered before our food were slightly sweet and tasty. Our group enjoyed the bruschetta and calamari appetizers, a few cocktails, each of the entrees, and a couple of their amazing desserts. My wedge salad was delicious with their homemade blue cheese and perfectly cooked steak. The candle and Happy Birthday message on my daughter's cake slice selection was a lovely way to finish our evening. read more
Stopped by on a recommendation and was not disappointed. Was very busy for lunch, but we were sat right away and gave a table that made it easy for our stroller to get on and out and wasn't in the way. The peach dreaming drink was super tasty and refreshing- a bit over charged at $10 for a non- alcohol drink, but nonetheless delicious. The goat cheese salad was huge and very good. The homemade dressing was phenomenal and like nothing I've had previously- like a spicy honey mustard. My husband enjoyed the ribeye burger special. It was to come medium, but came out well done, but still good! The server was friendly, cleared our table as we went, and was timely. We find it VERY difficult to get good food in Jacksonville so this was a nice treat and we will be back! read more
My husband saw this restaurant on a list of best restaurants in Jacksonville and decided to make a reservation for Valentines Day lunch. I am really glad he did because it was great. On the weekends they offer both their brunch and lunch menus. The brunch menu had your standard brunch and breakfast items. The lunch menu had appetizers, or as they call them, Little B's, salads, sandwiches, and desserts. We decided to go with three appetizers. First we had the shrimp lollipops and they were absolutely delicious. Next we had the duck wontons and they tasted good. Our final appetizer was the bruschetta, another good choice. They also have a beautiful dessert case. Desserts include bread pudding, brownies, apple pie a la mode, German Chocolate cake, red velvet cake, cheesecake, and a few other great looking cakes. We opted for the hot apple pie with vanilla ice cream and it tasted great. Service was quick and professional. read more

We loved everything about bb's. The staff, the incredible food, the bread service (!), the 1/2 priced wine on Mondays! And then there was the pork chop!!!We have been ruined, there is no chop anywhere that can measure up to this one. Incredible flavor, perfectly paired sides!! read more
Went to BB's for dinner with a friend. I was excited to try this restaurant. In fact, I had a hard time deciding what to order. We were there at the end of happy hour. It was bustling and kind of loud. My friend enjoyed her drink, called The End. The blackberry sangria was just okay to me. We shared the salmon dip as an appetizer. Very tasty! My friend ordered the chop chop salad, which had salad, noodles and an Asian dressing. She seemed to like it. I had a fried green tomato sandwich with bacon added. The sandwich was okay. I think the tomato needed seasoning but I really enjoyed the side Caesar salad. The desserts all looked amazing, but I settled on the croissant bread pudding, which was the highlight of my meal. Overall, I enjoyed myself and would go back, especially for dessert! The waitress was very helpful and accommodating. read more
One thing is for sure... make a reservation. I did not have one, but thankfully there were enough free seats at the bar to make the visit possible. The bar is not that big, so don't rely on getting that lucky. The place itself is nice. Parking is easy. Service is super friendly and attentive. The grilled fish BLT - fresh daily choice fish, romaine lettuce, marinated tomatoes, roasted tomato-remoulade, applewood smoked bacon, was a nice option for dinner. I can't say I have seen something like it on a menu somewhere else! That, plus the meze platter with hummus - toasted naan, jalapeño chips, grilled baby carrots, green goddess, olive relish, was more than enough food. The side Caesar that the sandwich came with was great too. They had a good selection of canned local brews which was the perfect touch to an already wonderful experience here. read more
